We advance booked a car with a car seat for our toddler and they’ve just cancelled 5 minutes before our pick up time because they apparently don’t have any car seats. Insane. If I could give minus stars I would. This isn’t just bad service this is absolutely destructive leaving us stranded with no safe travel option for our toddler.

Update: Since they keep responding to my review by saying they are going to reach out to help us, I want to clarify that they emailed offering us a 20 euro coupon on future travel with them (which is obviously something that we will never use), and an offer to cover any “reasonable price difference” on our travel which was meaningless considering we couldn’t book a car service with a car seat at this stage so all alternate travel was inherently going to be cheaper than them. Neither of these things in any way helped us.

We needed a larger vehicle for our luggage and we had to beat the airport at 0300. They confirmed our reservation. I never heard anything from them, so 12 hours before they were to pick us up, I contacted them. Of course you can’t just call someone,it has to be via messages that they “usually respond in less than 3 hours.” Really? We needed to know if we had a ride or not. I had to call them twice to find out what was happening. They supposedly were “working on it” and in the meantime there was a chance that we would miss our international flights. Since our reservation had been confirmed, we didn’t have a backup plan. When I called the second time, with just 5 hours left before we were to leave, she “just found out “ while we were talking that they couldn’t find a driver for us. And they just happened to send me a text while I was speaking with her that they couldn’t find a driver and we’re cancelling our reservation. So at 16:00 on a Sunday night, we had to find alternative plans. Don’t use this company. They are unreliable and won’t tell you until the last minute that you don’t have a ride.

I was traveling to Cairo, Egypt and I needed a ride to my hotel. When I stumbled on WelcomePickups. It all started well. The driver contacted me and asked for my information. He said he will be at the airport waiting for me with a sign with my name on it. Easy enough and I was happy with the communication.

However, when I arrived to Cairo. The driver was not there. There were many other cab drivers waiting and soliciting for there service. There was one cab driver that was kind enough to let me use his phone to call my driver that I booked and paid for. The driver that I booked picked up and told me he was in the parking lot and he will be there in 10minutes. I waited for 30 mins and I finally got over it and took another cab that let me use his phone. The booked driver then called back 30 mins later and told me he just arrived at the airport. That is one hour after the agreed pick up time. I told him I was waiting for 30mins and I took a cab. He told me it is not his fault that he was late. Don’t even was your time with this company. When their hired drivers don’t event take responsibilities for there actions.

Very unhelpful overall in getting picked from the airport. If you have flight delays, good luck getting picked up; we never did. Our driver had multiple pickups after us and no one else was available. We notified them of our delay and were told this. We also inadvertently had our itinerary in reverse and tried to correct this 9-10 hours in advance but were told we couldn’t even though their website says only “a certain amount of time” is needed to modify reservations but they claimed it was 24 hours, even though that timeframe is only listed for cancellations, not modifications. Their customer service people were not helpful and didn’t seem to care. The only person who sort of tried to help us was the driver, but he had multiple pick ups and was the only person apparently we could use. Overall this company seems to want to take your money without providing any services if they think they can do it. If you’re flying into Rome, just go to the taxi stand. It’s a lot cheaper and was quick for us.

Great ride if they show up. Much better than the first. Our ride from Charles de Gaulle never showed. The reservation was backwards. Showed going from the hotel to Charles de Gaulle instead of from Charles de Gaulle to the hotel.. I made seven international calls to our driver Johnny and he said no problem. I’ll pick you up at Charles de Gaulle. I even called him when our flight was 10 minutes delayed only to have him tell me he wasn’t coming that he was at the hotel and I reminded him of the many phone conversations we had regarding the messed up reservation. They charged me €85 for a ride I never received. When I asked Johnny for the main phone number he gave me a phone number that did not work so I could not call the company and let them know what he done. I have proof of all this and copies of all of the text messages and international phone calls. needless to say I’m not happy. This ride was exactly as planned and wonderful, but I would never use this company again. Just get a G7 Taxi it’s easier and cheaper

I’ve been using this service in different cities, without any issues. They are more expensive than hiring local counterparts, but I used to opt this for the reliability and convenience… until a driver didn’t show up. I had to be at the airport at 8am for a 12hr flight, and the taxi never picked me up. Even worse, after being 10min late, the driver marked “they were there”, and they charged me for the cancellation because “I didn’t show up”. This was afterwards solved when I showed all the messages, calls, and geolocation info, but the biggest problem was that I was late to the airport because it was very difficult to get a last minute taxi at that time.
Service varies a lot by company they use and it’s impossible to get in touch with customer service in any sort of appropriate time (they reply roughly every 5-10hrs).

