Does a decent job

This is my first Apple Watch sleeping app. I like it! The interface is very easy to use and looks nice. I like how I can look at it on my watch or my iPhone. The automatic tracking is also a huge plus.

I definitely feel NapBot is more of a take it with a grain of salt though. There’s been a few times where I wake up in the middle of the night and NapBot doesn’t notice. Makes me wonder if the data is 100% accurate. I use it more to just get a general idea of how I slept.

Overall great app!

Poor Development...

If you want to try NapBot out do not pay for premium as it riddled with bugs that for me using a iPhone 11 and Series 5 basically turned NapBot into nothing but one screen that stayed frozen eternally set on the first screen. Maybe with a massive amount of bug fixes and the most basic of tools in place it could be justified as premium but for now given the amount of bugs and features that are not accessible I do not believe that NapBot is more than a free version. For the developer to say NapBot “learns over time” is a big stretch for me to imagine, as he confirmed you can not edit the inaccuracies, so what is it actually learning from? Most apps use motion and heart rate however what exactly is bases for NapBot as neither of those seem to apply. It has tracked me as asleep when eating dinner and moving around at any given time of day etc. and I have checked all the permissions more than once and done power cycles on both devices as well not force closed NapBot based the on developer replies and the end results of the most off the wall sleep results of the 8 tracking apps I have tried.

Sleep Analysis Rarely Matches My Perception of Sleep

I purchased the premium version of this app and really like the simplicity it provides. I just strap on my fully charged watch before bed and it seems to figure out my start & end sleep times very accurately. On rising, I feel like I’ve gotten a good night’s sleep most of the time but according to this app it shows I was awake 30-50% of the time and only reached deep sleep under 10% of the time. My goal is 8 hours of sleep, but most of the time time it says I only slept 4-5 hours. I do get up 1-2 times per night to use the bathroom but I’m only up 2-3 minutes at most & almost always fall back to sleep within 5 minutes. I just don’t understand why NapBot says I’m awake so much of the time. I understand that deep sleep is normally only 10-15% but I feel like I’ve been in light sleep most of the rest of the night. Seeing all those bright yellow bars just doesn’t match how I perceive my sleep quality.

Inaccurate and Buggy

I’m skeptical that NapBot uses ML at all. Nearly every single day, it thinks I’ve slept a full hour after I actually get out of bed. I get out of bed at 6am every weekday and start my morning routine. Every weekday, NapBot thinks I am in bed until around 7am. This would be a little less frustrating to deal with if it wasn’t with the persistent issues with editing the sleep times. Every version seems to claim improved editing but in every version so far, I will edit the time and tap save and the time does not update. I end up having to edit it several times for it to stick. The latest update also claims editing improvements. I’m not sure I would call it an improvement but something did change with editing. Today, like all other days, NapBot says I slept an hour longer than I did. When I went to edit the time, NapBot crashed.

I cannot recommend NapBot and certainly cannot justify the Pro subscription in its current state.

Not very effective

It doesn’t do a good job of tracking when I wake up in the middle of the night or how long it takes me to fall asleep. When I put my phone into the sleep focus and put it down for the night, it thinks that is when I fell asleep even though it takes me a few minutes to fall asleep after that. It’s inaccurately telling me I am getting more sleep than I really do.

To the developer who wrote the absolutely useless response: I KNOW IT DOES NOT USE MY iPHONE TO TRACK MY SLEEP. I’m not as dense as you obviously are. The problem is that it always thinks the time I fell asleep is when I put my phone into sleep focus. It doesn’t factor in the ~15 minutes it takes me to fall asleep. It is thinking I’m sleeping longer than I really am. I don’t care how it does it, I just need it to give me an accurate time for when I fell asleep, which it doesn’t.

App works good for me but for a five star upgrade...

I’d be more than glad to upgrade this to five star and keep my subscription going if there’s a way to be able to end the sleep manually. Why? When I actually woke up and got out of bed was about 45 minutes sooner then when app said I woke up. I go to rest room and read sitting down for a good 30-40 minutes so I think it was counting that time period as if I was still sleeping. it counted that time as awake. But at 5:09 or so when I actually woke up it showed no awake time. It would be nice if I could select “end sleep” if indeed that would work I don’t mind doing that and I will be a happy camper so to speak.

It's a love hate relationship

I'll start with the love. I love that NapBot isn't draining my battery and how simple it is to use. However, the data given isn't accurate. I am using the pro version, my husband is using free.

We go to bed at the same time every night. It takes me a long time to fall asleep and stay asleep. While my husband is snoring as soon as his head hits the pillow. My data will show that I was in light sleep immediately, 1-2 hours BEFORE we went to bed. It also indicates that I was in light or deep sleep all night. Nope! While my husbands data shows he was awake for hours and literally got 0% deep sleep every night only getting light sleep, again starting 1-2 before we even went to bed.

Seeing how this is happening every night, I don't think it's fluke. I have to edit the timeframe every morning. I wish I could have more faith in the actual data as well.

