I have purchased the pull up bar set and was extremely disappointed. It’s like it’s made for kids. I’m only 5’5” and I have to bend my knees and it’s just not what I expected. My husband who’s taller and bigger can’t use it at all. It’s also unstable. It wobbles and there was nothing in the box that would allow us to secure the pull up bar into the shallow holes inside the board.
The worse thing? I sent several emails to support that I want to return it and they did acknowledge me at first to ask me why I don’t like the product. When I responded they started ignoring me. Looks like I’m gonna lose $350.
Honestly I was really excited but this is very much DIY and left me frustrated and unimpressed. Aside from the tutorial, which is brief and not excellent, you are left to count out your reps yourself. You also need to count the time (4 seconds, etc) you need to hold each exercise. While you’re doing this he is doing the exercises on the screen with no sound, comments, music etc and while it would be nice to follow along, the screen is just a loop and doesn’t correlate to actual reps or timing. Ugh, I’m going to stick with it but this has left a lot to be desired. Oh and if you want to download the workouts to take with you while away from cell or internet… you’ll need to cough up another $150….
Make this better!!
This is more a review of this company as a whole rather than just MacrofitFitness . MacrofitFitness itself has very little functionality if you don’t subscribe to their all access pass for $119 a year, and it will remind you of that with every action you take. “Want to use the workout log or macro calculator? Nope! Pay us first” “Want to explore purchasing other programs without paying a yearly, three figure price? Sorry! Go hunting the internet for links” But that brings me to what really pisses me off about this company. “Did you buy one of our products like the home gym or p-bars? Well thanks for the free money, we’ll be sure to send that out to you when we feel like it!” I ordered their parallettes in March and never received a confirmation or shipping notice. I emailed them and got a reply….in May. They said they would have it out by the end of next week at the latest, meaning first Friday in April. Here we are in July. I’ve never heard from them again. Absolutely terrible customer service, terribly formatted app, terribly structured programs, just terrible
I have purchased a program on MacrofitFitness and enjoyed it so much I bought a monthly subscription.
The program I doing has a glitch. After trying basic troubleshooting,
I looked for tech support to get the glitch resolved and continue my program.
On MacrofitFitness itself, there is not a place for support only “feedback”.
i left “feedback” on a google form 2 times with no response or follow up email.
Now it’s been a week, and still no response to MacrofitFitness glitch and google form.
I researched and found a support email on Instagram. I direct messaged Fit! on Instagram and sent a detailed email to tech support.
My issue is not resolved, I have paid and started the program but am unable to access it. At this time, I have sent 2 google forms to feedback, a direct message and 2 emails- and my issue is not resolved or acknowledged.
My suggestion is to have the support email very obvious in MacrofitFitness for ease of customers. And to have a sense of urgency in resolving tech issues.
I got MacrofitFitness so I could follow the Skierfit program that Jon Collinson wrote. Whether his fault or MacrofitFitness developers', this program is so frustrating I quit. The exercises are fine, but the format keeps you from focusing on them and focuses you on scrolling on MacrofitFitness .
Does it tell you what items you will need for the day or what you will be focusing on? No, you have to check every exercise beforehand to know what to expect. Bot easy when they take 15 seconds each to load and you can't read the entire title from the first page. The AMRAP routine of doing multiple exercises in fast succession has a timer at the top, but you can either look at that or scroll down to see what you are supposed to be doing. Sometimes you can't read the writing at all. Some things have timers and move you forwards without telling you, while others have no timer and you have to let it know you are done. Lots of things like this.
They seem super minor, and they are. But it's pretty apparent that the developers have never done a workout before, because there is ZERO flow to MacrofitFitness.
It does a really good job of recommending a lot of other workout plans I could buy though.
I purchased the project calisthenics program which is a great program that I have been enjoying but it’s so unfortunate that this is the platform it is on. MacrofitFitness has a lot of bugs, crashes, has a difficult to navigate interface, and sometimes the whole app stops working altogether. Even if I delete and redownload, it doesn’t work. So often have to go days without the program until they fix whatever is going on. It’s really unfortunate because it does have nice programs. Honestly, it is not worth it though. Why spend money on programs when you might be without them for days or weeks on end. It also doesn’t allow you to just simply view programs through a web browser like most other apps allow, this one forces you to use MacrofitFitness . What a shame.
