APP, SUPORT, FUNCTIONALITY, ISSUES

Skullcandy does not have clear instructions for connecting your product it shows that my product is in the window and then it says it’s not connected and it is connected I’m actually leaving this review using the product microphone. Their support page through Skullcandy does not function correctly it connects to a web link that is a blank page mobile page and desktop page both show as blank. volume power and technical buttons should be on opposite sides on the headphones. Button sizes are so similar it’s very easy to make mistakes. Noise cancellation feature does not work well I can hear my TV when it’s at volume number six which is not very loud. I’ve gotten maximum wife of five hours while using them connected to my cell phone. The charging cord is an inch and a half long way too short it makes you think the engineers that designed this did not think about the consumer at all.

The microphone works pretty well that’s about the only compliment I can give these headphones. The functions as stated on the box suit my needs but the product doesn’t deliver them very well! Definitely think twice before purchasing!

200 dollar headphones garbage. Do not buy Skullcandy products

App on iPad does not have a way to connect to this app crusher evo wireless. Only lists other products for connecting when they state on website hat this model uses Skullcandy . The entire design and reason to spend the extra money was the equalizer. But can’t access it. They have no way to access it on pc, which is ridiculous for any company in this day and age. I tried to download Skullcandy on my phone, to see if it was any different, but it won’t let me, because it says it is not compatible with my phone. Only app in the play store that is not. Scummy company charging like they are selling Bose products and it is bottom of the barrel when it comes to product support. Why even try. I hope they go out of business for taking advantage of a disabled person. Will be going on the better business bureau and filing a formal complaint. I always thought the name was all hype and I suspected they sell garbage. Nice headphones, but expensive worthless and inaccessible features.

just a few connectivity issues but it's a good pair of earbuds

The earbuds are pretty nice and comfortable. I like to listen to my music with these, but sometimes it's difficult because the earbuds have huge connection issues. They will turn off the second i turn them on, despite me charging them overnight. I've had to forget the device multiple times and pair it again, just so i could use them for a short amount of time due to their short battery life. I've never had this problem with any other pair of earbuds. In anyway, this means Skullcandy won't work good either. So no music for me most of the time now.
Anyways, I hope this review didn't come off as rude, these are some nice earbuds. hopefully the connection problems can be fixed soon.

Useful, with one annoying feature

I’ve used Skullcandy to update firmware of my wireless earbuds, check battery level, customize sound to my personal hearing profile, turn features on/off, and toggle sound profiles. The best part about Skullcandy is its usefulness. I get a lot done with it, and I don’t have to figure out how to wave my finger over the earbuds to do tasks manually, like change volume or connect to Bluetooth. The worst part about it is the flashing arrows at the bottom when you first open Skullcandy . For a few months, I thought I had to tap on them to make them go away before I could use Skullcandy . Now, I just ignore them. Maybe if Skullcandy was better organized, you wouldn’t need flashing reminders like that.

Its okay….

Well I downloaded Skullcandy as soon as I bought my earbuds because I thought it would prove to be useful. It wasn’t. The only good feature to Skullcandy is that it reminds you what your earbud shortcuts are and thats fine. However, now Skullcandy won’t even open. For three days every time I opened Skullcandy , it would only show the loading screen. I wish they had a setup feature because when you open Skullcandy without your earbuds paired, it just has the plus saying connect. Finally, there are some features that I don’t even know why they are there. Like the equalizer is confusing and hard to understand. Skullcandy is only good for the shortcuts.

This app is useless

I get the feeling that Skullcandy was developed because every other headphone company has a app for their headphones. Skullcandy falls very short. On the rare occasion that my headphones connect to Skullcandy it’s constantly glitchy. My headphone work for every other app on my phone. My Bluetooth shows my headphones are connected. I can listen to music and hear the videos I’m watching. However Skullcandy created to pair with my headphones can never connect to them. I’m sure that if this review gets read by the developers they will assume it’s the users fault their product does not work. Even though every other app works with their headphones. Consumers are tired of hasty crap being released just because companies want to keep up with each others image but fail on the execution. It’s embarrassing your app does not work with your own product.

Intermittent connection

Even after pairing, Skullcandy itself has a lot of trouble "connecting" to the Indy ANC ear buds. The iPhone finds and connects fine - its just Skullcandy . This set has an issue with crackling loud as well. May end up returning. When working, the sound is good. I tried playing music over my stereo to see if it could block it out. Was not able to tell any difference with the noise cancelling enabled. I am hoping I will be able to tell a difference on a plane as that is the reason for the purchase. Hardware seems good quality.

