Don’t bother. You won’t be able to use it.
There is an empty login screen without a method to register. If you don’t have an account it’s completely pointless. Other reviews point to having a paid account registered somewhere else.
Poor developers can’t even bother to put in a real description to let you know. I don’t know if this I’d deceptive but if you are in an App Store to be discovered, then you could at least let people know what to expect.
This is a paid service app! Nowhere on Feedbin page does it states that you have to pay for a service in order to use Feedbin . I found out after I downloaded Feedbin and opened it, which took me to a login screen without an option to register. I then went to the developer’s website and found that you have to pay for the service. They do offer a trial, however, it should have stated this on Feedbin page in Feedbin Store.
You get no more than one sentence for the description. Really?
Let me get to the point first. This is an online service which requires an online account. Can't even find a "sign up" button to create a new account in Feedbin .
And according to the website, it's a paid service. $5 a month. I'm glad I found this out before I gave any information (via account creation) to a service that's new to me.
This is not a great way to get new users. I haven't tried Feedbin , so I can't even do the job of the description for the devs by showing the features.
Leaving it to users to figure out that they have to go to the website to see the features is not the way to go either.
$60 a year for an app that hasn’t been updated in a year? Really???
Nowhere does it state you need an existing paid account to use this. Upon downloading and opening you are greeted with an unskippable login screen with no way to register an account. This will put off almost everyone who downloads this. The few that search online will find they need to enter credit card information and pay a company most people never heard for the privilege to access content that is free by just going to the sources website or using one of the other thousands of free RSS readers.
Downloaded and tried to add feeds. Each attempt came back with “not found”. Are you kidding me? Phillies, Eagles?? Not found? And you think you’re deservant of a monthly subscription for this garbage? LOL
DELETED
Installed Feedbin , logged into my this app account, and Feedbin experience does not work properly... no share icon on articles, making it useless.
Hard pass
this app is a good service, but the iOS app needs work. Regions of the screen frequently go blank, to the point where Feedbin is nearly unusable without frequently exiting and restarting it. I get a better experience using the website instead.
It’s a webview wrapped in an app. There are plenty of excellent feed readers that sync with this app. There’s no reason to use Feedbin other than the “Send to this app” sharing extension, which only works from Safari and no other share sheets. So it mostly fails for the only purpose it has. Just meh.
I made a complex password with Apple’s automatic password generation feature, and Feedbin rejected my attempt to create an account. Feedbin came highly recommended from a co-host of “Under the Radar”, _DavidSmith. It’s probably a great app, but it made it too hard to create an account.
I know you have a TestFlight version out with new icon. Why can’t you update the icon in Feedbin , it about a year now, come on guys
Love Feedbin it's quite fast and has an attractive design. All I can ask for is a dark mode & built in native this app Notifier integration
Feedbin has amazing potential. I switched over from Feedly and I’m glad I did. The interface is clean, the ability to bring in my newsletters is terrific, and I like checking out Twitter as well. The issue I found is that this app IOS crashes once a day. Feedbin tries to open the newsletter or a link and then it goes white screen and won’t restart until I uninstall and reinstall. I hope the developers fix this soon. It’s a very good app but for this problem.
I’ve tried EVERY reader app and website on the market, and was even a loyal feedly user for years. this app is clean, fast and by far the best user experience.
I love supporting independent developers and would gladly pay $5 for a service like this. This is what the internet SHOULD be.
I’ve started to use this over any other third party reader. It’s super fast and gets the job done. Any chance we can get dark mode support on iOS 13?
I love the consistency with the web app, including keeping the share sheet the same. That allows me to post links quickly to Micro.blog without leaving the this app. I’m finding myself parsing through my starred items pretty quickly.
I did find a bug when you post to Pinboard from the iPhone, the post then gets cut of at the top. You have to restart Feedbin to get the posts to appear normally again. The same functionality works on the iPad.
Feedbin appears generally safe, but use with caution.
