this app is such an expensive machine, and this Cookidoo app is so disappointing as its only integrated cookbook. Some issues that need addressed: 1) Platform needs an internal translator built-in so that, say, USA customers can choose recipes from other countries and actually be able to read them and cook them. Recipes in English are only 7,800, whereas recipes across entire platform are 60,000+. I want the ability to choose from all of them! 2) Should have the ability to adjust serving size to 2, 4, 6, 8 and all of the ingredient amounts automatically adjust. 3) App should have a way to save filter preferences and not reset every time Thermomix is closed. 4) Recipe quality needs improved. Seems heavily geared toward sweets. I would love to see more healthy, whole-food recipes that are packed with flavor. Healthy food doesn’t have to be just plain, steamed and bland. 5) Recipe variation needs improved. Searched United States for “Steel Cut Oats”. Nothing. I would love to see twenty different steel cut variations to choose from. “Grouper”. Nothing. I want Cookidoo to work as a true online cookbook-quality compilation, but it is lacking SO MUCH. These things are just leaving me very disappointed.

App is generally ok, but there are fundamental issues that could be very easily solved and yet are still an issue like:
- there are many recipes that are in foreign language and not doable if you don’t speak the foreign language. Why isn’t there a translation feature that allows you to have access to these? When someone demos a this app and says there are over 60k+ recipes available, this is only true if you speak all foreign languages...
- also, if you happen to actually speak a different language, by default, the search only shows you recipes in you own country, and if you want to go and explore the other countries, you need to constantly go to the filters to select the other countries to include them. There should be a setting allowing you to set these by default so that all search actually include whatever you want as « base setting » to include whatever country or language you desire as default settings

Many of the recipes (especially the Australian and French ones) are pretty good. The US recipes are pretty mediocre, but thankfully that’s not a problem as you can use recipes created for users in other countries.

The problem with Thermomix is that it doesn’t allow the user to add notes to the recipes. Adding notes would help the user keep track of how they modified and personalized the recipes.

It also does not allow users to add recipes. It would be so useful if this app users could add their favorite to the this app database.

If you’re looking at this review you already get how amazing the this app is, so I won’t bore you extolling it’s virtues. Before I had the tm6/Cookidoo platform I considered myself to be a pretty accomplished cook, I’m also, well, cheap; so paying more for Thermomix after springing the cash for the (fabulous) machine made me grimace a little. Boy am I glad I got over that! Literally Thermomix allows me to try dishes from all over the planet (especially big deal with zero travel for over a year) experiment with confidence that I won’t be wasting ingredients, and do things I never even considered before- making my own organic evaporated milk, so many spice mixes, I’ve not chopped an onion in forever (yay!) even a quasi healthy versions of spam and velveeta!?! Because even (nasty-ish) comfort food has a place in life!
Thermomix itself has had a couple small glitches, which actually got fixed - like the fact that you’re not tied to a geographic area unless you choose that option anymore , I just select “English” and let myself browse.
The small improvements I’m hoping for are more classic American/southwest style recipes and ‘comfort food’, especially Mexican.. and a bunch more gluten free stuff. I🧡U TM6.

Cookidoo is amazing. Almost every recipe is good. It could be greatly improved if:
1. One could read the reviews in Thermomix and not just the stars. There are numerous Facebook groups and apps that provide feedback but it would be handy to know how other cooks found lacking before starting to cook.
2. It could store personal notes for each recipe.
3. It told you how many times you could multiply the recipe and still make it work without spilling! A simple notation such as X4 would do wonders.
4. Again, it took advantage of all the cooks everywhere testing Thermomix . Some recipes have mixed up steps. Take advantage of all the free beta-testers and debug!

I love my this app TM5 and I’ve been using it nearly every day since I got it a year ago. I’ve only recently started cooking with the Cookidoo app and I love trying out all these new recipes. It helps that I’m bilingual, so I have access to over 15,000 recipes.

I only have one small issue. It’d be great to be able to leave notes with recipes that I’ve already cooked. I like making adjustments and swapping out or adding new ingredients. But since I can’t add any notes, I never remember the changes I made. Maybe this is a feature, Vorwerk could look into. Hence the 4 stars.

