Smartist: Artwork Preview App Reviews

I gave this app a try and loved it from the start. It has the best frame options and most believable lighting and shadow of any other app that I’ve tried and it’s the most user friendly by far. The presets for saving the images are great cutting time and guesswork with cropping and ratios. I’ve even used images from this app to send to my galleries. As with all of these apps I personally find the room settings a bit too cookie cutter but there are a few on Smartist that are very beautiful and the lighting isn’t generic and even appears to be natural light.

The support has been great and they have even moved forward on some of my suggestions.

Overall this is an app for professional use and has saved me lots of time.

I’ve tried a few apps in the past, wasn’t happy and have been doing it myself for quite a while… This is very different! Artists are given a lot of choices including frames, mat sizes and even angle view. It gives a shadow, which can only be achieved in Photoshop, giving your artwork a realistic look. The interiors are very pleasing and will work for any art style. Even a free version gives you choices, but definitely a paid version is a way to go, so many beautiful options! I highly recommend Smartist to fellow artists! Karina.

I’ve been using Smartist since the day it’s been launched. Very delighted with the customer service. Support team is very responsive, they ask questions on how to improve the service & the product itself. Love the approach they’re taking & as an artist Smartist has been very helpful for me to showcase my art & do sales. this app has become my virtual gallery of sorts. I’m a photographer selling prints and my old method of creating wall previews was very clunky. To the point where I didn’t do it enough because it was too much effort.

this app allows you to get your art onto an attractive wall and save as Instagram story, post, even as a slider. *Without a pay wall and watermark*

You can pay for a membership which gives you access to more templates and features but for me this perfectly suits my needs.

I’ve actually been seeking ways to achieve exactly this. I’m an artist and Smartist makes it easier to picture my own works objectively after staring at my studio wall for too long. It should be good for featuring my work on Instagram posts too. Smartist has been very stable, and has numerous options for residential & commercial surroundings. Also, I suggested a few updates to them via Instagram and they are very receptive. I will likely subscribe.

I’m an artist who is just getting into social media and such, and Smartist has been perfect for me! Everything has been straightforward, super easy to use, the backgrounds are beautiful, and I love the ability to change the perspective as well as add frames and mats! The pro features are well worth the money, and with the early discount, it’s one of the least expensive full versions out there.

Smartist is designed to milk an artist by offering a few free backgrounds and features while changing 60 bucks a year to gain the main features it boosts of. Want more than 5 backgrounds, pay. Want multiple paintings on a wall (ie. Gallery display)? Pay.
The interiors are lacking in interest and there are very limited frame selections. This alone really kills Smartist. Artists spend a lot of time choosing frames. Being able to look at different stiles of frames on the work would help in choosing. But no.
I’ve tried out a different app for this that was much better but didn’t allow multiple images. Well, without paying, neither does this one.

Using this app has saved me lots of time while letting me display my work beautifully! It’s an important part of helping people visualize art in their space.

I’m so happy with the way all the interior images respond to true scale and I don’t have to manually estimate proportions using other software.

They update the interiors often, so I can always create fresh images to show my work.

Fantastic app. Has really helped my art sales with such wonderful rooms and setting. Super easy to use and upload to several social media sites. Also get acknowledgments on Instagram with reposting to stories. My only wish is could there be a few more color options to select in the rooms. Definitely a 5 star app. I’ve had no connection issues! Keep the rooms coming

I had been using Art Rooms app which I love but what drew me to Smartist was the ability to change the angle of the room so that you can see your artwork in different perspectives. It would be great if you could upload a room image to mock up a photo for a prospective collector, but otherwise I find this tool exceptional. It’s easy to use and the room options are modern and beautiful.

It’s the best app you can use to add and adjust your pictures and paintings! I really recommend it and give it 10 stars not only 5. There is only one question…am I allowed to share these pictures on my own website and social media to show how my art pieces look like?! I’m already a monthly subscriber! I own a small art business and Smartist has been so helpful in marketing my work online. It is incredibly user friendly and the finished product looks so realistic.

The option to edit the finishing of each room to match the artwork is very a nice touch. I recommend any artist get Smartist to create content that helps promote their work!

I heard about Smartist from my friend and decided to give it a try. I think it is very aesthetically pleasing, the functions and design are very useful and efficient, and I appreciate the fact that the developer does frequent timely updates with new features and interiors. They know how to listen to their users and deliver exactly what they need. Highly recommended.

Enjoying Smartist so much! I have used similar art placement apps in the past. They were never really correct in size and not particularly handsome interiors. This allows for true size of art and looks fab in the smart spaces. This is a wonderful way to show potential clients how my work will look in their home or office! Easy and fun to use!

1. There is lack of 2 and 3 vertical panels for vertical images.
2. When there are already some images in Artwork, cannot import new images from phone’s album. There’s only one option and that’s Camera.
3. When deleting images from Artwork, Smartist crashes in some points and should be restarted.
4. There’s no option to select all images in Artwork to delete all at once. Images should be deleted one by one!!

As a cash strapped artist I didn’t know whether this would be worth it. But wow was I wrong. Smartist is seamless and the UX is very intuitive. Very happy to be able to showcase my work without all the regular logistical hassle. 100% worth it! Loving all the feedback I’m getting too!

Better and easier than photoshop!
There are some features to be improved to be more realistic but Smartist has been such a help for me! Now I can post all my paintings with context on social media. It even resulted in a sale already since I started using it!

One of the easiest apps to use of its genre, and I’ve experienced many of these. As a painter who works in large formats I’m looking forward to at least a few more options for portrait formats in this app’s formidable arsenal of rooms.

You showcase your artwork digitally for everyone or just yourself to be able to get the idea of how it looks with a variety of interior designs of your choice. Really fun app to work with and experiment.

Smartist was SUCH a blessing to find! It’s so easy to use and displays the art beautifully!

I would love for Smartist to eventually have pictures of spaces closer in distance so smaller art images can be displayed and shown just as beautifully as the larger images.

But overall, so pleased with Smartist!

I recently starting using Smartist and it is awesome to showcase artwork. I love how you can cut your images down within app and how it gives different views of the room. It’s the most intuitive app I have used of its kind. I’m a fan! Can’t wait for new rooms to be added!

I love being able to zoom in and crop before I export, and being able to export as a carousel to make my Instagram posts look super professional. Everything is so realistic! Never going back to the old way again.

So glad to have found Smartist. The features are great- I love being able to stage my work from an angle view and change wall colors. This is my go to app for each new piece I complete. I believe Smartist will only get better over time.

My absolute “go to” app! Incredibly easy to use and takes seconds to mock up really great quality images. The way artwork hangs on the walls is the most realistic I’ve seen among similar apps on the market. The interior designs are excellent!

I heard about Smartist from my photographer friend and honestly this is the best app I have ever used for art mock-ups. Amazing rooms and so many cool features. I also like that you can export a high res image without a watermark, for free. I will subscribe to PRO version soon.

I downloaded Smartist and liked it at first but once I had a multiple pictures of my art uploaded and different backgrounds but once I paid for it Smartist stopped working. Literally couldn’t get it to open at all, funny Smartist developers called it this app bc it’s dumb. So now I can’t be lazy and have to use photoshop again, thanks for taking my money

I downloaded Smartist and love everything about. The aesthetics are on point, usability to a 10 and it gave me exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone looking to showcase their art!
