Why did they mess with perfection?

Don’t understand why the development team changed the interface. It was perfect. Now everything is buggy. When you choose a bottle and want to move it to a different position, you can’t ever scroll down to all of your shelves on a fridge to choose the one you want. Also, for some reason, when you are in your fridge and click an open spot, it won’t generate bottles that aren’t already placed in a position. EVERYTHING WAS FINE BEFORE YOU MESSED WITH IT! There is no more like neutral or hate option so you can archive the wine and decide to rebuy or not. It’s like they decided to change all the good things. Don’t understand it. I’ve been using InVintory for years…very frustrated.

Clunky, poorly thought out wine entry process

Really disappointing. Added my first wine and ran into two problems.

First is that the grape was not on the select list. No way to add the grape. I had to select Other only to discover that they would review the new entry for inclusion in the database. Well that’s completely useless bc they will not be able to identify the wine without the grape. Dumb. Why not let folks add their own varietal? Then InVintory publisher have enough info to research and add new wines.

Second is the clunky UI flow for adding a wine that isn’t in the database. Whenever I searched for a value that was not on the list and selected add I had to renter the search term that I had just thumbed on my phone. This happened for winery and something else. Not well designed.

Worse, I found a Wine by this winery in the wine list, but it was not in the list of wineries. Causes me to suspect that I’ll see this a lot given the wines I collect.

Tried the scan label feature. Useless. And InVintory didn’t reuse the picture when I selected to add a new wine.

After raking 5 minutes to add my first wine, not sure I want to use InVintory given how many bottles I would have to add. Hey I can’t make a full time job of helping build the apps database! And I sure don’t want to spend ages slogging thru a clunky user interface flow.

Cool concept but InVintory needs serious review from a UI perspective to make it useable.

Nice app but not very edit friendly

I started using InVintory to catalog my cellar which was not well organized. In doing so I found that if I made an error or wanted to go back and add data to an empty field InVintory showed its limits very quickly. Getting a wine logged is simple - scan the label and off you go for the most part. It didn’t take long to encounter a wine that wasn’t in the database. Gerard Bertrand Cap Insula Red Blend Languedoc 2017. Adding it was fairly straightforward though I only added 2 bottles which I had located first. Adding additional bottles requires starting from scratch. There should be a way to just edit the quantity field up. It can be decreased as wine is consumed but not the reverse. Also, adding multiple vintages of the same wine is a pain. I have 7 vintages of one wine and had to add each one as if it were a separate bottle. Please allow adding bottle count and adjustment of the vintage fields. I will add a star to my review.

More to come as I add bottles!

Getting better all the time

I was using Cellar Tracker but wanted something that would allow me to tag and filter wines using my own criteria, and interact in a more visual way. this app fit the bill. I had a few items on my wishlist when I first downloaded and those improvements have been made. Thank you to the developers!

We purchase a lot of wines from small producers who are not in the database but it has been no problem. I like that you can add them manually while the developers review and then add them to the larger database.

In the future I’d love to see the ability to see reviews and drinking windows, but I am very happy with InVintory as is.

Really good, but...

I looked at a lot of wine app reviews before choosing this one. I’m sure adding wines are fast and easy if you buy widely distrusted brands. But If you have/buy a lot of local wine, be prepared to do a lot of new wine submissions. In the end this helps the rest of the area who may get InVintory, but if you’re the first, as I apparently am, ever bottle is a new submission.

I do wish there was a way to remove a bottle without the “consume” option. Will only let me add. The - is grayed out.

I just started exploring InVintory so views may change as I dig deeper. This is just first impressions

Feature Suggestion

I think InVintory is very innovative and has features not seen on apps similar (shout out to the AR feature). However, I can’t use it. I have a small but eclectic wine collection, so some of the wines in my collection could not be added. It would be nice to manually add bottles that don’t show up in the database (if that was an option, I couldn’t find it). But, if that feature is added, please don’t add manually entered wines to your database. Other apps have done this and it gets confusing because everyone enters the same wine a little differently. Because of this, multiple entries for the same wine show up. I’m looking forward to seeing updates that could work for me.

Really good… but a little buggy

Overall, I love this app, and I use it constantly. It’s a great app, and they’re constantly improving it, so it does keep getting better. That said, I happen to use the Deliveries function a great deal - tracking en primeur orders, for example - and that function, in particular, is a mess (on the iPad version, it’s been “under construction” for months… and months… and months). Seeing info about what is waiting to be delivered - price paid, date purchased, etc. - is klugey and unreliable. And it’s frustrating that linking between vintage info, including reviews, and bottle info (re already-owned wines) is sometimes one-directional and therefore requires a separate search in “Search Wines.” Still, with high expectations that they will eventually get it all “finished,” I am confident that it is the best wine cellar app on the market bar none. And I do love the many improvements they keep making.

BTW, a small simple additional improvement would be to add a “Format” option under Analytics, so you can look through your collection by sizes if you’re planning an occasion and thinking you want the perfect magnum or d-mag or 6L for the event.

Great app to track wine cellar!

I have used different apps to track my wines and now I won’t use anything else. It was actually fun to scan the bottles and have InVintory identify the wine. For the most part, it identified the exact wine while other times I had to select the different varietal but so easy to use. Other apps are cumbersome and too convoluted so I wanted to find something simpler to use because my issue is tracking (adding to and consuming). Having an easy way to do that will provide me with better accuracy. Only other option that would be nice is to have the ability to “consume” when I swipe left on the wine in my collection (rather than selecting it and then being able to do so).

The Search is over!

