About to be an amazing game

I got this because I get a random IOS game every few days and wanted to try this one out because it seemed like a cool concept. 1 week later and I’m hooked. It is very similar to pokemon GO but it captured aspects of AR that need to be had that GO didn’t have. It did amazing at being interactive game. If you have an AR game you’re going outside to play it and thats way more fun to do with friends. That spreads the word but unlike pokemon GO it gives you a reason to want to make your friends play with you. Not only can you use friends to help you with group challenges but you can also build, use, and upgrade structure with one another. You can even teleport across the world to a friend to share the wealth of a rare zombie/crate spawn or etc. This is a big thing AR games need that this game capitalized on perfect. Now this game is new so I understand it’s still under development and has more features to come but i feel like to further immerse yourself there should be more interactivity like fighting infestations with friends or trading with friends or maybe have a setting where if turned on you can see where other groupmates are on the map. This and maybe character customization and other fun things would be great for this game and I really hope updates keep coming through with big features that make the game even more addictive. 5/5 stars I highly suggest you try this game out and play it with some friends.

Great game

I love this game and I’ve grown to be addicted to it honestly I love the group challenge missions and the aspect of the flairs. There is a great variety of weapons, characters and perks and they aren’t to hard to get due to the fact you can build building like armories(weapon),warehouses(perks), Trade Post( coins) and shelters( characters). Trading post coins are hard to get though and regular Coins for upgrading your cards are hard to get but I’m fine with waiting and saving them rather than paying to play. One thing they could add to make the game better would be making it to where you can get experience for killing zombies to make leveling easier because the only way to level is to upgrade your cards. A lot of people claim they are forced to pay to play but no one is forced to pay to play that is their choice I’m already level 10 and having no problems except for the few times my game has to reload due to an error of some sort but I’m sure they will fix that in time. I play Pokémon go and honestly Pokémon go has never really made me want to walk anywhere but this game has me wanting to walk everywhere. Supply drops are easy to find and not to far to walk to, also I love that they reset after 30 min. I find myself spending hours playing this game and when my energy runs out I’m happy cause that’s when I do the daily missions on my other game or just take a break. Over all I’m very happy with the turn out.

Decent

Pretty good game when you first start playing. It has a really good concept behind it and it seems like everything is fine and dandy, but there are a few things that can be reworked. First off, I feel as if I’m not getting enough from this game. I’m finding that I can’t upgrade the things I need to in order to complete raider attacks, higher level infestation, etc. I find myself buying more money than packages with my special currency and it just seems kinda unfair. I feel like their should be more variety to this game as well, along with a rework of the AI. A character can be attacked by a walker for one second and have to recover for over an hour? Seems a little overboard. Either way, I was really hooked onto this game until I came into this huge roadblock that stopped me from progressing further than I’d like. Yes, part of this game is amazing but there could be SO MUCH more to it. Although I don’t get out much, I understand this could be why I’m feeling stuck. But if we look at other AR games similar to this (such as Pokémon GO or Jurassic Park) I can get WAY more out of those games by sitting in my house than I can with Our World. Once again, great game but you guys could definitely do so much more with this. I was expecting a bit more considering how much success the show and other games had. Ended up deleting this after a month worth of play, beginning is great but you get stuck after that very quickly.

Only game I currently play

This game is awesome. It takes Pokémon Go and puts a walking dead twist on it. The game is up to date with different challenges you can do with your group still to this day and I feel it’s the perfect amount of things to do in an area before running out of energy. It gives your the option to travel around the map where you can find more energy to do more missions and even keep traveling with compasses you commonly find along the way which is cool. Although I wish the vip was permanent purchase, the vip was cheaper, it was slightly easier to find legendary cards after you find them the first time and I wish you could do bigger missions with linking up with your group I do I think the challenges potion of the game really helps in that area of actual teamwork. Overall, as a mobile game connoisseur this is currently the only game I consistent come back to. If you’ve read this entire review and still haven’t downloaded the game, I really hope you give it a try. I also hope this lets the developers know that if the vip was permanent and I could have darryls bike forever I’d pay the money I really like the game and I’d spend the 20 as I think a lot of other who are more invested than me would.

