Bugs

2024-07-21

App doesn’t recognize digital input at test 22.

Isn’t working

2024-07-17

Love the idea but it isn’t working with my airpods. Is this really a WHO product? Disappointing.

Crash

2024-07-21

Can not use it, not even once. Crashes every single time.

Does not work!

2024-07-21

Just freezes on the 8th question with no sound

Will not work.

2024-07-21

hearWHO will not recognize when earbuds are connected with an iPhone 13 so it’s useless.

App won’t connect to my AirPods

2024-07-21

I can only hear hearWHO when I tap my earphone to start music, then I get music and thd instrutions. Otherwise it’s dead silence.

Does not work at all

2024-07-21

Required to type in numbers you hear in your earbuds. Spews out only static white noise, not numbers, so totally useless.

Worthless. Won’t recognize earbuds

2024-07-21

Won’t recognize that earbuds are paired, even though the obviously are. Tried multiple times with same result. Worthless. I deleted it.

Doesn't work

2024-07-21

Using my MacBook Air, hearWHO would not recognize my headphones not AirPods even though each was definitely connected and tested to work before running hearWHO . Uninstalled.

Doesn’t see headphones

2024-07-21

I tried Beats and another headset and hearWHO did not recognize either one no matter how many times and in what sequence I connected and disconnected and opened and closed hearWHO . This renders it virtually useless.

Doesn’t work

2024-07-21

All I get is white noise, no digits regardless of volume. Had a friend test it to make sure I wasn’t deaf, she got same result. Downloaded the pro version too, it doesn’t go past headphone icon- no arrows to move on. I’m sad because I am a Speech-Language Pathologist and Better Speech & Hearing month is coming up in May! Could be a great tool...

Utterly Useless

2024-07-21

I had high hopes for hearWHO but it's useless. hearWHO does not start the test because it could not detect my headphones that are paired with my phone (Bose Bluetooth headphones. They are working perfectly). I only got through the first step of determining that the background noise level is good for the test.

Doesn’t recognize earphones

2024-07-21

hearWHO doesn’t recognize that my earphones or earbuds are plugged in or paired. Useless

Not recognizing any headphones

2024-07-17

hearWHO has stopped recognizing any set of headphones I connect.

White noise

2024-07-17

The White noise is heavy-handed and the UK English is too much of an accent making it hard to focus. Scored 48 on both times.😡

It doesn’t work

2024-07-21

As i go to the “use headphones “ step, the application stops working.

Cannot finish test due to not hear anything

2024-07-21

I use AirPods like 6hrs a day. hearWHO falls in total silence after Test 8. The intro part works fine. And I got only 27 points. I don’t think my hearing can be that bad. (or Do I ?)

Works well

2024-07-17

Works well.

Consistent results

2024-07-17

I have strong permanent hogh frequency tinitus and tested it twice, first at lower volume of about 2/3rds maximum and then at 50% volume. Both times using good Sennheiser Momentum wired over-ears headphones, the result was exactly the same 76%.
hearWHO is a great companion to app Hearing Test & Ear Age Test v1.8, also available in hearWHO store, that will test you like in a professional audiometry test, also quite accurate.

Easy and worked fine

2024-07-21

App was easy to use, and worked fine.

Features

Even if your results are in the positive range but you have concerns about your hearing, we encourage you to seek a complete hearing evaluation performed by a certified service provider / medical professional.

If your result from using hearWHO was not favourable, we strongly recommend you obtain a complete hearing evaluation by a certified service provider / medical professional to determine your exact hearing status.

All people should check their hearing from time to time, especially those who are at a higher risk of hearing loss such as adults above 50 years, those working in noisy places, those listening to music at high volumes for long periods of time and those experiencing ear problems.

The results we provide are intended as a first step in testing your hearing.

Whilst the test has a reasonable degree of accuracy, it is only intended as a screening test, with a small proportion of cases that may be incorrectly classified.

The accuracy of your test results will depend on the type of headphones you use, as well as the ambient noise level.

The WHO and hearX Group will not be held responsible or liable for any results that are incorrect or for your use of the application.

Services for early identification and intervention should be made available through the health system.

Please always seek advice from a medical professional.

hearWHO is only intended for use by persons 16 years of age and above.

The test is not intended to be used for children and will not provide reliable results in such cases.

A visit to a certified service provider can assist in differentiating between different types of hearing problems.

Hearing loss may be caused by obstruction of the outer ear canal from wax, fluid or changes in the structure or function of the middle ear system, and changes in function of the nervous system.

Some of these hearing problems can be treated whilst others may be permanent and may need assistive devices.
