So I just tried signing in to pay at local this app which has been my go to place for years. Chevron just stays on main screen with options for everything except log in. I finally found a manage account link in this atrocious user interface and signed in. Upon signing in it only gives me option to find local stations but had my address as 0 miles to station. It would not register that I was at the station now. Signed out and trying to sign back in with Face ID and password was a no go. The account is compromised. Set to help me reset password and after ten minutes. I email or text.

Registered new account under my wife’s email but wouldn’t let me continue because Chevron is now only for this app advantage or business credit card payments. Very misleading changes in what used to be a simple app and mobile system. You’ve now lost a multiple year user and customer at this app.

Card I’ve used every time here without a hitch first ask me for a 6 digit pin sent to my phone which I verified no problem, then it asks me for a 4 digit pin that I was never sent nor created so it declined me gas…I exited out and tried again same thing. So finally I shifted that card to my Apple Pay Card and finally no problems nor did it bother me for a single code…ridiculous. This late at night it should work quickly and smoothly especially with the same card I’ve used more times then I have fingers at my neighborhood gas station I use half a dozen times a week with the same card it declined twice. I won’t use Chevron again if continues to give me this issue. Especially since it’s my only choice considering the employees choose to leave every day at/or before 9:00p, must not like making money cuz this is one of the busiest gas stations I know of.

Don’t waste your time. Loved the original version of Chevron, but then recently it said I needed to log in. When I did, it insisted on my phone number instead of my email, tried to get me to agree for this app to send me texts (I didn’t), and then set a default of Apple Pay. That’s not what I wanted, but it would not let me enter my this app account. There is a button for that, but it just sat there doing nothing, so I said, “okay, that account works.” Went to fill up, everything was like before at first, then suddenly asked for my PIN. PIN? What PIN? Apple Pay uses finger or face ID. That was the last straw — too many hurdles, hassles and obstacles just to buy gas. The idea with mobile device payment is to be easier than using a card. Since it’s easier to use the card now, I deleted Chevron and will not use again.

I have never had a problem using the Exxon-Mobil and Shell apps to pay for gas as those respective stations, but I have rarely had success in using the this app app. It seems not to retain my login info, and every time I try to use it it asks for different information. After it asked for a PIN, I memorized the PIN to be able to use it the next time, but it hasn’t again asked for it. One time it said there was a problem processing the payment, but the payment had gone through. Today, while at my usual this app station (not in a remote location), Chevron did not recognize that I was at a this app station! My time is too valuable to waste, and now that I discovered that the station keeps hand sanitizer on a table inside (the station’s pumps NEVER print receipts), I think I will no longer try to use Chevron .

I have not been able to link any of my credit cards to Chevron, not even Apple Pay (Chevron was downloaded from Chevron Store). I always get a “problem processing payment” message each time I try to pay for fuel through Chevron . I uninstalled and reinstalled Chevron , and then it would not accept any payment cards I input. The customer service person I spoke with documented my issues and said they would make a note for the developers to investigate the problem. I am still waiting…
I have now got the generic response from the this app people “contact your financial institutions to resolve this problem”.
I am deleting Chevron because it is clearly not ready for prime time, unlike the competitors’ apps (Exxon and Shell) which have worked seamlessly from the start.

We use this app gas often and recently saw their promo for getting the advantage card and being able to get 55¢ of savings per gallon for the first whatever time frame. The catch is you have to be able to add your new this app advantage credit card to the this app app and pay through Chevron with their credit card. Spoiler alert you can’t. You can add any ole other card you’ve got to your account let no problem but as soon as it’s the advantage card nope. Then it says to contact customer service and they give you the run around and never give you an answer or help add the card to your app.

I give it 2 stars only because it does locate the closest this app station.
I’ve tried paying at Chevron at 4 different stations in 3 different cities and it has never worked. It always says there was a problem processing the payment. I can get out and pay at the pump using the same card that is registered to Chevron and there is no problem. Really it’s just taking up memory space if it’s not working because a smart phone will find the closest this app any way.

