I put this system at my company which operates from 6 AM to 4:30 PM. The entire reason I got the system was for night time so that I could monitor and get notification if anyone was on my property. In order to set up the evening and night time motion detector you have to go camera by camera through multiple steps just to turn it on and go through the same steps to turn it off the next morning. Otherwise my phone will blow up the entire time my plant is up and running during the day with constant notifications. If anyone wants a system with motion detectors I would absolutely recommend buying somebody else’s system. This was a total failure and I regret! There are cheap systems on the market that you can do this with a switch of a button or you can program the system to do it automatically. Do your homework and spend your money with someone else!

Please add a feature that allows your cameras to be open and stay open to how you want them. Instead on me going to different screens to load them. Or having to click on the number of cameras to show. I want to see all NINE cameras when I open my app. The first thing it should open to is my cameras. I should have that option. Also, your notifications system needs to be better. Being able to change the name on the notifications that pop up. Instead of it saying channel 5 I should be able to change it to front door. Not on the camera, but the notifications that you get when the motion go off. That should be able to be changed via DMSS .

Home Screen should be for CAMERAS! This is literally the only reason DMSS exists. Why did you move the favorites to some hidden menu that I need to click 4 times to get to??? This should be front and center when you open DMSS . Not even an option to add favorites to Home Screen?!! Why!! Don’t make me tap 5 times to open the live camera views it is so inconvenient for the user! At least the previous version gave you favorites on the first page when DMSS is opened. Now with the so called “upgrade” that option is gone. You can do much better. Cameras are fine but I regret buying this entire system due to this crappy app.

After the latest update many problems fixed, still few minor problems; slow in reloading cams over mobile data, fails when load a playback. I recommend to have an app on Apple TV device to use it through a remote control.

This is app is ok but its not ok to the point where i would recommend it to someone.

Recently i bought a £500 Camera System/an XVR System and the sound on these camera’s...😱 they are absolutely terrible, it can hear noises very loud from far away (e.g a car sounds like an airplane landing) but can’t hear conversations right underneath it but you can hear the neighbourhood around, incredibly strange.
Who wants to hear the rest of the neighbourhood where the point of CCTV is to protect your property and surroundings, if i had the money i would definitely bin it and buy a new one, also every few seconds I put it on live it always says “connection failed”. Wow what a waste of money...

Unless you are well versed in computer language, then this is an app to be avoided. It installs okay but setting it up takes a miracle. If you do get it to work don’t celebrate quite yet because it stops working with the “connection failed” notification. When going to the help section you will discover hard, if not impossible, to read instructions. Had my system installers out to replace an outdated main unit and even they had to contact the company to get this all working. Bottom line here is that if you only need a security system for home use, then consider a ring doorbell or other easier to use system.

Randomly, I will stop getting notifications on my phone. I still get them on my iPad, but I have to delete DMSS and reload and then set up every camera again. Then sometimes only some cameras send notifications, and the others don’t. The whole point is for me to know when someone is on my property. If you are thinking about installing a security system that uses DMSS (Dahua cameras, for example), please don’t.

PS, if you look at recent reviews, DMSS would be rated about a 1.5. I hope for your sake you read this before spending thousands of dollars on cameras.

Normally I do not write reviews but DMSS is horrible. The original app was a lot better, less bugs and so much easier to play back footage. Every time I try to play back footage on DMSS I scan to the time I want to play and maybe it will play back my footage if it feels like it, many times it doesn’t load and if it does load it freezes after a few seconds. Then when I try to to a different time it won’t load footage and brings be back to 12:00 midnight. It so frustrating. Surely doesn’t help if we need to play back to look of somthing serious happened on camera.

The new layout for DMSS is awesome. Playback works much better on DMSS.. When it works. I have a very hard time getting DMSS to stay open longer than 3-5 seconds without it crashing. As an installer I have quite a few devices on my app. I don't know if that's the issue or if it's just not a stable app. It's very frustrating trying to show customers how to use an app when it crashes 3 times during the process of showing them. Please fix this stability issue! Complete garbage compared to idmss plus, so far.

This new version of playback is hard to work because it does not let you see a time in specific for example if I want to check 2 days ago 9:25am I can select date and for the time only let me scroll 9am and see all the first 25 minutes it does not let me go forward or back and some time even is hard to select an o’clock time. Also speed 8X is not to fast cool be available 16x and 32x or depend on devices installed?

Please help!!! We need the ability to set different schedules for different days at different times. Right now you can only set 1 time schedule for all cameras and for only 7 days a week. I have a client that would like to set all day alerts for the weekends and also at night only not during the day. Could someone please help. I’m sure this would be an easy software update

I am very frustrated with this upgrade. I use these cameras to monitor cattle and for calving. Since the upgrade cameras take at least 8 -10 seconds before moving and then sometimes will not stop moving just spin in a circle. Or camera will not move at all using iPhone and iPad devices. Please fix this. This is very important. Also unable to log in while not at home gives me a timeout error. This is the whole point of these camera systems. Worked flawlessly before the upgrade.

App is great, however in the most recent version, there is a weird scrub back issue when playing back old for content. When scrubbing, it lands on a different time from selected.

Great app - device issue with time zone and or dst set.

It would be much better if they have notifications sound setting options where you can change sound and volume.

I have been using some form of their app for several years. While there have been improvements with newer versions there has been frustration with steps backward.

I have a local alarm on NVR input 4 that records streams from 4 different cameras. The notification is set to local alarm 4. When the alarm occurs it sends me a notification to “channel” 4 to a single camera that is not one of the 4 cameras involved in the alarm recording. This has been a result of the recent update on both iPhone and iPad. I have reached out to support but they have not responded.

What good is an app for a security video system that doesn’t notify you properly of an alarm. It used to work and show all 4 cameras recording prior to the update.

Please help.

They can never fix their broken app. The same issues got carried from this update to another updates without being corrected. Playback not time selectable, auto go back to 00:00
Alarm message play for few seconds then stop.
Playback does display smart recording like tripwire or motion, but can’t select trigger event or skip to the next one.

5 stars voters. If you like DMSS so much, tell us what good about it rather than “awesome app”?

Just began using DMSS and it extremely annoying and frustrating to have to sign in each time via mobile device. Why is FaceID NOT an option OR at very least allow login information to be saved and accessed via keychain for DMSS …..it is 2022. Also, why does the screen has so many options that are not available or applicable to my unit? Allow screen to be managed/customized by user.

I was prompted to upgrade from iDMSS plus to DMSS. It doesn't seem to work when you get a notification and you hit the playback. That’s an important feature that needs to work to playback any motion.

Why update to a new app and the features don’t even work comparing to the older app.

There is no way for me to see the record view when I get a notification to see what motion was detected. It does not play but goes to another time.

I was using the older app which had a worse UI but was less buggy. That app now pushes using DMSS.

The worst bug is in playback if it hits a time with no recording, I get “connection failed” and then I can’t see that camera until I restart DMSS . Refreshing and moving the cursor to a time with video still says “connection failed.”

Wish you can change the notify tone when message alarm detects movement, intrusion etc. The iphone defaults tone is very low and does not allow to change notify tone.

Much better performance! Love it!!

When upgrading to each new app version you will need to reconfigure everything. None of your previously associates devices remain configured for DMSS .