After a year

Ive subscribed and used NapBot for over a year now and I’ve finally decided to delete it and use a different sleep tracking app. It constantly has bugs and only worked perfectly as intended for a few months out of the year. Many times it would only show the data from the night before and wouldn’t show any previous nights. And most recently it stopped working completely. Even after updating to iOS 15 it hadn’t tracked my sleep for two nights. I decided to download a different sleep app and it has worked very well so I unsubscribed here and went with the other app. I did enjoy NapBot when it worked and it did help me to understand my sleep better but I’m not willing to pay for it with its constant bugs.

Isn’t accurate

I’m using the free version, which doesn’t allow you to look at the past nights sleep. Annoying but not the reason for one star. It plainly is just not accurate. One night i woke up three times, looked at my watch for the time and fell back asleep. The next morning, it did not show that i ever woke up, in fact during two of those times, it showed me in deep sleep. Another night, i woke up at 4:30 am and fell back asleep around 5 for for another 1.5 hours. It showed me up at 4:30. Also, this morning i got up at 4:45 and put my watch on the charger. It showed me asleep until 5:51, which is when i removed it from the charger. Does NapBot not know when it’s charging?? I would never pay for the pro app, not if the simple features available for free aren’t accurate. Disappointed, i really wanted this to work.

Data Not accurate

I dowloaded NapBot to compare how it works to another app but the data in NapBot is clearly inaccurate. The other app I compared to gives more detailed reports about the intervals of deep sleep to light sleep. When I compared it to the data in NapBot I was surprised to see that NapBot would say I had deep sleep during periods where I was actually in light sleep in the other app. Because the other app is more thorough in its statistical reports I trust that app’s information over this one. I hope the developers of NapBot fix their algorithm for accurate sleep readings. The only thing I liked was that the user interface was simple and easy to navigate on this one

Hasn’t worked since premium subscription expired

Although it claims that the subscription only unlocks additional features, since the free trial ran out, it hasn’t been anywhere near accurate, when it works at all. The numbers are all wrong. Charging my watch is recorded as deep sleep. Maybe it’s just a coincidence that it stopped working when the subscription ended, but it makes it unlikely I’ll want to resubscribe. Just another waste of space on my phone.

UPDATE (in response to developer reply) so you’re saying there’s some other reason it’s stopped working, but you can’t guess what that might be. Got it. Already deleted.

Wrong time zone? Inaccurate Sleep data!

I have found that this app seems to think that I am in a different time zone, as all times shown are an hour earlier than local time. Do developers have a fix to that? Time and time zone are correct on all my devices otherwise - just wrong on this app.

It also shows (somewhat accurately, I think,) how many times I awake during the night but rarely shows me in Deep Sleep. I am a Lucid Dreamer, and from what I understand of sleep physiology, one cannot dream, much less Lucid Dream with sleep paralysis, unless one is in deep REM sleep. this app almost always shows only light sleep with heart rate High Resting. Both of these seem to be improving with use, so perhaps NapBot is learning.

Lastly, if I get out of bed even momentarily, NapBot ends that sleep cycle and starts another when I return to bed. Sometimes it never does start logging sleep again that morning. Developers need to fix that. Perhaps a “pause”
Function is in order? Work in progress, I suppose.

Great but want some more

Hi,
I think NapBot is great at its current stage. The sleep detection works automatically and I found it very useful. I use this along with my watch se. I have one suggestion like can you add bed time and wake-up time trends in the trends section and also allow user to set bedtime and wake-up time along with sleep duration goal. I think this is also very important for the health hygiene along with 8 hrs of sleep. Also can you tweak the graph a little bit for some visual appeal. Thanks!!

Very inaccurate - says I’m sleeping for hours when I know that I wasn’t

I was looking for an app that measures sleeping multiple times per day because I have a bad tendency to nap and I wanted to know how deeply I was sleeping during those times. (As far as I know, Apple’s sleep tracker only measures sleep during your set bedtime schedule.) However, this is not NapBot for me. It says I’m in a light sleep when I’m lying down scrolling on my phone. And just this morning, it said I got 8 hours of sleep but I know I only slept 4 because I had insomnia and was checking the time on my watch while in bed. The Apple sleep app is way more sensitive at telling the difference. Off to try another app.

Bad Watch Interface

I’ve been trying for months trying to find a Watch app that tracks sleep accurately and doesn’t require me to open my phone. This seems to do it!! However the watch interface doesn’t look the way it does on NapBot Store. Where it says “awake” “deep” and “light” the letters are askew and the word “awake” is written on two lines. This is a minor detail and overall I do love the way NapBot works. The main reason it’s not getting 5 stars is because of the price. I would absolutely be willing to pay a $2-$3 like the rest of the sleep apps but I think $9 is really excessive.

By

Average sleep tracker

I’ve had NapBot for a week now. When I open it the next morning it doesn’t show me my sleep stats. I click on all the prompts at the bottom of NapBot still nothing opens. My son has the same app on his Series 5 watch and works fine. Some how for me the complete opposite. I now go to my watch app to trigger it to open on my phone. The Fitbit watch sleep app worked perfectly for me before getting a new Series 5 watch. I can only suggest that this apps gets fixed for us to use it without the hiccups.

