Hello to the this app family, there are problems with the application that is found in iPhone 13 and 14 phones. There is a problem that the camera does not recognize the buttons as shown in the picture. The camera does not recognize your application, so I hope that this problem will be resolved because many Gulf countries use this application. Please advise us why The camera does not work with this device. Either you want the devices to work well. You have to update or add these devices, or you agree with the type of this camera. Thank you.

LookCam has its ups and downs. The product itself is simple to install from within LookCam . Everything else is ridiculously broken. The alarm function is almost impossible to set / arm or disarm. Push notifications do not work ever. I have verified they are on within Apple app settings. This allows you basic camera monitoring but that is all. Motion detection isn’t even recorded with any kind of reliability. Please overhaul and fix LookCam!!!!!!

Here I thought I would be able to look into my house while away from the house, but in order to see your camera you have to be connected to your wifi and then look through the camera. Which defeats the purpose of having a camera not only that but if you don’t use it for 10 minutes it shuts off and you literally have to take it down turn it off and back on for it to connect to and then connect to your 2.4 wifi to look at yourself because your home and it doesn’t work unless you’re home . This was a waste of money for me I’m going on vacation and would like to see my house while I’m gone but can’t because this product just doesn’t work period. Even after charging the thing overnight it still doesn’t stay on highly recommend a better device if you’re looking for a real security camera and not just a camera that works when you are home.

Not too bad but when I tried to view any saved videos on this forsaken app it would always fail. It failed when trying to download files to phone to view them. They offer a cloud system when you pay monthly or yearly but it does not work AT ALL. There are no files No response from support team or anyone. Avoid LIKE THE PLAGUE.

With some work, LookCam could be decent. The alarm config settings indicate changes were saved but if you go to another device setting and return to alarm confirm, it automatically resets. Without alarm settings you have to watch all footage to see a detection. No option for delete all saved files without clicking each one but that doesn’t delete the entry. It still shows up but with 0 in each data field. You can’t ffwd through files without downloading but it doesn’t download to your phone. The live viewing has night vision but unsure when it’s on or off and no changes are noticed when toggled. Set the recording intervals for 30 min but files were an hour and 45 min. There was a 3 hour gap during continuous recording. Changed record interval to 5 min and it seems to record accurately.

LookCam had potential but instead it is a complete Joke and a waste of time because just when you think you have it working you soon realize that you have another set of issues that give nothing but problems.. I think the developer kinda gave up and moved on and if full of crap on all the bug fix updates because 0% of the time it works 100% correctly….. you hope it will but are let down…The rest of the time LookCam is on break from what I can tell just like the developer

The overall app is pretty decent with ok controls, easy navigation, and ok layout, BUT it rarely works, extremely difficult to connect to the network, loses connection 99% of the time, simply doesn’t work properly 99% of the time, and constantly acts like it’s trying to connect to eventually get that dreaded, “Device Offline” error. I’m planning to research to find an app that actually works with my camera, even if it’s 50% of the time. Modern technology is only good when it works and LookCam renders my camera useless and a throw away at best. Hopefully the developer will figure it out, get the bugs fixed, and strive to achieve at least 4 stars on the typical review.

Just a catastrophe. Alpha level software. Not a single feature is dependable, something absolutely essential for home security and monitoring. Software loses connection with camera at least once a week requiring a camera factory reset and setting it up again. SD card reformatting often required because it often cannot loop recordings. Software often reports formatting failed, even when it doesn’t. Cloud recording paid subscription add-on not dependable and often goes down on weekends. Recordings stored there have playback issues, often switching between normal and fast forward-style playback with no way to correct. Downloading those recordings is baffling. Alarm monitoring simply doesn’t work. You need to manually review recordings, but you cannot easily do so using terrible built-in video player. Software controls often don’t work in landscape mode. I’ve had this six months and there have been only two app updates, none improving the software and the last one added new problems. I have used hundreds of apps over the years. This is literally the worst I have ever used. Unconscionable.

Here are the things that need fixing:

1. When listening to live stream it does not work with headphones on my iPhone. I have to listen through the phone speakers. This doesn’t work when you don’t want other people to hear. I should be able to wear headphones to listen.

2. Recordings do not play sound. Fix it so video recordings play sound. I shouldn’t have to download a recording to a computer to hear sound. I need sound in near real time on playback.

3. When playing a recorded video you are not able to skip forward or backwords. I don’t want to watch a full three minutes on my phone for each recording especially when the stream is on loop. I shouldn’t have to download recordings to a computer to hear sound and skip around to a different portion.

4. Motion alarms don’t work consistently and seem less reliable if the sound alarm is turned off with only push notifications. I get an initial alarm per day and then none for subsequent motion.

By far the worst app that has ever been created. Actually, it may be the best ever created if the goal was really to do everything possible to destroy one’s sanity. I need not go into detail, as other reviews are spot on, but it is just incredible how every feature seems to have been designed with the express purpose of frustrating the user, with little recourse for the users themselves, as LookCam developers seem to have other priorities given their refusal to address these simple issues. Few things have made me scream into a pillow as much as LookCam. What a disgrace!

For the most part the Wi-Fi and IP connection works fine. Night mode don’t work for nothing and the same for sound… there is a mic but you can’t hear anything on the recording or live feed. Notification works fine but doesn’t record a video that will attach to that notification. My biggest issue is the constant app crashing. I was recording something happening in my yard and after 2 mins of recording LookCam keeps crashing and doesn’t save the video. You will not have a saved video unless you still the recording before it crashes.

