Unsafe Ride & No Customer Support

Don’t use these if you’re actually trying to get somewhere! What they don’t tell you when you first try to use the scooter is that you have to park it at specific areas only, or get charged a penalty fee (you get to find out about this clause when you’re already ready to park). The scooters are also poorly made.

So I took this out on a ride, and as soon as I got on, the back wheel started wobbling. I was uncertain about this but already got charged the $1 startup fee so I tried to still use it. It continued to do this anytime I went past 5mph. I went on a rickety ride for about 1 mile while the scooter was clattering away when I realized the back wheel was practically falling off! I decided to end the ride there because it was starting to become unsafe. This is when I found out about the parking situation. There were no designated parking spots nearby, and I was getting charged $0.87 a min so walking the dangerous scooter for 1 mile didn’t make any sense. I got charged a $35 parking fee even though I put it safely on the sidewalk out of the way of anyone.

When I went to dispute it to customer service, they only refunded me $15 instead of the full price, with the justification that “their scooter could have been vandalized”. This company clearly cares more about their wallet than your safety.

New to me, concerned citizen

I seen two people by the scooters sitting on the curb when I’m in care to be hurt sitting on the sidewalk, both had helmets on. Anyway I was at work across the street in downtown Honolulu. So I kind of kept looking at them wondering what was going on, when an ambulance showed up and appeared to be checking out one of them. So I figured they were all right and eventually I looked back out there and the ambulance is gone, along with the injured scooter writer and companion. So people are starting to gather around and walking up the streets and checking out the scooters they were alone by themselves on the sidewalk. So I thought somebody’s going to steal him, so I decided to move them out of The sidewalk in peoples way. But want to pick it up it said stop something something about theft and vandalism, so I put it down and look for a number or someway to let them know that it was safer where it was. But there is nothing on the moped except the QRCode. And that’s how I got here, still no number or no way to get to the rental company or anything else. I tried calling the police station but it was closed anyway seems like these people should put some numbers on it or someway to get a hold of them or something. That’s all you had to say

Fun to ride; terrible app and customer service

My daughter and I rented the scooters on vacation. A bit rickety, but overall fun to ride. We checked the map on GoX , but when it came time to return them, none of the locations had signage, other scooters, or any way to know for sure we were at the right spot. We did discover a photo after several attempts to ensure we were leaving them in the correct location. Even the photo didn’t designate exactly where to park them, just showed a photo of a business. Later, we received a text that we had we ended the ride before we parked in the correct location and my card was charged $20. Makes no sense. We ended the ride at the location on the map, but moved the scooter a couple of feet so it would be in a safer spot. We have reached out via chat, as there is no way to call and speak to a human. They are not responding. GoX offers no means of removing form of payment, as I want my debit card off the account. There were also other things that are glitchy about GoX and what happened when we stopped to check the map, but this review is already too long. Don’t waste your time or money, unless you are ok with being frustrated and practically robbed.

Parking nightmare solved!

Heading to the MN State Fair, a friend suggested we use the Go X app and save ourselves $40 in parking by parking our car about a mile away and finding some Go X bikes to ride to the entrance to the fair. We were a little skeptical, but downloaded GoX anyway. Parking at the fair is usually stressful and costly, and our day today included neither of those words. GoX was easy to install and set up a profile/payment option, and the bikes worked great! The best part was we didnt have to find a docking station, we just dropped them right next to the sidewalk and walked across the street to the entrance.(I think everyone else was jealous). Upon leaving the fair, we found a bike and a scooter to ride back to our car a mile away. The scooter was really fun! We will definitely be recommending GoX to friends looking to save money on parking and to those just looking to have a fun activity to do!

GREAT RIDE, LOTS OF FUN!!!!

Okay so, the scooters themselves are TONS OF FUN. My and a couple of friends were riding them around for a while today after school and LOVED them. Plus, they looked cool and so thought everyone else.