Awesome earbuds, but the touch controls are horrible

I bought Indy Anc earbuds to sleep in, and fell in love with the sound. Unfortunately the earbud touch controls are needlessly complicated and you cannot turn them off. They keep going into solo mode or skipping songs when my pillow touches them. Skullcandy has two cool features, and that’s the ability for the personal sound and the ability to locate them, but other than that Skullcandy is basically useless. Why can we switch modes, pause, or turn off the touch controls. Because Skullcandy cannot do what I need and I can’t sleep in this earbuds with the current software, I’ll sadly have to return this amazing earbuds.

Push active missing on app list of devices

Just bought the push active earbuds. Was very excited to use. Followed all instructions but it would not connect to Skullcandy . Skullcandy did show a picture of the push active earbuds but said not connected. Tapping the + went to a blank screen with the + and tapping that reverted back to the screen with the picture of the push active earbuds… still not connected. I did all the troubleshooting on my own and with this app customer service support. Nothing worked.

On a lark, I put a different non this app Bluetooth device in my ear to see what Skullcandy would do. It listed the name of the Bluetooth device and this time when I hit the +, it provided a list of all the supported this app devices. Push active was not on that list.

Please check that out for yourselves.

Customer support at this app said they have no way of communicating with Skullcandy developers. I found that to be very unfortunate.

So I’m writing this review in the hopes that someone will address this issue

Push Active

Just got an early Christmas gift of the push active earbuds- they are so amazing and Skullcandy is incredible! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The UI is super easy to use and so cool! I am so glad I got skull candy headphones instead of apple! They fit in my ear so well and never fall out when I am running or skiing— unlike my old AirPods. Super recommend this product to anyone looking for activewear earbuds and a useful app!

Will change if fix the bugs

There is a bug where it won’t keep my Bluetooth connection even if it’s an iPhone it still bugs out on phone calls as well can never hear a person talking I want support to send me an email notify that these bugs are fixed. I just got these for Christmas kinda feel bad to tell my family they wasted money on them. So either get ur bug team on it I’ll write better review cause I really like most of the features it comes with!

Good when the app work, otherwise it is a nightmare.

I have deleted and reinstalled Skullcandy about 20 times already. My microphone doesn’t work all the time. For some reason, the voice control stop working on its own, even when the option is still active, so if I want to talk with someone, they are not able to hear me. But, when Skullcandy work, then they hear me perfectly. Also, the voice control doesn’t work a lot of time. I keep saying: hey skull Andy and doesn’t listen to my commands. Very frustrating. I’m thinking about turning it back to the store. 😔

Minimally Functional

Skullcandy does enough - tells you your battery, helps you link your device(s) to Tile, but sometimes falls short.

Promised features such as using Skullcandy for personalized listening tests and switching between EQ modes are unsubstantiated, at least on iOS.

I appreciate the work that has already gone into Skullcandy , but when you purchase something and are told you will get features that you ultimately do not, it stings.

My crusher ego won’t connect nor do you have them on the app

I bought these headphones specifically for this feature and your app don’t even have them on there only ear buds did I miss something or do the eco crushers not connect to Skullcandy or did I do something wrong because I feel ripped off to be completely honest I know there’s no way to get my money back but possibly updating your app to have the eco crushers would make this customer sure happy I understand your a very busy company but I feel this is pot advertising if I can’t connect them to Skullcandy so unfortunately 1 star for me

Not the happiest

My grind fuel earbuds are really nice and Skullcandy has a lot of good stuff in it. But my earbuds keep disconnecting with Skullcandy . And now will not reconnect. I’ve done everything Skullcandy says but still won’t work. So I deleted it and redownloaded it. It worked for a while but it happened again….and again…and again. The earbuds work great but any tips on what to do would be helpful.

It’s okay, does basic tasks but could do more

I like how you can view things like earbuds charge percentage and turn off and on ambient/anc mode. But the one major thing that I really wish these guys added in was an custom EQ function, because the built in EQ modes just don’t work for me. For preference I use Movie, because it boosts the bass a little bit, the built in Music mode makes the highs too “tingy” in my opinion. If they change that I would bump up my review a couple of stars

Push Active doesn’t connect to App

Push Active headphones are great - 5 stars - Skullcandy , however, will see my headphones but shows they aren’t “connected” even though I’m listening to music through my phone so I can’t even use Skullcandy . Support page doesn’t help much. Tried reconnecting multiple times with no luck. Given up on Skullcandy . Headphones are great tho. UPDATE: I updated my phone to iOS 15 and reinstalled Skullcandy . This seems to have fixed above issue for now.

UPDATE 2: still issues connecting device to phone. 1 star

Wow great

I ended up for connecting this product through Skullcandy it works perfectly did an update and restarted everything charged up to 100% did voice call test everything sounds perfect clear and it has a great quality this far can I complain!

