Since the latest update in Nov. 2020, keeping a camera stream on for 5 minutes shows a notification saying “You have viewed the live video for 5 minutes without any operation. I’m using TPLinkTapo for my Tapo IP camera and smart plugs. Clean UI and menus are easy to use but, seems to be reliable in general but TPLinkTapo needs major improvements. Goes back to low stream quality each time I open TPLinkTapo and then I need to switch to High quality. Should be fixed.

The cameras were working stably until the last update a week ago, now they lost a lot of stabilization and the cameras barely connect online, It doesn't even point out in the top right that they are online in red letters like before.

TPLinkTapo is great I love it, but I think the only thing it lacks is a personalized or costume cruise, I like that the camera has the feature to cruise either vertically or horizontally, but my the place where I put my camera has some blind spots and when I put it on cruise mode it remains a very... Just using it as a simple timer to turn things on and off and it works great.

Works surprisingly easy right out of the box and have recommended them to friends and clients.

I am very happy with my purchase. I have bought 3 of this camera and I am able to see all angles of my house in the safety of my house and the price is reasonable. I am actually thinking of buying a fourth camera.

Great software and hardware. Needed to setup home monitoring system for an elderly person at risk of falls. Did not want to pay a subscription fee. Tapo was exactly what I needed.

A great product that is so easy to install on my phone as well as my Alexa. It feels like a luxury that’s affordable and it feels high tech without being difficult to use.

This is my first time using a security camera app and let me tell you TPLinkTapo is so easy to set up and use a highly recommended for beginners for people who are not too computer savvy it’s the way to go I give it five thumbs up

relatively cheap, and TPLinkTapo is very user friendly. makes turning my crock pot on and off way easier. i plan on buying more.

One word "Useless". I have a continual ongoing problem with the Tapo Care app showing a message: "The network is unstable. Please try again later". I note this has been ongoing since at least 2021. As a security camera, it shouldn't be having this issue. My "BLINK" outside security camera has worked... Show more flawlessly since 2017, with no issue at all in obtaining previous video footage. The Tapo camera is OK, but the Tapo Care app & Tapo server is a major issue. 1 out of 5 star rating and definitely a 'NOT RECOMMENDED' purchase. I will be contacting WHICH Consumers' Rights Organisation about this issue.

The 'Playback' feature in the app is slow and intermittent and can take over an hour just to playback 10 minutes of footage and continually errors out with the message "The network is unusable". This makes Tapo cameras and app useless. I note this has been a continual an ongoing issue since 2021 and... Show more has yet to be seriously addressed and fixed. It is obvious that the Tapo network is poor, slow and under resourced. As a comparison, my 'Blink' cameras and app have worked flawlessly for the last 5 years with no hardware, software or network issues whatsoever.
