Closed my account without warning and then reopened it

2022-05-22

I opened my account. Noticed that my account was restricted so I proactively contacted them and was guided to provide my ID photos. That was totally understandable. So I provided my ID photos and hoped that my account would be verified within a few days. However, the next day they sent me a message saying that my account had been closed!!? They didn’t even tell me why. So I once again contacted them asking why my account had been closed and was asked to provide my ID, which I had already done proactively. So I stopped caring and opened an account with another brokerage. Then a few days after that, they sent me another message saying that my account had been re-opened. Fine! Thanks! My husband is going to move to another brokerage too because of this bad customer experience. So, Fidelity, next time, (1) contact your customer first if you see a problem in their application and (2) if you close your customer’s account, at least tell them why.

Lacks functionality and isn’t organized well

2022-06-23

I wanted to use FidelitySpire as a one stop shop to view my fidelity and non-fidelity accounts like you are able to on Charles Schwab’s app. I was excited to see you can add external accounts and link them to a goal, but I ran into issues at every step of the way. First, it gave me an error when I tried to add an external account. The next time I logged in it had somehow added the account. Then I tried to link it to a goal and it gave me another cryptic error that said due to “limitations” it could not be linked. So at that point being able to link external accounts is pretty much useless. Also, FidelitySpire Store says it is over 4 years old, but the fact that they are still having these issues and there are vague “coming soon” banners everywhere in FidelitySpire for features that would be useful but are not included makes me think this is really not a high priority for Fidelity to develop. Disappointed as a new fidelity customer.

Misleading - this is almost the old app, and not a "new UI contender"

2022-07-24

Fidelity, whoever your UI designer is - replace them. But your marketing team is fantastic making these screenshots look like FidelitySpire is as friendly as the RobbingHood UI.

When I open FidelitySpire, I don't want to land on the "goals" tab. I want to land on a real time ticker or at the very least a position SUMMARY for my accounts. From there, I should be able to decide if I want to drill down into separate accounts. Fidelity has always annoyed me with the way the UI on mobile is completely backwards with its navigation on the web and the mobile experiences. So much so that I use other tickers like Webull for information and tracking, and then only complete trades in your interface.

Completely and totally disappointing and hard to use.....again.

Features have said “Coming Soon” for many months

2022-08-25

Features like Recurring Deposits and Spare Cash Calculator have been show as Coming Soon in FidelitySpire for nearly a year and they never got added. Very strange. They should just make the main Fidelity app more usable instead of adding this secondary app with less functionality that they aren’t keeping up with. The better UI gets FidelitySpire 2 stars, but otherwise the main Fidelity app or website are far more functional.

We only need a pure trading app

2022-09-26

I really hope FidelitySpire can work as the RH one does. The core feature should be trading, not setting goals. Maybe a separate tab for cash management but that’s it. FidelitySpire also lacks lots of functionally like a easily accessible current holding, or real time quote (I really hate manual refresh) I think Webull and Robinhood did a great job designing their app and Fidelity should learn from them.

UI is improvement over original app

2022-10-27

UI is improvement but still lacking in functionality compare to the original app. Here is a couple of suggestions:

-The learn section is pointless. Instead that should be a dedicated trade section instead with holdings and watchlist.
- dark mode is much needed
- real time quotes are needed, I should be able to see after hour and premarket pricing like webull or robinhood
- there should be a way for the helpful tips and learning. There a lot and it looks like spam. Most of us don’t need it. We just want fidelity app that doesn’t look like it was created for boomers.

Why do we need this?

2022-11-28

Basically a limited set of offerings from the main Fidelity app with a nicer interface. The main app could use a face lift but I don’t really understand the purpose or value of FidelitySpire. I thought this would have full view but it doesn’t. If you already use the Fidelity app then there is no reason to download this but we can all hope that app gets an interface update to look more like this someday.

An improvement, but still needs work.

2022-12-29

So the UI is so much better. Way cleaner. But users still need more features added. I’m not able to see the performance of all my accounts (only individual accounts). Let users change their main Home Screen. I don’t use the goal function, so let me remove that and place things I do use.

