Grifin: Stock Where You Shop™ Reviews

I recently bought a new Tesla and the first dollar went to this app within days. Since then I’ve added 200+ to this app to buy more shares, it’s been two weeks. It hasn’t been adjusted & I can’t buy anything. Just a little suggestion. What if this app charges 0.01%(1 cent) for every charge, so you can save up for a little upgrade on the technology side of things. Free is great but it doesn’t pay the bills. I’d happily pay for Grifin if I knew it would update on the stock side as fast as it did on taking from my bank account.

I really wanted to like Grifin after hearing about it. It sounded like a great concept and I figured I’d give it a go. From the beginning Grifin was very confusing on providing information as to what stocks were actually being bought, pending, or sold. Even with the transactions filter it would say a stock was pending to be bought then never would go through. I still have “pending stocks” from 5 months ago!

As others have mentioned make sure you limit the amount of money you want invested or it will invest for EVERY purchase you make on connected cards. It does not matter wether that company has a publicly traded stock or not. This should be fixed to limit only to public stock purchases.

Grifin is constantly buggy and lags like crazy. You’ll be in the middle of trying to do something and Grifin crashes. It’s extremely annoying and seems to only have gotten worse lately.

I finally decided to pull the plug today, I’m selling all the stocks I have in it and deleting my account. They also make it quite a lengthy process to close your account. There have been too many issues. I’ll be sticking to Robinhood for my stock purchases.

Really wanted to like Grifin. Stayed on for about 6 months before removing my bank account information. Beware! When they say they invest $1 in every purchase they mean EVERY PURCHSE! Including utilities, rent…even if the company or bill you paid doesn’t have shares. It adds up extremely fast! Then it’ll stay pending for a long time. I finally cashed out as much as I could (roughly $100) but I currently still have $40 in stupid investments and they won’t allow me to sell. I’ve tried multiple times to sell but all it gives me is an error. I’ve decided to just take the $40 loss and delete all my info and delete the application completely. Beware. I think it was a great idea but poor execution. It most definitely needed to be troubleshooted before they launched it.

My current issue is I deleted app off iPhone, went back to Apple apps and all it will allow me to do is open from app page, not download app to place it on my iPhone. Don’t know how to get it back on my phone. Other issues is the long delay in purchase of shares not showing up , sometimes months, purchases have been made from cash in account. Frustrating. So many quirks. Current issue right now is when I back out from an area screen went white and I can’t get anything to populate. Your app is so frustrating. How come you don’t allow access via your webpage? Thus will help viewing account.

This company is ridiculous and I am starting to believe it to be total fraud. After depositing money the first time things seemed fine. I made a small deposit at first. The next deposit the same. Everything fine. When I tried to withdraw came the problems. Money “pending” for over a month, no responses from any customer service, and “we’ll take care of it” followed by absolute silence and no progress. There is STILL money in my account I have been trying to get back for over a month with ZERO response from them. And any attempts to close the account have failed. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I will be filing formal complaints with the SEC and the BBB regarding this matter. I hope they are shut down permanently ASAP.

I find Grifin to be useful when it comes to investing companies that you make everyday purchases in. But Grifin itself if very glitchy and buggy. If one thing is fixed then another shows up. For example. I could not make a stock purchase using my remaining dollars for the longest time. I would have to exit out of Grifin for the transaction to go through. Since then, it has been fixed but now I cannot view my pending transactions. It has been ongoing for about 3 weeks now. The transactions tab is just a spinning wheel of eternity. If Grifin really took their tech issues seriously. I would totally recommend Grifin to everyone.

The big thing Grifin needs is the ability to add multiple checking account and credit cards. Then it would truly be beneficial. I have multiple checking and savings accounts and credit cards. I can only link one of my credit unions. One of which I seldomly use.

I thought Grifin would give me a further in stocking management so I wouldn’t have to do it in person. I was wrong. It was fantastic until they withdraw a good amount of money before asking for permission first. I’ve been trying to get in contact with them over the messaging system they have. Very disappointed they don’t care about their happy customers enough to answer. I sold and closed my stock and still pending for my sold shares and still haven’t received any of my money back yet. If Grifin could get zero stars it would. Hopefully they change their dynamic if they want to keep their user happy.

The idea of auto-investments based on shopping habits is really a cool idea for passive investments, but Grifin is a total disaster. Withdrawals from US Bank DO NOT WORK. I've contacted support multiple times over the past several months and the problem remains unresolved, so then what's the point of Grifin ?! A withdrawal that went through months ago was the only one that worked, but now my money isn't able to be transferred out of Grifin - so it's essentially being held ransom by this app until they decided to finally fix their technical issues ... which seems like a pipe dream. I wish I could love Grifin, but it's literally unuseable.

