The device is pretty good but Roborock is garbage quality, and updates break random things, like the last one broke map selection (can no longer chose the floor, have to go “edit” a map, cancel the edit and then it’ll select that map, what a joke). The developers apparently have no idea how to write release notes so you can’t even tell what each version addresses. (“squashed some bugs”, more like added a ton of bugs).

Update: this device is completely unusable on black rugs, it detects them as cliffs, and after a year of complaints they still have not added a function to disable this useless behavior, forget about actually fixing it.

Arrived, took out of box, setup, created maps. It worked like a dream. I quickly fell in love with my new favourite item!! Used every day. Then, came firmware update. Disaster. Could no longer use a basic map without unable to find map error, then crashes into everything. I have tried 4 days in a row... it spends an hour crashing, getting lost, can’t even find dock when I’ve had enough and pull out my vacuum and mop. Then, did software update. Now a password on my account. I entered password used during setup... not valid. Tried phone login... not valid.... so not only will the machine not work, Roborock won’t either. This unit is less than one month old. I want to know how a company could take my dream product and destroy it so fast. Still in gov’t lockdown, so will be taking to an authorised dealer as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you have a working unit, don’t update Roborock or the firmware unless you cherish a non-working unit.

Lacks 3 critical features 1. When cleaning room by room, being able to “queue” new rooms on the go is a must. 2. Room limit in the map settings (I believe 10) is a joke. My house have more rooms/areas and I can assign them all. 2.1 Separating rooms was very difficult, and tricky. I needed to split certain rooms temporarily to be able to sculpt them to perfection (otherwise it wasn’t working). But I didn’t reflect this into my score since I was able to accomplish it somehow. 3. Liquid level isn’t displayed in Roborock . Even if it can’t show the liquid level, it should at least show a sign when it’s empty.

Response to response: I have the latest model (S7+) and I can’t add rooms while it’s working. Also, it tells me 10 rooms is the max. Nothing in this response is the reality for me. I have the latest app version FYI.

Got my robot in 2019 worked like a dream for years. Loved it cleaned each room as instructed, never disconnected from the wifi went home when it was low on battery, pinged me when maintenance was needed and the voice, it was perfect and the voice was pretty much fluent and soothing. Update comes in late 2021, robot is ramming into everything, getting stuck on nothing, getting lost despite no obstacles, quitting for no reason in one room trying to climb up my chair. removing all the voices, there used to be 8 english, 6 chinese voices, 3 japanese, 4 Spanish, and so much more. Now there’s only one botched english voice that’s gargled and cant even say “cleaning” correctly other voices include only one Spanish option and 9 stupid Chinese versions. My last complaint is why I need a password and account for a vacuum. I only expect it to clean the floor semi decently, and only just recently got over the fact of the stupidity of needing wifi, I wish I could downgrade firmware. Way to ruin something nearly perfect I would give negative stars if i could

Worked great for about a minute! Now, it won’t load the maps it just sits and spins. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, and nothing helps. Don’t even bother wasting the space on your device for Roborock unless they fix the bugs! SO, for the reviewer that said to disregard the low reviews, I am happy they don’t have a problem with this vacuum, but I DO have the S6, and it does NOT work with Roborock ! The vacuum runs, and it cleans, and I love the mopping feature but of the walls won’t work in the mapping section what is the point. I certainly don’t need to mop my carpet. Best of luck to all you other this app owners, I hope it has been a better experience than mine.

Roborock is not optimized for an iPad screen, so if you plan on using this from an iPad be aware that it won’t run in full-screen mode, won’t auto-rotate, etc—all of the limitations that apps which are not optimized for iPad have. Given the amount of detail presented on the map and the need to interact with the map, the developers should provide better support for iPad. Otherwise, the vacuum works great and technology is pretty darn amazing. If you can engineer this stuff to use LIDAR and AI you can surely give Roborock more polish like other reviewers have already noted. I understand this is a brand-new product but what you deliver from day-1 in your product is what truly matters—not what whatever features/fixes may appear or not appear in the future.

I’ve had the S5max for over a year now and it started losing the wifi signal with the first upgrade, then with every update and could not reconnect to wifi without going thru hoops and a lot of stupid stuff. I contact support, I have to say they are good at responding BUT NOTHING THEY SAY WORKS! I’ve removed Roborock , and device wait an hour sometime 24 hours, download everything again try to reconnect NOTHING. Everything in my house connected to WIFI stays connected but this thing. I’ve been trying for over a week THIS TIME
to get it reconnected and nothing. I WOULD NEVER BUY THIS AGAIN. I’m sorry I really liked at the beginning but when they do firmware updates this vacuum can’t take and gets all hosed up. RGHT NOW I HAVE A MIND TO JUST THROW IN THE GARBAGE and I spent almost $600 to go thru this nightmare.

