Best top down zombie survival game

Yes there is a formula. Yes they all look the same. I’ve played several. This one I actually feel invested in, though, because it’s a show I’m vaguely familiar with. It has the cleanest UI and the female characters aren’t scantily clad help me senpai uwu with the dudes being Buff Guys™️ saving damsels in distress. If I’m gonna stick with any, it’ll probably be this one. Maybe there will be cool mini games like some others. My suggestions to the developers are to play their competitors’ games and consider adding mini games similar to what they do, like actually taking a small group of survivors on a mission and doing almost like a mini tower defense but at a location you’re trying to explore for resources, instead of just sending a character away and poof resources. There should be an option to do it automatically like the way it is now, and then for some extra XP or something do it more involved. I like the formations and how matching certain characters makes the formation overall more powerful. I wish I could create my own character and edit looks as well as buffs, like a real RPG, instead of being this benevolent "boss" and thats who I am. Make me a character, make my decisions matter in terms of how we interact with other groups, etc. Thank you 🙏🏻

Trash

Was booted out of a clan for no reason and can’t join another for 12 hours. This game is expensive and I’m a diligent player actively playing constantly. This game is trash and is not fun anymore. Do yourself a favor and skip this game. Don’t skip it because I’m mad but because I’m a honest reviewer. These almost 5 star reviews are fake. This game is superrrrr expensive and they make it so you have to pay to play and it’s a bit wild for the cost just to do simple things. Upgrading players and builders doesn’t help it just makes it harder and when you upgrade and think your getting stronger they add several hours or days in between to be able to play unless you “buy” things needed to speed up the time or certain goods and it’s usually both. Once you spent an absurd amount of money then you can upgrade or complete but then you gotta spend more to do it all over again. Ten dollars for resources that sometimes don’t even help just to increase somthing so minimal is crazy. 99$ gets you jack crap to or like if you want a player you gotta spend 20$ from the elite shop lol but it can only reach level thirty and then you gotta buy “fragments” and you need a ton of them to upgrade so in reality it’s like several hundred. It’s a greedy and sneaky way to profit and I can’t lie they are doing it and can’t be mad at the hustle but as a consumer that’s not good business. Won’t be lasting long either.

Well Worth It

I’ve played many games like this one, just different genres. Games that appear to be almost identical. Build your army and base, gather resources, join a guild or clan, and raid other bases. But this one is different. You don’t have to spend money to earn the gems that speed everything up. I played for a few days and was already wiping the floor with enemies and moving up the ranks in my guild. Plus, having this type of game in a zombie genre works really well. I love the added detail to the voice acting within dialogue and cutscenes. This game is worth the download and will keep you entertained for a very long time. I normally don’t play games for too long on my phone as they are all pay to win and full of ads and micro transactions, but this game has no ads and don’t rely on micro transactions to succeed. Great game

Pay to play

This is a pay to play game. Not a bad game, but you need to buy in order to keep up. That’s not so bad, but when you buy, then dont get what you bought, but get an error message instead, that tells you to contact support, then wait for hours before getting a response, which in the meantime you use other resources, which you paid for in the long run anyway, and then get what you did pay for, because it was obviously paid for, then the rep asks if you think you should be compensated, and you thank them and tell them you’d appreciate that, and they come back and tell you, “nope, that’s a network issue, no compensation”
That, after buying things for several days running. You would think they would want to keep paying customers happy, but apparently they make more then they need. I didn’t mind spending a little bit, but since I see their greed, probably spent my last in it. Plenty of other games
P.S.
After telling the rep that I would go do a review, I was filling out the review as to the performance of the customer service, and in the middle of filling it out, the game, for the first time ever, suddenly shuts down and the review can’t be brought back up.

Read the negative reviews. Don’t do it.

I’ve played for about 6 months and paid about $200 into the game. Read the negative reviews and don’t get sucked into this game. It has a lot going for it. It’s fun to meet people from around the world and create cooperative groups to move forward. However, the negatives outweigh the positives. It is absolutely pay to win. Realize there are some people out there who will waste tens of thousands of dollars on this game to bully everyone around. When a few of these people join together, the game is over for everyone else. One of these top spenders can take out an entire clan of a hundred people. After this, you either live under a shield with limited activity, or you sit on the season 1 map and farm vegetables, which is absolutely boring. In the last season they allowed several clans in a server to join into mega-clans. Inevitably, one of these servers will create a mega clan that is stronger than all of the servers on the map put together. At this point there is zero competition because no one else stands a chance. The game is essentially over unless you want to spend thousands of dollars. Simply put, this is a game for people with no skills and a lot of money to waste so they can bully others around. Don’t do it, there are lots of good games out there.

