Spammy ads

Is there a way to get Needlentory without all the spam on the pallet’s pages and the pop up screens?

Not user friendly

Can’t figure out how to use Needlentory. Everything has to be put in manually. I’d rather spend my time sewing.

Gone to seed…don’t bother downloading

Needlentory was good and had the potential to be even better, but I can no longer recommend it. Today I opened it and there were suddenly huge ads taking up almost the entire screen and no way to remove them. Needlentory used to have a clean streamlined appearance, but no more. The ads are so large they are intrusive and get in the way of using Needlentory . Information that once appeared near the top of the screen is now displaced completely off the screen requiring the user to scroll past what amounts to a full page ad just to get to information that should be easily accessible.

So many ads now!

I’ve had Needlentory for a few years and have loved how it helps me plan purchases for new projects; however, recently it’s gotten to a point where I have an ad every time I add a thread color to a project. It’s kind of obnoxious now and takes way longer to get things organized since the ads won’t close for 5 seconds each time.

Has potential, but TOO MANY ADS!!

Needlentory is clumsy to set up, but I finally got the DMC color preloads imported from her other app. Then began adding my inventory of DMC. There was an ad after every data entry. Mark 1 skein of 310. 5 second ad. Mark 1 skein of 318. 5 second ad. It will take all day, therefore making Needlentory unusable.

ETA: I decided to give it a second chance. For some reason I only had one ad, so I entered all my floss in one sitting! Changed to 3 stars. Will update my review if improved further!

Helpful app… workflow problems

I am grateful for Needlentory . It has helped me organize my threads! However, there are some workflow issues that make it very time consuming to use. Also, I am having issues with an iCloud backup from my iPhone appearing on my iPad to import. This makes me nervous that if I ever need a new phone my backup won’t appear and I would lose all my information. I’m tech savvy, iCloud is turned on and iThreads is on as well within the iCloud permissions, it isn’t an apple problem. Anyways, helpful in the short term but I may need to look for another app that I can trust more and has better workflow.

Please Reverse Update Changes

I always had a few minor issues with Needlentory, mainly UI issues (like 1-click transfer from shopping list to stash versus their convoluted process), but this newest update has made Needlentory virtually unusable. I can no longer look at a specific color to see which patterns I have marked need it. I can’t just mark that a pattern has that color, it wants a skein allotment. I’ve used Needlentory for quite awhile, but it looks like I’ll need to find another app.

Good, but

I would like an option to purchase an ad free version. This ap is very good, and does what I need it to do, but every time you do anything you have to watch a 5 second ad, which quickly becomes annoying when you’re trying to input your inventory.

Useful app

I use Needlentory to keep track of my cross stitch projects and inventory of flosses. It was a little difficult to learn how to use. The creator has some YouTube videos, but I find it hard to understand what is being shown - no audio or text. I think it’s pretty good for a free app!

Pretty good 👍

I really like Needlentory and being able to have an inventory of my embroidery floss. Entry is a bit click heavy, I would prefer to be able to add a skein in the first screen of the color. It takes 5-ish clicks to get your skein quantity recorded. A simple “+” button would be much easier.

It would also be helpful to have a palette of Appletons wool too. I didn’t see that line offered.

Overall great could be a bit easier to add skeins.

Love it!

I love Needlentory . I wish I could pay one fee to get an ad-free version though.

Excellent response from programmer

Quick response to questions about using the iThreads and iMuline apps together. Loving these apps!

Love this App

At first I was hesitant to use because it seemed hard adding everything in but download iMuline so you can import all the threads. That makes this a breeze to use. I love that I can add all my projects and choose which one I am shopping for at any given time. Makes shopping so much easier. I was carrying around paper lists and if I forgot them then no new thread. Now I have my list all the time and can always buy new thread for my projects. Definitely recommend for anyone that has multiple projects going at a time.

I don’t know what I would do without it!

It is a wonderful app that helps me to keep track of my stock, and makes shopping way easier! Love it!
I just wish changing quantity and adding to shopping list was more streamlined!

Works great

Needlentory is very helpful. It’s my way of keeping track of which floss colors I have and how many skeins. I also like that I can note if the floss color is kitted with a project and which one. It also keeps track of any colors that I need to buy. I would absolutely recommend this for anyone who wants to keep their floss organized.

So useful for floss inventory and projects

I have come to rely on Needlentory for managing all the floss I’ve bought over the years, and love the ability to quickly track what I need to buy when I plan a new project. Some of the UI flows aren’t the most intuitive, but the utility vastly outweighs any difficulty. I would highly recommend Needlentory for any embroiderer/stitcher.

It’s a awesome solution

Logical and flexible.

I am new to needlepoint and focus on smaller projects. I feel as though I buy a lot of the same colors. I began using Needlentory yesterday and catalogued 6 projects and associated threads.

Needlentory relieves a lot of stress!! The ability to associate the threads with a project is awesome. The current shipping challenges means that it is not unusual for a store to be out of two or more threads needed for a project. I now know if I already have a needed thread or I can indicate in Needlentory that I need to buy a specific thread in the future.

It does take time to enter the information, but I feel much more informed about my “inventory”. By the way, I love being able to add pictures of both the canvas and thread.

Just what I needed!

Stitching late tonight and discovered I’m missing a pattern-called-for-floss. I just pulled up Needlentory , located the missing floss and found a suitable replacement that I have. Thank you, thank you!! Of course this is just one of the reasons to love Needlentory. What a handy place to keep my inventory of floss—not to mention a place to keep a list of floss I need—even by manufacturer’s. No more carrying around notes on crumpled up little pieces of paper. I LOVE Needlentory 💕

Best embroidery/xstitch app, amazing developer!

I purchased Needlentory a couple months ago when I was obsessed with embroidery and cross stitch. It was almost perfect for what I needed, but there were a couple features that I felt like would really improve the functionality. I am so happy to see that the dev listened to the feedback I emailed them and was able to implement these changes/additions!! I highly recommend Needlentory to anyone looking to organize their projects and floss collection. 🎉

Most Concise Crossstitch App to Date

I really like the iThreads app and the way you pull your floss from the moline app. The two work seamlessly together.

My one GREAT CONCERN is iThreads does not have a library for CLASSIC COLORWORKS— this is a terrible imposition due to the fact that the majority of current designers are utilizing their floss.

So what was I to do? I tried several other crossstitch apps but eventually came back around to iThreads. My current workaround is to list my Classic Colorworks in the notes by Project.

This is also the case for Dinky Dyes Silks. A great idea would be to investigate floss used, possibly with one of the larger designers at needlework Expo, or even a large needlework shop such as Silver Needle in Oklahoma. Just an idea 😊