However, before we were able to have the fun we did, I had ran into a few issues. First, I payed for the scooter (VERY SMOOTH AND EASY TRANSACTION) and went about my way with the scooter. It didn’t seem to be working, my friend mentioned that I had to push off. So I tried that and it still wasn’t working. Afterwards we realized there was damage done to the back end of it (I understand that it wasn’t your fault and that someone before was being stupid… it was just inconvenient) and I guess that was more than likely the issue. I had already payed for it though…. so I messaged somebody by from Go X (EXTREMELY REASSURING AND CALM TEXTING) and they DID give me a FULL REFUND and apologized for the inconvenience, but this did take 2 HOURS after I had texted to get a response.

Community service.

Go X does more than rent customers scooters out, they help people out. Offer discount program for commuters. Customers service is over the standard reputable, they respond as fast as they can and that’s not an hour or so. It’s under 30 mins or less. Average for me it’s 3-7 minute they respond with concern, check to make sure I’m ok, offer what they can do for me. Beyond corporation metaphor image, they take humanity actions. They help out. Scooters always get maintained, spite of sour lime, I have almost gotten run over by cars and bus few times, almost crash into wall because lime is behind with maintenance. I am proud of their company spread across the world. But maintenance here in America....I don’t know. I never had problem with Go X. I wonder why I love Go Xs now? Sign up with Go X. You won’t regret it. Make sure you got something in your pocket and they will provide you excellent service you need.

Highlight of Visit to SF

These scooters freaking rock! I was on a family vacation in San Francisco when I saw their scooters in Fisherman’s Wharf. It was next to Blazing Saddles bike shop. I never seen 3 wheel vehicle like that before so out of curiosity I decided to try it. I chose the most basic package thinking I would just try it for 15-20 min... And oh man. I switched to a daily package and went around SF on this thing. This scooter is a work of ART. I was flying through the city, it truly felt like snowboarding. I liked it so much, I came back the following day and got a day pass once again. Honestly, I would buy one for personal use but the closest thing I found online was cycleboard that costs $1500. Too much. Anyways, thank you Go X. Please bring these to New Jersey. We not only want them, we need them!!!

Scooter rip off

I’m very aggravated! Because as fun as the scooters are I’ve had multiple problems with them! I’ve rode the scooters 3 times to be exact the first time it was me and my bf it was night time and everything went well so we tried it again a couple weeks later! This is where the problems begin I was charged for scooters that never worked so I wrote the company which never gave me a discount and it was unfair! The next time was me and a friend we went thru 3 scooters trying to find out which one work one was dead and they still charge us one had a flat tire and the one that I did finally ride went out on me without warning the battery went dead that god I drove my car to the scooter location! I just dong think it’s fair for them to charge u for scooters that are messed up they should be getting them and making sure they are ok and tested but they are just putting the broken ones out just so that u can still get charged! All in all fun but big rip off because it’s no warning

Total Let Down

There are so many negatives to this product.
There is virtually no customer service reps
The scooter lasted 1 hour (my husband and I paid for a whole day), and GoX said we had 6 miles worth of battery. So we just got on GoX and saw where the nearest drop off and pickup location was. We pushed the scooter there. it was a 25 minute walk in the sun. When we got to the hotel they said they used to have the scooters but haven’t for a while. So then we just stopped at a gas station and stood in the shade and called a cab. While waiting on the cab a man in a black truck pulled up and said he had been tracking the scooters. So then he took our scooters and said he couldn’t give us a ride to the nearest location but we could go to one and pick a new scooter. We asked why the scooters died when GoX showed plenty of time left. He said you can’t go by that. So they are not reliable and are the worst form of travel. Walking without the scooter would have been much better

Best for tourists and joyriders

This whole idea will work better for tourists, not commuters. This is because the scooters are most easily found by sight, due to their concentration in high foot traffic areas. Just unlock the one in front of you and you’re GTG.

But don’t bother using the map to find an isolated one in a low-traffic area, because it isn’t likely to actually be there where it’s accessible, and low on juice if it is. You’ll end up walking more than if you’d just done that in the first place.

There’s an option to take photos at the end of the ride to facilitate finding it, but I have yet to see such a photo or a “see photo” button when I’m trying to find it.

An affordable work out is the best work out!