The vacuum itself is unbelievably great, but it’s hampered slightly by its less than average app. Roborock still needs LOTS of polish. From handling multiple maps, to Google Assistant support, features that exist in Mi Home but not on Roborock, and overall user interface (which currently looks like an intern or inexperienced programmer developed). However, having said all the negatives, I think Roborock allows users to accomplish all the necessary tasks required for operating the vacuum (this app S6). I would still highly recommend the this app S6 to anyone despite the minor shortcomings of its associated app.

I have a this app S6 and it works mostly fine. It is a pleasure to have this automation. But it is a pain when it stumbles on basic things that are easily fixed in Roborock :
-there needs to be an option to ignore the cliff sensors (globally and by room). If you have a rug or carpet that is dark, the sensors think it’s a black chasm and won’t climb it. We rely on using scotch tape and aluminum foil to foil the sensors. Fix this!!
-there needs to be an option for direct drive (RC style) to move the robot out of a jam when you are not home. Pin and Go is a good step, but sometimes we just need it to move in a direction and damm the torpedoes!

Just got my this app s7 and it works amazingly well! The mapping is wonderfully accurate, and the cleaning is spot on! It’s almost done charging, then wrapping the main floor, and there’s a few things I’d like to see changed. Charging at 20% is really annoying if there’s only a few minutes of cleaning left. PLEASE change this to be user editable. Even down to 10 percent would be wonderful, but 5 I think would be optimal. Please consider changing this.

This was a great purchase! Roborock is intuitive and has some nice features like Siri Shortcuts and multi level mapping. I took the robot out of the box, loaded Roborock and had it cleaning in 15 minutes. Also multi level mapping is great but you need to start a new map in Roborock then let it lose on each floor and once mapped you can name the floors and rooms. I find Roborock to be easy to use and it is nice to get stats like footage cleaned, battery life and current position on one screen. There are some opportunities with better graphics and the addition of an iPad app.

The cleaning ability, ease of use, navigation make this a great product.

I have the S7+. I’m glad I did my research and went with this app. The technology is superior to iRobot and the software is better as well. I’ve had no issues with WiFi connection, the real time bot tracking is great, and it does a great job mopping. There’re two issues I have:

1) if you have a shag carpet, you can’t vacuum over it because the side brush will get caught and hold the vacuum hostage. The very simple solution is add a feature into Roborock to stop using the side brush. Despite countless complaints by users, this app has been deaf to this issue.

2) if the vacuum goes out for cleaning for just 1 second and then I decide to cancel, it will auto empty into the dock. It’d be nice for this app to realize it was out for just a short period of time that it probably doesn’t need to empty into the dock.

If this app can just fix the side brush issue, I’d easily give Roborock a 5/5. It takes some time to learn all the features, but once you do, it’s very user friendly.

I felt compelled to write a review because of all the low reviews by people that don’t understand that Roborock only works with the newer generation S4, S5 Max, and S6. The original S5 is not supported by Roborock. For older hardware you need to use the Mi Home app. I can understand that owners of older hardware want the new app to to support their robot, but they plainly state that Roborock only supports these robots so users with incompatible hardware blasting it seems unfair. I do think this app should find a way to get all the robots under one app and just limit them to their capabilities within it for simplicity. I can say that for my supported hardware (S5 Max), Roborock works great. The mapping is great, no go and no mop zones work flawlessly. I was able to draw a box in Roborock and zone clean it. Google Home integration works, though I had a couple days of outage. I was able to create rooms out my open floor plan and have it clean specific rooms. Roborock also notifies you when the robot has completed cleaning. Really happy with both the robot and Roborock . It’s unfortunate that the ratings are so low. Having a good app was really important to me as I was researching what robot vacuum to buy and if I hadn’t taken the time to read the reviews and understand they were almost all disgruntled customers with unsupported hardware I might have missed out on buying one that I’m super happy with.

I originally used the Mi Home app and then saw some posts where Roborock works for the S6. It connected easily, transferred all my settings, and then deactivated my this app in Mi Home. Nice! The onboarding process was the same as Mi Home. So you do have to pay attention to what it is telling you to do as you step thru the process. Roborock works pretty much the same, but seems a bit more refined. I love being able to divide the rooms into zones and sending the robot to do specific rooms.

Excellent product and APP. this app works better than most of the mopping robot on mopping function. It’s famous LiDar navigation in vacuum, strong suction power and long battery runtime simply outstanding. I must say s7 is the best robot cleaner in my mind, comparing to other brands and models. this app APP is rich in multiple features and I love every one of them. I can even set cleaning sequence of different rooms. Wonderful, joyful and perfectly helpful. this app is the iPhone of robots.

