AVG Mobile Security Reviews

My only complaint about this software is having to pay additional fee for each divice on the same home network. Well there is another and that being there is no details of what the software is doing and no documentation to give details when it notifies if an attack. Or intrusion hack or virus or trojan virus or even details when it warns of a malicious site it just blocked not even why it determined the site is malicious and blocked it.

This is not needed if you set your devices up correctly!
When I am on the net , I am a CARTOON character.
So if I am Fred Flintstone’s long lost cousin they can have all the info I have. One of my devices I am a old western cowboy and it works flawlessly. I never buy anything without PayPal which keeps me safe and all my info masked on their site , AVG also told me I was in danger because I didn’t use the passcode. I am using my devices inside the safety of my home so why would I frustrate myself with this worthless feature. Passcode doesn’t help at all because the harm is on the inside after you open the door and if you are smart enough not too store your passwords inside the device and all the info is faulty you should be safe . Why is the scan button on AVG dead ? It doesn’t do anything but give you a report that something is wrong. My device is brand new yet is infected , LOL . If Apple would stop being cowardly and take a stand against these bullying developers who slam us with rotten ad infested apps and other questionable actions then we would be safer. I will never let my kids use a iPad without being supervised for their protection. You would be surprised how many time I had to disapprove of a kids app because they think we are checking and Apple isn’t paying attention! So only common sense can keep us safe on these devices!

So, protection is a great idea. However, when the privacy browsing is on. You cannot make any app work. I deleted it and IT KEPT THE VPN. Screwed everything.

Edit: I had it active while on WIFI at the house. I left and it went to LTE service. I had forgot to turn it off when I left. I tried to load an app and it didn't work, said connection issue. I realized it was still connected. Tried to disconnect and it would not allow me to. I was not able to view Facebook, safari or even send IMessages because of it. Don't know why. So I deleted AVG since I was going to be gone a while. It still stayed connected...could not turn off through VPN settings on the phone or anything. Had to wait until I got home again a few hours later to disconnect it and delete. Then restart my phone to clear it.

AVG is probably the best one yet. It doesn’t make you pay when you get AVG and it only does if you want the pro. The only thing I wish is that they could secure browsing because that is where most of it happens. It would mean a lot if you could change this but if not... well.. that’s ok. Anyways, I definitely recommend it.

I paid for AVG. A foolish decision. It slows down loading your apps on iOS for both iPad & iPhone. It does not stop spam in Gmail. There does not seem to be a US based customer service phone # where someone actually answers the phone. It’s the same with online chat - no response. I miss our IT manager where I used to work. I never had problems with spam in Gmail or Outlook. Make sure you don’t mail anything to a temp or contractor at a CPA firm. I used a small CPA firm & the result was large quantities of spam in Gmail. I have “ fired” the CPA firm & it’s taking hours to notify all my contacts & newsletters about my new email.

The “Web Protection” component of AVG is broken. The VPN often breaks and causes IP leakage, and the online activity counter is unreliable and doesn’t actually measure the amount of websites visited, etc. I was told this would be fixed soon and was a “top priority” by this app support/development team. Unfortunately, 5 months have passed and the issues persists.

As a core component of AVG , it’s unacceptable that this app continues to let such issues go unchecked and unresolved. If/when these problems are addressed, I’ll happily provide an updated review. Until then, this is 2 out of 5 stars.

I have this app on my computer and my smartPhone. I trust this app. I have hit the wrong key a number of times over the years and this app has stopped me from going to malicious sites that could cause damage.
I'm retired, disabled and I live on very little Social security and SSI. Without this great service, I do not know how I could enjoy going on the Internet, learning every day and feeling safe.

When there was a problem with what was downloaded and installed technical support was readily available and resolved the issue quickly. Have used free version for several years with no issues but wanted to add VPN and tuneup features so moved to Ultimate version.

This use to be a simple app that had its small problems but ever since the updates it’s gotten slower taking twice as long to reconnect to the vpn everytime you open something and it basically freezes if you try using the new web monitoring feature it will make anything you do take minutes to open and actually connect to the internet so it was a useless feature for me.

I tried the 2 week free trial of AVG. Canceled the paid version but it said could keep on using it until Feb 20, 2021. Today. Well.... this morning woke up with pop ups all over my phone saying cannot verify Google..com, this app..com and multiple other .coms I’ve NEVER had including hotmail.
( double .. so would not create links) Not until I UNINSTALLED and removed everything associated with this app could I use my iPhone without constant pop ups. Very very upset and am in process of sending screen shots to Apple of what happened!

