Practice with the real thing, not a plastic wannabe toy. It’s like going to the range without spending all the hard earned coin on live rounds that you may not get to replace for a long time, or the time spent loading and driving and waiting in line. My new range is in the privacy of my own home, or even a friends; cost is extremely low, I can schedule at my leisure when it’s convenient for me. I can invite any of my closest friends to participate with out worrying about sharing or wasting my recently acquired (and over priced) projectiles. While this may not be an exact replication, it is as close as you can get. Remember, even Tiger W. dry fires his club everyday over and over and over and over. That’s how he has won so many titles. It’s called muscle memory; down stream impact is a very small piece to the over all process of getting your muscles and brain to work as one. Besides, for about the cost of two new boxes of your favorite flavor that only gets you maybe 100 swings, you can get a small box that will produce about 2000 swings down muscle memory lane. You choose, or loose, it’s up to you.

The target and phone holder are well made and it is easy to set up the session on the phone app. The problem is in Strikeman itself. It does not count the shots accurately. It counts sometimes more and sometimes less than you actually shot. Worse is that when you end the session and download the target screenshot to your photos you see that you have a group centered in the target but Strikeman scores you as a 4 average when you can clearly see by your saved target that not one shot was outside the 7 ring. And you can see the laser flashes correlating with the centered screenshot as you shoot. So why such a swing in the scoring? Worse yet you just have a running total average in your history with no way to clear it. Like I said the screenshot gives you an accurate record of your session sort of like a paper target at the range but this is in no way an app that can track improvement in form because it is incapable of setting a baseline in the first place and inaccurately scores each successive session. You do not need to create an account so deleting and reinstalling Strikeman would be the only way to start over when your history gets so skewed by the inaccuracy of Strikeman . This IS a cool concept so this app developers please take my review as constructive criticism and squash these bugs. Thank you.

I purchased the this app laser practice kit because of the price of ammo and the need to keep up with practice. Of course it won’t offer real world conditions, but it will help with getting on target quicker.
Strikeman is helpful. I like the added accuracy pie charts. I would like to see the picture of the Target hits saved as well. This would help to see if I am pulling to one side or ther other. Maybe It’s available and I am not seeing it. I see another user mention that they would like to be able to clear the history. Maybe the developers can bin the sessions by Date. Just a thought. Anyway, it’s a great way to practice and see what your progress is. Thank you

The laser bullet is great and the stand, while flimsy, works well enough. The problem is Strikeman . When I first got it it was difficult to set up but it worked if the phone was close and the lighting bright enough. Calibration made sense but was a little off. Setting distance every time was obnoxious and it doesn’t say if the distance is how far you are away from the target or how far the phone is from the target. There is no way to clear history so all the garbage shots from calibration adjustments muddle your progress and results. There is also no way to set a delay to be able to work on draw to first shot. Basic functionality seems a simple update. Now, as of the mid June update, Strikeman is unusable. Calibration no longer works. If Strikeman is updated with auto calibration and basic features it could be really good. I want this system to work so if you need alpha or beta testers to make these upgrades, I would be happy to help. Lastly, some replacement orings would be nice for when there go bad.

The DRIFIRE system is a fantastic way to practice - especially considering our current challenges of closed ranges and limited ammo.

The system is sensitive to ambient light - the brighter the better from a hit tracking perspective. I removed the camera holder from the included tripod and attached it to a 4x6 inch 500 lumen rechargeable work light from a discount tool store ($25) with a threaded rod. Shot tracking is perfect, and I’m able to complete ten 20 round sessions in about 30 minutes. Strikeman is being upgraded to handle a couple of the glitches, but screen grabbing the image after each session is an easy way to store my history.

I would highly recommend this as an option for at home practice - whether we are in isolation or not. The money I’m saving on ammo, will stay in the bank until supplies rebound.

Cartridge is well made, the target is decent, could be a bit brighter, the phone holder is cheap and not a good height, however Strikeman is where the real problem is. It just doesn’t pick up the target well at all which makes it hard to fit the phone to pick up the laser light. Also Strikeman , after you finish your training, has a small glitch (not to mention that if you move the phone slightly you’ll lose the proper target picture showing your shots) but it also covers the information with a huge bar saying start over, share etc. that information shouldn’t be included in the image shared. And finally, it sticks to have rack the slide each time. That’s something I kind of assumed upon purchase, but after watching a video, I assumed there was a way around it seeing as they had a gentleman doing just that. Great idea, not so great execution.

