I’ve riden Lime, Swift, Bird, Jump, Uber and Lyft scoters. Goat is the clumsiest of all of them. Hint: once you creat a password and you see a grayed out “next” button... it means that you need to tap the tiny purple letters in fine print to go agree to the terms and conditions. I spent 3-4 min here trying different passwords thinking it didn’t like my passwords. Not the case. There should be a pop up page for the user to agree to terms. Those tiny letters were not at all intuitive. Also- terms and conditions page contained the incomplete sentence and odd phraseology. Then once app finally launched I was prompted to “update” my app. Clicked to follow link.... when back to apple App Store only to discover I had the current app. “X” out of App Store. App insists I update Goat , which can’t be done because I’m already updated. Close app. Re- try again. No go. Restart phone and try again. No go. Reinstall. App. No go. Guess what!!!! Goat is a total NoGo!!! I’m 15 minutes into an attempted use and still no go. THERE IS NO WAY A NORMAL CUSTOMER WOULD STILL BE STANDING ON THE STREET FIDDLING WITH THIS TERRIBLE APP. THEY WOULD HAVE LONG SINCE QUIT. PICKED UP THE SCOOTER AND THROWN IT INTO THE STREET!!! I hope version 2.0 is a smidge better. Cheers.
Scooters are never in the location shown on the map. I went to multiple locations and they were never there. When I finally found one, it wasn’t working. They shouldn’t show up on the map when they aren’t functioning. Every time I have taken a trip on one, they have claimed that I have gone like 2 miles when I really just went a 5 blocks. Don’t waste your time or money on these.
App debits your credit card, but doesn’t add funds in Goat so you can ride. Support is non-existent, and the provided phone number gives some cryptic message about development codes and then disconnects. Keep your money.
I went down the street a couple times. Took no more than 5 minutes. Said I went three miles and 30 km per hour. Charged me almost 3 bucks for a few minutes. Live and birds are definitely better
every single time I rode one of those scooters it charged my for extra time. AND Goat was so slow that it would show that i’m in the correct area to end my ride but not allow me to. plus they charged to my card for $20. total scam.
Yeah it wouldn’t let me end the ride so I ended up getting charged extra. Not to mention the scooter is way slower than other similar companies. I think like 8-9 mph where as others max out at 15. Also when I tried to pre pay it charged me twice. Really and honestly disgraceful. Save yourself the stress and skip it.
Long and difficult app setup. Scooter is super slow and it would be faster to walk, no joke. The scooter cannot handle ANY incline, even 1 degree. Doesn't brake fully and then sometimes the brake would get stuck when trying to cross the street. I don't see the point of renting these if they don't get you where you want to go quickly. Avoid this scooter all together!
The scooter was stuck in some slow mode and no one could figure out how to take it off. No instructions on the scooter about how to change it. We wasted money beginning and ending rides looking for settings on how to get off slow mode and couldn’t find any information in Goat . This is the second time this has happened to us.
This was one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had with an app like this! I spent at least 30 mins trying to park my scooter— I tried parking in multiple zones— and Goat wouldn’t let me drop it off. I tried contacting support and could not get access to immediate help. I was charged over $50 for what should have been a 5 minute simple ride because of Goat glitch. Will NOT be using again.
We checked out scooters- after great struggle with Goat , we should’ve known- only to be unable to resume the ride one we paused it, leaving us stranded. We couldn’t restart the rides as the scooters were “off line” and we weren’t able to end them. As of now my friend has been charged $55 and I’m still unable to end my ride. Customer service was emailed with details and screen shots and photos and 8 hours later they responded with only “sorry for your trouble”?
Recently these scooters were added to my campus and have no problem getting started for a ride, but so many issues ending the ride.
Currently, as I'm writing this review, I have a ride going for about two+ hours and no way to contact support to get this fixed. So I’m at the mercy of their ticket support and email system (that I'm not even sure is customer support) instead. You have to take a picture of the parked scooter for the ride to stop and to not charge you. This is about the third or fourth time I’ve had this issue. So far they’ve refunded me every time, but this is still ridiculous to have to deal with.
So wouldn’t recommend these at all unless you want to chock up a bill of over $50 bucks if the scooter just refuses to turn off.
The scooters payment system is extremely inefficient.
Very nice app, and works well with everything and is super user friendly. My only gripe is that I wish it wouldn’t force you to top up your money before you go for a ride. I have over 5 bucks on my account which translates to about 12 minutes of ride time, but I can’t go without putting 10 more dollars on my account, which I will never use fully since I don’t ride often enough. That brings me to the second thing, I wish we could put in a custom amount of money, and not the preset 10, 20, or 40 dollar options. If they made it so when you run out of money the scooter just stops, that would be better than having to have 20 dollars on your account to go for a 5 minute rip and spend only a quarter of that money.
I had a bad experience with the scooters where we were charged a ridiculous amount, but after messaging support, they were able to refund me the money for the amount of time I believed wasn’t fair. And they replied on the same day and the refund was given to me shortly after!
I thought that they wouldn’t do it after reading some reviews, but I they did!
Cool App. Was quick and easy to download. Straightforward registration and functionality. I had my first this app ride and loved it.
Took a few rides on vacation and loved it!! Will definitely use again.
App was simple to use and the eScooter was fun to ride around. My family had a great time with this app. 5Star !
Had so much fun riding scooters around Wichita Falls. Not very expensive and so much fun
My family and I love riding this app scooters, wonderful experience, and it isn’t as pricey as other companies!
This was soooo much fun. I live in Idaho and have only seen videos of people riding these electric scooters around. My wife and I were out for a walk and hopped on and just had the time of our lives for $5.80!!
The only problem was getting Goat set up is not the clearest but other negative reviews allowed us to get through it and have a lot of fun!
came into town saw them an took a ride ! best bucket list ride ever !!! thanks
