Really Helpful App

I definitely like Lexus. It quickly reminds me if I’ve left the car unlocked and allows me to lock it directly from Lexus . I like knowing the air pressure in the tires from Lexus . I love the Drive Pulse that lets me know how my driving is—BUT the latest update has been a disappointment here. I do not like the changes made in this section. I cannot tell by the map where my “mistake” occurred as I could before the update. In fact, I don’t like any of the changes that were made in the Drive Pulse section of Lexus . It was so much more helpful and useful before. It would be really nice if you would change that part back. Otherwise I love it!

Password

The past week I had to enter my info and password to get into Lexus every morning. Very annoying. Why doesn’t it just save and open Lexus regularly like a normal app? With my other car (Honda) I can just plug my phone for CarPlay. With this app I can’t. I have to have a Wi-Fi connection. And in some areas my phone won’t connect to the this app. Annoying

Update

Why am I forced to update each version? No other app does that in my iPhone. Super annoying

A truly unimpressive app; 2021 update: simply awful

2021: I traded my L-certified for a new car and Lexus was included. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as described most of the time and just refuses access frequently. You’d expect better from this app. 2020: I bought a 2019 L-Certified car at a this app dealership. this app (Enform services) sent me an email with a non-functioning link, so I called the dealer and they told me to just download Lexus. I did and I still haven’t figured out what the big deal is. Instead of showing you up front some info you might want about the car status or letting you remotely interact with the car (you pay extra for actual interaction) the first thing it shows you every time you open Lexus is what you DON’T have and need to pay additional money for. So, if you wander around in Lexus until you find vehicle status and can see your car is unlocked, there’s nothing you can do about it until you pay for Remote Services. Lexus has no functional menu or dashboard. Good thing at least Lexus is free, because it is without any practical use or value. It might be if you pay $80 plus per service per year to get the full “suite” and all the accoutrements, but you shouldn’t have to. Lexus is little more than an advertisement for more services.

By

WTH

Unbelievable, Lexus and the previous Enform have been awful from day one. Now it seems my 2015 RX is not supported so I can’t use any of the apps. Calling customer support but not hopeful of any resolution

Overpriced, underwhelming

For $85 a year after taxes Lexus should do it more then regular key fobs. I know what you’re saying, regular key fobs can’t schedule appointments for service etc. but I don’t need my $85 app to schedule my appointments when I have Lexus on my $1100 phone that also can schedule service appointments. Lexus on more than one occasion has told me that it was unable to process my request while trying to start my vehicle only to go outside and find my car was running at other times it didn’t process my request I never started the car. For $85 I should be able to use Lexus to roll down and up my windows as well as open and close my sunroof some key fobs do that already for free. So if we’re going to charge a premium price because it’s a luxury brand then give your customers something to smile about. I would like to be able to say yeah cost me $85 a year but I can do all this with my app. hopefully someone will read this and say you know this customer has a point instead of reading it and saying yeah right good luck with that. Well I know this looks long but it’s a quick read and I hope someone reads it. I’m two years in and it’s a waste of money. thank you

Good...when it works!

I’ve had very little time to actually use Lexus during the first year of my lease. First but of time it worked when I tried to use it ,then stopped working and with the warmer weather, I didn’t bother with it. I kept getting a “could not complete request message”. I Finally decided to address the issue with this app this fall and it required an appointment with the tech specialist one afternoon, a next day return to the dealership to put my car in service to troubleshoot the issue. It took SIX days to fix and only thing the advisor told me was “it works fine, you need to make sure you’re subscription isn’t expired”. It’s good through February. So yes Lexus worked as advertised when returned my car came out of service -this was about a month ago. Currently, It hasn’t worked for the last 2 days. Unbelievable. This is a pointless unreliable app for a function that should be installed via the key fob like most luxury and standard vehicles. And to think they will charge you a yearly fee for this quality of technology! No thanks!