I thought that this was an amazing app, which to me it is. I just wish the subscription price was lower. I think that the things that this app comes with is good! I used it on my pc to help remove viruses. But I especially wish the pro subscription wasn’t as high as it is for just a web security. But out of that, I think AVG is perfect and would be good for anyone that needs an anti-virus.

This virus protector is great! I trust it and don’t think it could allow you to get a virus. But I just did a scan and when I swiped out AVG it was glitching and two times it said something was detected quickly and disappeared. Could you please let me know if that’s fine?

This saved me so much money because I had many viruses until I found this and I was like wow I saved over 12m in the past year because I put my numbers in notes and they were being hacked and virusication but AVG is awesomeness

My contract dates back to when this app first stepped out with its security online application. Back then it was 1 computer, and now phones and tablet added as well. An excellent app. That has offered top notch support. Would highly recommend🤗

Very slow to connect to the internet if it even does at times!!! Make a patch, about to jump ship!!!, spoke to several technicians and uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times!!!

Absolutely terrible!!!! Been in contact with you guys since the 25th of April, and the only thing I’ve been told is to uninstall and reinstall by multiple technicians, who fail to read all the threads in these emails, would see I’ve done this numerous times!!!, what now???

I’ve only had AVG for two days, and it’s constantly keeping me iPad safe. Like I don’t even need to scan my device to know it’s safe. Wonderful, just wonderful.

I watched anime on an unknown website last night, and I have been afraid I got a virus since my battery was going down kinda fast and took ages to charge. Right when I got AVG , scanned my phone, and turned on the vpn everything went normal. I hope it fixes it!

Interested in this app? Read their privacy policy. DO NOT get their VPN. and stay away from their software. They also have software which they designed for children and explicitly state “WE WILL ONLY GATHER PERSONAL DATA ON CHILDREN UNDER 13 years OLD.” Czech Republic that work with the Russian Federation, you claim to be under the EUA agreement. Doubtful. You sell data, and expose millions of Americans personal information, and worse than that, your wording makes me wonder about the children data policy.

I actually had a hard time finding an app that isn’t over the top and not expensive until I found this app! Thanks for being affordable for me and free in a way!!

Well this is not much of an review I only had it for a couple of days, good and easy downloading and seems to be working. I do like Looking at it and seeing everything is ok!

I have been using it since last month and it’s free and it doesn’t give any kind of disturbance.

I have been using this app for many years. I have nothing negative to say. The few issues I have had was taken care of quickly. 😀

this app is a great virus protecter. I’m not having any type of problems or no issues. Everyone needs AVG.

The system Appears to Protecting very well. Do you upgrade to pro for me is a little expensive. I’m 80 years old retired on a fixed income..Thank you

this app mobile security is light weight but needs more features to be useful ....

It’s Not worth the five dollar monthly subscription!

Blocks me from App Store when on, now I’m trying to figure out how to uninstall and get my money back

I've already been billed for 5.40. I thought we get a 7 day trial. What is going on here? So I need to contact the Better Business Bureau?

After i paid for AVG, it ran scans and told me, my wifi was full of viruses. It ran for about a min and said everything was safe and working properly again. But the next day.... i wasnt able to use the internet my Apple stuff didnt open and said i had a session open somewhere else and i needed to close the only one i just tried to open then it locked up my phone till i closed AVG . It messed with my cell provider and even removed some one from my cell phone account and hide them from being able to be found on the phone and from my cell provider. My cell provider couldn’t see or do anything to help me. And every time i turned off my VPN ( this is were AVG is at ) it turned itself back on as fast as I clicked off it turned back on. I literally had to fight it and as that is going on, i had to click the delete VPN and hope i got it before AVG turned itself back on. I finally got one phone deleted and i restarted the phone and it was working good and my gf was back in my list of users. And my cell provider was able to see my phone and looked to make sure everything else was good. Then i needed to do the same thing with my 3 other phones. DO NOT GET AVG. ITS A SCAM AND A HORRIBLE THING TO BE PUT THROUGH. Couldn’t make calls or anything. I use to trust this company ( AVG ) for my computers for about 10 years. So i though sweet a trustworthy app. I WAS SOOO WRONG. I DONT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. If you do try it. Make sure you have a friend or family member ( someone not on your cell plan ) so you can use their phone to get help if you need it. Its been a few days since i wrote the top part of this review, but now my emails that AVG wanted so it could check for password leaks.... are getting a ton of spam now. I hardly got anything till after i put my emails on AVG. Now i need to get new emails thanks to this one sharing/selling them to many other sites/places. I think the Apple should rethink letting AVG be in their store.