Great start. Needs improvement.

2023-01-30

The fact that Fidelity is taking the steps to make a better app is huge. A lot of companies don’t listen to their customer base and this shows that they’re listening. I love the simplicity of the layout but I agree with the others that the savings and goal features need to be taken it. It’s not useful and clutters FidelitySpire with unneeded info.

One thing that FidelitySpire REALLY needs is streaming real time ticker update and chart updates like Robinhood. Clean FidelitySpire by removing unneeded features (savings and goals) and add in streaming data without having to refresh would be a great step... and make this incredibly competitive as an app.

Still looks 10 years outdated.

2023-03-03

The colors are still too deep and not faded enough. It’s not aesthetic. There’s also too much on a page at a time except for the buy and sell page with the graph. In addition the buttons and sections are too boxy and not rounded enough. Some parts look like html with too much shadow. Do what robinhood and m1 finance have done it’s inviting. Also a big fat trade button on the bottom is very inviting.

I wish I knew about this app sooner

2023-04-01

FidelitySpire is amazing! Way better than the fidelity investments app. It’s great for quick trades, portfolio tracking etc.. the main app is still way more robust. I imagine in time most of the important features from the other app will make it over to Spire.
While FidelitySpire is great it’s still a little under baked. I hope that changes in the near future.

Promising but long way to go

2023-05-03

I use a combination of Mint and Personal Capital to manage my finances. Fidelity Spire sounds like it is meant to replace both but there is a long way to go.

The current app is more of a cross between Robinhood and NerdWallet, so has a long way to go in development.

I must say the user interface is feels nice and intuitive. I am really excited about where this product goes. Hoping for the best

Keep updates rolling!!

2023-06-03

This is such a good app, really working towards Robinhoods functionality! Viewing account holdings per account is one to many steps, just put that on the account page. It is hard to compare the different holdings in many meaningful ways because you can only see percent change in the overview. FidelitySpire has a ton of promise as long as updates continue rolling out for it!

Love Fidelity, unsure about data collection

2023-07-05

If the devs or support read this - I’d love to hear your stance on this. First - I love Fidelity. Second - what does worry me is the iOS privacy report data that shows what data you collect through FidelitySpire . It seems excessive to collect search history and usage data.

Please cut WAY down on the unnecessary info collected if you want to be taken as the holy grail of banking/investment and customer oriented service.

My take: Just cut ALL data collection from ALL of your apps. Only what is absolutely necessary to function.

Otherwise, the need to have privacy and control over one’s personal data will ALWAYS prevail…and you’ll lose the status you have rightfully earned so far. I want you all to succeed. I hope this helps.

Some work to do, but LOVE this direction Fidelity is taking

2023-08-05

Please, please continue to invest your development resources into FidelitySpire instead of the other Fidelity app. The UI is great! And having a money management and budgeting feature set is of great value to many. Fidelity needs a vehicle to attract younger investors and FidelitySpire is a great way to do so. I invest and hold my money with Fidelity because they’ve been around and I trust them more so compared to other banks - I don’t trust these startup or other new investment companies like Robinhood or Acorns. Thank you developers for your hard work - FidelitySpire is an awesome start and I am eager for updates to come!!

Off to a Decent Start

2023-09-06

There is no doubt that when it comes to saving time, Robinhood has all the other investment apps beat. It takes so long for me to view my investments through the other Fidelity app and I’ve considered switching back to Robinhood for my “gambling” portfolio as trades can be processed quick and easy. FidelitySpire is taking a step in the right direction and I’ve already deleted the other Fidelity app from my phone. The UI is simple and so clean, please market this more aggressively and pour more money into making this a solid alternative to Robinhood! All Robinhood has is its UI, I know you can get there Fidelity!