Get ready to PAY.

After several weeks of playing this game as much as I can, I have come to a few realizations. First off, when I saying playing as much as I can does not mean I don’t have the time. I could easily play this game for hours at a time. But, for some mind boggling reason, they have saddled the game with needing Energy. Why? I AM the energy in an AR location based game. This is for the sole reason of making you pay to play. The family and I do after dinner walks and half of us end up back on Pokémon because we’re out of energy on this one. NOT a way to keep people playing.
The other issue is similar but with the in game coins. Again, you can grind all day (assuming you have the Energy!), and you will NEVER make enough coins to even update the cards that matter, much less any of the others. This is done so that, you guessed it, you HAVE to pay for coins.
I love the game. I really do. Otherwise I wouldn’t sink as much time as it can into it. It just feels a little predatory for me to put in so much time only to be FORCED to pay. It’s one thing for a developer to OFFER in game purchases. It’s another thing altogether when you FORCE me to.
The player base is already dying out locally because of this. If things don’t change, this thing will be deader than a walker a month from now...
Last thing: why are all the survivors that need saving female? Do you have any idea how insulting it is that the only people in Our World who need saving are women?!?!?

Fun game but a money grab aimed at whales

They get an extra star because the game is fun. But what could be an amazing GPS based AR game is crippled by time gates and p2w. GPS AR games are meant for you to walk around, explore, and play. They completely handicap this game by allotting “energy” which you need to attack. Attacks use 1-5 energy to perform and it regenerates at a rate of 1 every 5 minutes. This means that you could play for 10 minutes and have to wait for THREE HOURS for your energy to completely regenerate. Imagine if PoGo did this. Probably wouldn’t have made a billion dollars. The in game store is a bit ridiculous too with card packs and gold packs ranging anywhere from $5-$100. The packs which drop legendary cards are the most expensive. Flares, used to call teammates to a location, are essential to team game play and cost ~$2 each in the store and have ridiculously low drop rates in game. If the game crashes during a flare or in the middle of an attack you lose he resources and basically SOL.

Game mechanics and the store aside. The game is currently experiencing numerous game breaking bugs including extended mass server outages, random unexplained demotion in weekly group progression rankings, extreme lag, client crashes, etc. Heck, they can’t even fix the annoying permanent alert badge on the game icon.

If you decide to play beware of these issues and I’d be hesitant to spend real world $ on the game until many if not all of these issues are addressed.

Fun

The game is fun to play and to work together with other members to get on the leader board, I have played for over a year now, I did quit for a while, I just got busy, and was kicked from my group, after 21 days it’s auto, if you don’t want to spend money you don’t have too if your willing to grind, I don’t mind spending a little to help support the game, I wish they had more infestations in my area since I can’t go fair at this time, hopefully most will be reading this after the worst has past, this game has helped to pass the time since the lockdown, and even giving free gifts, and adding extra things, the dev team has tried to take care of us, I have a nice collection of cards, the energy can be challenging but I seem to be able to play a lot without to many issues, and you can buy energy with coins instead of gold which help, I see some calling it pay to play but that’s not true from what I have seen, the money I spent didn’t feel forced but optional, and they reward for it, I hope to keep enjoying the game, Twd is a fun way to spend your downtime, I enjoy my group, encounters, raiders, and infestations, they keep improving the gameplay and has come a long way since I have played

Good game but... (updated)

If your a fan of The Walking Dead and Pokemon Go, this game is right up your alley. Its got good graphics, characters from the show, and easy enough to just pick up and play. It definitely has the potential to be an awesome game in the near future. The only negatives that i've come across are the gameplay is very repetitive (shooting at zombies in an alley or warehouse... every encounter, every time). But the biggest issue by far are the server issues. I have an iPhone X and this game crashes CONSTANTLY, i'm lucky to get a decent 5 min session of playing time in, but usually it crashes every couple mins. My wife has an iPhone 8 Plus and her doesn't seem to crash nearly as often but still has some issues with it. If they can get the server issues corrected and add just a little variety to the encounters, i’d give this game 5 stars and would highly recommend it. As the game is now, i would say its cool and at least worth checking out if you can get over the crashing issue.

