1 year agoApp will not load. Stuck on yellow screen. Been like this for at least 12 hours. Frustrating part is not being able to get help. No phone numbers to talk to person. Comments left by others with problems have no responses. Don’t want to continue if it is going to be glitchy or unable to get help.

I was thrilled with the progress I was making until about two weeks ago, when the app started slowing down, making it almost unusable, as the lag between searching for a food and having the portion selection pop up was often 5-8 seconds or more, making it confusing and frustrating to use, and often would not properly log food at all. I reported via the in app chat and was instructed to update my iOS to 15. Well I did that and now I cannot save any meals. I have restarted my phone multiple times and deleted and reinstalled the app. It just keeps getting worse. I suspect the makers of this app are optimizing for newer phones, which would have been nice to know before committing myself to a several hundred dollar payment on something I wouldn’t be able to use long enough to get real results.

Things are pretty bad when I have to resort to writing a negative review. I decided to do so because I am extremely frustrated with attempts to log daily food a my own meals in the app. Calling the app glitchy is a kindness. I checked recent reviews before writing this and numerous people are having the same exact issues that I am experiencing. What makes this so upsetting is that on every single negative review there are no comments or updates from customer support responding to the issues. When I called tech support they told me all I a could do was uninstall the app then reinstall it. I mentioned that I haven’t done that because I don’t want to lose my data (previously logged meals as well as the many personal meals I created). The tech’s response was, “Oh that’s not an issue, you won’t lose anything.”. Lies. Apple tells you upfront that they will delete your data when you delete an app. I’m frustrated. I’m paying $60 a month for this service and it barely works. The Zoe program itself is fantastic! The knowledge I’ve gained has been invaluable and has changed my life as well as my relationship with food. Sadly this app which is supposed to be a lifeline and the ground work for adherence to this lifestyle is poorly executed on its best day and more often than not nonfunctional. Zoe support team, you can do better!

Right now, the app is lagging to the point of being unusable. Takes 60s after tapping on a food item to get the serving size menu, if it comes up at all. Hope this is fixed soon. Before this issue - the experiments and tests were really educational. You have to admire how they've distilled a bunch of nutrition data into an "easy" course. It's really revolutionary for me. However, they're only 80% there, with lots of room for refinement. The advice is sometimes contradictory, the lessons occasionally too technical or peppered with questions that aren't always thought through. You can't browse by grocery store (ex. I'm in Trader Joe's what snacks should I buy?). They seem to expect that you'll take hours every week for cooking and shopping which is unrealistic for many of us. No way to easily find 5min low prep meals to squeeze between meetings. The biggest oversight is that they never address the emotional side of food/eating. They don't acknowledge if you're frustrated with your weight still going up or feel hopelessly discouraged and not sure what to eat. There's no way to tell them 'i'd like to challenge myself today' or 'i need to take it easy'. Long review, but I'd really love to see them keep at it and make this great!
