Just worthless

Endlessly loses connection with the hearing aids and requires repairing. But when you try to re-pair then MiracleEar is unable to do so. So you have to go into settings for your phone, delete your hearing aids, repair the hearing aids with your phone, and then try to do the same with MiracleEar . It will occasionally work, but more often than not it won’t. I’m reduced to accessing hearing aid controls through my iPhone, which seems to hang onto the hearing aids much better. But there is noTrouble or base controls that way, and MiracleEar sits on the phone, a baleful reminder that the Miracle Ear engineers must not have tested their work in real life. Every other hearing aid I have owned in recent years, since Bluetooth was a thing has done better, and once I kind afford a new pair I will switch hearing aid brands away from Miracle-Ear, simply because they are app is such a dreadful failure.

Updated app - forced upgrade!

The new app will not pair with my hearing aids now and when it can’t pair MiracleEar crashes. This is all after I needed to use MiracleEar to select a noisy environment preset or may use the 360 setup. I put off using the “new improved” app 18 months ago because of feature changes and what I need to use is no longer available. Tried again at 12 months ago, still lacking in features the older MEControl had. Tonight at dinner in a noisy restaurant with customers I was forced to upgrade with no way out. I needed to change to my preset settings immediately but I now have to download the new app during an important business meeting, try and re-pair but MiracleEar keeps crashing. So I give up. I could not hear what the customers were saying all night because of the background noise. I finally turned them off completely. Now I could hear some of what they were saying. I have iPhone 7 with iOS 14.2 fits the narrative, but guess what doesn’t work! I’m ready to switch!

A big step backwards

I don’t like this new and “improved “ app anywhere near like the old one. Much of the functionality has disappeared and what’s new doesn’t work very well. For example; I just put my hearing aides in for the first time today and started MiracleEar . It said it was gathering data from the device and when finished told me I have had them in for 2.5 hours.

Developer responded telling me that MiracleEar has the same functionality as the old app. Today I went to miracle ear for my annual hearing test so I asked how to get the new app to work like the old app. I was informed that “everyone liked the old app better” and that functionality had certainly been removed.

For example there was a screen whereby you could select one of the many sounds the hearing aides would make and listen to them.
I asked how to get to this on the new app and was told that I couldn’t.

Again the amount of time that it claims I have wearing the device is incorrect. It uses quite an amount of screen real estate for a constantly incorrect value.

It’s a shame that the developer responded the way they did.

A step backward, not forward

Like many other reviews, I was hoping the new app would be a step forward from the ME app, but found just the opposite. Others have already mentioned the TV streamer control is absent in the new app. In addition, the separate tinnitus control is also missing, which I use a lot to regulate the white noise level as needed based on ambient sound levels. Finally, the ability to progressively narrow the microphone field has been replaced my 4 quadrants: front, rear, left and right. This is a huge step backward from the progressive function of the ME app.

Until Miracle Ear adds these features I went back to the ME Control app and will not use this one.

Needs a lot of work

MiracleEar needs a lot of work. My biggest issue is connection. Almost every morning I have to reboot my iPhone 11 so the aids will connect. There is connection conflicts between my aids and my Apple Watch when I try to answer a call on my watch. There are also issues with my Acura’s HandsFreeLink. These seem to be Bluetooth prioritization issues. Also there needs to be more control in the users hand. I have the tinnitus program. If I want to try different sound like white noise, pink noise or ocean waves I have to go in to the Miracle Ear store. That’s just dumb. There is no technological reason for this.

Not VoiceOver Friendly

First, this review is not a reflection on the hearing aids or the service I’ve received, both of which are exemplary. However, as an experienced VoiceOver user and someone who is fairly tech savvy, I can tell you MiracleEar is mostly inaccessible. Many buttons on the screen aren’t labeled, and images just say image. As I swipe through different parts of MiracleEar , the hearing aids will randomly change program settings. I’ve also had connectivity issues but my main concern is with accessibility.

Bugs

I’ve been using the original version (MEcontrol) and was hoping for an update for awhile. When the new app came out I was very hopeful.
On the plus side, you can now create your own program for different situations (albeit very limited)
On the minus side, there is no indicator of remaining battery life (with the old program I would check it if I was going to be out for awhile and change the batteries if they were low so I wouldn’t have to fumble with them away from home).
Also, the usage indicator shows that after only about an hour of use, the display shows over 4 hours. Today I put them in at 8:30. It is now 9:30 and it indicates between 6 and 6.5 hours of use! I think something is wrong!
I hope these things get corrected soon.

I would like to see a history of use. Also more options for controlling my hearing aids. It’s also annoying when I set my options and they revert back to the original settings. I found a new “save” option. However it will revert back to universal and volume level 5 when you don’t want it too. Also the bass and treble are connected. When you increase one, the other decreases automatically. It would be nice to have an “equalizer” setting like you have in some stereos. With more sound adjusting options than simply bass and treble. And have those options work independently to one another.

