Step back in customer service

Two factor authentication takes so long, log in times out waiting. Can no longer direct deposit automatically . Have to log in to arrange transfer. To many options for reimbursement that look similar, but no help to explain what to choose. Recommend to my company to use someone else. This is terrible.

Company and app does not explain its benefits .

Company dose not explain how the benefits work. They take you hard earned pretax money which is suppose to be a benefit to your family and make it very difficult to get your money back. They are hard to contact and do not explain them selves very well. They told me I had money to carry over and come to find out that I lost it as soon as I stopped participating in the plan. I will never recommend anyone to use this company or app and even detour you from starting. In my opinion it’s a scam and that why they make it so difficult to recover your funds!

Terrible App.

Super frustrated every time I try to use BASICBenefitsApp. It’s strange how it can give way too much information while also giving not enough. Just trying to find a way to contact the company takes you out of BASICBenefitsApp and sends you to their website, which is even worse than BASICBenefitsApp . I didn’t sign up for FSA again this year because of how difficult BASICBenefitsApp and the company is to deal with.

Absolutely nothing good to say.

I have absolutely nothing good to say. BASICBenefitsApp has always been hard to use and tedious. I would best describe it as torturous. PSimple transactions take hours to implement because it gets stuck. All it may provide you with is a spinning circle to let you know it’s trying or some cryptic explanation of what’s wrong without any HELP menu. There is no decipherable reason why this has to be so hard!

Not Impressed or happy !!!

This new app and system is terrible. Previous app was simple to use and easy to understand. Have had to call 4 different times to get help with this and got the impression a couple of the people I spoke with were having issues with this new system also. Not blaming the ones I talked to, they were all very nice. Thinking next time we have to chose between the FSA or HSA it will be the HSA. Hopefully it will be easier to understand and deal with.

Do NOT recommend this product

Each month I have to call customer service to fix an issue with my account. I'm asked if my account was set up correctly and have to explain that if I knew that I wouldn't be calling for assistance. I'm then told "I've never seen this before" and then wait on hold for 15-20 minutes only to be given a ticket number and told technical support is working to resolve the issue.

Completely useless

BASICBenefitsApp is pathetic. Doesn't work for enrollment. Payments and credits are unclear. Have spent hours and hours on the phone with basic to simply enroll in cobra medical, dental, vision benefits. Representatives are helpful but it has taken 5 weeks to straighten this mess out and there is always another glitch to work thru. Strongly consider other benefit administration providers for your employees. As a user, BASICBenefitsApp is useless! I would date as zero stars if I could.

This app is not intuitive

The update to BASICBenefitsApp is quite disappointing. While it looks nice, nothing is as easily found as in their previous version. If you are able to see details of your past submissions of expenses, I had no luck finding them after searching for several minutes. I also could not find how to submit a receipt/bill either. Myself and my colleagues are all quit unhappy with this update and are unfortunately disappointed on its user-friendliness.

Company in Question

This company is very hard to deal with. They seem to question receipts for the purpose of not wanting to pay the amount. I had all things in order and the reimbursement was denied 3 times because they said the date of service was not on the receipt. It definitely was and the credit card receipt had the same date but it was still questioned. I have spent hours on this and it should take ten minutes. Be very leery of this company.

Horrible

Nice app, horrible customer service. They refuse to reimburse “my money” for what is clearly a medical hospital procedure with endless verification request. They claim to have paid doctors, but collect notices continue from allegedly paid doctors. Called to customer service waited, only to be put on hold 3 separate occurrence, they answer and say they check into it but then nobody ever returned back to the your call. Waiting on hold for 1 hours, finally hung up. Still nothing resolved and my paycheck contribution continue to roll in. What a scam.

Constant verification needed

BASICBenefitsApp would be amazing if I didn’t have to constantly provide verification for every single expense. Especially considering 99% of them are directly from the dr office or hospital. 50% of what I’ve paid off has constantly popped up with verification needed in order to pay. I submit it and then days later it says verification is needed again. They all have at least 4 pictures each that I’ve had to resubmit. Super annoying, I just want to be done with them and move on.

System down

Attempted to use my basic card for prescriptions I picked up yesterday it was declined twice at the pharmacy. when I attempted to request reimbursement yesterday it got denied again. I was not notified of the system being down it would be nice if we got updates when the system is down and being updated. it was quite an embarrassment. thank goodness I have the funds in my bank to pay for it I can imagine those who didn’t have the funds and went without their medication‘s.

Basic went downhill this year

BASICBenefitsApp is clunky and suddenly this year BASIC is asking for re-verification of all my requests, and I have been using them for a year and a half with no issuers until this April. I don’t know if they got new staff or what but when I have to re-verify every transaction it is ridiculous, especially when I could just get a bigger tax deduction instead of dealing with this hassle every pay period. I have been successfully using Basic with no issues until now, but am very displeased and will consider canceling this altogether

Poor UI, hard to navigate

Poor user experience. Menus and options in places that do not make sense. The drop down UI of menu options is buggy and doesn’t work well. Options aren’t selected easily and BASICBenefitsApp freezes often. The support system is not consistent. The money transfer to a bank account works well, so that’s the most important part, but how to set it up is not easy.

Only works sometimes

I guess everything Basic does is basic. Their website and app both only work periodically. They crash way more often than they load. Ridiculous when it takes 3hrs to upload a receipt because of garbage technology they use.

Buggy, inconsistent

Overall this is much easier than the former BASIC interface except the onus is on you to transfer money from their holding account to your own bank. (No thanks on them tracking my non medical spending habits! Too messy keeping eligible FSA purchases separate from “my money”... if it doesn’t auto approve your purchases it seems it’ll be taken out of your reimbursement!)

App is very buggy. “Remember me” at sign in won’t remember me. Nothing prompts Apple to save my password, either.

Attaching verification results in a green spinning circle. You have to close BASICBenefitsApp and go back in where it still says Attach Verification but is somehow attached, possibly leading to upload the same item several times (I just had this happen). Each subsequent time it gets +1 step further and then does the green “spinning circle of death”.

Lastly, and this is perhaps an issue with BASIC, their approvals are widely inconsistent. I uploaded one proof for a copay and they said OK, uploaded same proof for a second one and they said No, Need More Verification. (Of which I didn’t get an email notification, so the overall notifications are WIDELY inconsistent and untimely. I have to be proactive to monitor reimbursement requests daily.)

Convenient but needs improvement

Nice to be able to submit reimbursement with phone, but there is not enough options to classify the expenses, for instance if you are charged more than the copay in a visit, then you can only pick copay and only reimbursed for that. There is no option to add up more than one payment.

Overall visually better but no biometric sign on

Compared to the old app this is app is better. Haven’t had any issues yet. I use BASICBenefitsApp often and it’s annoying that FaceID was removed. Logging into BASICBenefitsApp is now a pain. It’s almost 2021

Last version was better

BASICBenefitsApp is so much worse than the last version. Far less user friendly. As the guy who has to teach everyone else how to use it, this most recent version chokes on donkey cocks.

Flawed program

The program doesn’t process all claims correctly. Just had an express scripts co pay they processed as a charge and not a medical expense. You have to monitor your expenses to closely. I have expenses submitted directly from my dentist and eye doc that aren’t getting processed, even when billed by them. BASICBenefitsApp needs work