*Update* - After playing this game for a few weeks now, they have fixed the server issues i had and this game is awesome!! If your a walking dead fan, Definitely at least try this game out... its totally worth the download. Well done Devs!! 👍🏼

Great game, but there’s still room for improvement.

I love the game but it would be better if flares were more readily available. Also one hour for a flare is not a very long especially when people work and it’s hard to get people on all at the same time. I’d like to see the flares go to about three hours. I think that would make that aspect of the game a lot better. Also it would be nice to be able to fast travel to all of your warehouse’s or shelters that you have laid down without actually having to go there. You could also battle what’s in the surrounding areas also. It’s inconvenient to have to travel everywhere to play the game. Although I like that aspect of the game it would just be nice to be able to have more to do when you’re laying in bed at night. This would also give you the ability to make sure that your buildings are not disappearing because you would be able to upgrade them more from wherever you’re at. It’s hard to get a bunch of people in the same area to try to keep your warehouses/shelters up and running. Thanks! Hopefully you’ll take my suggestions into consideration. If some of these things happened I would definitely give this a 5 star review. The last update was good. I like getting the flares as you lvl up.

Great game that needs tweaking

I have read alot of people talk about the energy problem, i like how it is done, it actually lets put the phone done to be in the real world while it recharges. I think the weekly challenges is perfect. It allows for your whole clan to get involved and it doesn’t reset which is good. The only two complaints i have is the server really needs some work, guessing that is a known issue. The other is leveling up. This game has been built on really...coins and how many you have. The only way to level up semi quick is upgrading cards which cost coins. Every so often if you do a rare infestation youll get upgrade points but they are called rare for a reason. There has to be more ways to level up or you will hit a point where you need 800 cards to level up a card that might give you 10 if that card is awarded. Just my opinion maybe its cause i have hit that point where i cant level up or taking forever just to get one card to upgrade. Over all its a great game, i can see it dieing down if some tweaks arent made.

Change of Opinion

This is my second time reviewing TWD Our World. My first review have the game 5 stars, and I commented that I had not experienced any of the bugs or issues that so many others had been complaining of. It’s only been a couple of weeks since I wrote it, and now I’m thinking I jinxed the game on my devices. As of late, I am constantly dealing with glitches, freezes, and connection issues, like multiple times per day, and even sometimes per hour. I play on both an IPad 5th gen, an iPhone 11, and iPhone 7. All devices are fully up to date, and have plenty of free memory. The problems occur across all 3 devices, so it’s not an issue with the devices themselves. My internet connection speed is good, wifi connection is not bogged down or overburdened with other connections or streaming, and router has been reset. It’s not a problem with how it’s configured either, as the game had been working flawlessly over my WiFi until just recently. The problems persist when I’m using cellular data as well.
Considering all of the above, I think it’s safe to say it’s not a hardware problem on my end, so I can only surmise it must be a software issue with the game. Anyway, I still love this game, but I could love it more if I didn’t have to keep dealing with all the problems it’s having.

Too many glitches & support won’t compensate

I waited for months to do this review because I wanted to get all the feel for the game I could before doing so.
First let me say I absolutely love this game and I have the best team possible. We are very loyal and spend hard earned money and tons of time to advance in the game.
We have ran into so many glitches it’s unreal. I have sent support so many messages and they always answer but they’re not very helpful when it comes to being fair.
My whole team was trying to finish a board but due to all the glitches we all faced, we couldn’t finish near as fast. I sent support a message asking if they could compensate us for all the resources we had lost (that we bought with real money) due to all the glitches but was told “sorry they would work on the glitches”. I wasn’t trying to get anything for free, I simply wanted to be compensated for all we had lost but that never happened. I even sent screenshots to show them but that didn’t matter. It’s not fair nor is it right for us to spend real money (some of us over $100) and to lose half of our resources due to their errors.
Honestly we have all talked about leaving this game and finding another that would be more understanding and supportive instead of greedy.

