Relying on taking the bus is a hassle in itself, to have to rely on BlacksburgTransit on top of that is nearly impossible. Can you please just have the live map and routes even show up atleast half the time? BlacksburgTransit is booty. Im honestly surprised that this has been developed and then redeveloped into a “better” app that is this. Sheeeeesh.

Update: 2 years later BlacksburgTransit is still so bad. If students helped build BlacksburgTransit they should not get degrees. Take your keyboard and smash it.

Dont have six trips shown as “future” trips when you only show one trip of times when you rotate through them.

App works great! .. when it works. Recently BlacksburgTransit consistently crashes as soon as I go to open it. I tried resetting my phone as well as deleting BlacksburgTransit and reinstalling it, neither worked after multiple tries. This caused inconvenience while I was on campus trying to get back to my apartment.

So far BlacksburgTransit is pretty good. It shows times and the bus stops but I wish it would also tell me the bus number so I would know if I’m on the right or wrong bus since I’ve gotten on the wrong bus a couple of times since I try going to a certain rest but then find that I got on the wrong one just because it showed up at the same time another bus was supposed to show up.

You should make the “Filter Results by Stop” section bigger so user can see the above and below option.

Very streamlined compared to old app just from looking at the UI. It looks like it will do everything it’s supposed to do and the data appears accurate. The addition of an alerts section is welcomed

Hardly ever updates bus positions in real time, buses consistently show up minutes early from projected time, when waiting for the next bus cause you missed the one that came early you won’t know that the next bus is going to be extra late until you’ve already waited 15 minutes expecting for that later bus to come then. Annoying to use, somewhat helpful to know approximate times, hence the 1 star.

This new app is far faster and simpler than the old versions and seems to include most of the functionality of their website.

BlacksburgTransit is so buggy that it cannot be used. It makes scheduling rides very difficult. With a town that has access to a university like Virginia Tech, it is surprising that they have not reached out to tech for technical support and development

BlacksburgTransit operates as if it was made by children. Most of the times I open BlacksburgTransit , none of the routes show up as active. I’m better off using google maps which is almost equally unreliable. From an institution such as Virginia Tech, this is embarrassing. It’s ridiculous that such an integral aspect of transportation on campus is almost unusable because of the shortcuts taken in developing BlacksburgTransit.

It would be helpful if direction arrows were placed on the bus icons so that we know what part of the route the bus is on, some busses go up and down the same road on their route so it’s hard to tell.

It’s okay, but needs to somehow show the direction the buses are traveling. It’s otherwise impossible to know if a bus is moving away from where you want to go or towards. Also, the schedules aren’t usually correct.

I swear half the time BlacksburgTransit doesn’t show where the buses are on the live map. It is much better than their last app, but that isn’t saying a lot. I guess it’s difficult to make a “good” app for an already atrocious public transportation system.

BlacksburgTransit used to work perfectly for me! but once i got back this semester it wouldn’t stop crashing. I have redownloaded it and have restarted my phone many times.

I just switched from the old app and the main thing I used it for is now gone.

I want to be able to look at the times buses come for a given stop, but BlacksburgTransit crashes when I click on “View Stop Schedule”.

To reproduce:
1) Select Person icon in bottom right
2) Select red dot for the stop
3) Select (i) button
4) Tap “View Stop Schedule
5) App crashes

I have the most recent version of iOS. Hope you fix this.

Also it's important to view schedule by stop. The old version makes it very convenient but I don't know why not anymore in the new version

BlacksburgTransit was great and useful when it worked. Now its complete junk i do not recommend anyone use BlacksburgTransit unless they have all day to spare. Ive learned until Virginia Tech fixes their app its more efficient to just walk everywhere.

BlacksburgTransit is better than the last one but how can you promote BlacksburgTransit so much when it doesn't even show the busses sometimes,the main reason I use BlacksburgTransit .

Much better app overall now. Just needs another update or two to fix some small stuff.

Straight up broken. Won’t show where buses are. Won’t let you schedule a trip. It now just works as a crappy location tracker. All those ads on the sides of the buses to promote BlacksburgTransit , but nothing to maintain it.

About 2/3 times I try to check the bus routes it fails to load any data, which makes 90% of BlacksburgTransit worthless.

sometimes it just doesn’t work/load at all, or zooms all the way out of the route you were looking at and goes to a different country.

This makes BlacksburgTransit useless to me. Better to use the website or call BT directly if you’re on the go and are not familiar with routes.