Had a great day, with the convenience of the Go X Bike I could go every where I wanted to without the hassle, gas, and effect on the environment. While also getting a great work out and spending time with my family. Great idea guys, my only suggestion would be providing a more comfortable seat for the rider. After a while, as a female it really does take a toll on you. Also providing more seat adjustments for us shorter riders for a more comfortable and stress free trip. As a little side idea regarding the basket provided in the bike, leaving access of bungee cords to hold your water bottle and/or other personal items to allow for more secure storage while riding about.

Best app ever invented

I’m usually a very harsh critic and give very few positive reviews. But I have to say that the Go X app is the greatest software ever invented. Facebook doesn’t stand a chance. But I have to say it didn’t always start this way. GoX used to be really terrible and very buggy. It was basically unusable. But all of a sudden the bugs just started disappearing and underneath blossomed a beautiful flower. I called Go X headquarters to find out what it was they did. They told me that they hired a modest, humble, but good looking programmer, named Edgar. I was awestruck. Now my life will never be the same. Thank you Edgar. You are my salvation. You have made the Go X a better safer place because in this mad world.

Confusing start &pause?

So there is a standby mode for going into a store and coming back out keeping the scooter from being taken by someone else. After bringing the scooter back online I can’t ever seem to get it to activate the throttle properly ... sometimes I’ve gotten a message instructing me to tap the power button twice I bring it out of a sleep mode... anyway the best plan of action seems to be to restart the entire ride... other then that I really enjoy having the option to hope on and go fairly fast too. The older models seem to have more pickup then the newer ones.
Anyway thanks for blessing San Diego

Was overcharged.

I rode the go x scooter and everything was going great until I accidentally swiped that I was done.. with no confirmation or even a warning that I was outside of the parking zone after the ride was already over I got a notification saying that I could be charged up to $300 for an impoundment fee if picked up by the police. I immediately tried to pay for the scooter to work again and it said scooter unavailable. With the scooters brakes on I pushed it to the nearby parking area 2 blocks down while the whole time the scooter said “please stop moving the scooter video recording is enabled and we will call the police if you continue to move it” in 90° heat I pushed it 2 blocks down, took a picture of the scooter properly parked and was still charged $20 for a parking fee making it $50 for 30 minutes. I tried reaching out to support and they are impossible to get ahold of.

Terrible experience

My girlfriend and I rode these scooters in Honolulu and had the worst experience. We attempted to ride just barely over a mile away. After a long ride (my scooter took about 15-20 seconds to accelerate to 15 mph) we had to turn all the way back around and head back to where we came because there was nowhere else to park our scooters. All the parking stations were all next to eachother, which to me, doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. We were threatened with fines if we left our scooters so we had to ride our scooters all the way back. This ended up costing us about $40 EACH. We have multiple other scooter companies back home that we have never experienced these kinds of issues with. The scooters were banged up and my was missing a couple parts. Morning was ruined and we didn’t exactly have 80 dollars to throw away while on vacation.

Charger Area of Improvement

Go X is just fantastic as a user but being a charger its not a easy, practical and amazing. Yellow and red Go Xs are virtually nonexistent, there is no way finding any of them and green ones ($5 and $6 dollars) sometimes get repetitive and leave chargers wanting more income.

There should definitely be a kind of blog or platform for chargers (led by expert Go X charger community managers) in which active veteran or newbie chargers share their experiences, tips and concerns and they all, with the support of Go X CM could contribute with their sharing and collaborative support to generating charger best practices to keep charger satisfaction, retention and attraction at top levels.

Not a good app

I am at Daytona Beach and GoX is trying to charge me $60-$300 for their mistake of not being able to locate their scooter properly. GoX was being glitchy and would not show us on the map where we actually were. This caused them to believe that I didn't park the scooter in a designated area, which I definitely did. I have used GoX a couple times now and I have had issues with the scooters everytime. The only reason I keep using these is because they are the only ones in the area. They are damaged scooters, the batteries on most are not accurate, and if the scooter stops working on you (which has happened many times in the past), they still expect you to take the scooter somehow to a designated parking area that might be as far as a mile or two away. I will NOT be going through go x for any rentals ever again.

By

Yikes.