Update - after posting the review below, company reached out and refunded the payment. So, I am now giving two stars instead of one. It is frustrating that there is no way to contact customer service and only get a response after a negative review. I arranged a pickup at Charles de Gaulle I provided flight number and arrival time. While still in Seattle, flight was delayed. I sent a text to the driver via WhatsApp to notify we be an hour late - the process suggested by Welcome. I got no response. For some reason, the driver arrived an hour before the original scheduled time (as confirmed by email from Welcome). He waited two hours despite info from me and the airport flight was delayed. Driver then texted that he was waiting. I texted back that we were looking for him several times and got no response. Welcome has no customer service. A link on WelcomePickups takes you to a list of articles. There is an IM option but multiple attempts to contact CS did not get a response. Eventually, the IMs disappear with no response from Welcome. So, WelcomePickups will take your $80 for a pick up, not provide the service, and offer no way to resolve the issue. Total scam. This should be illegal.

I’ve got mixed feelings about this service. Let’s start with the kinds of cars that you get. On WelcomePickups we were told that we would be getting a larger Mercedes Van to fit all of us and our large luggage that we were carting for a couple of weeks throughout Europe. When we landed in Vienna, we got a smaller Toyota SUV and when we got picked up there was a Toyota Prius that was a taxi.

While I get this is a higher level of service that you don’t get from the average taxi service don’t promise me that I am getting a larger car and more like a private driver and switch it out to a taxi.

Secondly, because they rely on taxis the reliability of your pick up is based on the country and the current conditions. In Vienna all was great and reliable (minus the swap out of the vehicle type). But we couldn’t get a pick up when we got to Rome because there was a taxi strike! And as a result everything got cancelled at the last minute so we would up walking the streets of Rome with our luggage in tow.

Personally would have paid much higher price for a better ride and more reliable pick up and drop off (which is what we wound up doing in Rome through our hotel to ensure that we were able to catch our flight out without any stress).

Overall not a horrible service, but not something that would keep the stress of summer travel to a minimum either. As long as you know what you are in for and have back up plans than I guess you’ll be ok with using this service.

Great first experience with being picked up and dropped off at the BCN airport. Since I was worried abut our flight being delayed I arranged our pickup time an hour later than when we were supposed to land. Our flight ended up being early and by the time we got through customs and got our baggage it ended up being about 30 mins earlier than our scheduled pickup time. I contacted the driver right after our plan landed and let him know we arrived earlier than expected. By the time we got to arrivals we were planning on waiting for him there, thinking it was going to be a while, but he ended up meeting us 10 mins later. Very accommodating and knowledgable about the area and warned us of things to watch out for. Will definitely book with them for my future trips!

Excellent service to and from Prague Airport to and from our hotel in Old Town Prague, our driver was Nekruz, great English language skills, price was very fair compared to taxis, which most internet sites do not recommend in Prague. Nekruz provided great communication at the airport by text and greeted us in the lobby. He also provided great communication when picking us up at our hotel for the return flight. Very smooth process with no issues. This was our first trip to Prague and we wanted to make sure that getting to and from the airport could be accomplished without any issues. Thanks Nekruz and thanks to Welcome Pickups, everything done easily on our phones, highly recommended!

I have used this company since April 2022 The service has always been very good and the drivers have only good things to say about the company. The drivers have always gone above and beyond than other companies I have had used years before I found out about welcome pickups Because of this I have recommended my friends to use this company highly. Unfortunately I had an incident this month but the company instilled my faith by reassuring me that they are a reputable company and they have high standards and professionalism for their drivers which made me have even bigger faith in this company. 5 stars is not enough for such professionalism.

Before I left home, I reserved a Welcome Pickup at the Lisbon airport to take me to my hotel. It was easy to do. They provided clear communications about the driver, vehicle and meeting point. I liked that the driver monitored the flight arrival and would wait up to 60 minutes for me to get off the plane, get through customs and immigration and pick up my luggage. My driver was waiting for me inside the passenger terminal. He was very professional and friendly. I was so pleased, I used Welcome Pickup again at the end of my vacation to take me from the Lisbon cruise port to the airport. It was flawless and stress free knowing that someone was waiting for me. I will use them again in the future.