Almost Perfect

2023-10-08

I have been waiting for Fidelity to come out with something similar to beat Robinhood for quite some time. I use active trader pro through fidelity but there’s a few days out of the week I am not home. This is why I had a Robinhood account. I was able to trade on Robinhood while at the mall, work or in the back of the Uber ride! Another reason I kept with Robinhood was that their app is super simple! At the time, I was able to trade with Fidelity’s main app but was not the most functional or ideal move.
I deeply appreciate Fidelity’s direction with FidelitySpire. For people investing with other brokerages, they will soon make the switch. Fidelity is the most reputable and reliable company out there. I love the education/research tools fidelity gives its customers. The learning on demand is perfect for any beginner in investing. WeBull, Robinhood and M1 Finance is starting to worry because now Fidelity (The GOAT) is making better investments in attracting the novice investor and keeping the veteran investor beyond satisfied with their updates/improvements.

User friendly: 9/10
Simplicity: 8/10
Tools: 10/10
Would recommend: 10/10

I like it, a lot

2023-11-08

I’ve had a retirement account and separate investment account with Fidelity for a few years. I’ve been using the regular Fidelity app since the beginning and while the utility of that app is nice, some of the features are buried and the ux is a bit wonky.

This new Fidelity Spire app, however, looks really good. The ux is smooth and intuitive. I’m excited for what it can be. They’re promising to add the features of the regular Fidelity app along with some new features like recurring deposits and billpay. When they do this it will be a top tier feature packed money management app. Cant wait

App We’ve Been Waiting For

2023-12-10

I recently joined Fidelity when I learned my 401k was managed through them. I had been using Robinhood previously and while FidelitySpire itself is great, having to wait until February for electronic tax documents is ridiculous. I originally joined because there were products I could not purchase through RH. The original Fidelity app was ok, not as good as RH, basic things like historical pricing were horrendous, but I stuck with it. Now that they have released Spire, I transferred everything over from RH. You get the UX of Robinhood but with much more. You can see everything in one place (including non Fideilty Accounts) plus the Goals are actually a surprisingly nice benefit. Now that they offer a managed product, Fidelity Go (think 401k but for stocks), for a nominal fee, I am excited about getting into investing and am so happy I don't have to worry about picking stocks anymore. The $100 bonus offer when you open an account and set up reoccurring funding is a nice touch considering any other bank offers way less while forcing you to maintain an unrealistic balance and they make you wait forever to get the bonus. I never leave reviews for apps but FidelitySpire deserves a review and I hope more and more people will get turned on to Spire.

Finally, a potential Robinhood Killer

2024-01-10

I’ve been waiting patiently for FidelitySpire to get updated with trading. The legacy app has a horrible UI that definitely won’t attract the young crowd like myself.

Looking forward to more updates!

One suggestion I would make is to have the trading page be the home screen (with your portfolio chart) just like Robinhood.

Very limited app functionality

2024-11-17

App doesn’t provide any mechanism to assign/links existing accounts to goals, making the usefulness of FidelitySpire quite limited.

For example, I identified retirement as a long term goal, but FidelitySpire doesn’t allow me to link my Fidelity 401k account to the goal, essentially making the goal tracking useless.

Issue linking account

2024-11-17

Can’t link a non-fidelity account. Keep getting an error when entering the one time password both when apple is populating it for me from the text message and when I type it manually.

Still a lot of work to be done

2024-11-17

I like where this appears to be going but it won’t be that useful until you allow people to link external accounts. Also, it doesn’t pick up my 401k despite it being a Fidelity account. Keep improving it guys!

Please add 401k to retirement category

2024-11-17

I have 401k with Fidelity through my company and FidelitySpire picks up the 401k account, but it doesn't categorize it as a retirement account. Can you please allow for this?

Great app

2024-11-17

App with a lot of potential - it is great that Fidelity has created something for someone like me. I only knew them as a company for others. Looking forward to FidelitySpire enhancements.

Just what my finances needed!

2024-11-17

Great app for becoming a smarter saver and investor. Super helpful advice and easy to use tools. All of my Fidelity accounts were there right at log in. Nice work!

Unable to delete linked accounts using app on iPhone which is concerning. This should be a relatively simple task but no editing feature makes it impossible. Should I also be concerned about (Spire) security? Previous feedback to Fidelity went unanswered.