Awful #4

After continued annoyance with Lexus that never works right to remote start my this app—that I’ve also now realized I will eventually be expected to pay for—I plan to take a couple of extra minutes each day that Lexus is a challenge to share the experience. This really should be reviews 4-7. So, two attempts last week at remote start while out to dinner with the goal of getting in a warm car when departing restaurant. Both attempts a fail. Last night Lexus “locked” while stating sending request. Little did I know to expect that upon opening this morning it was still spinning. Again, I wrote this review in the same amount of time I wasted in getting Lexus to work. This morning it did finally work after killing Lexus and going back through the whole process again. Don’t even get me started on the inability for app to recognize Face ID on iPhone. It’s a big disclaimer every time I open app because it randomly loses log in info. Of note, I disabled Face ID on app because of the error hoping I could get the message to stop appearing everyday—fail.

Buyers beware! Remote start is slow, cumbersome and frustrating. Completely unreliable app. This is coming from an 8 year this app owner with this being this app #2.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - App ALWAYS FAILS

If I could give zero or negative stars I would. Lexus fails EVERY-TIME! When you call for support, the rep talks over you and recommends you delete Lexus and reinstall an infinity number of times and tells you that is the only solution. Then tells you the issue is with the car and to take the car to the dealership. I’ve been told Lexus won’t work if it’s in a garage, and it won’t work if you are too close. It probably only works when Mercury is in retrograde. At 14$ a month I should get more than an app that shows me how many miles I’ve driven. This has happened since I first got Lexus . I’ve taken it to the dealership and they said the car’s firmware is updated and that the problem is with Lexus .
Lexus has cost me literally 168$ each year plus each phone call to customer service is over an hour of wasted time, and time to take car to dealership and have them tell me nothing is wrong with the car, all wasted time, money and effort. My time, money would have been better spent buying scratch off lottery tickets from the gas station.

Very Slow Response

Lexus does work but there needs to be a notation telling users that only one set of credentials like email address and phone can be registered to a VIN. This would facilitate setup for multiple drivers and cellphones.

We can lock/unlock and start the car remotely but the status updates can take up to two minutes. I unlocked the car remotely and tried to start it remotely - which is not allowed by Lexus . So I locked the car remotely and watched the mirrors on our NX fold in a few seconds, but I had to sit on my hands for two minutes waiting for “unlocked” to disappear from the status screen before the “Start” instruction timed out and offered to lock the car for me - when it was already locked. Multiple active processes need to better communicate.

Lexus is sluggish at best which marginalizes the utility of having the remote app to begin with. Please consider significantly increasing responsiveness when next updating the remote app - with thanks in advance for doing so.

Where are vehicle alerts!??

This new app is completely useless and deserves 0 stars. The most important functionality - vehicle alerts - is now missing. Whoever decided to remove this key feature is a short sighted imbecile. UI looks like a website designed by amateurs and the crippled, bland home screen displays no useful information. I am in disbelief that this garbage got approved and that this app moved from a multi-featured, modern looking application to this useless pile of ****. Absolutely shocking. What exactly am I paying for now? Ability to turn on my car for 10 minutes (worst remote start capabilities in the car industry), maintenance reminders and a way to schedule appointments with my dealer? Wow, how wonderful for an $85K car. Instead of trying to bring more business to your dealers, BRING BACK VEHICLE ALERTS. The most important feature of the old app was being notified in case windows/doors were left open or the car was left unlocked. What is the point of it now? Your developers should consider moving to fast food industry where they would shine flipping burgers. Shame on this app for releasing this embarrassing abomination.

By

Kind of only OK

I gave this 2 stars because it fulfills the most basic function of starting/stopping and locking/unlocking my car. It’s also helpful that it reflects the fuel level. However, anything beyond those things are extremely lackluster and honestly quite disappointing. Yes, I do receive notifications that something has “triggered an alert”, but I must ask time and time again: what has “triggered” the alert, this app? I’ve tried to tap the notification in hopes of Lexus telling me what exactly it is, I’ve also tried to go into the alerts screen within Lexus . It doesn’t say whether it was an unlocked door, or an open window, etc. I must physically go to my vehicle to find out what exactly triggered anything.
I have never used the old app, only this version, but I wish this “new, updated” one offered more options and customization. It seems like they took away so many features leaving only the most basic functions that there’s not really a point to have such an app.

