Mirror Vision: Golf Coaching Reviews

I found this to be a fantastic training aid. For $3.49 a month, and the ability to cancel anytime, I would say this is the best value of any golf training aid I have ever purchased. There are two things it won’t do. First, if you’re working on something your buddy told you, like “keep your head down” or “hold the lag”, it won’t help. Garbage in = Garbage Out. It will help if you’re working on something a PGA golf instructor wants you to work on. Second, its not going to replace the significantly more expensive golf video software which is loaded down with features. What it does do is provide you with a very easy way to practice specific parts of your swing without looking behind you in a mirror, or swiveling your head all around. Worst case scenario, you spent $3.49 and had to spend a couple of minutes clicking into Itunes to cancel the subscription.

I absolutely love MirrorVision. It eliminates the need for a mirror, and you can set this up just about anywhere with your iPad and iPhone for practice reps on the go.

The only improvement I would suggest, would be the ability to use MirrorVision in landscape orientation. Most of us using the iPad Pros with Keyboards are always in landscape mode, and I have to take my iPad out of the case to set it up in portrait orientation. Other than that, MirrorVision is AWESOME!

The good is that it does put a “mirror” in the form of an iPad right near your ball so you can work on movements and groove new motor patterns.

The room for improvement would be to have some sort of auto playback mode or a mode which would purposely add latency so that swings are quickly and seamlessly reviewable—Perhaps continuously as you’d like in a studio session.

I didn’t find the playback to be all that useful because you have to wait for the viewing iPad to download swings from the camera.

This is an amazing app to work on your golf swing. There’s almost no lag between my first gen iPad Air and iPhone 11. Also, recorded videos transfer near instantly. Wish I known about MirrorVision earlier. Loving it so far.

I do have a few suggestions to further improve an already great app.
1) Enable saving trimmed recordings as the original video not just as a new video.
2) Enable the volume up button to be assigned as the record button just how the stock camera app works. This enables using Bluetooth remotes for starting and ending a recording.
3) Add ability to auto detect a swing for recording and instant playback after each swing.
4) Not sure if it’s possible, but it would be great to be able to connect two cameras to a single device.

Mirror vision has been a huge help for my practice and has been a crucial part of my improvement. Getting feedback in my slow motion swings has been the biggest change this year and my game and swing have a lot to show for it. Thank you for making MirrorVision! I’m a huge supporter!

Would it be possible to get the iPad version of MirrorVision to work in landscape mode. Also, a auto playback feature after MirrorVision hears the crack of the golf would be great as well. Lastly, with the small confines of some ranges a feature to us the wide angle of the phone cameras would be awesome as well. Thanks for the great app regardless though - my favorite golf gadget!

App has potential to be great! Currently, experiencing too many unintended disconnects which renders MirrorVision useless. Also, you must have a second person available to draw lines in live view. Once, the connectivity bugs are fixed and a feature is added so the user can add lines in live view (without the help of a second person), it will be a 5 star product.

I’ve been using MirrorVision for a while now and the connection used to be a major source of frustration. However it is much improved now!

Now it seems as though on the phone app, the delete button will not appear when I swipe left on videos...

If you are working on grooving something for your swing look no further. The ability to look at yourself from behind in real time and record it gives you instant feedback.

As a beginner who sometimes has no idea what is going on or how to adjust my swing, I’ve become obsessed on MirrorVision!!! The real-time feedback is crucial to perfecting my swing and I wouldn’t have made as much improvement as I have without it.

Like it when it works but frustrating when it doesn’t which seems to be often as of late. Already signed up for a 1 year subscription. Kind of regretting it at this point. Tried all the tips they recommend but initial connection and maintaining a connection is hit and miss.

Terrible way to monetize MirrorVision . Forces to pay for a monthly or yearly plan before you can even use MirrorVision without a “free trial”. Which they are going to hit your iTunes account after the trial isn’t canceled. At least give a light version that’s just the mirror that we can all stand in from of at home. Charge those that want greater in depth features. Terrible business move.

Easy to use with good quality video. The option to have grid lines on the recording device would be helpful.

Does the iPhone and iPad have to have LTE to work on the range? Only tried it in the house on WiFi.

Great tool

It doesn’t work consistently enough to be useful. Lags. Refuses to connect. Great idea but too frustrating to get everything setup only for it to fail to connect or mirror useable and real time video.

I have the latest version of MirrorVision (March 2019) and it’s so frustrating how over and over it disconnects for no reason. This cost $25 so we as consumers expect it to be a working app not just a cool idea that doesn’t work.

When MirrorVision works it’s brilliant. However I can only connect devices 1 out of 10 tries. Very glitchy. Have a new iPhone and iPad with the latest updates, and am following directions correctly.

I tried to review my swing and it replays me right handed. I am unable to switch it to left handed

Can’t get my phone to mirror to my iPad without WiFi. Not very helpful while on the range.
