Took a ride in Indianapolis late Saturday night and woke up to 3 unknown charges in Bloomington (where the company started) for gas and McDonalds. Totaling near $50. My card is still in my possession and I haven’t used the card on any other purchases since that day. If anyone from the business is reading this, I would recommend you update the security on your payment records to avoid anyone else getting money stolen from them on a ride they nearly lost their life on.

There are often multiple drivers accepting rides, but they never take anyone waiting for one (even if you add a large tip). Why be online if you won’t take rides? Their version of NomadRides doesn’t show them your location either. So if your ride request is accepted, they will have to ask you for directions. In the event you get a ride, your driver may not follow to rules of the road. Rider beware.

After a month of using nomad rides, my biggest problem isn’t the limited driver pool, but rather how the navigation system does a poor job of actually recognizing your location and address and communicating that information accurately and efficiently to the driver. This has caused me to be late several times, to no actual fault of the driver’s themselves. No arrival estimation or tracking towards the destination also makes planning and communicating my trips more difficult as well.

When i first started using nad rides it was great ! I could always get a ride and it wouldn’t take that long to get connected . Now it’s always 1-3 drivers on and they never accept anyones rides . I was waiting for a ride for hours just to get home from work from being stranded there. Poor management, app going down , great price , horrible app .

Although NomadRides provides users with cheaper payment compared to Uber or Lyft, the area that it struggles with is speed. There usually isn’t a large amount of drivers working, so you could be waiting for rides for over 30 minutes, especially on busy days.

It would could so much better , but honestly it’s stressful. NomadRides itself I love. The drivers are great but honestly it’s not enough. Also I’ve had two drivers completely mess up my ride and no pay attention which caused me to be late to work. The lack of attention is annoying. I like nomad but I’ll stick with the extra couple dollars and just pay Uber.

Nomad rides has been the best ride app I have used so far. I feel safer and more comfortable with the Nomad drivers over any other company. The drivers are very respectful and allow riders to have fun. Not only is Nomad cheaper, but NomadRides is extremely accessible and easy to use. Nomad is the way to go!

Only took me 30 seconds for me to be designated a driver and most importantly, it was just $5. Definitely a more affordable and better version of uber/lyft.

This is a really great platform and alternative to other ride sharing apps like Uber and Lyft. There’s no surge fees - just a flat $5 rate for anywhere near/on campus in Bloomington. Would definitely recommend a download from any student at IU.

It’s crazy how much I’ve saved using Nomad- at least $50/month. The driver was great and so easy to talk to. Friends on NomadRides are already daily users. This is a must esp on a college student budget!!

It gives drivers 100% of the money. It’s just a platform that allows the rider and driver to connect. As a driver it’s far more important profitable for me to use this ride share app because I don’t lose money on the short rides.

I don’t see myself ever using Uber or Lyft again now that I have NomadRides. I saved $10 using Nomad for a ride home during a football game when there was a “surge” on every other ride-share app. I love that it’s always $5 and I’m being driven around by IU students!