I had bought the system in February. It works very well. I had reached out as I needed more laser bullets for my .38 as I had only purchased one. Unfortunately they were sold out and I had some issues making contact. Turns out they were issues on my end. NOT a lack of response from the DRIFIRE team.
I was recently able to make contact and they are wonderful. Not only did they honor my expired coupon but they went out of their way to help me out
As for the system it works well and is a useful tool in normal times In these extraordinary times I find this an especially useful tool. I no longer have to risk going out to the range and can practice at home while social distancing from others

Strikeman is the very best laser dryfire system. I’ve purchased and tried any other one you can find and over all this system is absolutely wonderful. However, some small things I’ve encountered is (possibly because my phone is old) some of the hits don’t register, but as long as I execute a steady trigger pull without the laser streaking across the target it registers accurately. One thing I wish that they had is a Quick Draw or shot timer system, even make it so one could work on transitions, split times between firearms, and potentially mag changes. If they did this (accurately and within hundredths of a second 0.00) they will be THE BEST all encompassing laser app. Until then I will use another app for my quick draw.

I have been using Strikeman to practice target acquisition and trigger pull with my firearm. The latest app version makes it very easy to perform calibration when starting a new session. I love that it tracks your sessions and charts them on a graph so that you can see your progress. So far I have put about 1,000 rounds through it and have not had any issues with shots not being correctly recorded. The only addition I would like to see is the ability to track multiple users’ progress under the same app instead of each person having to use their own mobile device but this is only a minor inconvenience. We love this product!

There are other time proven methods of dry fire practice concepts available that do not cost a penny. Yes, dry fire is a great way to practice skills at home safely but you do not need this app to do this. Ask any range instructor or search online. Be aware that you cannot get your money back if not satisfied with this app after 15 days from purchase. So figure out if you like it very quickly. Strikeman is glitchy as users have reported. You have to rack the slide after each fire. Sometimes if the lighting is not just right, Strikeman starts recording erroneous fires that can’t be erased from your logged history. Don’t rely on that playing this game will allow one to improve accuracy with a real gun when needed most. Go practice at the range with an instructor or experienced individual learning basic concepts. They are not hard to learn. That is how you will save on money on ammo and build confidence.

So far I absolutely love the convenience and the ability to practice drawing and presenting more quickly. It’s also just been fun being able to handle my firearms and practice target acquisition from my home. Gets me excited to take what I am practicing dry firing at Home to the range. Easy to use, can set up and train anywhere. So far in my experience the laser cartridge is generally 95% ish on target and lands where I aim. Could be operator error in my Judgement, but over all I’d say that’s pretty great. I would 10/10 recommend to others. Will most likely wind up getting the Subscription and another cartridge for my .357!

The this app system is not only plowing me to shoot far more in practice sessions or just for fun, than I was before. Now shooting an average of 40 rounds per day or two because it is so convenient.

Because of this, my consistency has greatly improved.

Strikeman itself does things I did nit realize it would do, before my purchase, so having the phone speak to me by calling my shots is very nice!

Calibration for each session is the key to a good recording. Making sure the phone/camera is in the best position from the target and using the right level of zoom will make each session record with no issues, but be patient and play with it, until you figure out that “sweet spot” for camera and zoom positioning for the best and most accurate calibration.

Once you do this, set-up takes less than 30 seconds and you are ready to begin!

Last point is that you will save huge cash on ammo expense by using this system! Paid for mine in about a week!!

We each bought one for the other as a late Christmas gift in April and we have to say we’re not one bit disappointment. Set up is fairly simple if you follow the video instructions and it works right out of the box. We saw almost instant improvement in our shooting the very first night. It’s great to be able to “fire “ my Glock for hours without burning thru ammo. I think mine has already paid for itself. Adam, on Customer Service is a pleasure to deal with so the product and service are unbeatable. Friends are enjoying our shootoffs and many already ordered theirs. Thank you this app!

Strikeman is great to use for training purposes. For site acquirement training, gripping your pistol properly, and trigger control. There are a few glitches. One being that it does not pick up every shot (but your still training so I’m not as upset about that). The other is after training there’s a screen glitch that puts an info bar big across the bottom and then you cannot click on your options. Basically having to close Strikeman to get rid of it. Very very frustrating. Kinda ruins the fun you were having. Overall I would recommend it to others and hope that this is fixed soon.

I bought this to help myself and my wife to get more familiar with our guns without the cost of range fees. It helps us all get comfortable with our guns, arm position, trigger, sights or optics, using the side and most importantly gun safety. Strikeman works well. There are times it doesn’t register. The audio scoring and sounds are a great addition. I like how I can review history. Some of the issues could me and how I set it up. Overall it provides a good safe environment during times like these. I do hope they continue to improve it and make this more affordable to all. Better for people to get comfortable with their guns then not.

