eko — You Control The Story Reviews

I have played this interactive series and it is amazing. It’s like watching a television show and playing a game. It really makes you feel like you are part of the show. I really hope y’all introduce more series and I can’t wait to try them all. I also played clothes call. I wish they gave you more clothes options instead of two to pick from cause if you pick the wrong one then you next options linked to it. So I guess I wish the options were more independent of each other and not linked to your first choice cause I may have pick a different shoe if I had the option you don’t have much to work with. But overall ekoYouControlTheStory it self is awesome. I love it!

I’m sure a lot of this has to do with my phone being a few years old…but so are a lot of people’s phones, so I don’t feel unjustified. Video playback was a nightmare: I got about 2 seconds per frame, with audio stuttering throughout. Occasionally it froze for so long that I missed an entire choice I was supposed to make.

A lot of things could be done with this to make it interesting, and I hope they are done, but from what I saw, it was halfway between traditional video and interactive experience (also known as a game), with the worst of both video and games, rather than the best of both. I felt like I was watching a character external from myself, not playing a role like in many games, but unlike any traditional video, I was expected to understand the internal workings of a character whom I had no special information for. If you want to interact and play a role in telling a story, go all the way and check out something like one of Telltale’s games, Her Story, or Device 6, to name a few. If you want to watch video, just pick from any of the tons of streaming apps available, let it play back (mostly) without stuttering, and maybe use the passive nature to multi-task something else.

I really like the game and the story of the game, But I often find myself confused on when I’m supposed to or have made a choice. The choice concept is just far way too confusing to me. At the end of the episodes it shows me the choices I’ve made, But I get confused because I’m unaware of when I made those choices. And in episode 2 of hacking York I didn’t know I was supposed to take the pictures of Rafi( or whatever his name is) I had to figure it out myself. I’m not that far into the story but so far I never know when I’m supposed to click or make choices and whatnot, and it’s really annoying. Basically what I’m saying is it would be helpful if you state when a viewer is making a choice or has made a choice or has to interact with the screen. Nothing is wrong with a few pauses in between the scenes for when you are, have, or about to make a choice. But other then the choice concept the game is actually really good and unique.

Every time I play a episode a sign pops up saying “Project Crashed” and when I try again 2 minutes in it says it again.. This happens 5 times while watching the episode! I love this game and I would rate 5 stars but it has to be 3 now I’m sorry =(
I honestly don’t know if it’s my phone or ekoYouControlTheStory . I’ve reset my phone and even closed ekoYouControlTheStory more than once. I have no trouble with my phone so I’m pretty sure it’s ekoYouControlTheStory . If it is ekoYouControlTheStory then could you maybe check it out? And stop this from happening and if so I wouldn’t hesitate to submit 5 stars! It’s a great app like I said I really enjoy it and it’s a fast way to kill time it’s just that one problem I have.. I’ll try to work it out if it is my phone but could you still maybe check ekoYouControlTheStory to see if that maybe the cause? But other than that I totally recommend ekoYouControlTheStory to everyone!!

When I first opened ekoYouControlTheStory, honestly speaking I didn’t have high expectations for the show & yet I became so hooked to Epic Night. Even watched it twice & the fact that there’s a wide variety of content from Buzzfeed quiz’s,FBE Reacts to shows for kids & teens, etc makes ekoYouControlTheStory even more amazing. There’s something on this for everyone & I really hope they continue to make content because I’m excited to see what’s coming up as this is only the beginning. Would definitely recommend this!!

The first episode I started off with only lagged a couple of times, but when I tried interacting with the episode it wouldn’t even work properly. At first I thought maybe it was because I didn’t have any internet, but I’ve tried multiple times with and without the internet to complete another episode and it doesn’t even want to play correctly. The game/TV show never crashed for me but I’m tired of the episodes not running properly even when I have good wifi that works very well for all my other apps and games. Please just fix all these bugs because I can’t even get through another episode without being frustrated by all the lagging and the interaction function not even working. I believe ekoYouControlTheStory has great potential and I want to support the developers, but please please please fix ekoYouControlTheStory .

I’ve had ekoYouControlTheStory for a while now, and it’s INCREDIBLE!!!! And I love the fact that the developers added more content than ever, especially after the arrivals of Buzzfeed and FBE. I just have 2 problems with ekoYouControlTheStory.

1. (MAJOR ISSUE; PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING) There’s no parental rating system and most of the shows on Eko are not safe for kids (aside from the cooking shows and Make Or Break). I feel like that’s a MAJOR issue. Can there be a rating system that tells parents if kids can watch?? If so, that would be great.
2. Whenever I try to go to the main menu after an episode is over, ekoYouControlTheStory usually crashes. Can there be an update to fix that please??

I'm halfway through the last episode of #WarGames and I can't finish it! I've watched the first half three times trying to get it to work, but it always crashes at the same point and doesn't save the progress! I really like the story, and it's the worst kind of torture to get so far into it and not be able to see how it ends!

ekoYouControlTheStory also makes my phone (iPhone X) almost too hot to hold and drains the battery faster than any other app I've had, fast enough that the battery percentage still drops if it's plugged in and it drops from almost 100% to completely dead in the span of one episode if it's not.