By

Great but…

Lexus is awesome. I just wish it had options where you can open and shut the windows, and as well as open the trunk, especially on hot summer days. I wish it had more features based on how much we pay for this. Although it has basic features, but it’s 2022! There should be a way for that right? Audi and Mercedes’ cars from 2009 opens and closes their windows via remote. Hopefully the devs could do something about this! Over all Lexus is very easy and simple to use and very friendly to new eyes. Setting up maintenance is one call away!

Tracking how you drive is sorta biased and inaccurate, but it simply tracks your foot prints, where you go and how you drive. Which is awesome if you’re lending your car to someone else.

Overall an awesome app to have. Please add basic functions for the car!

Absolute Mess

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience with my 2019 this app NX, apart from the terribly integrated this app Inform software.
The software offers great features WHEN it works which is approximately 20% of the time in my experience. For example, I live in Colorado and love the remote start feature during the cold winter months. However I frequently have to attempt to start the car 3-4 times before it will actually go through. And sometimes it actually goes through, and says that it didn’t!
But with the last update was the last straw for me. After downloading the update I was required to re-verify my vin number, which I did. Lexus loads the vin, correctly identifies my car, and then upon clicking save says errors that the information provided “does not match the records on file”, and tells me to CALL this app or to visit the dealership.

As a software engineer myself, these kinds of bugs are absolutely unacceptable and will be the reason I choose a different make of vehicle with better software integration on my next purchase.

TAKES ME BACK TO SIGN ON PAGE!!

Edit on 5/28: I finally got into Lexus and my vin number is correct. This was last Thursday morning. Now I can enjoy all the features of my new this app. Also, I got a call from this app following up on my app issue and wanted to be sure all was good. Thank you.

Pleeeease fix this problem with Lexus. I registered with the dealership last Saturday (4days ago) and app still does not work. I called this app customer service and after bounced around to a few staff (very nice people by the way) someone said Lexus is down and it’s a known issue. I can’t even sign-on through google or explorer browser. I actually received a Welcome to this app email but with in the incorrect VIN number. Not what I expected from this app and my first experience. Once this issue is fixed, will we receive emails?

Trouble logging in

Since Lexus was updated a bit over a week ago I could not log in using WiFi.
The only way to log in an actually use Lexus is to disable WiFi temporarily and log in using cellular data. Once logged in I can switch WiFi back on.
The idiot developers, and their ill-trained puppets at this app Guest Experience believe that this is the way it’s supposed to work. Despite the fact that it worked perfectly till the update.
Shameful.

Hi
Just to follow up on this case:
I called the this app guest experience number as suggested.
The fella that answered the phone was, as expected, unable to help.
He went ahead to declare that Lexus is designed to work with cellular data only and not via WiFi. Something that does not make sense, especially given the fact that it worked perfectly until it was update. It would seem absolutely ludicrous to take away a feature like that. If anything any update would seek to add that feature.
Anyway, a short while later, after playing with it, I made a minor modification to my network settings, and as if by magic it is now working!
True, my network needed some tweaking. But this guy didn’t offer to have check that.
Instead, this arrogant, lazy, obnoxious, idiot impersonating a tech support person brazenly lied!
He made up the entire thing about Lexus not being WiFi capable.
this app should be totally ashamed.
And this fake tech should be immediately dismissed and go back into quarantine permanently.
Utterly disgusting!

Set up was awful

Setting up Lexus was horrible. At first, they tell you to press the SOS button, which I did and spoke to someone who told me the next time I get in the car to press the SOS then cancel and drive 15 minutes. Well I did that. Then I get a voicemail on my phone saying they are dispatching the police. I called them back and said there’s no emergency and that I’m just setting up my app. The representative said don’t worry about it. We won’t dispatch anyone. I get home 30 minutes later. Then the police comes to my house asking about the emergency. I said I don’t have an emergency and was just setting up Lexus and called this app to ensure they don’t dispatch anyone. The police asked for my ID and filed a report. I was so annoyed with this app and this stupid app. It’s my first time driving a this app and so far the experience has not been good. The dealer should of help set up Lexus , but they couldn’t wait to sell the car and didn’t explain anything. The instructions are awful, and customer representatives are clueless and give wrong information. Not happy with this app so far.

What happened to vehicle status?