The sheep are getting so dumb they will actually pay for google to track them.

I saw the add for this game somewhere, television, facebook, it really doesn’t matter. What caught my attention from the ad was the "AR" feature. I thought, “what the heck, let’s give it a try.” So I go to TheWalkingDead store, and find the game and immediately The Walking Dead: Our World, made with Google Maps. A little alarm went off but we’ll get to that later. So I download and start playing. Let’s talk about gameplay. First off, the AR feature is almost unplayable. It’s garbage. No further description needed. Second, you need walk around to find spawn points for the missions. They are easily found because they are indicated by a light shining up from the ground, but you have to be in range of the spawn point to open mission(part of the little alarm). Finally, once you open the mission you shoot the walkers with your chosen weapon and with the help of your chosen hero. Weapons and hero’s and perks can be upgraded. But the actual game play is very repetitive and predictable. It’s actually quite boring. So let’s get to the alarm. Come on people! This is quite literally a tracker for google to learn your travel habits! And the best part is people will actually pay for this via the in app purchases. So move along sheep, nothing to see hear. Just remember, “Brawndo’s have what plants crave. It’s got electolytes.”

New Golden Card Suggestion and Material Suggestions

This game is extremely great, I can play for hours! I have a few suggestions though, coins, energy, and Carl Grimes. So for the coins, I’d like a little tinker with them, meaning I’d like for you guys to increase the amount of coins earned in missions, trading posts, and tier board challenges. For the energy, I’d like the pack’s price inside the shop to be decreased on certain days, such as a %25 on certain things on certain days, I’d also like for energy to be easier to get, gaining more energy from supply boxes. Last but not least, Carl Grimes, I know you guys had already made Carl Grimes a card, but he is only the Blue Card Rarity (Rare), I’d like you guys to make a new card for Carl, make him a legendary, I suggest that you could make the one eye Carl, a legendary card, but that card has already been made into a Blue Card, so you guys could make the young Carl, the moment before his eyes got shot in season 6, basically the season 6 Carl with both eyes. Please read my review, and if you are, I’d like all 3 of my wishes to come true, have a nice day, your game is awesome!

You know what they say location, location, location.

I have enjoyed playing this game since downloading it ,however, it has not been something that happened often, not because I don’t want to play but because nothing is happening for me to play it. If you live in a rural area as I unfortunately do and have a lot of property you will be lucky to find a couple of crates, maybe a survivor or 2 (that is if you lucky) and as for raiders, I had to drive to a subdivision about 5 minuets away for the first one I have played. Using your actual location is an interesting concept and I have enjoyed playing whenever I was lucky enough to find something, but it also makes it more difficult for anyone who is not living in a decently populated area, which I guess is what makes it have this interesting realism. Since living in the middle of nowhere is my problem and nothing really to do with the game my only complaint is I have already noticed that the amount of coins you receive for missions is very low and I could see this becoming another one of those games that you have to spend a decent amount of money or leveling up will be extremely difficult.

Failed to succeed

This game should not have energy drinks to do sub fights or major zombie fighting. Due to the fact You the “player” is the one walking around and finding your own supplies not the character playing as you the “player”. The only time the energy drinks should count is when you are invading someone else. And to top it all off, the game is way to glitchy and laggy.
This game is totally not worth the space, stars, nor money , or any type of reviews. This game is a virtue reality game that should not require certain levels to attack zombies. If you ask me, if a zombie apocalypse was to really happen it is a risk it all type game not a level capacity.
The creator of the game should remove the the characters head off of the right side of the screen and just put the missions on the right. With all of the heads piled up for advertising, you guys hiding the story mission.
You guys are pushing for money not for the consumers enjoyment. Instead of advertising all different characters separately for money. you guys should put them in random bags. Such like the game like clash royal. Give the consumer one free bag, gold bars, energy drinks, or etc. a day. And sell one legendary card randomly daily for real life currency. Always keeping the consumer on the look out for new exciting cards.