Accurate sometimes

Overall I’m pleased with NapBot but lately it thinks I’m asleep until 10am from 9pm or it thinks I’m awake for 2 hours in the middle of the night. Other times when I am awake for an hour or 2 during the night reading a book on my phone, it thinks I’m still asleep. So the readings are a bit crazy. Wish it was a bit more accurate.

Worked? b4 14.7 & 14.8 after not at all

Questionable performance, frequently missing the 1st 2 hours of sleep u go to bed at 12 with cpap machine which also tracks sleep and interruptions it says I slept 8 hrs but Nap bot says I slept 6. If I had lain awake for 2 hours I would know it. Happened multiple nights then the whole app shutdown, lost previous nights records can't access app. Go to Health click "Turn on all categories " then click "Allow" in top right corner, pages closes, reopen page, "Allow" is greed out and all of the categories buttons are off now though they were on and green when I clicked allow. Refund please.

Great app, a few problems

I have been using NapBot for roughly 2-3 weeks. When it works it’s great and tracks my sleep nearly perfectly. However most of the time I open NapBot on my phone or watch the sleep data is not there and unavailable; every now and then it all shows up and works fine but most of the time it doesn’t.

Update: NapBot shouldn’t have to be open all the time for me to get my sleeping history; sounds like an excuse... maybe the devs can’t figure it out.

Nice but Strange bugs

I was a long time AutoSleep user. Frankly, it was an overwhelming app, with too many options and too much data. It felt like homework analyzing my sleep. NapBot has the simplicity and data aggregation I’m after.

I’m paying for a sub...but want to see some bugs addressed before I can fully recommend this. For instance.c last night I had 6 hours of sleep, and the timeframe shows it, yet it thinks I slept 11+ hours. I I wish!

Fix those bugs and I’ll update my review. Good to see frequent updates and it is obvious the developer cares.

Erratic tracking

I thought NapBot followed my Bedtime settings in the Clock app. At first I was happy with the results with wearing my Apple Watch to bed, so I paid for the pro upgrade. But after a week NapBot stopped tracking properly, and instead gives erratic results. Some days it doesn’t track sleep at all. Last night it says I went to bed at 5pm, woke up at 11pm (when I actually went to bed), and that I was awake all night (when I was actually sleeping). So I really don’t know where NapBot is getting its data.

By

Have to agree about the weird bugs

I wanted so much to like NapBot because of the positive reviews it got from my favorite websites before release, but it’s been nothing but strange.

I will put my Apple Watch on from charging right before I go to bed, and somehow this app will have a sleep time starting HOURS before, while my Watch was still on the charger with no way to get any data to indicate I was sleeping.

Seemingly the only way to delete an entire sleep entry is from the Health app, but sometimes that just causes this app to duplicate the entries.

I am more than happy to return and update my review if some of the weirdness is ironed out. AutoSleep was fine but honestly way overwhelming for what I was looking for. This UI and the concept of ML sleep tracking is great, but I can’t keep it going with the bugs and bad tracking.

By

Not accurate

I find NapBot might have some potential, but is consistently inaccurate tracking the time I go to sleep and impossible to edit the times. I canceled my subscription since the trend info that you get for your $, can’t possibly be accurate if the data is not accurate. It claims to use ML, but I found it was more accurate the first couple of days and got more off track as the weeks went on, so it isn’t learning much.

By

Still buggy

I really want to love NapBot, but it continues to be buggy. Still having issues with duplicate entries, and there’s no way to completely delete a record for a day. You can remove a sleep interval, but not the “in bed” interval. Hoping these bugs can get resolved soon, otherwise will have to cancel subscription until its working better.

By

Was good at launch, now wildly inaccurate

When NapBot first launched it was more accurate than AutoSleep, but now it’s detecting me sleeping during the day when AutoSleep has no such issue. this app also doesn’t see any new sleep data when I wake up and run NapBot , unlike AutoSleep where last night’s data is immediately available. I have to wait hours before it shows up in this app. Again, this is a bug that didn’t exist at launch but does now.

Going back to AutoSleep.

How to adjust for different bed time each night? Confused

Not much documented on to use app especially bedtime I think it counted reading in a chair

By

Where’s the big update

I can’t get any complications on my watch and I pay monthly for NapBot. When I tap on my watch nothing happens I’ve been to every complication on my phone there is none

By

Not very robust

Had NapBot for a few weeks now, wear my watch every night, and yet the ‘sleep’ history doesn’t show the majority of the nights. There’s also very little ‘analysis’ which is what I was actually looking for in an app.

Spent $10 for the year of “Pro”, maybe there’ll be some updates with new features.

By

Great and Simple but missing features

This is a great simple app but it is missing important features. Perhaps the most important one is a way to track duration of sleep when not wearing a watch. The simplest way to do this is to track when the watch is set to charge and use this data along with phone movement to estimate.

By

Nice UI, but missed two nights in last 5 days

Gave NapBot a try because I really like the way it presents the data (came over from Sleep++) but two nights in the last five it has failed to log any sleep data, despite wearing my watch. Kind of defeats the purpose of NapBot if it doesn’t reliably log the data.

Better with every update

It’s interesting to watch NapBot progress into a good product.
Keep up the hard work!
