Bought the Apple compatible version. Beware, you have to pay EXTRA for gel pads to stick it to a phone, or buy the Grip Pack, that is pictured with an iPhone, but the same page gives a list of what phones are compatible for the grip pack, which does not list any iPhone as compatible. The protective case for $60 (Really?) does not include anything else with it. So you need to buy “accessories” to even make it work? I missed that and will be returning the item. I’m not shelling out another $60 for a case, gel pads for for $15, and a ‘Grip Pack’ for $15. The purchase needs to include the basics to make it work. A very negative customer experience.

We got this hoping to explain confusing readings from inside a wall, but learned nothing new. This appears to be an expensive but common sensor pack that one uses with this ‘free’ app that uses the phones orientation sensors, processor, and screen to display the data more conveniently. While it does display what it believes to be wood studs, wiring, and metal, I’ve an old Black and Decker stud finder that’ll tell me that with a colored LED and I do not have to hook up a phone to.
It’s not junk, by any means, just an overly complicated and expensive device that doesn’t provide any new or more reliable data. I applaud the attempt to ‘build a better mousetrap’ but this is just the same ‘mousetrap’ you can now plug it into your phone.

If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. Have been using for a few different projects around the house. Works well and does show electric and plumbing. Discovered that we had some wood sheathing instead of true drywall in one area when we tried to use it and it couldn’t see anything! Definitely recommend and will improve with time I’m sure.

I have been using this around the house for the past several weeks. We just moved into this house, and I have a lot of installations such as flatscreen televisions, garage storage, curtain rods and blinds, etc… this device and app combination have been extremely helpful and highly accurate. I would use this device and app on my phone over a traditional stud finder any day of the week. It’s REALLY that good.

Just got done setting up the device & it does as advertised, I can see the stuff inside my wall(s). It’s not that much smaller than my iPhone 11 Pro Max so its very user friendly as far as holding it securely. The 2 issues that I do have are that first & foremost, the speed with which the items are displayed on the screen needs to be slowed down-big time. I was scrolling along my wall as slow as the strips on the Walabot would allow & stuff would just flash on/off the screen so fast I had to go back across to try to find them. Also w/ this, I’m going to the right along my wall yet I had studs, wires that would pop onto the screen from the left-hand side. No clue there. The other issue is that some kind of holder/case needs to be developed that can mount the Walabot & the user’s smartphone together. Holding the devices in 2 seperate hands & trying to monitor both @ the same time was a giant pain-especially when an arm got tired & had to switch which hand was holding what. Personally, if I’m looking @ a x-ray view of my wall(s) & I’m doing it solo, it would make more sense to have everything visible in one self-contained unit, my phone over top of the Walabot. Since I suffer from “old-home syndrome” this will be super helpful finding studs while trying to fix it up

So first of all I’ve been waiting for the longest time for the Walabot to be available with iPhone. Let me just say the wait was worth it! I love the fact that I can see if there’s power beside the fact of showing where the studs are which recently came in handy when I was popping in switch at the corner of a wall and turned out there was already some power there that I definitely would’ve hit if I would’ve just taken my holesaw and cut into the wall!👍👍

I ordered Walabot DIY 2 version a year ago and really enjoy using it for any project around my home to find what behind the wall. Much better and more accurate than any scanner out there. Excellent product. For service, recently I received an email from Walabot follow up on how was the product after one year. I was surprised no company I bought product from ever followed up this long after purchasing with customer like Walabot. Only waiting for me to have issue and contact them. Luckily I was having what I thought was my first issue after one year with battery not charging issue. Walabot responded quickly and provided troubleshooting steps and found me the solution quickly. What an excellent follow up and service. I gave them a 5 stars. Wish there were 10 stars, I would give their perfect 10. Thanks Walabot.

This is a huge step up from the traditional stud finder! Works great and picks up everything in the wall and identifies what is is, it can even find other things that may be unwanted in the wall!
One thing I would love to see is a snap on cradle with spongey type roller wheels on it to account for heavily textured walls. It is a tad difficult to maintain distance and run along a wall with thick texture. With a snap on cradle that has some sort of doing loaded or foam wheels to make it easier to drag along the wall without damaging either the wall or the unit.
Just a suggestion…

I purchased this to hang a TV bracket. Originally I thought I’ll end up probably returning it based on some reviews and my own potential limited use. It worked perfectly. I like the way it showed the center of the stud. This helped immensely. Frankly I’ve used other low cost stud finders only to end drilling too many holes. Ok, it has its drawbacks with having to use my phone and the unit, but considering the better graphics on the phone and not just a “scale” on the stud finder, I’m sold. I’ll keep this for future use!

I am a pretty savvy handyman around the house and I always look for things that will help me get the job done easier. The Walabot does exactly as they advertised. Takes a little bit to get used to, but I have used it now to hang a tv, several pictures and most recently to mount floating nightstands and a floating desk. I haven’t missed a stud yet. Nifty tool here.

I’ve already played around with this device just trying to find stuff I already know is there. I plan to use it around the house for some home improvement projects and eventually take it to work to help me find anchor points for copper line sets and to help run wires for air conditioning units and thermostats ( I install air conditioning units for a living)

This product does everything I’ve asked it to do extremely well. There’s no way I’d ever go back to any of the previous products I’ve previously used. If you want a product that works as advertised I recommend this product. It is very user friendly and easy to use, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

I forgot I ordered this item. It’s been so long, I think about 5 or more months. It works amazing. I can use my cell phone to see what’s in the walls, no more guessing. Even with stud finders I’m not always sure if it’s a stud or pipe I’m hitting. However, this tool makes the guess work simple. Now I’m not going to lie I wish I had it 5 months ago but I’m glad I have it now.

