I have the Gardena watercontrol bluetooth 1889-20 since a few month. Last week my app told me there was a firmware update available. I started the update on my phone, the update started apparently, but almost immediately the screen told me: "Update failed". Since then I did not manage to get control over the product. I have tried to initiate the product as told in the manual, but my app told me all the time "Update needed", but never succeed in completing the update, but stays hanging in there. I have got a gardena sileno minimo 380 and I just got a new phone. Now I have trouble with connecting with the gardena bluetooth app on my new phone. On my old phone there was no problem. But now the app wont find the robot.. What do I need to do?

I have the Water Controller. It was connected to my phone and worked wonderfully for ~1 year. Now the device will no longer connect to the app (despite multiple restarts of the device and factory resets). The app continuously throws either the error that it’s found an unsupported device or the error that the device needs to be restarted. Tried to connect it via different phones (thought maybe that was the issue) and uninstalled and reinstalled the app, nothing works. Unfortunately I can’t recommend the product or the app for these reasons…

While I can establish a bluetooth connection when close to the device, the app doesn’t save changes such as updated mowing schedules. What’s worse the app is the only way to change certain settings.

The application does need to reconnect, constantly . It also throws communication error after communication error. Gardena was a good brand. It does not seem the case anymore .