Battery died and had a dead hearing aid after only wearing it about an hour and a half. That was a disappointment. How to put it back on the charger. Otherwise I pretty much like most of it but I don’t like that the battery would go out on it in a very short time when it supposed to last for 24 hours

Improved

New program is better and much more user friendly. I changed out my custom ear forms for the buds and that has eliminated the sound like I’m in a bubble. Timing was over due for program improvements and updates. I was wondering how updates could happen in the old program. Software needs constant fixes like Apple does with our phones. This software gives the user more info instead of the older one with those confusing graphs.

Amazing to hear again. I started loosing my hearing approx. 20 plus years ago. It was gradual but over time I knew something was wrong and started having to turn up the TV or when we went to the movies always asking what did they say or at a restaurant having to look to my wife to relay what the waitress just said.

The day I received my new ears it was raining outside and when I opened the door to go out could hear the rain hit the pavement or the next morning I could hear the birds chirp, went shopping with my wife and daughter and even though they were a little distance from me could them them very clearly.

All I can say is WOW! I can’t believe the things I grew used to not being able to hear and what I was missing. My life has improved due to Miracle Ear.

Went to another place previously didn’t know what they were doing and didn’t really seem too care about me or try to make any adjustments or anything to help my hearing conditions

Like the new app

It is offering some features to the provider that help to maximize the amazing benefits of my hearing aids. I have experienced a few odd “new update” issues like sudden rotation of settings and alternate intermittent loss of hearing in one ear then the other. These have ceased already and I am grateful for the attention to the launch team who seems to have given quick response regarding these anomalies. Good work! Great App!

Didn’t know what I was missing

I went to Miracle-Ear in Southport NC., I walked in not knowing what I was missing by not hearing certain things. I left feeling great with some hearing aids until mine were ready. I use the phone app when I’m in a noisy environment to get rid of the excess noise, the stroll feature to reduce wind whistles while I am out walking and the universal to focus a direction to focus on. Best decision I have made as an investment in my health

I‘ve been wearing close to a year the latest model of hearing aids from Miracle-Ear but the right unit has never worked well from the get go. It works sporadically and not too well. I’ve taken it in a few times but I am not too impressed with the results, it continues malfunctioning. It has resulted a product too pricey for the results I got so far because I only get to use the left unit.

I love my hearing aids!!! I can hear a lot of the things that I couldn’t hear before. I’m so blessed to have been able to have purchased them. I have a hard time getting the left side in but I’m told a lot of other people have that same issue. With God’s help I’m getting better and with time should be able to get it in with no problem’s. Nancy Maas is wonderful!!! She helps me when I need her and always gets me in if I am having any problems even if it goes into her lunch time. She is very dedicated and cares about her clients. I went in to have my hearing checked and was very surprised that my ability to hear higher sounds was decreasing. I really didn’t think I needed them but within a very short time I was wearing hearing aids. I was especially happy that since I had a choice in the color, you can’t even tell I have them, as they match my hair. It was a bit slower putting one side in, but after a while I did fine. The people who work there are always accommodating and answered all of my questions. What you do not hear, your brain cannot process. Therefore, wearing hearing aids is an important factor in deterring Alzheimer’s.

I can finally hear and I haven’t lost one HA. I’ve had three previous sets and I lost the right one in each pair. It wasn’t until I came to Miracle Ear did I learn that all HA is not one size fits all. So if you talk to someone who is planning to get HA make sure they take a mold of your ear! These were pretty expensive but I’ve had them over a year and they haven’t fallen out once. Plus they give you batteries if that’s the kind you get. My only problem is the masks we are required to wear. Hearing aids don’t get your hearing back to 100% so the masks hinder my ability to read lips! All in all a great experience! Tyese and Robin were very thorough and professional!

I reached the point where I couldn’t hear a sentence from my wife. I did not have a problem hearing the guys at work. I explained to her that we had a problem. She suggested that I get my hearing checked and I did. Miracle-Ear checked my hearing and told me that I had lost my high pitch hearing. Now that I am using Miracle-Ear hearing aid’s I have been hearing a lot better. I did not realize the sounds that I had been missing.I like the features of listening to the radio at the gym, or watching TV late at night and being the only one inside the house hearing the program, or being able to turn the volume down at restaurants or concerts. With a free iPhone app and their equipment, all of this is possible for anyone. Retirement and being able to hear is priceless.