LookCam works pretty good and it saves data like it’s supposed to, however the only complaint that I have is LookCam crashes way too frequently. When I set the picture quality to 4K LookCam crashes back to back.

LookCam is only stable when I have my camera settings to 1080p or 2K.

A solid 2 stars, lacking 3 because of the frequent crashes.

When LookCam works like it should, it’s fine.

But that’s when it actually is. I’ve done just about every single “fix” to make it work again only to be faced with the same issues. The most common issue is the camera appearing offline, but my xfinity app says it’s connected. This issue sorts itself out but it’s a guessing game of when.

The next issue is audio. There’s no Bluetooth headphone support for LookCam which is odd considering it’s 2023. Another “audio” issue is the audio coming from the live video feed. 90% of the time it’s very hard to hear noises or even people talking (yes, even when they’re right by the camera) it tends to make people and noises seem very far away from the camera and randomnly it’ll get super loud only to go right back to being very quiet and muffled to the point it sounds like your camera is in your fish tank on the other side of the house but don’t worry It gets worse. There’s always a constant “feedback” noise that 50% of the time gets louder than the actual noise in your home making it impossible to understand a conversation or actually hear noises inside your home. I’ve experimented with this specific issue and from what I’ve concluded to, each outlet in your home makes it better or worse. The strangest part is, the closer I placed my camera to the router, the worse the feedback and audio got

- Can’t set alarms for overnight, when doing so it says “start time must be lower than end time”

- Notifications are inconsistent. Sometimes days will go by, while there is movement, and I get no notifications. Almost seems like there is a quota as to how many notifications I get each month. This wouldn’t be an issue if the first issue I noted above would get fixed.

Since the July 2021 update LookCam keeps crashing after being open a few minutes. Some features do not work like motion detection. The night vision is grainy. Overall it decent. But Definitely needs some work and to be smoke tested before releasing fixes to customers to make sure new bugs aren’t being introduced.

I’m currently out of town so I cannot physically troubleshoot this issue. There was an outage in my neighborhood which caused the device to go offline. Now the internet is back up and running and the device still reads “offline”. This has been so inconveniencing because this device is now useless until I get back home. The audio issues are less than decent. I wish the audio was better, however, you can make out audio 75% of the time. Please add Bluetooth capability for audio listening and improve the audio. I would not purchase this device again.

I have several camera that all use an app similar to this one. Overall I’m happy with this product but have noticed a few bugs.

1. When watching live video the sound will play over the speakers and not the headphones.
I did find if I unplugged and replugged my headphone jack it would work. But each time I close the camera or app I’d have to do this again.

2. The alarm play back “files” won’t load. Some will say they have “0” storage on the file, and others will show a file size. For not however it won’t play the video. The only way I’ve been able to record video is if I am manually watching the camera and hit “record”. The Alarm recording is basically useless. I have played around and tested this on 3 camera and they all have the same issue.

Over all I’m happy with this product, but it does lack what other companies have excelled in.

I find the privacy concerns to be very concerning. And I would like assurance that those have been fixed in the interest of your customers.

I would be glad to provide images or videos to show the exact issues I have been having .

Cons
-pop ups are in Chinese (but everything else is mostly English)
-no explanation of what any button does or how to set anything up
- app doesn’t crash often but does slow down and mess up from time to time
-when viewing files saved to the sd card, you cannot skip ahead in the video, you must sit through the whole 5 mins of you wanna see the end of the video (if you download the video you can ff and rw)
- sometimes when downloading files the download bar won’t show up but will still be downloading
-if you leave the files page to go view your stream their downloads will be canceled.
-Must stay on file page to download files even if you never leave LookCam
-doesn’t provide camera wifi information (ip address etc)
-recorded video is a little slower than it actually is

Pros
-does what it’s supposed to do (stream and record videos)
- doesn’t crash as much compared to other apps
- camera is always online when I check it
-there is a lot of useful features and options on LookCam such as the motion detection recording and night vision but you have to figure it out for yourself

Overall 3 stars bc it works better than most other ip camera apps but is by no means perfect

OK like a lot of things these days this is from China as are the cameras that it connects to. All and All does what it is supposed to do. Instructions are minimal you’ll have to figure it out on your own. One thing that’s concerning, you do not have to set up your router to allow the communications through. And when you’re configuring the software even if you’re not on site it’s able to find the camera with your iPhone. The only way this can work is if both the camera and your software are connecting to a third device such as a server someplace. Given that the camera is on 24/7 I would not suggest putting it in a sensitive area such as a bedroom. It’s almost certain that the manufacturer or the coder of the software have unlimited access to recorded video and the video feed.

Ok upped the rating to 4 from 3 because finally fingered out how to save from app the phone. For those struggling like me, download the clip you want to save, then go to photos at the bottom of the screen. Then once you select the downloaded clip in there long press on it until it gives you the option to save and it will save to your phones photo album.

Push notifications don’t work

-motion detection still needs an update please! It will record on motion detection but will continue to record clips infinitely even though there is no more motion. (Found out this was the camera not LookCam so motion detection is good)

-also the IR schedule needs to be updated to be able to start the IR at a time higher than the end. For example I can not tell it to start IR mode at 9pm and end at 8am.