When I downloaded this “game “ I thought it was interactive through a story but it turns out is a travel thingy? Although I can appreciate this ummm travel err ok basically I don’t know what to call it! There were only two choices I’m like really after about 90 mins your down all the cities now you can redo the whole thing using other option, which I should explain goes like this you wanna spend a lot or hardly nothing at all also the have you want breakfast or eat on run !!!
ekoYouControlTheStory would be good if they spent more times .... instead of 3 min per city you have a hour and more options!!

ekoYouControlTheStory is fun and awesome! I haven’t had an issue with the crashing, but there are some moments that I would have loved to have some clarification. When do new episodes come out? For example, does a new Timeline episode come out every Friday or is it completely random when new episodes come out? How do I know if a story is complete or still leaving you hanging in the middle of the action? What exactly do the reactions mean? How do I know for sure when I have to make a choice? (in some of the stories, it’s unclear) As a reader - I really need more clarification about how ekoYouControlTheStory works and how I know if a story is done or not.

So far I've really enjoyed ekoYouControlTheStory. But there's just a couple of things..my story keeps freezing on episode 6. ekoYouControlTheStory doesn't close, it just freezes regardless of my choice. I have to reboot, but it just keeps bringing me to the same choice. It seems I won't be able to play again until it's updated.
Another thing is that you hardly get any time to make a choice before it chooses for you. I think this would be entirely fine if there was a little visual somewhere for how much time you have left, even something small.

Downloaded after Buzzfeed started putting up some quizzes from here. I like the MindBlown games but it’s weird because I can’t figure out how to select a different episode from ekoYouControlTheStory . It only lets you choose the first one and then once you play that you can see one of the other MindBlown episodes as up next, but from the website I can select any of the seven. I believe this stands for other segments/shows within ekoYouControlTheStory too. There are also some issues with lagging, but it’s been better on ekoYouControlTheStory with that than on the website. Could be a cool app, but needs a bit of improvement.

This is a really good app i wached the whole thing of Charlie gets fired, I would like to see more animated stories. People have been saying how it doesn’t save the story’s and it crashes,I’ve never had a problem with ekoYouControlTheStory and I recommend it a lot. Other than only having one animated story this is one of the best apps. I also love how it’s free most apps like this you would half to pay but it’s free and I love that. But this is definitely a 5 star rating

I have an iPhone 10. I’ve been trying to finish wizard school dropout with saved choices so I can see the better cutscenes at the end.

If yours crashes and just wont reload- if you delete and reinstall ekoYouControlTheStory it fixes it - it will play any episode again, but it doesn’t keep the saves.

The long:

The shows are well written, entertaining, and fun. Especially Wizard School Dropout. The cast is amazing, the acting is whimsical and fun to match the writing - and there are cameos from some of our favorite Felicia Day Guild folks.

The choose your own adventure format is the future of fun interactive fiction.

I almost gave this five stars just because of that.

However, FIX ekoYouControlTheStory please.

I’ve been trying to finish wizard school drop out for 6 days. I’ve had to reinstall ekoYouControlTheStory at least 4-5 times, and start over crashed 8-10 times.

It’s crashed around 10-15 times.

I still haven’t seen the ending.

I’ve only watched one episode (and at low quality thanks to the fact that my phone was in low-power mode), but this is some of the most interesting storytelling I’ve experienced in a long time. I’m going to tell my buddies with a literary or cinematic inclination to give this a go. Beyond that, I’m excited to explore this new form of narrative. I’m not sure whether this will be more compelling than AR/VR narration, but it doesn’t have to be an either/or situation. In sum: huge potential and great so far.

I have had issues with it crashing and have had to uninstall and reinstall it several times but I love the interactive stories! Amazing work! I know it’s hard to write programs like this so I can be patient. It also gives me an opportunity to start over and do the interactions differently too lol. Love it overall but if the crashing can get fixed that would make it even more awesome than it already is! Thanks guys for ekoYouControlTheStory!

So I really love the shows but ekoYouControlTheStory can use a little bit of funktionality. For instance it says you can download your shows for offline watching but I have yet to find out how to do that. Next every time I hit to watch the next episode it flops out of order to a totally different episode than it should be. Also can we get a rewind button instead of having to start over? Fix those issues and you’ll be a 5 star app!! I definitely love love love ekoYouControlTheStory just fix the small issues!

I found ekoYouControlTheStory a few days ago, it looked very interesting from the ad, I thought it was going to be like others where it would show an ad and then the game will be nothing like it, I’m actually very glad I got it! I just wish you luck and hopefully you will make a update for more episodes? That’s all I ask, but other then that this is a great game! I recommend you play it, just be cautious that there isn’t many episodes.

This is a great app for me because I love the kind of games like fallout, outworlds, games that give you the power of decision and make your own story. It reminds of that one scene in Futurama when they all go to the movies and they audience are given the chose on their chairs to A) Have the main character do their taxes. or B) Have the main character join in the fight in a epic scene.

I’ve only played one story so far and I love it, despite how cheesy it is. The writing isn’t perfect but I don’t mind it anymore, I think of it as part as part of the fun. Despite my enjoyment, I have come across an issue with saving. I was on episode 8 of Wizard School dropout, and when I was finished I saw that I was still “unlicensed” even though I passed 1 episode before, and all of my secret items, experience and progress up to episode 8 had been deleted.

If the game would actually save my progress, then I will give it 5 stars. But for now it’s 3.