This is the cellar tracking platform I have been looking for. Great set of capabilities - from collection management to searching and filtering. The VinLocate feature finally provides an easy way to locate all of my wine (and the visualizations are really nice). Sure it took some time to convert my collection to the platform but it was well worth it. The onboarding experience and support are great. You can tell InVintory was built by wine collectors for wine collectors. Can’t recommend highly enough. I am hopeful that lots of people jump on board so the developers can continue to refine and evolve - also the community aspect as it builds will be very popular. Thank you!

awesome app!!

I love InVintory. I have about 200 bottles in a wine cellar. Before InVintory , it was hard to know which bottles I had or where they were. After scanning in all of the bottles (bit time consuming but totally worth it), now I can quickly see my inventory on my phone and pick out the perfect wine for a meal. It also allows you to customize your cellar by the number of rows and columns on each wall, and the shape of each compartment. Makes it super easy to locate the bottle you’re looking for with a graphical display of the wine storage area. it takes a little time to get used to using InVintory , but now I couldn’t do without it!

Get this App

I have tried pretty much all the wine storage/inventory apps out there and they all have some sort of let down that makes them not fit for purpose. Not only is this app totally fit for purpose but their customer service is beyond terrific. I was looking to add some rarities from some small Australian producers which did not show up in InVintory ’s search, so I hit the recommendation button. Within hours I have a reply from the GUY WHO OWNS THE COMPANY saying that they’ve added my suggestion and that I can now add it to my cellar.

With an increasingly large and complicated cellar spread across 2 continents, keeping track of what I have and when I should start drinking it is beyond easy with this app, and the ease with which weird and wonderful stuff can be added to the database makes InVintory essential.

Excellent support

My kids set this up for me a year and a half ago, inventoried all my wine, and I’ve loved InVintory since. When the original subscription expired I had an issue seeing where my wine was located. Emailed support and they trouble shot the issue right away. Got me pointed in the right direction. I got my problem solved. They followed up a week later confirming a refund, cancellation of a second account I accidentally setup, and instructions for getting the right email back into my account. Best customer support ever, and InVintory is great!

Very useful app!

Overall I like InVintory. I was able to enter ~100 bottles quickly using the photo scanning. Manual entry of bottles not recognized could be improved as could adding additional bottles of wine already in the inventory. I found having two fridges very useful and I carefully entered specific rack location for each bottle. Initially thought this information was gone, maybe as a result of an update which I found very disappointing and inconvenient. However, after exploring app more found that bottle location information was not completely lost, just not displaying where I expected to find it. Updating review/adding a star. Appreciate prompt response from developer

Updated Review: Simply Amazing

So when I first tried InVintory , close to a year ago, it was a nightmare. Their support team had to do most of the work for me and I basically abandoned InVintory . Well, we just moved into our new home and I have a new wine cellar that’s a really odd shape and I built the cellar in 3 minutes and started fresh rescanning all my bottles. Less than an hour later I had 130+ bottles scanned and organized in my cellar and my wife added as a collaborator. The scanning is a bit hit and miss but that’s fine because the database search is pretty solid. So happy I came back to InVintory and happy to be a paying supporter too. Great job to the team on getting everything buttoned up!

Best Wine Inventory App

I have spent a considerable amount of time researching various apps to manage our wine cellar both in the US and France. I tried several and then found this app (thankfully). Cost was not as important as functionality and the ability to customize the visualization of our racks to easily store but more importantly, find bottles. The filters and search capabilities are excellent, intuitive, and very easy to use. The initial setup of the cellar on InVintory was very easy and user friendly. Support has been responsive and very friendly.

Best Wine Collectors APP EVER

I’ve used several different wine apps and this one is fantastic. You can setup wine virtual racks and different collections of racks and label the location of the racks. Then place your wines in them. You can search your wine by browsing your racks on your phone or open the collection section and use the search text box or search by grape, wine color or various other parameters. There are so many other parts of InVintory I like. I bought the monthly subscription, but I’m converting to the yearly subscription.

My new favorite app

I never write reviews, but this is an incredibly helpful and useful app. I took the time to catalog my wine collection, and it gives helpful information about when to consume your wines, how long to age them, and just generally helps you keep up with your collection. The AI assistant will give you recommendations about which wines from your collection to choose to pair with what you are serving for dinner. I have not purchased the premium version but am considering it. Fantastic app.

Well Done

I have been using InVintory for about five months to manage my 100 bottle wine collection and I have been impressed. Easy to use, allows for basic and or detailed descriptions of your wine inventory, and shows photos of your inventory as you search. A nice feature is if they don’t have the wine you purchased in their database, all you do is send them the information and they will update their database within a day or two. I recommend InVintory.

A few UX refinements and it’s a perfect app

It took me about an hour to create five cellars and scan in around 80 bottles. Of the 80 bottles, maybe 5 weren’t already in the database and had to be submitted for review to be added. That took around a day and I got an email they were available for selection. Really, really pleased with the responsiveness of the developer. I emailed about an inconsistency between two screens and got a reply asking for screenshot examples. Once I sent that, I got another reply. I’m convinced they’ll be big. The only thing missing from a true inventory management perspective are features like inventory checks and cycle counts to check for bottles that were consumed but not updated in the database. Nice job!!

Love this app

Hello this app. I’ve had your app for about 2 years I think. It’s amazing, the labels recognition, the reviews, the drink by ranges. All the additions you have made are amazing.
I just chatted with Vincent, he gave a great response with specific wines, that sounded familiar, I didn’t notice that at the bottom of his message it showed the location of those specific wines it recommended in my this app. I must have missed the explanation that he will scan your cellar and recommend for it what to drink.
This is a wonderful app and you are always making it more intuitive.

Please keep it up and thank you again for your hard work