MacrofitFitness will play the Audio from any video in the background under my music. There is no way to stop it from playing the same audio recording for the same video each time. This needs an AUTO-MUTE video function such as social media apps have done with their posts with videos.
Other wise it’s fine. It gets me my content, so there food. But this background playing of the same audio over and over along side my music playing in my headphones is just a bit too much. So until a fix is implemented, I rate This a 3. It does the basics with no options or settings, to it’s detriment. Also Health kit integration has never worked.
I went to the developer link in MacrofitFitness but it just goes for a homepage selling pre-packaged food and hardly mentions MacrofitFitness at all, so reaching out this way instead.
I purchased a training program that uses your app for distribution and all seems to work fine, except for movement tutorials. I have reliable high speed internet but the video playback for tutorials is painfully slow. Takes 2-3 minutes to buffer 2-3 seconds of video. Makes the tutorial feature useless. Looks like you just released an update a few days ago related to video playback so hoping you’re still working on this! I will update review as soon as the issue is resolved.
I love the intro these two guys give for this 30 days to handstand but I’m confused by the lack of directions and seemingly incoherent timer that skips around so easily. It could be better if there was some verbal cues with each exercise instead of just jumping into each one. The warm up was great and gave a great explanation of what was to be accomplished and the program would be better if they continued the verbal cues. Also unless you write down each exercise in a notebook, you have to start each of the 3 sessions over again in order to train more than 3 days a week. I think it seems like they want us to do each of the days exercises at least 2x per week before progressing to the next “days” workout? I could be wrong but they don’t address this very clearly in the instructions. Overall I like the “idea” of the program, but it’s not well laid out or explained in a consistent manner. The exercises are pretty tough when you get past day 1 so I would not expect that it’s a beginners guide!!
I do love seeing the strength and flexibility of Andrew Sealy and I guess I can only hope to achieve a fraction of what he makes seem so easy!! It’s worth getting and I think It’s best to watch each days exercises and write them down to put to my own 30 second timer and rotation.
This is a great work out program but it takes some prep work. No way a beginner could do these work outs with out some assistance. I bought some resistance bands to help pull some weight off so that I could make it through. I really enjoy Adams descriptions and approach. Unfortunately MacrofitFitness is portly designer and so buggy that it interferes with workouts. It's not something that's complicated so I'm not sure what all the buggies is about. Currently I can't do a work out because the routine won't load. I've been getting a spinning wheel of death for hours. This happens often but never for so long. The last thing you need when getting into a work out is technology delaying you or giving you an excuse not be able to do it.
The content is good but it is soooo cumbersome to play through it. There is no skip back to the previous exercise or controls to skip back or forward ten 10 seconds if you miss something. The switch between workout and tutorial mode is not tappable enough. If you switch it while in a rest it just starts playing the audio from I think the next lesson and that then keeps playing if you move forward. This is all relatively simple stuff that would make things so much easier to navigate.
My message to the authors, use MacrofitFitness . If you find it awkward to do something that is probably amplified 10x by unfamiliar users. Update MacrofitFitness so that the UI gets out of the way and let’s users resume and get through things as fast and possible, that means being able to take steps back sometimes. Keep it up though, the concept and content is cool.
The tutorials are showed in a tan DURING the exercise. This ends up in a bunch of wasted time and missing timers as the tutorials can only be seen if you start an exercise. Really wish that tutorials where all in one place before “starting” the exercise. Only project calisthenics had that feature and it helps so much as I don’t have to be scrambling and resetting the whole workout for a tutorial. Seems a little inconsiderate to not have a place where you can LEARN THE EXERCISE! I’ve done project calisthenics 1-2 and now a little frustrated with shredded academy and 30 day handstand. Not having the tutorials separate makes the progress slower!
Started the 30 day handstand series. Good tutorials/instruction but MacrofitFitness itself is really clunky. The timer is usually slow/off. Doesn’t run smoothly from one exercise to the next. Lots of starting and stopping, wondering if MacrofitFitness is frozen. Definitely needs some updating/servicing. No complaints about the instructors more an issue with the functionality of MacrofitFitness itself. Also would be great to use it on a laptop not just a phone or iPad (which seems to have more additional issues like not being able to watch it in horizontal mode! Also seems more lag time when issuing an iPad).
