🏷️ About:
Riding the bus in Milwaukee has never been easier thanks to Ride MCTS – Milwaukee County Transit System’s official mobile ticketing and trip planning app. No cash, no schedule, no problems, just find the nearest bus, buy your fare and get on board all from the app.
I’m not sure why one would think to look under passengers to select the ticket type when you’re already on the purchase page. Also, it didn’t take the commuter check card entered with error message “invalid merchant id” with no way to fix. Ended up just paying with my personal Apple pay since I’d already spent enough time trying to figure this out.
Finally, milwaukee is a wonderfully diverse city, could we have some non-white illustrated people please? Thanks!
Needs a Q&A!

The purchases of the daily pass and the 90 minutes ticket should be easy and not be hidden away. After spending 15 minutes trying to find the the 90 minutes ticket on RideMCTS , I had to call MCTS to walk me through the steps to change from a day pass to the 90 minutes ticket. RideMCTS is not user friendly and intuitive. There is NO Q&A about how to use RideMCTS like purchasing a 90 minute ticket or the day pass. The purpose of the bus animation. I had a female bus driver badgering me about the bus animation and she was rude. The bus animation should come on everytime the user access RideMCTS when it is a day pass. RideMCTS does not say anything about tapping on the transfer link to show the bus animation to the driver. RideMCTS should come with instructions to inform the user how to use the features. MCTS video promo was useless and the bus drivers are not helpful! A Q&A would have been much appreciated with RideMCTS !
Timings

The timings aren’t right anymore and it makes it impossible to get home but other wise it’s okay. It’s all completely wrong and when I go to RideMCTS it says leave :6:55 and the bus comes at 7:06 it’s a 5 minute walk... then it says I have 3 minutes on the bus which isn’t possible it’s a 20 minute ride and I know that. It’s also telling me to take the wrong bus I have to take either the 43rd and the 92nd st (12) but it’s telling me to go intermodal also it has the wrong stop too so...
Can’t get there from here...

Visiting from out of town, bussing it around. Used it heavily for three days. Mostly, I’d want the route from my current location to my next destination. EVERY TIME time I tap “current location” it starts me at Hobby Perry Road, Tifton, GA, USA. I’ve never been to that town. The same address validates now that I’m back in CA. I had to delete the address and tap current location a few times before it takes me off the grayhound bus to nowhere... that seems like a bug to me.
Was hard to figure out where /how to buy a pair of day passes -not at all intuitive to add the riders as required. Then it was random tap tap taps to navigate back to the passes when boarding the bus - never did figure out that sequence... It ultimately worked well enough-ish, I made it home.
I love using RideMCTS. It makes planning my trip easier than just guessing. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have any detour routes. For example part of s 92nd street is closed due to construction so the detour route is s 84th street. So it’s very confusing when you know that a street is closed but RideMCTS shows that it isn’t.
Mostly Great

My family uses RideMCTS a lot as we have teens in different high schools. I would like to see the actual buss stop numbers on the suggested routes. I’d also like to see the ability to look at a route number alone without having to go to the website. Other than those things I love it.
Mostly great, sometimes off

RideMCTS usually works great with notifying me of bus arrival times. Unfortunately when its off it really is an inconvenience, like when I am trying to make an appointment or going to work. Also some busses just don't live track well on a consistent basis, like route 64. Overall very good but room for improvement.
Isuess with drivers

Numerous times I’ve had drivers telling me they where unaware of why I was showing them my phone and not paying up. My question is there any possibility for an update that allows our phones to scan like the cards? Otherwise everything else on RideMCTS is fine.

This enabled me to avoid renting a car on a recent visit to Milwaukee. I flew in to MKE and hopped on the bus so to arrive at my Airbnb door for $2. I hadn’t used the bus since a kid 50 years ago but was quickly finding routes and purchasing tickets ... this ap distinguishes itself from others in that it does more than just show you route info, it tells you which set of different routes to consider. Trip planning is easy. You saved me a$100 last trip so a big thanks. Please talk to DC metro folks so they implement similar features
I love the trip planning features, and it’s nice that the bus times are in real-time. I’ve tried using other apps in the past (apple maps, google maps) to try to locate my destinations, but you can’t always see your routes and stops on the map, so you don’t know where you are in relation to a route. It’s great that you can see multiple trips for your planned route, and even plan for trips in the future too. YOU CAN EVEN SEE YOUR STOPS IN THE REAL WORLD!!! This easily deserves 5 stars!
Surprisingly good

I’ll be honest, RideMCTS is just about perfect for what it needs to do. As long overdue as it may be, this brings a whole new level of ease to the system. Plus, major bonus points for supporting Apple Pay! The only thing missing appears to just be the option to purchase different types of passes, such as week and month passes; the website says you can buy 2-hour and 24-hour passes but I don’t see the latter in RideMCTS .

I ride the bus everyday and have been waiting for an app like this to come out! No more hassle with having the correct change every single day. It helps that RideMCTS is smooth and easy to use. I take multiple lines a day, and having my route laid out in an app that allows me to purchase my tickets is ideal. Thank you!!
Feel like the only one using this but it’s amazing!

Had some issues where the drivers have no idea what it is but they are slowly learning it. I love RideMCTS to quickly buy a ticket on the go. Would love to more ticket options down the road.
Awesome New App!

There are a handful of apps for MCTS in Milwaukee, and I’m glad MCTS just released RideMCTS. I have several transit apps on my phone and I can already see that this one is going to be my go-to for planning my trips and checking bus times. RideMCTS is clean, simple, and easy to use. Easy 5 stars!!!
It is great. My only complaint is I have to buy individual $2 tickets and I have 10 $2 charges a week. It would be great if I could buy 5 or 10 $2 tickets at a time. Just one $10or $20 charge to my card.
