I am a college pitcher and bought this product specifically to help activate before throwing and recover after throwing. I saw there was an app that was said to help utilize the percussive device and was very intrigued to see what the app had to offer. After downloading the app and connecting my device I was very disappointed to see there are no baseball specific programs. There’s programs for every Joe Shmoe who wants to feel better after sitting in a chair all day which is fine, but for such an expensive device, it would be better suited to help athletes and the company needs to do a better job of promoting its helpful qualities to athletes. 1 star review until some sort of baseball programs are added and then I will spend more time and give the app another chance.

So this may be a bit of a pet peeve of mine - the device itself works fine and it does connect to the app. I have the Elite Theragun and it supposedly allows for 3 built-in preset routines - problem is only #1 seems to work. They have a rocker control to select the preset, but preset #2 and preset #3 do nothing at all. You should be able to have stored presets to run through routines without the app. After months of emails and chats and calls they keep saying the App is broke and not supporting presets - literally 4 months now and still not working. I totally understand this isn’t a huge deal - but they continue to list out “3 Built-in Presets” as a feature of this device on their site - if you’re going to list this as a feature, then I expect it to work and it was one of the reasons to go for this model over the base model. I don’t want to be told, “it’s coming soon” - soon is not 4 months. If it’s going to take that long or simply never work, then remove that as a feature.

All three of my Therabody Devices (Elite, Wave Roller, Wave Duo) are amazing. I just wish Therabody would invest as much effort in its app as it does in all of its other products! What went wrong: There used to be useful previews in the legacy app that made it easy to follow along during a routine. You preview the routine so you don’t have to figure it out as you go. Now we’re stuck with two dimensional drawings with confusing arrows and vague descriptions. For instance, “[Right upper back:] Roll the area of your body back and forth with your wave series device” doesn’t tell me much. At what angle should my body be leaning?How far up and down should I go? How fast/slow should I roll? A short video clip or a voiceover during the routine explaining this a little better would make me less afraid of irritating my spine while trying a new routine. I’ve resorted to using the Hyperice App for routines, despite having no connectivity. If this doesn’t get fixed, I might have to switch over to the competition when replacing these devices.