Watch out

While the game can be fun to play, it seems to have a certain amount of bugs and be careful about spending. I had a friend magically have $1700 stolen out of his account shortly after buying something for this game! He wasn’t able to use it because of a bug and when he contacted the GM, there were all these charges to his account. 2nd, you can’t delete the your account! If you ‘bind’ your account, they have your Facebook info and Facebook book is big on selling your info. But in general, there is no way for you to just delete and you should be able to. I even looked it up and still no info. This seems to be a trend with games now, why these games are so bent on hanging on your info is obvious. 3rd, it’s pay to win. Don’t spend a lot of money on thing that doesn’t exist or brings you benefits in RL. I can see $.99 here $4.99 there once in a while. But there are people who spend $100s if not $1000s. Why? It’s a ‘rinse and repeat’ type of game. And you know the developers are like - sucker! ; 3

And to the developers- why should I send a screenshot of any type of feature? You should know your own game. Please respect people’s privacy and rights and create a way for them to leave, you’re just trapping them and their info.

Pay to win, don’t waste your time.

The game’s art style is pretty lame, I’ve seen browser games with better art direction and style. Over all, the gameplay is pretty much what you’d expect from a clash of clans-esque game. You build your town hall, you upgrade buildings and you train your troops. Rinse, and repeat, it gets really boring and pointless after about a month. The in game events are as boring as it’s art style is, they lack creativity and diversity. The rewards usually force you into spending other precious resources, and they are leaderboard driven, so anyone willing to dish out real life money will be the ones to take the gem rewards. You could save a month’s worth of speed ups, but it is so dissatisfying once it is all said and done. The pvp is the worst part of this game, IT IS PAY TO WIN. You can pay to skip town hall levels, you can pay to upgrade your equipment, and you can obviously pay to roll the loot boxes. You can pretty much imagine the state of the game, it’s very one sided, and not even worth your time. I played for two months and checked out a couple of regions just to give my review, unless the devs fix the pay to win, which they won’t, I recommend you save your time/money and take it elsewhere.

Same old thing, pay to win

Playing for an good while, 11 million plus power. Nothing fun here

Uses, the common build blueprint as all the rest of these kind of games. The ones that spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars win. I kind of expected more from the title. Only one side game that’s very limited and not so fun. However, if you like being farmed all the time from people that spent lots of cash on the game then you might like it also has the common thing that you get hit and loss an bunch of troops and resources, and then get the joy of using all the rest of your resources to heal your troops, just in time to be hit again..... joy joy Oh, and the game is full of tile hitters too! Means they attack your gathering troops all the time. Wished it was more like the show, and not so Pay to win. Stopped paying since I’d need to spend about an $1000 to get into the top 100 players. So FTP now time waster. Been playing for an few months about 8 million power. The only thing that’s better, is that I can at lest farm without getting hit every time I send troops out. Still give it one star though. I guess I’m only playing cause of the show!

Money trap

Well I liked the game. I dropped $200 cash on the game got hooked. Just over 4 million power things started slowing down so I decided to play 2 at once. Started a new one in another area again dropped about $50 to start. Well that was a huge mistake. I couldn’t collect my gifts after the new update. I mean all the gifts from like save Rick, survivors, and more. So I sent a ticket with screen shots. Said in the description I cleaned catch as well as uninstalled and reinstalled the game. These fools of course sent a message back telling me to do just that. Saying it is most likely my phone issue or internet connection. Seriously!!! Said do all that and if it doesn’t work message back and they will go from there. Ok!! So do you guys even read or do you generate the same message to everyone. Well because of your insolence I lost several chances to collect gifts. As well as a sweet glitch of my shield supposed to have 12 hours left and suddenly dropped and I lost millions of resources and troops. Thank you very much for taking my money and not even trying to fix your glitches. I know how to keep your game running BLAME the players!!

Not worth it

I’ve played the game for several days now. It all went so well and I was really super impressed….UNTIL you get to level 12 then you have to pay for missing items you can’t get when you hit camps to upgrade buildings. I looked at the price to upgrade twice and it’s to expensive. Even the shields are expensive. I’m just waiting for some event to happen that allows players to attack me and kill the troops I made 🤣🤣. I’m in a top 1 alliance and I’m sure they will help me, but I doubt I will be going level 13 anytime soon due to missing items you can’t even buy in the alliance store or anywhere else unless you pay for them, which I’m not going to do. I can already tell that will probably be the case from level 12 and up that in order for me to grow I have to spend. Also from reading all the reviews from more than a year ago it doesn’t seem like they will be making any changes to non spenders being able to enjoy the game like spenders do. It seems like they have to many spenders to even think about non spenders so they will remain greedy and keep the game the same way to make money.