Consider Other Brands

The Indy ANC Fuel is really not on par with other products. I only owned the earbuds for a little over a month and the sound started fading in the right bud. It's entirely possible that I got a defective set, but I won't bother replacing it - it's a bad consumer experience and a terrible sign of what's to come. No thanks, I'll just return them. And don't get me started on Skullcandy . I guess it's good for one thing, it has a guide to document all the numerous, weird touch gestures. Soundpeats has its own set of problems, but they are better for the price point.

s6crw not supported. Really?

Honestly this is unbelievably! how as a company you will sell headphones for 100’s of dollars and not have app support? Honestly this headphones are just meh, but for the price at least you expect a app or some setting on your phone to improve the audio. NOT for my headphones model.

Get SONY, APPLE or maybe SAMSUNG instead.

Also headphones just give a lot of Bluetooth problems and audio quality. I won’t recommend this brand to anyone. Thank god this was a gift and I didn’t spend a penny. Otherwise I will “blowing my mind” literally.

By

Needs improvement

Skullcandy is decent and I admire the sound test for the Crusher ANC, it really improves the audio when you do the test correctly but my gripes with Skullcandy is that you aren’t able to control the anc features through Skullcandy & also Skullcandy never displays the correctly battery percentage.. Full battery will show up as 86%

By

Personal sound bug

App update won't let me use the sound profile after I do the hearing test. Can you guys fix the feature please, I'm using Crusher ANC
Edit: I reinstalled Skullcandy on my phone and everything works fine now and got my personal sound back!

By

Update needed

I just bought some headphones and figured I’d download Skullcandy so I could adjust things but it won’t let me past the second page. Pretty irritating, I have been trying different headphones and I’ll probably end up returning these and buying Jaybirds that I tried cause the sound quality was about the same and Skullcandy actually works unlike this one which by the look of the reviews has been neglected.

Pointless App that literally lies in the description

I have Indy evo tx earbuds (don’t even know what the extra tx stands for but ok) and it claims right in Skullcandy description that you can configure eq in app however this is a blatant lie, the only thing you are able to do in app is toggle ambient mode on or off I can’t even register my earbuds because it just crashes whenever I submit the form so right now avoid Skullcandy it’s pointless and a space waster

By

Profile gone

After prompting for an update, I updated Skullcandy as requested. Launched Skullcandy and was prompted to create a profile. What happened to my personal profile that I had already created???? The new profile does not sound the same. What is the deal with that?

By

App Not Working

I just replaced my Crusher ANC Wireless headphones because I dropped them. The last pair I had worked fine with Skullcandy . This new pair is not working with Skullcandy . I keep go around in circles. Skullcandy won’t let me go to the personalized sound test. It just keeps asking me to go to settings and I do but it won’t go any further than that. Can someone please help me?

By

No EQ

Says I should be able to switch between music, movie, and podcast EQ modes. Can’t press on anything in Skullcandy to switch EQ

By

Absolute garbage

If I could rate this zero stars, I would, I’ve tried to use Skullcandy on iPhone, iPad and iPod, it doesn’t go beyond the pairing stage, the headphones are paired, it still prompts for pairing , I have tried pairing, unpairing, uninstalling, resetting the headphones, and, nothing works, fix Skullcandy or get rid of it completely, as it stands it serves zero purpose

By

I can’t get past the pairing

I can’t even get past the “go to settings” button; and also the button covers up the directions to help set things up. If there is anyway to fix this can you help?
My Indy Evo’s are connected to my phone but Skullcandy doesn’t even registers it.

By

New update won’t let me connect

Won’t let me connect my anc crusher what is going on developers response was there was going to be a fix in a few day s it’s been a month and still no update when is there going to be a fix?

By

Solid performance

Audio is crisp and smooth silk when it needs to be. Ou yeah

By

Disappointment

I got Skullcandy and it can’t even do the one thing it’s meant to do, I can’t connect with my anc’s and can’t even get past the connection screen, kinda made me wanna throw my phone across the room...no wonder Skullcandy has two stars

By

Wouldn’t pair

My headphones were connected to my Bluetooth i even played music to test and it just wouldn’t pair I waited for about 15 minutes keeping my headphones close very close to my phone dont download it’s just a waist of time.

By

Just wow

So I paired my headphones to my phone and now they are on the searching for devices thing and it apparently can’t find them because it’s been doing this for a while now can you guys fix this

By

Disappointed

I wish they had an app where you were able to control the sound of all of your skull candy devices, iPhone simply does not have enough customizability settings for sound. The idea is there, but it’s only available for one set of headphones which happens to be some of the most expensive from this brand. I have Hesh 3’s, what’s suppose to be a flagship device from this brand, I wish that I could customize the sound to my liking, the second I touch the iPhone toggles and equalize it, it drowns out something and blows something else out.