I am a professional tradesman and certified tool geek. I bought the original Walabot years ago but because I am a dedicated iPhone user, I was never happy with it.
This new version is the cat’s own a**. First time out it allowed me to find a four inch channel to fish a wall between an indoor window and door.
It is better than any studsensor. It’s ability to “see” the horizontal crap that really throws us low voltage and electrical workers for a loop is invaluable.

I can not do my home repairs or upgrades without the Walabot. I’ve installed handicap bars in my shower without missing a stud. I’ve converted my garage to a woodworking shop doing drywall, plywood and French cleats. Ceiling joists, wall studs gas lines and electric wires were easily and accurately found. Mounting an 80 inch TV on the living room wall was so easy I wouldn’t hesitate to add more in my house. No missed studs means no holes to patch. What a great product!!

I wish that I had bought the Walabot about three weeks earlier than I did. It would have prevented me from drilling into my GAS LINE in the garage. The stud finder that I used showed only a stud with no electrical cable. It had no way of discerning there was a gas line there. Anyway, all is well now - just a $1200 repair bill.
This little gadget would have prevented my closest brush with death/serious injury so far! Buy it, use it, enjoy your uninjured life!

This thing is awesome! You have to admit that technology to see inside walls at an affordable price is pretty amazing. Had no issues connecting via Bluetooth and the scanning was as straightforward as can be…Easy peezy! Now that I’m use to it and how it works it is a no brainer to use for all my wall needs. I am a new home owner and the Walabot has been the go-to tool for hanging pictures, clock, and shelving. This thing so good had to buy another as a gift for my brother! Great job Walabot!

I’ve had an old fashioned stud finder for years. I hand held battery operated light that worked, sometimes so it was always followed with the knock along the wall test. This tool has changed all of that! I can drill or cut with confidence that I’m not cutting into anything I shouldn’t be, and securely hanging cabinets and pictures.

It is awesome. We spent 6 years in a +93 year old home, this would have been a Godsend. It’s still great for our +50 year old home too!!

It is easy to use, I bought it to find the study in my house so I can hang my wife’s pictures. And since I’ve had it I have helped my neighbors out. I did find 2 minor problems. Keeping my phone attached and when you pull it over finished and painted drywall it sometimes catches on rough finish and causes the phone to come out of the plastic holders. So I used a piece of terry cloth and it does Ok, I also installed WalabotDIY on my iPad and then just run it over the wall alone, both methods work fine.

I have always hated using a stud finder. Even using the good ole fashioned tape measure knowing the distances between studs. I saw this on the internet and said now way. Well, WAY, in a big way. Once you use the Walabot, you will never use anything else. With the ability to see what is behind your dry wall, you will never miss again. You SEE what is going on behind there. Easy to find and mark. Runs via blu tooth on your phone. You see the studs, and electrical, or anything else that is back there. Well worth the money. Great investment to have in your tool box!

I was remodeling our pantry in our new home and didn’t have a reliable stud finder to use and screwed into the main incoming water line unleashing a flood in our new kitchen and hard wood floors. The since purchased Walabot would have avoided this buy warning me of the water lines and protection plates that did little to protect or warn me. The thin metal plates were to keep screws or nails away from the water lines but they were thin tin and offered no resistance to a 3 “ screw and hammer drill. The Walabot clearly shows areas that should have been avoided and would have saved me $275 plumbing repair,

I am, by no means, a professional carpenter, electrician, plumber, etc, but like a lot of people, I have had my share of time with various stud finders. Without a doubt, Walabot got this right! The device is about the size of a smart phone, WalabotDIY pairs easily with it, you follow the prompts to find what is behind the wall, you can see the item behind the wall and it actually identifies whether that item is a wire, pipe, stud… ( really, that’s all I need to know) I have faith that if Walabot locates an item, it’s going to be right where Walabot says it is and not 3 inches away! I can’t wait to see future innovations, what this does already is incredible!!

I received the Walabot as a gift. Overall I am well pleased with its performance. Because the Walabot provides a visual image, it is superior to other stud finders. because it eliminates guesswork. I use it to locate and identify conduit runs, and junction boxes. The “expert” mode takes a lot of getting used to, there is no explanation of the meanings of the colors provided by the manufacturer.
I have an iPhone 10 in an otter box, there is no way to attach the Walabot to the phone, I have to use both hands which can be inconvenient when you are up on a ladder or lift.
Other than that, the device works great, in order to protect the sensor from abrasions or scratches I put it in a thin plastic bag, there is no obvious attenuation of the signal.

I was installing an in- line fan for my laser engraver, and needed to cut a 4” hole to vent it outside, 1st time drilling thru a double wall. I just bought a stud finder, however, I wasn’t comfortable to use it, because, close to where I was drilling was my main outside electrical box. So, I bought my Walabot DIY2 for my iPhone, from EBay, found where the stud was at & the electrical wire, drilled hole via the double wall without hitting anything. So, in my opinion, this is a 5 Star product.