No matter if I’m paid in full or have a zero balance; Synchrony Bank and their awful overseas Customer Service Department who rarely speak broken English if English at all decided to require that every transaction I try first must fail then I have to call in and verify the same BS literally EVERY TIME I GET GAS which is in fact, a total PitA! Here’s to hoping this app can wake up and have it’s high quality gas find a high quality financial transactions provider because Synchrony Bank is the huge issue with Chevron and card program. 2 Stars are only there for this app and not for Synchrony. Literally closed my account due to being fed up with them.

I love the concept of a quick fill-up using Chevron ’s mobile pay feature. Everything went smoothly from the GPS navigation to purchasing the gas. However, after I began filling up, $100 was withdrawn from my account for just a $25 tank of gas. It’s been 6 days since the purchase was made and and the rest of the money (still listed as pending on my account) hasn’t been refunded. I love this feature but, due to the large withdrawal amount, I can’t afford to have several hundred dollars withdrawn for gas because I fill up a few times a month.

Great UI and useful settings. Just wish there was a way to CHOOSE when the 45sec begins to start pumping because I didn’t make it on time as this was my first use of Chevron . It canceled on me and it took forever to restart the process to pump at my station. Also do you guys have any plan to improve some of your gas station pumps ? Some are bad and don’t even work to use Apple Pay especially the one on Rinaldi & Balboa in Granada Hills. And the other on Soledad & McBean in Santa Clarita 🙏🏼 to name a few. Please consider! Thank you

I understand that “we plan to add more payment methods in the future” but I wish this app would specifically put in Chevron description or somewhere confirming to us that Apple Pay support is indeed in the works. And also maybe a timeline of when because it’s 2020 and we never got it in 2019 like lots of the review answers said we would. I’ve actually noticed that the notice of new payment methods coming in the future has been removed from the add a payment method setup screen now.

Also a rewards program like those of your competitors would be nice without having to get a credit card through you. I drive past a this app every time I need gas to go to a competitor that has a more user friendly app, rewards program, and Apple Pay support. Add those and I’ll quit wasting gas to get gas.

I was using Chevron on my iPhone and I liked having the digital receipts, but I could not get the Apple Watch version to work properly. The first time I tried it, Chevron was stuck on searching for stations when I was literally at the gas pump. Next time I tried it, I was told to sign in so I deleted it from my watch. Kept using Chevron on my phone though until one day on the way to my usual station, I was informed to sign in again. It took longer for me to look up my password to sign in than to just get my card out and use it. Apps that frequently force me to sign in are too inefficient for me so I finally deleted Chevron and reverted to using my card instead. Let me know when I won’t be required to sign in so much and I will try Chevron again.

I love the idea of paying for gas through Chevron ; however, the Synchrony portion of the payment system is greatly flawed. It will not take me to the payment system. When the cards first got converted, it told me I had a zero balance and then charged me a late fee for not paying. Now, I cannot access my balance again to check for payment. I am very app savvy so this glitch is very frustrating. Fix it, please, or I will be forced to use Shell or Exxon.

I love Chevron especially when I’m trying to do contact less transactions. However about a month ago all of a sudden at a pump I was asked for my pin number on Chevron . Having no idea what that was, I contacted customer service toll-free number and they also were unaware of the required pin number. A case was established… Then I never heard back. To this day I am unable to use Chevron unless I have a pin number. Furthermore in my travels within California many station managers are unaware of Chevron. And one location in San Diego will not give me the this app card gas price even though my this app card is on my this app app! 🤔

Purchasing gas at the pump from the Apple Watch is just gravy. Meanwhile, the mobile app works just fine, I’ve had no issues, and the transactions show up normally.

The only glitch I’ve seen is the watch app doesn’t always refresh as quickly as it should, sometimes have to force quit Chevron and re-launch it before using it. Otherwise, it has worked well, and I recommend it.

This was so quick and easy. First time experience was awesome. Let’s see if it will continue. The only thing I didn’t see changed was the price per gallon. I’m looking to save at the pump, but If I’m still paying the same price per gallon using the card. I will go back to using cash to get the savings.

I like the this app gasoline for my car and that is why I go often to this app gas stations..
But to make my visits easier and smoother I downloaded the mobile app .. After completing all steps when I go to link my Citi bank master card it says a error message and I can’t link the credit card to app..
I called this app customer service many times and they made a case for my complaint, but until now no one called me from customer service or technical team regarding it.. I called Citi bank and they said my card is good .. I have linked my card to many other apps online all work good..
I can’t understand what is happening with this app app and they don’t care about solving it or come with an answer to the complaint...