Not sure how this has 4.9/5 stars. The scooters are almost never in the locations as they appear on the map and a lot pop up ON my local 65 mph 4 lane freeway, per GoX .
Without exaggeration, I spent over an hour driving around to find one of these scooters. After driving to 5 locations, I had found that two appeared to have scooters. In both situations, the scooters were being hoarded (not charging) and on personal property.
I understand getting inventory stolen would be a difficult thing to track for a company like this but something’s got to be done.

Go X scooter rental

Fun, easy, convenient, affordable, what else do I need to say. I was in town (Indianapolis) for a 3 night stay while my wife was attending a seminar at the crown plaza union station. We drove our own vehicle however using the Go X scooter almost immediately became my choice of transportation for the entire stay. I cannot say enough about your scooters. I felt safe and they were extremely easy to get the hang. Thank you for a fun aspect of our trip I that I never imagined!! I will use again most certainly any time I’m in an area that has your scooters.

If your boyfriend rides a scooter, you have a girlfriend...

Just kidding! When I first saw people riding these things, I had doubts about I’d ever give one a shot for fears my wife might leave me for a millennial, taking both my motorcycle and my manhood in the divorce. Then one day I gave Go X a try - and almost instantly I realized that the scooter had really just been a metaphor for my brief and misguided childhood! After riding Go X only TWO TIMES, I was doing curb-jumps with the wind in my hair and a belly-full of newly prescribed cocktail of Cymbalta and generic whiskey, and a newly-found sense of euphoric bliss (although I’m not sure if that’s from the scooter or the meds).

Thank you, Go X, for giving me back my childhood for a fraction of the price of uninsured electro-shock therapy!

Update: It seems my wife has actually seen me riding a Go X and has decided to leave me for a a man-bun wearing 25 year old network engineer from Seattle - but who cares!

5% battery FOR LIFE!

Awesome Cruise

I’m not usually the one who leaves reviews, but after using one of those 3 wheeled bad boys for a cruise i had to give a shoutout!!! I always appreciate companies who use their innovative resources to stay ahead of the curb and to stand out. In a city like SF that is flushed with the same scooters, just a different sticker, Go X provides us with something different. The scooter is awesome to drive around and GoX gives you some extra features! My girl was even able to cruise with her heels on!!! Can’t wait to be able to cruise on these bad boys in NYC!

Save your money don’t ride this

Don’t ride theses they are very unsafe I’ve ridden this and honestly I felt my life was on the edge and this no edge you want to ride and also it doesn’t stop your ride when it’s done it’s quick enough to charge you ahead of time but it’s it quick enough to save you from being broke cuz it charged you twice when you pass your 42:00 min drive honestly I didn’t not have a successful ride I liked the deal of 6.99 for the 42:00 which you can’t beat but the sturdiness of the ride i wish I could of reserve my transaction which I’m gonna report to my bank that I had a unsuccessful transaction and my feet and body was in danger throughout the whole trip save your money and don’t ride these triple wheel scooters I’ll still be searching for a better trip to roam the city and world 🗺

By

Love the 3 wheels

What makes Go X differ is it’s 3 wheeled scooters that give a different riding experience. I’ve tried it in San Francisco and been using it whenever I travel back in the city for work. I use it as an alternative for commute as it’s so convenient. I also love the fact that they partner with locations to make their scooters more organize on the side of empowering local businesses. I support this app fully and keep growing successfully!

By

On the fence

Live the scooters as they’re very heavy duty, fast and have a great battery life. Downside is having to take it to a designated location to drop it off or get charged an unreasonable fee for leaving it at your current location. In my case, I had the scooter the whole day stopping in and out of restaurants. I couldn’t lock it so the only option is to leave it running and chance that nobody takes it or to cancel the ride and lay the extortion fee. This needs to be addressed if you want to make it in the highly competitive shared ride world. PS, I found a Lime across the street and finished my day with that.