Fantastic dry fire training tool. No brainer when you consider the time and money saved going to the range on ammo and range fees. Plus you don’t have to clean your gun afterward. Don’t get me wrong the range has its place and we should all go. But who has 2-4 hours on weekends to go consistently. This you can literally set up and tear down in 5 minutes and gives you immediate feedback on your proficiency and improvement. Store, hoard and save your ammo for when you need it. Use this in the meantime to improve your draw, target acquisition and trigger pull. 👍👍🥓🇺🇸

I’ve got 2 full time jobs with kids at home. I honestly don’t have time to go to the range to practice. I just set this bad boy up in the living room before I go to work and practice my marksmanship in an easy 15 minutes. this app system is safe, quiet, quick. Otherwise I’d spent a ton on ammo, range fees as well as time I’d have to rearrange my schedule for. Very glad this product came on the market. My only suggestion is to buy yourself a 5-6’ tripod to mount your phone to; it’ll be much easier than stacking boxes on an ironing board.

I’ve been using the this app for a few weeks and I love it. While there’s no replacement for the range and real shooting practice, this is the best alternative I have seen. Waaayyy better than dry fire or practice gun options. You get to use your personal firearm which is ideal. You have to get use to Strikeman and the process but that literally takes minutes. I highly recommend if you want to save drive & wait time at the range and ESPECIALLY the cost and shortage of ammo right now. I even purchased another toy because I can now practice with it :)

Seems like the camera only catches 50-75% of shots. On occasion it works flawlessly or not at all but for the most part it will pick up a shot or two then miss a shot or two. Seems to function better in night mode but that may just be my experience. I think maybe the camera isn’t sensitive enough but who knows.

The other glaring issue is the storage and organization of session data. It stores EVERYTHING and has no way to clear crap data. It would be nice to have a way to either clear bad sessions or even assign sessions types so you could filter out setup/calibration shots vs actually practicing. Without such a setting the metrics it offers are worthless.

I received the DriFire Laser Shot Training System, and thus far I am completely amazed and satisfied. It was quick and easy to set up and get Strikeman running. I tested the system out with groups of 10 shots at increasing distance each time, and found that Strikeman missed about 5 shots over 100 total shots, so it was able to capture 95% of the shots. All things considered, not a deal-breaker for me. Additionally, I realized that for accuracy of the “points”, you had to adjust the “target area” pretty precisely. Overall, I am impressed and happy with this investment, as it will greatly supplement my time at the range.

Just got my this app and been super excited to use it. Set it up and go to use it on night mode since I’m using every light in my room and day is to dark. Strikeman starts counting shots that I’m not even taking way off the target after I adjusted the target the way they want you to and everything. So right off the bat my score is all messed up. It’s not counting any of the shots the laser hits on the 10 and it’s counting them as somewhere else on the target. I’m not sure what’s going on here but I spent a lot of money on this system and two bullets for it but yet I can’t use it indoors?? I’m going to try it during the day and see if that helps.

I just got this, I don’t make it to the range very often and I miss being able to practice shooting. Thanks to COVID-19 I probably won’t be getting there any time soon. This product works right out of the box, it literally takes a couple minutes to set up. I have used my gun more in the last 3 days than I have in the last 3 years thanks to this product, it’s great for practicing drills indoors and is a lot of fun. It seems to work from a distance too, I’ve only been able to use from about 40 ft because I’m inside but I’ve had no problems.

The system is a good tool. It saves a person from expensive range days BUT it cannot replace it completely.

Strikeman works well but if others want to join in on the training they cannot unless you do not mind your stats being effected.

The final screen shot of the shots taken are cool but you have to remember not to move your phone before hitting “END” if not the shot alignment is off.

I used a Glock 22, gen 4 to try this system. It worked well with the cartridge. It’s a little annoying to have to keep charging the slide but it is what it is.

Overall, I like it and will continue to use it. Since it’s Day 1, no real feedback is provided so we shall see.

I think having multiple users would be a great start. I’m a stats guy and having others wanting to join in surely messes with that.

Honestly saw the bad reviews and was prepared for the worst, but the only complaints I have are: it was hard to put the suction cups in the target, and the picture on Strikeman is dark for some reason. Now for the good. I love the ability to practice in my own home, as someone who lives about 45 minutes from a range it’s hard (and expensive) to go there. This is a great solution, yes there are kinks but that’s what investment is for, I’m so excited to see where this product goes, 5/5!!! (Also I’m not a bot lol)

I agree about dark or black screen and one second normal but dark screen on first starting. I found that after a session if you choose “Start Again” rather than returning to “training” to start a new session the screen is suddenly bright and clear. No doubt Strikeman needs to be fixed. Also need a complete and detailed manual about everything. What do the numbers at the bottom of the after session target view mean? They also need to allow for editing the history of sessions. For example, being able to delete a session. The problems with Strikeman will kill this product if not fixed.

The idea behind this is a good one, however they missed the mark with Strikeman .
The instructions say Strikeman will use your camera’s sensitivity to adjust so it can pick up the target....WRONG! You can’t even tell there is a target in view unless you shine a bright light on the target. Once you do that, it’s better.
I don’t have the level of missed shots that the others have had but it could be because I have the light shining on it, not sure.
They could also make this much more fun with different targets and scenarios.
I give it two stars until they address Strikeman issues.