Chevron does not work for me at all. When I pull into a this app station, select the pump to authorize, then select purchase gas it gives me a message that something went wrong. Have contacted this app support which stated they would be contacting me to resolve the issue. But no one has contacted me. Apparently Chevron was not tested very well! I have no issues using this app competitors apps on my iPhone XR.

There are two features on the home screen. 1. “Find the closest this app station.” 2. “Pay with the this app app. The second feature is greyed out and will not allow payment with Chevron . No issues with my this app account & credit card customer service has no idea what the problem is. Reloaded app with no success.

Chevron has changed my fuel-up experience. I have, until now, loathed getting gas and now it is super convenient, more COVID safe, great UI, easy to use etc. it’s the best. I didn’t use this app very much at all before I downloaded this and now I’m always searching for the closest this app when I need to fuel up and I don’t wait until I’m on Empty before doing it.

Of the apps I have downloaded, this by far was one of the most useless ones. With my hopes immediately crumbled upon first opening Chevron , disappointment flooded over me. Never have seen an app so disconnected from the general public. I strongly advise all those who think downloading might be beneficial to your this app experience to steer clear. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Chevron says the station has the mobile pay feature. You drive there and try to use the feature and it doesn’t work. Why advertise ON Chevron that the mobile pay feature is available at the station if it really isn’t?! Remove the feature from the station available features section then.

Four-digit PIN for account protection is almost no protection. Then, situation is made worse by only allowing PayPal and this app’s own credit cards.

Please enable Apple Pay and it’s proven tokenization tech that adds a level of security and convenience that not even chip-and-PIN can match. Can’t even use a this app-branded gift card to take advantage of cash pricing.

Great as a fueling locator but leaves much to be desired as a convenient - and SECURE - payment method.

Went Through all the headache of downloading and installing Chevron only to find out that when I pull up to your gas stations the stations don't accept the mobile pay app option. But all the local Exxon mobile stations work seamlessly with their Exxon app and include Apple Pay etc. And outside vendor credit cards.

You just wasted my time installing an app and filling out all the forms only to find that it doesn't do what it's supposed to do. Come on guys get your act together

I have been using other company’s app such as Exon and shell they have some kind of discount program and they have multiple payment method most important is they have apply pay and Samsung pay too. On the other hand this app app offer only this app Card and Paypal payment method which is very nothing.
As an employee working at the Texaco station I tried to off my customers but as soon as they see limited payment methods they refused to do it which I completely understand cuz not every one has Paypal account or this app Texaco rewards card. I think we should fix this issue as soon as possible.

The most useful function of Chevron for me would be to see all this app gas stations and their gas prices on a map. Having an estimated amount of gas spent to get to a station considering current traffic conditions would be fantastic. Currently app is almost useless for me as I can see more information i need in google maps.

I tried using the new app but it’s a bit confusing to me, compared to their previous app, since it doesn’t look like there is a method to make a payment TO your this app card.
If they can have the same features on this new app, like they do on the previous app, I would be more inclined to use the new one.

Chevron works well and is easy to use. Unfortunately the discount normally applied when using the plastic this app card does not activate even with the application linked to the this app card. Other fuel sources are offering up to 25 cents per gallon discounts for using a smart phone app to pay.

Great app for if you don’t have a this app card and don’t mind paying the extra cost with a non this app credit/debit card or pay pal. But tying the this app card to it, this app card is supposed to give the discount as if paying cash, does not apply discount. Works as a normal credit card.

I think Chevron is okay. Not easy to use as the original app . To check your credit card balance you have to go through different steps to reach your this app account. Why can’t you develop a simple app just for seeing and paying your card rather than this way. Thanks

Do I get a discount Every time I use Chevron for filling up? I normally use BP because I automatically get 5 cents off every Gallon. I have the this app App now to use. I am wanting to see how much I will save each time I get fuel please? Thank you!

Worked well for me at the Houston station I tried this at. Very similar to Exxon’s however I will say there needs to be more payment options such as Apple Pay and a nationwide launch.

Please add these ASAP. Thanks. this app now tells my they are adding Apple Pay. We need to be able to pay by the Apple Watch also.