By

Avoid; NOT FOR LOCALS

WHAT THEY DON’T TELL YOU:
Scooter (this was one of the 2-wheeled ones) runs in crippled (“normal“) mode until you’re about ready to kick it to the curb and go to lock it, at which point you discover a button (in GoX ) to switch it to “X-mode”, at which point it becomes dramatically more usable and ALMOST as fast as the Scoot you took half an hour earlier.
Must park in designated spots or risk $8 (!!!) penalty! Said spots turn out to be tourist hangouts so no wonder. Obviously NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE.
There’s no way to complain about hardware problems, so no wonder the steering was screwed up and the accelerator would cause the thing to try and take off on you all by itself.

By

Coolest scooter I’ve ever ridden

First time riding a 3-wheel scooter and they were super fun since it is faster and safer than 2-wheel scooters from Lime, Bird or Skip!! They also offer $7 for 42 mins and $30 for whole day so my friends and I grabbed 3 scooters and toured around the city basically from sf downtown to Golden Gate Bridge from morning to late afternoon. This is definitely the coolest scooter company I have seen so far in the Bay Area. Gotta go back to try them again

By

I’m addicted

I tried GoX several times this week, like I can’t stop using it. Whenever I want to go to the convenient store around the corner, or to the park in the early morning, I always come to use GoX. To this point, I think I just make up excuses to go around on the scooter more than I actually need it

By

Not down

You have to park the scooters in a specific place. It’s not made clear so i just hopped off and finished my ride. I didn’t know until some extra charges show up on my card. They had me worried someone had gotten my info, but nah, it’s just their business model.

It’s a trap to make you ride the scooter longer and charge you “operational fee’s” for something that wasn’t made clear to begin with. Y’all need to handle that.

I get that scooters are a new transport option and that stuff needs to get smoothed out but this one feels sneaky and there’s just way more options out there for this to slide.

By

I wish there were zero star options

This makes me miss Lime scooters. We struck out on every single scooter we found, all with no battery left apparently. (Which this sub par app only tells you once you’ve gone entirely through trying to reserve.) And if it tells you there’s 9 scooters somewhere, don’t be surprised when there’s one, or maybe none.... and the one present is dead.
We also had the pleasure of seeing someone pick up several of them in a truck... and then try to race through a yellow light with a pile of unsecured scooters in the truck bed... hitting a bump, scooters flying...

This company is a no from me.

Great!

Everyone should keep this application on their own phones. I swear this one is so great for its benefits, another features that I can't forget to mention is that it's so easy to use so you don't need to spend a lot of time trying to get used to the interface.

By

Small print

After seeing the scooters pop-up on the same block as my Studio space in San Francisco, I decided to download GoX . I realize that most people don’t read the “privacy” notice; nevertheless, I do. GoX requires you to share your cell phone number ,in order to join; they offer a link to the privacy notice, but oddly enough it doesn’t work. I found that suspicious and odd. Before joining, I’d like to be able to learn what information,or other privacy data, I might be allowing them to share.

has everything you want

Perfect for a chill night out

The fee sometimes makes me think twice before renting a scooter, but well, life is too short to not enjoy a chill night going around the city with your headphones on, right? going by cars can’t give you this vibe. Just try it out to know what I’m talking about.

Do not rent these scooters they are not in good condition and they take your money for a whole lot of hidden fees that was not in the agreement my experience with this scooter company was despicable and horrible the take my off your card for authentication to verify fraud.what is that? The money was supposed to be back after 1 business day it's been 6 business days and I still have not received my money.if u want to ride a scooter while down in New Orleans rent from a local scooter company not someone that is located way in California sitting behind a desk and authorizing illegal transactions that was not a part of the agreement...I recommend you never rent from this company Gox....

This was beyond disappointing. It is extremely expensive to even go 1 mile. The insturctions to start it weren't very helpful. It took us over 5 min to actually figure out how to turn it on. My back brake didn't work, only my front which is dangerous in traffic in an area with pedestrians. The recovery fee is not explained well. It is difficult to find a parking location and you can't even navigate in the app. When using Google maps to navigate to the "nearest parking location" my phone fell out of the little cupholder on the handle bar into the street.

Austin Salzer   2 years ago

Took a ride with 4 friends. We all dropped off scooters in the exact same area. I was charged a $25 fee for leaving outside parking zone. Also took a photo before I walked away, so I can prove this. Please email me immediately so I can get a refund. Am20.salzer@redacted