I like Thermomix a lot - however there is one topic which can be annoying:
If you like to search for recipes from different countries - you always have to actively select them:
Your home country is always preselected. I would like to add two or three more countries in the general filter to search for recipes.
Once you close Thermomix and open it again - it is set by default to only one country.
Hope there is a fix for this inconvenience soon !

I like how user friendly and easy to follow the recipes are. However, i have yet to figure out if there is a way to translate the recipes from other countries. You have access to 10s of thousands of recipes from around the world but they are written in their native languages. Also, when i search it never seems to hold my filters and i have to keep putting them in. It would be nice to be able to set preferred filters in My Account so i didn’t have to set it every time.

Only issue is that you cannot edit any recipe if you’d like a small modification. It also does not allow to add your own recipes or create a new one. Otherwise great if you find what you want. Plenty of excellent recipes are out there. Hope they add the editing feature one day.

In previous versions we have the possibility to incorporate “note” for a recipes. This option was eliminated sometime ago.
I used to use this possibility when I wish to change quantities or ingredient to adapt the original Cookidoo’s recipe to my family’ taste.
Please, incorporate the “note” option. Thank you.

I love my this app and Thermomix is really great to discover new recipes. It would be awesome if the filters that you set could be saved and be more permanent, so that you do not have to set them every time.
Management of saved recipes, collection etc is extremely easy to use and very helpful.

I am brand new to using my recently purchased this app. This product/appliance is the future for cooking. The precision and simplicity not to mention speed ranks this as the best. Thermomix does not link with the appliance but it does help me in getting the items I need for the recipes I will be trying out. So far all recipes have surpassed my expectations.

Thermomix does everything (shows recipes and cookbooks, saves your favorites, lets you rates dishes, etc), but you cannot add notes to recipes you’ve saved. When I see a soup with one potato and decide to use a couple of zucchinis instead, I have to remember that detail for the next time I make it, instead of making a note of it in the saved recipe.

I like the wealth of recipes on this platform but country filters should be improved I.e. easier to set or persistent in search results after selection). Also improve fuzzy search I.e. if you look for sautée carrots, it should show also sautéing carrots. Finally, there should be a way to provide feedback within Thermomix .

Thermomix is so amazing!!! Things that are really hard to cook are so easy on this. I mean I never cooked before I got this machine but now that I have it I cook every day! I mean I was making pizza and I didn’t even have to buy The dough! I made it and the sauce. Me and my family used to buy take out all the time now we never get it because I can just make it. And this machine does it all for you. ( this is from a 9 year old )

Discovering new recipes is exciting, however having a default mode would be very helpful. For example, every time I look for a recipe, I have to choose a language o country btw I always choose the same countries who speak the same language as I do. Just a hassle.
Also having a section to add notes, once I add them to my recipes would be great. Love the recipes but usually just add my own touch to them.

You have access to all the worldwide recipes from Cookidoo (if you paid the subscription).
One time you understand how to search (by recipe, by ingredients, by collection, by countries or languages), it is easy to find some inspiration. After, you can add to meal plan, shopping ... and with Thermomix, you always has everything with you. It is synchronized automatically with their website. You can find online the recipe, add to your notebook and get it when you are shopping.
I love it and recommended if you like to cook with your this app.

Wonderful resource for staple recipes and a world of new ideas and inspirations. I have cooked and baked delicious dishes that I would never have attempted without the this app. The dough setting produces perfect yeast, sourdough bread, Choux , cake, cookie,...any dough without effort. The sugar stages makes the most delicious caramels, and pre-clean makes clean up a breeze! Love the shopping list feature, too! One ask I have: I would like to be able to save the search filters, and not have them reset all the time.

I know it’s pricey but I assure you it’s worth every penny! I love how I can do it all using one appliance only! It makes everything effortless and fun for me and my kids, since they love using it to make cookies, smoothies, and cake!

The best part is Thermomix, with tons of recipes so no more googling and saving and failing recipes! The add to cart option makes it even better to shop for ingredients you don’t have!

Thermomix is extremely useful for planning, shopping, organizing and making recipes on TM6.
It also allows me to decide whether I can do a recipe with the ingredients, skill level and time (or thyme) that I have.
It’s a learning tool in and of itself. It’s truly a global cooking class as you can see recipes intended for other markets. Just from looking at the proportion of ingredients one can decipher a TM “palate.”
I imagine the TM team will be releasing further iterations and can’t wait to see future incarnations where they apply machine learning based on user interactions.