I have love my new Hearing Aids so much. I can understand my phone better and it comes straight to my ears. That makes it more private. I bought a new phone and I need to go to the office and get Paul to make the switch to my new phone. I love having the TV sound coming straight from the TV. I don’t have to worry of having it to loud and disturbing any one else. I like only hearing it myself unless I chose to have the TV sound heard by other people. I will always get my hearing problems solved by Miracle Ear as long as Paul Stephens is there. I got my first hearing aids from him many years ago.

I miss my bluetooth connect.

I have downloaded and used both MEcontrol apps amd I don’t care for either. They do not conect unless I go to my phone settings. I have to go through several steps and control everything from my phone settings. Then, MiracleEar connects. Why bother. And my right hearing still meeds replacing. I had analog hearing aids that worked better. Tired of having to travel 23 miles for adjustments that do not work. The problem is mot adjustment, it is wiring or craftsmanship. Not worth my investment. I received an email from a Michael Villafana On January16, 2020, ti which I responded immediately. My response was to ask him to contact me at my personal number. Today Is February 8,2020, I am still waiting for any kind of response. I have tried calling the 800 provided in Mr. Villafana’s email several times, but have not had success.

MiracleEar doesn’t stay connected, has to be downloaded repeatedly because it cannot make reconnection. My hearing aids work fine with my iPhone for streaming Bluetooth, yet I have no control with my iRIC’s without MiracleEar unless I try to just dig through my settings to make an adjustment which is frustrating and time consuming! Bad thing is I am an HCP and would love to encourage others to use MiracleEar and don’t feel that the kinks are out of it enough to use it! Many of my patients are not tech savvy and are struggling with MiracleEar too.

The basics are good, but the connectivity of the old app was much better. This one has to “reconnect” to the aids much more often than before. It also is way off with the usage timing. I have had the aids in for 9 hours, and it’s reading 5. Let’s correct these new issues the old app didn’t have.

Never could get it to reconnect today so had to go back to the original app which paired immediately. I’m internet/app savvy, so that’s not the problem. You need to correct the new app technically and not just be concerned about a new look.

It has serious problems

I have the latest aids iR 5 XP
There is some real bad problems with MiracleEar .
MiracleEar won’t connect most of the time and when it does it takes about 15 seconds or more. When it’s working and in the background and nothing else is run after it goes to the background it will come back but it has to reconnect and again it takes 15 seconds.
When it does come back, much of the time it says it’s connected but you are not able to change any of the functions. Worse many times the aids are now stuck in a mode that is not a normal listening mode and to correct it they must be dipped in the charger to be reset.
The problem is when it goes to the background it gets confused and sets the aids to a mode that makes the aids unusable until reset.
MiracleEar should not have to take 15 seconds to connect when brought from the background.
These are serious bugs that need to be corrected ASAP!
As I sit here writing this, MiracleEar won’t connect at all and I have to assume that I’ll have to delete the hearing aids and pair them again. This happened after the latest update as MiracleEar would not recognize that I even had hearing aids. I have the iPhone 11max pro with the latest software.
All this happens when there is nothing running in the background and MiracleEar is the only one running.
I have offered my help with my phone number in their on line comments but no one has contacted me.

Hours used, no need to adjust volume, making appointments no matter where I am, adjustments, etc. app is a nice touch but the latest ric’s make it a nice touch to track usage but the ric’s are fairly self sustaining, maintaining and mostly do not even know I am wearing them. Fantastic product. iOS compatibility is just an added value.

I certainly was astonished at what I was not hearing. Mr. Ross Osborne was amazing at introducing hearing problems and the dangers to our health. Then he patiently and deliberately went through a myriad of tests to come to the conclusion as to what I needed in hearing assistance. I am very satisfied, but I am most grateful for Mr. Osborne patience and thorough explanations. He is persistent in assuring my comfort and is there by phone or in the office for any questions or assistance. I am very satisfied.

The fact that MiracleEar syncs my phone to the hearing aids makes close to speechless. This is the best I’ve heard telephone conversations in years. I’m having no problems at all. Getting used to hearing sounds I haven’t heard in years has been my biggest obstacle and after a month I’m doing well with that also.
All in all Miracle-Ear has been a wonderful experience for me.

I can hear!

Didn’t believe I had hearing loss until I came home with my Miracle-Ear aids and instantly turned my TV volume from 18 to 6. Now I hear all kinds of sounds I didn’t know existed.
AIDS are so comfortable I have to remind myself to take them off.
Patrick (specialist) and Heidi (receptionist) at the Henrietta NY store are delightful, knowledgeable and efficient (also relentless with my very slow insurance company).

I spent a couple extra years just hanging out refusing to get the hearing aids because I just kept telling myself I didn’t need them I didn’t need them. Now that I have them now that magical air has me in the right set at the right amount of money well trained by metro by miracle ear folks here in Medford Oregon I’m very very happy thank you