I totally agree with the previous reviewer: vehicle status and notifications are gone for good. Yes, you can still start your car or lock/unlock the doors, however, you are not being warned if you forgot to lock your car. The old app was very simple but extremely useful and functional. This new one is all about scheduling maintenance which I couldn’t care less about. I can always pick up the phone and call my dealership for that, whereas, unlocked doors may result in vandalism or theft. Also, I disagree that it has a clean look; it’s busy with all kind of useless info and looks like a web page rather than a modern looking. A lot of scrolling for nothing. I think the purpose of Lexus is to warn you about regular maintenance which I do anyway. At least bring back the vehicle status and notifications and create separate tabs for other junk that you want to sell us. I may not continue my subscription next year if this is what I get for 80 bucks. I’m a graphic designer by the way, and, by no means I think Lexus meets today’s standards of clean looking, minimalistic design, let alone functionality and usefulness.

Getting better.

I have to change my rating. I wasn’t a fan of the new app. Once downloaded my remote capabilities ceased to exist. I could not communicate with the vehicle. It has been at the dealer for a week trying to fix the problems. The vehicle status only reports from the last time it worked back in August. Please return to the old format. In addition I appreciated that I had to enter a passcode to use the remote features. Thank you for working with the service team to resolve the issues with my remote starter. Picked up my car yesterday and I have function again. Looking forward to the upcoming updates. Hopefully you can fix the alert notifications to let us know the issue, ease of logging on, and reliability of commands, and the tracking, I don’t want data gathered on my driving to be a contingency of my using Lexus . I would like a choice. Thanks again.

Great easy to use interface, but does not work

When I first bought my car at the beginning of this year, Lexus worked well. Fuel and distance data were always accurate, and communicating with my car took an acceptably long amount of time (acceptably long because with technology today, it definitely should be shorter, but it wasn’t overbearingly slow). Now, Lexus does not communicate with the car, and the fuel and distance data is stuck on half a tank and 300mi. The only thing that somewhat works is the previous trip data, which takes days to update. The odometer, fuel remaining, distance to empty remaining, and previously parked location do not work, along with the engine start and lock/unlock, rendering Lexus practically useless, unless you want to remember where you drove several days earlier. Fix the communication issues, both with data and commands, and Lexus would work as intended and be a great product. However, for now, I am thoroughly disappointed.

Disappointed

Disappointed. App is like a webpage trying to be an app. Lost functionality from old app. Harder to navigate. Color of app is basically all white and very boring and hard on the eyes. Biggest complaint is it’s simply missing functionality or harder to find info. There’s a picture of gas gauge and odometer in the example photos before downloading Lexus , but isn’t even present once downloaded. My car picture doesn’t show up either. The old app was an app. Plain and simple. This is trying to be too much. Good luck with this as I’m sure it was well intentioned, with good people working on the project, but the benchmark was missed is my eyes. I’ll keep using the old app until such time I’m forced to use the new one. Good luck guys and gals. I wouldn’t be as shocked if Lexus was General Motors in 2010 when this type of stuff was being developed for the first time in cars. But this is almost 2020. I wish you the best and hope you gather a focus group or gather more feedback to create an app worthy of the this app logo and brand.

New App ok but not better than Old App

I just renewed my subscription based on the old app (still installed) and downloaded the new one based on the “no longer supported” message. I agree with the other comments about the distance to empty being gone, which I found very very useful, and the countdown to engine stop. I also agree that while the UI is cleaner, it is boring. And what I don’t need is Lexus scoring my driving! Will likely hide/remove that card. That space could have been used for the vehicle status rather than having to tap on the vehicle image to see it. I rearranged the remaining cards but honestly could hide those too. I’m not convinced this new app is better than the old one. I rated it a 3 because it does work. I may not renew my subscription next year if Lexus isn’t updated to my satisfaction. I know, can’t please everyone but don’t remove useful features.