Though the demonstrations and timer provided is great, MacrofitFitness does not allow the user to go back and edit a workout once a workout is completed so the use is not able to edit possible mistakes or reputations. Also the user can not go back and edit repetitions or sets or notes during the workout without having to renter all previous information. MacrofitFitness does not save information. It should save past and previous info and allow the user to go back and make edits without erasing previous information.
I started with the 7 days trial with the basic Calisthenics program. The routines are fantastic, but MacrofitFitness needs some more improvements when tracking progress of the workout. In the For Time Workout, MacrofitFitness does not allow to tap and record your sets as soon as you finish a set. When you change screens to another app, it does not stay where you left it in the videos and need to re-start the video again. This is why I did not give 5 stars, but the routines are great!
I gave MacrofitFitness 4 stars, but honestly, it deserves 4.5! I just can’t give it a 5 due to a few minor issues I wish could be resolved.
I follow the “Challenger Calisthenics - Beginner” program, and I love it! It’s concise, straightforward, it challenges you while leaving you room to push yourself to your own limit, as long as you are honest with yourself and push yourself to your maximum.
I only have three minor things I wish could be fixed:
1. MacrofitFitness does not want you to leave. If I switch to a different app while in Fit!, it’ll refresh timers, so if I am 15min in to a 20min AMRAP and I switch over to skip a song or answer a text, my timer resets to 20, and at that point, I just turn on my own timer so I don’t wait through it.
Which brings me to:
2. I understand the concept of AMRAP, but there should be a button to complete and move to the next exercise even if the timer is still running. If I accidentally paused and didn’t unpause a workout, or like I mentioned above, my timer resets, I am essentially trapped for 20minutes or I need to close the exercise.
3. Navigating through MacrofitFitness can be a bit confusing. There is a “favorites” section, but other than that, I still sometimes get lost when looking for exercises. Maybe that’s just me though!
But those are just minor quality of life complaints, other than that, this is still a great app that I’d recommend!
I really like this way of setting out programs and MacrofitFitness is truly UNIQUE. MacrofitFitness is very user friendly with the exception of minor bugs. For example, the intro videos sometimes have issue loading resulting in stop and go connection. Also in some of the more complicated exercises it would be great if there were an option to watch the demos slowly to deconstruct the more involved movements thereby making it easier to practice with proper form. All things considered I am really enjoying MacrofitFitness so far and would definitely consider pursuing more programs on this platform.
Update: The programmers seemed to have fixed some of the software. Starts where I left off most of the time. Hasn’t crashed as often recently. Would love for it not to close the workout if I have to back out of MacrofitFitness for something else. But overall good improvement. Moving to 4 stars
First, I will say that Project Calisthenics has been one of my favorite workouts and yes I think it works. This review is specifically for MacrofitFitness itself.
The positive, I like the fact the developers have a feedback option in MacrofitFitness and are trying to get better. I did send a message there as well.
The negative, MacrofitFitness is very glitchy. It is super frustrating when I have time to do my workout and the workout section refuses to load. On WiFi or even 5G. It’s disheartening when you are motivated to workout and can’t get MacrofitFitness to load or you start it and halfway you lose your spot. Or it doesn’t continue to load the next section. I shouldn’t have to print out each day so I know what’s next.
The store seems to work fine, it’s happens much more often in the workout section of MacrofitFitness .
Overall great program bad programming. If it’s not fixed I’ll end up finding another calisthenics instructor that has proper software.
I originally downloaded MacrofitFitness for the Alex Puccio climbing training program. Since then have tried the backflip the calisthenics and handstand program I am now currently working on the jujitsu training program. The workouts are great MacrofitFitness is a little sketchy need some work but it’s constantly being updated. I also like the customer service the application has they were friendly and were able to help me set up after MacrofitFitness kept crashing.
I think the best thing I ever did in my calisthenics training is buying the Fit! App. I’ve tried other apps thinking that I would get somewhere, but I would finally achieve all the prerequisites for a calisthenic & that’s it!! I would wonder “ why am I still not able to do this”? The other apps never showed how to do it!! I’m actually getting somewhere!!! Step by step instructions. Perfect!! & I’m 68 years old! It’s amazing! I LOVE this!!
