Looks polished, but coded by amateurs.

CVKey looks nice, but is overly simplistic and unintelligent, making binary decisions about access using individual metrics without any cross-referencing and some of which are out of date. The developers can at least be proud of learning what an If/Then/Else structure is, but apparently little beyond that. The reliance on user’s honesty and a standard question format instead of a varied adaptive process is lazy and serves to make CVKey little more than a daily annoyance that fails to deliver on any of its supposed goals. Also, any restrictions imposed by CVKey can simply be circumvented by uninstalling and reinstalling CVKey , as it lazily does not require any authentication with an outside entity. TL;DR: lazily designed useless garbage.

Photo

Privacy /no sharing of data is good. But it could be fewer clicks to go through the questions. I’ve seen websites where all the questions are on one page. Also, the medical information could be more engaging - if it could show what is new. It seems the content isn't updated often.

Glitch allowing reset

If CVKey is deleted and redownloaded, it resets the health data. If someone is restricted, all they would have to do would be to delete CVKey and do the daily symptom check over again after redownloading CVKey . This opens a door for dishonestly and a lack of safety on campus.

Good but

This works as it should really well but I wish there was an option to choose a photo from your camera roll and/or replace the photo you took when signing up with your school. I think that not having this capability really effects the user-friendliness of CVKey .

Good concept, needs work

While this is a good concept, easier and faster then filing out paper work every day, CVKey needs work.
First, you have to put a profile picture but you do not have the option to pick one from the camera roll.
Second, after taking the questionnaire and it telling you whether you are safe to enter the building, you have to go and find the QR code, it does not just automatically pop up (which I think it should). I’m juggling my bag, my water bottle, my keycard to get into my building and now my phone.
Third, when looking for the QR code I have to scroll through a very poorly organized list of buildings. I don’t know who organized this way but it doesn’t make any logical sense. Some buildings appear on the first list while others are under tabs like ‘Main campus’ but some of the buildings on the first list are on the main campus...?

I understand there are a lot of people who are scared and wanting to be extra cautious during this weird time. And CVKey could be very helpful in that endeavor, but it needs a big user friendly upgrade