Potential

This game is quite fun when you have extra time on your hands, and at times becomes dramatic as you race against the clock to clear boards for your clan. Personally I don’t advise spending any money in this game- no matter how appealing it may become. Go ahead and do so if your intent is to support the creators as the rewards otherwise aren’t worth it. There are plenty of balancing issues- ie: Different packs of wildly importunate value, daily quests which devalue the premium currency, board difficulty. Anyways, the only other issue is ‘energy’ as it serves as the ‘pay-to-play’ format we all know and hate. As a player you should be the ‘energy’, and your experience should be based around how active you choose to be, and how much time you want to put in. Not an artificial wall. They did negate this to a degree by allowing you to purchase energy for a decent cost with the base currency. Aside from all of this, it’s not too bad. It shows plenty of potential and could be a really awesome game in the future.

Ehhh. Basically your typical tap n’ shoot game, but I makes you walk.

I was drawn to this due to the fact I believed it to be as advertised in the ad— something more along the lines of Pokémon GO! in that it superimposed in-game animations into the real world. I will say that it would be much more difficult to animate a bunch of moving zombies rather than a stationary Pokémon, but when I had my first encounter and realized it was just a narrow allyway of barely varying background and just a bunch of zombies that walk toward you. You just tap at their heads, and that comprises 95% of the game aside from walking and your typical rudimentary card system. I played until level 7, and even after fighting “Epic Infestations”, it became incredibly easy and boring. If you can touch a little head on a screen, you can play this game. I did enjoy the walking aspect, though the distances and GPS need a lot of work, but after walking 100 feet just to tap the screen a handful of times in the same setting nearly every time, it didn’t seem worth it. Interesting idea, and it has a lot of potential, but it’s just not that enjoyable, and wouldn’t be even if you were sitting. I did meet my daily steps easily though.

Actually like the game, but...

Beginning to hate it. First, you actually get penalized for spending money on the game. If you buy energy, you’re not allowed to pick any up that you find (same goes for all power-ups). Secondly, there are sooooo many glitches; they try to appease you by giving random free-bees to make up for them (pretty often actually), but it doesn’t make up for what you’ve wasted. Then, they keep “playing” with the settings; one day everything is easy-peasey, next you have trouble doing anything...consistency makes a game “understandable” or “fair”, if you will, inconsistency makes you want to quit and walk away, at least it does me...

*****Update***** This was fun, still is if you want game-play controlled by the developers, not you. They constantly manipulate the controls so that what you need is hard to find. Once you meet their goal, what was hard to find is EVERYWHERE. You’ll see what I mean. I played for a long time tolerating it, but things are frustrating enough these days, I don’t want my games to make things worse. All they would have to do is let things randomly generate, instead of manipulating everything, but that’s how they get you to spend even more money.

Was a great game but they fixed it for pay to win

This game has become completely unethical and greedy. The last few events could not be “won” without spending a lot of money. And they made sure of that. I play at least 12 times a day and travel while playing and during events I go multiple days without a event infestation or event to play. DAYS!!! They make it to where you can’t win without paying a lot of money. I even bought the “Bike” and didn’t even come close to any rewards because there was simply so event items to play. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! THEY ARE LITERALLY STEALING AND DONT CARE! They have ruined an awesome game and concept. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!

Update: it has gotten worse. The events and prizes cannot be won without spending money. How in a 4 day event you only get one mission maybe two pop up? 4 days!?!. I’m really sad because this is a great game but there is no longer any point in playing. I have spent money and have no problem supporting a game I like, but you can’t make it to were you have to pay because enough opportunities are purposefully not given so you have no choice if you want to win the events. I will now be deleting the game and wish I didn’t have to.