I’m sure location as well as staffing changes have something to do with the negative reviews but I found it to be excellent. I googled airport transportation options for our upcoming flight to San Francisco and reviewed the websites for Uber, Lyft, Taxi and Welcome Pickups. I wanted something like a Taxi with a fixed rate so chose to go with Welcome Pickups. Our driver Sai communicated great, even calling to help direct us out of the airport (we have a very small local airport), had great vacation tips and location suggestions. My husband and I were comfortable during the ride but my son ended up getting car sick, which is common for him and thankfully it was a short trip and he got out of the vehicle in time. Would recommend Welcome Pickups for San Francisco and Sai as a driver!

I used this twice. Once for pick up at CDG when arriving to Paris and again going back to the airport for my return flight! Both times my service was excellent. Wished there was a way to tip on here but unfortunately you have to have Euros and I didn’t on the arrival. I would definitely recommend and use this service again- both of my drivers were on time, friendly, helpful and I did a special request for my daughter - it was her birthday and both drivers (arrival and returning) acknowledge her birthday. On arrival he had a sign with her name (happy birthday) welcoming her to Paris. My daughter was excited, can’t put a price on smiles! Thank you for the safe and on time ride!

We used this service to book transportation from BCN to our AIRBNB and then from there to the cruise terminal. Both rides were excellent. Our flight to BCN was about 45 minutes late but the driver contacted me via WhatsApp immediately upon us landing. We kept in touch as our group went through passport control and luggage retrieval. Upon entering the main terminal the driver was waiting for us with a sign and took us directly to the waiting taxi van. Smooth process. Our second trip was from our Airbnb to the cruise terminal and once again they were exactly on time and met us at the exact location specified. I would definitely use this service again when traveling overseas.

Since first time I use this service I enjoy very much and never had any problems except last time with my flight being delayed. Salvatore contacted me via e-mail and solve the problem and I am very grateful for the consideration in taking the time to review and solve the problem. Now I can tell this business is very professional and I can count on them if there is another problem. Obviously I will continue using their services and I will recommend it to any one in need of a top notch service in a secure way with great drivers that would accommodate your needs.

Just completed a 2-week stay in Paris and used Welcome Pickups for the first time after using a variety of airport transfer services for many past trips there. Must say that this experience was at the top of our list. Excellent notification from and communication with both drivers, who were waiting for us and also were very courteous and who both were very safe drivers to boot, despite wicked traffic. My only complaint is quite minor - we were notified far in advance of a specific driver for each transfer but the drivers were changed multiple times before the transfer date. Not a big deal but a little confusing at first. We highly recommend this service!

For us, this is the way to go. Period! So easy to use, so efficient, and amazingly flexible. Our flight was delayed, then canceled then rescheduled but every time, Welcome pickups adjusted instantly. Upon arrival, (finally) there was a huge crowd waiting in the taxi line. Our hostess was calmly waiting with a sign with our name. She then guided us to our waiting ride and we were off. Our driver was quite competent, spoke English and was was a fun conversant. Our return was the same way. Driver punctual, friendly and quite efficient. In total, the cost was very reasonable with the added luxury of being prepaid online. No hassle of finding local currency to pay a taxi. Congrat! We are scheduled again a few week from now in Bangkok. Looking forward to the experience.

I have used Welcome Pickups for 2 trips now. 1 for 4 destinations in Spain and the other for 2 in Italy. It eliminates so much stress. We got to walk past the huge taxi lines with our driver who had been standing there with a sign with my name. Communication was great in all cases. The drivers all spoke English well, which was very helpful and they gave us tips and recommendations on places to eat and things to do. They were so nice and welcoming. This does not cost much more than a taxi. I was alarmed at the price in Venice Italy but soon realized the price was competitive and I wished I had used them because that was the only place I didn’t and it was very stressful and taxing. I will use them when I travel abroad for every new destination I go to saving time, reducing stress and providing peace of mind.

We were picked up at the Athens Airport by Giannis. He was waiting for as we exited the baggage area. He then helped us with our luggage to the van, with plenty of luxurious space for the four of us. Traffic was particularly heavy, so Giannis was able to spend time pointing out attraction as we approached our hotel. He noticed that there were two different addresses for the hotel and the one I had noted was incorrect. He took it upon himself to ensure that our pickup in a few days will be correct. Giannis was pleasant land efficient. I would highly recommend Giannis and Welcome Pickups for and transfers in Athens.
We have also used Welcome Pickups in Barcelona with a very similar experience.