Goods and bads

The game is fun in its own special way. Yes it is a pay to play game and I have noticed not everyone pays the same rates. The US pays more than Korea which allows Koreans and Chinese to increase their power faster making the game difficult to compete with. I think the prices need to be lowered and more rationally thought through when putting these higher priced bundle packages out. Remember developers, everyone doesn’t make money like others. Make the prices more fair and realistic. We all understand that people make money off of games. However, be understanding and realistic with some of these prices. Don’t force people to pay to play but allow them to still be able to power themselves up without using money. Because even though I pay to play I still agree that these prices need to be fair and the gameplay needs to more understanding to the everyday players financial standings. Fix that and you will earn more and get my 5 star review.

Turning into pay to win money grab

I played up to town hall level 17 in one region without spending any money. I thought the pacing was really good and I was competitive despite the fact some people had a slight advantage by paying for things. I decided to use what I learned from my first play through and start a new game in a freshly made region. I was even contemplating buying something to help the developer as I had been really enjoying the game. That was until I realized they moved the 3rd building queue you get from a fairly low level (I can’t remember what it was but it was probably around level 10) all the way to level 22. They are trying to get you to pay for one of the many different ways they offer more building queues for money.

I still think it is a decent game but I am really disappointed to see the direction the developer is going. They are trying to force the pay to win aspect when I was more than willing to throw some cash at them before they started to show their true colors.

Best game I've ever played!

This is one of the funnest games, it's kind of like Top War. You can meet people from all over the world, even if they don't speak your language. Don't listen to any bad reviews, although I do spend money on the game I don't agree it's pay to win. You can absolutely be a top player as long as you invest time into the game like the people who pay do. I read through the bad reviews and it sounds to me like the one's complaining are people that are inactive and don't really know how the game works.
I got addicted to this game as soon as I started! The best part is when you first start you're with other players who are new too so you guy's grow together. So, if you're wanting to download a game you can get lost in, this is a sure way to go.

Doesn’t have to be a freemium game

My experience with these types of games is that they always seem to trap you. You’ll get so far when you have your starter shield, but once you reach a certain level. It’s very hard to progress in the game unless you P2P. But not this game! I have spent money (maybe $30) and I’ve had this game for about 1-2 months. And the reason I spent that money was to get more resources. I didn’t need to but I’m super impatient lol the point of this review is to tell you all that this game is the best MMORPG! They have events in the game where you can receive a TON of resources and 8hr shields (rescue Rick). Plus their daily challenge rewards are fantastic as well. Give this game a try! And once you start, you have more success if you join a clan ASAP. Hope this helps!

Consistent crashing on iPad iOS

I’ve played for over 2 years and invested considerably in the game. Over the past several months the game has become intolerably unstable on the iPad iOS and Elex will not acknowledge there is a problem. Instead they are giving priority to expanding TWDS to the PC and offer that as an alternative. They’ve seem to have forgotten the players that have supported them for years to attract PC gamers instead. I have two iPads and dedicate one to just TWDS with no other apps installed and more than half the 32GB of storage available but the game continues to crash often. My iPhone is more stable but is difficult to during outpost battles to war on a small screen. I have VIP status on two accounts but I get vague general statements that the Devs have been notified. Yet, 3 updates have passed like this one and no mention or improvement on iPad stability. Only, more improvements about the PC platform. I play less now and will eventually quit unless something is done to fix the problem.

Not bad

The game IS a re-skin from other games but it’s not bad.

PROs:

Dynamic regional(server) play with objectives gated by time, the first week is super boring but begins to pick up after that.

The chat function is better than 2/3 of the other games in this genre.

Clan management interface is useful.

Can play with spending minimally and be somewhat successful.

CONs:

Chinese game owned, operated and developed by three different Chinese companies. They track you, record you, and share your private information. READ THE PRIVACY DOCUMENT...all of them.

Unpolished, was not ready to come out of beta testing. Unable to contact people through other alliance interfaces, on the R4. The server lag is very bad, often. Combat mechanics are solely based on your survivors (you don’t have to spend but if you don’t, never expect to be successful).

Mechanics:

There is a cap on how many resources clan members may receive from others, due to how the gates in this game are based on resource cost, this forces people to pay for resources rather than to join a team and receive meaningful support.

There is no ‘gift’ option to where you may gift items in game to your clan mates

The clan support system is gutted to support the companies income scheme.

There’s more but I’ve already written enough, hope this helps.