By

Not a fan

Signed up for this“service” to be able to start my car remotely. It’s been a struggle. It was over a week before they finally activated this paid monthly service. And that was only after two calls to their assistance line and a trip to the dealer to get it resolved. They said I needed this service to be able to use my key fob to start the car—- what? I need a subscription to use my key fob direly with the car. Wow. Just wow. This is something most car manufactures do for free now days.
Back to Lexus—I keep trying to use it to start my car In This cold climate. And it keeps coming back with a failure. Restarted app. Restarted phone. No change.
I like that it will show if window open but why can’t it close them? Seems kinda the feature a luxury car would have.
Lexus is not reliable. I noticed there were other this app apps and was going to try them.

Dysfunctional UX

If you can avoid using Lexus I’d recommend you do so until the old app stops functioning. This is a poorly designed UX with essentially less functionality than the old app. You can find most functions if you hunt but it lacks the user friendliness of the old app. And exactly why do I have to “work” to find information? The style is bland and key indicators such as the green or red around the vehicle is simply missing. The bland “web page” style lacks any basic understanding of user design or interface. It’s very much a business app designed to make you struggle. How is the home screen a scroll in an app- that’s just literally ignorance of app design 101. Where are the miles to empty? The big buttons and great indicators? The colors? I’ll manage but Lexus did send my 80 year old mother into a tailspin as it lacks the obvious function of the Enform App. Fingers crossed they invest some developing time into building a real app.

By

Doesn’t work well

I just got new this app and start to use Lexus but it’s totally disappointed me. Firstly, I didn’t understand why this app Enform app not working with my new car as well as why this current app doesn’t have all functions that this app enform had it. Such as controlling windows, doors, etc. I tried to use this app app and it looks like working but not really productive way. For example, I start the engine and when I get in the car it stops itself right away. What’s the point this? Many things not effective with Lexus. Hopefully, the team can fix the issues or at least we can use to this app remote app accordingly.

Switching Vehicles & Vehicle Status

To help with some reviews left here, I’ve decided to give some pointers on features that are actually in Lexus but not currently obvious with the current way of accessing those features

If you have more than one vehicle on your account, they are definitely located within Lexus but it’s hard for most people to figure out how to switch between them. To change to a different vehicle, you will need to select the name of the vehicle at the very top of Lexus which takes you to “My Garage”, then you will need to swipe the image of your vehicle left or right to change between all the vehicles on your account

The vehicle status is actually available within Lexus by tapping the picture of the vehicle at the top of Lexus , however it should be made more obvious this feature exists by highlighting it and giving a tip after opening Lexus a couple times.

Note: This review has been updated to include vehicle switching information

Much Improved From Early Days

When this new app first launched I rated it 3 stars because of the lack of smart watch capability and the fact that the vehicle alerts were not easily accessible like in the old app. Today I’m upping my rating to 5 stars because it appears the developers listened to our requests - they cleaned up Lexus interface and they recently added smart watch capability with my Apple Watch Series 5 (I’m sure it works with other series as well).

Lexus also appears to work smoother and less clunky - changing between screens is much smoother now whereas at initial launch the transition between screens was similar to an old 486 computer with lagging and mixed graphics.

I believe the this app app developers got this latest version right and I feel comfortable deleting the old this app Remote app to run on one single app. Thanks this app, appreciate you listening to all the feedback!

For comparisons, in addition to using with my Apple Watch Series 5, I’m also using an iPhone XS.

BRING BACK THE NOTIFICATIONS

Although the old design was ugly and desperately needed an update, I prefer the old app. This new one looks very nice and modern but it doesn’t have the functionality and practicality of the old one. Apparently I left my window open last night (it was raining by the way) and I didn’t know until I logged on this morning to start the car and saw the little “1” on the car image. There’s no point in Lexus without those notifications because how am I supposed to know there’s something open/unlocked in the car if it doesn’t tell me? Unless I see a notification or need to start my car, I don’t casually check Lexus . Pleaseeeeee fix this!!

P.S. the old app would show how many miles I had left in my gas tank. Why was that removed in the new one???

Dr. Lexus   1 year ago

The Lexus app was already lacking, but the main thing I used it for was its pop-up notifications on my phone and smartwatch. I liked knowing when my moonroof, doors, windows or trunk was left open. Now...the app doesn't even do that! How can such a quality automaker have such a progressively worse app? I won't even get into the other issues, but this should be an easy fix. I will discontinue my subscription and encourage others in my car group to do so as well if this is not fixed fairly soon.