Roborock brings my S7 to LIFE. There are so many useful features!!!! Setting pin and go for spot cleaning, the times when you want to clean, autonomous remote control, the amount of suction and mopping you desire, setting no go zones. Right out of the box Roborock used the robot to identify the structure of my apartment. Every cleaning session is tracked in Roborock so you can see where your robot has cleaned. I wanted to write this review because my experience with the robot and Roborock together are just phenomenal. Highly recommended.

Application works great with my S6 MaxV, it allows me to see the LIDAR scans and Reactive AI pictures (shoes, scales, etc.) that my vacuum has found on an easy to view map. I can set no-go zones, no mopping zones, and invisible barriers/walls with ease. Scheduling is pretty intuitive as well, I can customize what rooms should be mopped (and with how much water), how much suction should be used for each room. Additionally I can map additional floors of my home with ease. Firmware update added new features to my S6 MaxV this morning as well, no issues to report with my vacuum, firmware, or Roborock .

S6 Pure - love this thing. Frees up so much time wasted on sweeping and vacuuming. I’ve got mine set to clean the house daily after I leave for work. No go zone is helpful, doesn’t get absolutely everything all the time but does a fairly good job.

For the perfectionist, don’t get it. For those that are willing to take a few minor crumbs in return for freeing up your time, get it.

Wishes - Charges more fully before going back to cleaning, goes back multiple times to charge to get jobs done sometimes... better mop options, it’s just water and a dirt pad.

I’ve had an S6 for 8-9 months or so and it’s been a treat to use. We have 3 cats, 1 dog and a parrot, so we have plenty of debris for this hungry robot. I used to have a deebot n79s and this this destroys it. It’s not even in the same ballpark. The s6 is perfectly dependable, the deebot was a gable every time I ran it as it got stuck on something 100% of the time. The s6 has never gotten stuck. Additionally, Roborock is amazing and they update and hone the functionality much more than the competition in my experience. Roborock itself is dependable and fully featured. They just added Siri short cuts and they worked easy peasy. this app, I’m am a fan.

This robot vacuum is well worth the money spent. It works almost flawlessly. I am able to do everything it was designed to do. I’ve had it for well over a year now and only have had a couple small issues. After one of the firmware updates it would get lost every once in a while. That went away after the next update. The only real issue I ever have is, it saying the main brush is jammed and needs cleaned (when it really doesn’t need cleaned yet) All you do is hit the “clean” button on Roborock and it will continue. I love my “Sally”. Please bring back her old voice.!!!!!! The new voice is very strange.

We just got our S5 Max and Roborock shows no Timer setting in the settings menu. (App is running on 2 iOS devices with same result) I am unable to set start times.
Weird since Roborock demo pictures shows timer setting in the iOS store.
Other than that, it functions as advertised.

The S6 is a great vac and works well once Roborock is connected. The instructions that came with the bot does not correlate to the way Roborock works. However, once you figure out the process, everything works as expected. Once they update Roborock and/or the written instructions, things for new users will be less confusing.

The first update caused my S6 to go offline and run some crazy weird routes for a few minutes and return to the dock before finishing. This seems to have been fixed now and has only happened once more but never again.

Finally, I’m able to read the dates on the notifications although I wish they would show the most recent at the top rather than on the bottom.

Other than that, the only negatives I have are the weird illustrations they’ve added to Roborock . What’s the explanation for the plus sized woman and her cat. Is that reflective of the users of Roborock ? Doesn’t make sense.

Also, still not fully trusting exactly what information is being gathered about me, my home, and my network. Is the mapping kept on their servers?

Leaving this because all the reviewers here seem to not know how to read a product page. We bought the S6 and both my wife and I connected to the robot. It seems to work well. Setup could have been a bit simpler (maybe look at how Alexa does set up) but overall we're very happy 😊. Good thing we read the page before getting salty!

Clean and to the point. Roborock does what you would expect considering the advertised functionality of the S6. UI/UX is very clean and works as expected. Reminds me of setting up practically all IOT devices such as smart switches, assistants, etc. Nothing new or innovative as far as setup goes, but was easy to do. I was up and running in a few minutes.

This seems to have such a low star rating because people are upset it isn’t compatible with the vacuums it.. explicitly says it already isn’t compatible with. For those that have models that ARE advertised as compatible, it works great! Besides, I’ve tried this alongside Mi Home and they are extremely similar, really no difference.

Not sure why Roborock has such bad reviews. Set up my s6 today and was able to map out our whole main floor. Love the zone cleaning function. And the vacuum itself works so much better than the roomba! The no-go zones were easy to set up and Roborock seems pretty simple to use!

Love my this app s4 AND Roborock. It’s far better than other robot vacuums I’ve used.

The only thing I wish I could do is name rooms, especially for use with Alexa.

Roborock is intuitive and easy to use. Plus, the previous account recovery with a phone number issue has been corrected.

Being able to have my robot clean various rooms with various schedules is amazing. The no go lines and areas is also super convenient. I’ve had zero issues with Roborock and it’s made our s4 indispensable.