Been with Grifin since it’s inception. Yes, there have been some bumps in the road but look past that and see the future. From just swiping my credit card over the past 6 months I own a piece of 32 companies and have over $1165 invested. On a percentage basis my this app account is my best performer. Investing in companies I know and understand what a truly amazing simple concept. Absolutely love Grifin!!!

I’ve only had app for 2 weeks, so far I’m just trying to figure it out. I’m digging it up to this point. I do have some questions and can’t find customer service. I’ve seen reviews saying customer service is great. How do I find it?

Both my portfolio, AND Grifin/company. I love the new “transfers” screen showing the tickers invested in by transfer. It’s exciting to watch the new releases and features come out, and every time I have $100 in cash in Grifin , our family sits down and decides what we currently own and where we want to invest the $100.

Grifin disconnected my bank account and won’t let you check on anything without the bank account connected. I have been stuck on a loading screen since it happened and currently have about $700 stuck in Grifin with no access to it whatsoever. Reached out to them and all I got was that it would be passed on to developers but nothing has happened. Asked if there was a way to pull the money out and they said I can’t without a bank connected…

It’s incredibly difficult to connect your bank and cards as they only can except cards from certain banks. Your cards and banks accounts will disconnect every few months so you have to reconnect and for some reason that is a terribly difficult process. It’s such a good idea but unfortunately this platform is not a good one to work with I suggest you look around for other organizations doing this better.

This is a great app. I get to invest without even thinking about it. I’ve tried several “regular” investment companies and they are only interested in how much of my money they can keep or selling me their own products. this app makes it easy for me to invest my money in companies I trust and believe in.

I’ve accumulated a $400 portfolio quickly just by making everyday purchases. It all happens automatically and only $1 at a time, so I don’t have to save a big wad of cash before I can invest. Out of sight, out of mind makes investing for my future easier and fun!

I have had a few issues here and there with Grifin but it has gotten better over time. First downloaded around the time it came out and I absolutely love it. Great way to save and invest money over time!

I have trouble almost every time I try to log in.. it’s so frustrating. I do kinda like the $1 stash away on each purchase but it takes it even on my cash transfer to my online savings. I only want it to take funds on purchases and fix the dang log in issues!!

I’ve used Grifin for almost a year without issue. But for the last couple months, I can’t even log in. It let me change my password once, then it randomly stopped working. I’m ready to file taxes and can’t even access the account. It’s highly unlikely I’ll keep Grifin afterwards unless they get these bugs worked out ASAP.

Hi I’m actually going to cancel my account. I have reached out to this app three times if not more telling them that their app freezes and crashes and you have to reload it to access your accounts and then reconfirm your financials and it’s just an agonizing tedious mess and they haven’t made any real effort to fix it and this is been going on for months and I think it’s a complete disaster and I no longer wanna have anything to do with the company

Grifin has helped me to understand the investing world more than I had thought it would, and it’s gotten me excited to invest! It makes things so easy by adding stock to the companies I shop at, which is great because I shop at the same places all the time. Not only that, but giving me a cash fund to invest more into those companies when I made small mom-and-pop purchases, I’m watching my money work for me and it feels great! Props to this group for making such an amazing I investment platform!

I love seeing the little investments in my bank acct going to this app. It's perfect for someone like me in my 60s who doesn't follow the market, but wants to invest. I’m not a gambler, but it’s amazing how quickly my account has grown based on my everyday purchases. It’s fun going to one of “my stores” knowing that I’m investing in my own financial future!

I am a huge fan of this app. I started using Grifin as soon as I realized It was available to the public! It’s so easy to just sit back and invest without worrying about your investments choices or if you bought at the wrong time, everything is handled for you. Your job is to shop and grow your investments worry free.

The concept is simple - at the end of each week you automatically buy fractional shares of where you shopped. I love shopping now and knowing I am a part owner of my favorite brands all while investing in my future. Keep getting better this app!

this app is going to transform investing, automatically investing fractional shares at no cost to the user in the companies we believe in. The concept is brilliant and unique. I have no doubt this company will succeed and should particularly appeal to millennials and those new to investing.

Accumulating stock in companies I frequent is such a obvious and smart idea. I’ve often thought “I should own stock I. Starbucks since I’m there every day.”

Now I can.

I had no idea how to invest, but I thought I should start early when I’m young to really maximize my investments. this app makes it very fun and easy for someone like me to start investing!

I love the UX and the fun aspect of Grifin . I think its SUCH a strong concept that makes investing a safer space while slowly building your wealth (Warren Buffet style!)

Its also great in that it invests in companies you use, so if u stop using a company, theres probably a reason and its probably a good enough reason to stop investing in it too!

Great idea and super intelligent app.

As a beginning investor, I’m loving this app. It is super easy to use and I love that everything is automatic - all I have to do is live and shop like normal, and I’m investing. I can’t wait to see Grifin blow up!

I’ve never really understood how/when/where to invest but Grifin makes it so dang simple. Bravo! If only there was a referral bonus so I could rack up some extra stocks 😎
