Since the latest update in Nov. 2020, keeping a camera stream on for 5 minutes shows a notification saying “You have viewed the live video for 5 minutes without any operation. Continue the viewing?” We used this as a baby monitor and now it’s useless since the stream cuts off after 5 minutes (requiring a click/touch). Why not include an option to disable this feature for those of us want to use our devices as a monitoring tool?

TPLinkTapo is great I love it, but I think the only thing it lacks is a personalized or costume cruise, I like that the camera has the feature to cruise either vertically or horizontally, but my the place where I put my camera has some blind spots and when I put it on cruise mode it remains a very long time focusing on that blind area. So it would be ideal if you could mark the point form where it might cruise.

I love the simplicity of TP Link products and the UI is amazing. I just wish TPLinkTapo worked in Landscape Mode since I set it up for my mom and she always uses her iPad with her keyboard. It’s the only app she has that doesn’t work in landscape and it’s kind of a turn off having to use it in portrait only. Please TP Link app Landscape mode!

Great software and hardware. Needed to setup home monitoring system for an elderly person at risk of falls. Did not want to pay a subscription fee. Tapo was exactly what I needed.
Camera and TV smart plug setup was easy. Need a WiFi to setup and run. Monitoring records motion and stores data locally.

The cameras were working stably until the last update a week ago, now they lost a lot of stabilization and the cameras barely connect online, It doesn't even point out in the top right that they are online in red letters like before.

I’m using TPLinkTapo for my Tapo IP camera and smart plugs. Clean UI and menus are easy to use but, seems to be reliable in general but TPLinkTapo needs major improvements. Leave aside Siri Shortcuts support for voice commands, app doesn’t even have a widget for simple ON/OFF toggling. Please bring more features.

One word "Useless". I have a continual ongoing problem with the Tapo Care app showing a message: "The network is unstable. Please try again later". I note this has been ongoing since at least 2021. As a security camera, it shouldn't be having this issue. My "BLINK" outside security camera has worked flawlessly since 2017, with no issue at all in obtaining previous video footage. The Tapo camera is OK, but the Tapo Care app & Tapo server is a major issue. 1 out of 5 star rating and definitely a 'NOT RECOMMENDED' purchase. I will be contacting WHICH Consumers' Rights Organisation about this issue.

The 'Playback' feature in the app is slow and intermittent and can take over an hour just to playback 10 minutes of footage and continually errors out with the message "The network is unusable". This makes Tapo cameras and app useless. I note this has been a continual an ongoing issue since 2021 and has yet to be seriously addressed and fixed. It is obvious that the Tapo network is poor, slow and under resourced. As a comparison, my 'Blink' cameras and app have worked flawlessly for the last 5 years with no hardware, software or network issues whatsoever.