Worst Developers and help desk in history of games

All games have bugs and issues however it is up to the developers and the help desk to make things right. Recently played in a tournament in which we won even thought other team was stronger and managed to have more than the 30 limit. Because the losing team complained we have to have a rematch. They compensated us with 200 gems which doesn’t even cover one march speed. The game clearly favors some regions and players more then others which doesn’t sit well with me. This game use to be fun .. it use to be fair .. now it’s completely garbage. Play any game over this.
They told me not to complain here but here is the only place they will listen.

Horrible Experience

All in all for zillion of reasons not happy have to say I am surprisingly to myself a serious fwd person not to elaborate to much simply this is an entirely different game play than the ads portray no 1st person fighting more like a strategy rpg game I guess Anyhow it was ages ago I was going to play that upon seeing initial charges backed out than recently saw icon on my phone and opened to check out what was up and yes sincerely somehow over at least a month after I took a glimpse at game it charged lord knows I suppose my apple account for game don’t think I will take time to figure out what where that charge is yet that is hella not cool an eon ago I scoped this game retreated and somehow swear Ages later it’s high jacked me for a payment somewhere. Be forewarned simply stay away these crooks are just that playing off a good show leaving a horrible stench and tainting the show. Don’t play be really careful even checking it out they very well who know when will get you incorrectly. Don’t Play StayAway

Mike M.

There comes a point in most online games, especially free ones, where you can’t just play to enjoy. The options run out, you need to wait on the clock to continue play, etc....in this game, you run out of the ability to engage targets, obtain items, increase reserves on the world map because you run out of gems. Well, 5e only recourse is to pay money for more. MOST people over 30-35 WON’T spend their hard-earned money on a simple game, no matter how exciting it is. For those who are unable to work(disabled workers, disabled Vets like myself, and retired folks, also like myself, just wont part with limited income on a game. There NEEDS to be an alternative, not necessarily and EQUAL alternative to “getting 500 gems for $9.99....” but something ethically, morally reasonable. People aren’t as ignorant or gullible as politicians would have us believe! MAKE people WANT to stay with your games!

Equipment Taken Away

Question why did the last update take players equipment away and give them nothing. I worked very hard for my equipment and when I come back to the game it is all gone. Due to this my stats went down drastically and my characters gear is gone. Why? Does the game want the community to spend more money on this game or make it more difficult to advance against the players that spend money like there is no tomorrow. I can tell you that I am in server 143 and a player by the name of Reaperof143 is very vulgar and cares about nothing only to disrespect other players due to his stats. He has made other players leave server 143 due to his arrogance and just attacking players he does not like. Not very good for players trying to advance in the game and then the game taking away stuff they need to become better. Fix this and this player that all he is doing is making players leave due to his stats and the game taking stuff needed to become better to face him.

Money Eater

If you don’t know how to spend your money, this game will help you to spend it shortly without being noticed. To have five nice cars, prepare $50K. To have five nice skins for your town prepare another $50K. To have five nice fully upgraded survivors for your army you need another $50K. And you can imagine the rest. Is that enough? Are you kidding me? Just for a few months, you still need a constant $50K to upgrade them from one season to another. You may ask yourself why shouldn’t I buy a PS5 with all accessories needed for $1k and pay monthly subscriptions to play online games that fully recognizable internationally. Would you regret it? I don’t think so. This game will take thousands and thousands of dollars to fill your leisure time, and you may have some joys at the beginning to role other spenders, or burn the towns of non-spenders, but soon later, you will see yourself in the middle of poisonous relationships with strangers around the world that they are waiting for you to spend more and more to cheerleading you to be their boss.

This game is the most greediest game that I have ever played. After playing this game for about one year and half, I can say that I felt how one can be stupid and moron. If you want to feel it too, play this game!

DO NOT PLAY!!!

I have been playing this game for over 2-1/2 years straight and have enjoyed playing the entire time due to the friends you meet along the way. BEWARE: It is free to play but you have to spend a lot to compete and continue to spend to stay competitive. I understood this going into the game and accepted this fact. However, with a recent bug in the game that was exploited by some of the players, the developers decided to reset the vehicles of most players. I spent over $3000 and played 2-1/2 to get my vehicles where they were before the bug and they were reset over night. The developers claimed to have compensated everyone for all that was lost but the compensation was not even close to what I lost. I have been in contact with customer service and provided proof with screenshots of my vehicles before and after the bug, however, they refuse to fix the problem. This is the case for numerous players I have been in contact with. The developers essentially stole my money due to bug a that they caused and customer service refuses to give it back. IF YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
