Cant even go to level 3 without “subscribing” to a monthly fee. A little ridiculous. I even would have been fine with a one time fee.

Struggling to help my 95 year old father with this game, watched the video tutorial, i get the idea of spaced repetition and recall. No idea how to play this game.
My son can also not decipher this, so 3 generations are flummoxed.
Impressive.

Couldn’t for the life of me figure out what I was supposed to do. Sat there seeing random blocks light up with letters stated forever, wondering if I was supposed to be doing something. Literally no menu option to get instructions.

Any attempt to understand the scoring system just results in “why this game is good for you”

A correct letter or position selection gives you a point…right? If you miss a letter or position do you also lose a point? If you select an incorrect letter or position do you lose a point? It’s never explained or written anywhere in DualNback . DualNback has 4 links to videos and articles about the benefits of the game or game basics, but nowhere does anyone even on the web discuss scoring for missed correct answers or wrong answers

As a complete beginner to this game I was totally confused about how to play it. I looked for tutorials and only found a paragraph that was not useful. There was no tutorial or explanation about how to use the mechanics in the game. I wanted to like the game because it was supposed to be helpful but it just made me angry and frustrated. I found another Dual N- Back game by a different developer which had a great explanation and a tutorial. Skip this one if you’re a beginner.

Starts off way too fast to follow and the audio for the letters is muddled and low quality, so it’s hard to know if the computer said J or K as an example.

DualNback is good for what it does, which is playing the n back game. However there are some bugs and DualNback doesn’t seem supported anymore since their website domain is no longer registered.

If you really want people to have a better onboarding experience, you need to have an N=1 level and other "training wheels" features.

O overall enjoy it but only when it’s working. 50% of the time I did not touch the screen at all yet it threw random wrong answers so had to start all over again and again and again

Using level 2 the sounds are 2 back but the squares are 1 back

DualNback is too simple and low maintenance to warrant demanding a paid subscription for stages higher than 4.

As a beginner it would be great to start with n=1, and this game starts at 2 — inexplicably. Am I missing something?

Nice game.

The start/stop button in the middle is so big, and its boundary is invisible, which tricks me into hitting it by accident while trying to hit Sound or Position.

It’s a solid dual nback app, but I’d like to see some improvement in the stats page:

There’s a single graph for the accuracy rate over time. Naturally, 3back is a lot harder than 2back, so it can be frustrating/misleading to see the graph drop down to a lower percentage when you upgrade to a higher n value.

There should instead be a weighted score system to show that improvement, or you should be able to filter the progress graph by n, such as a graph showing your daily average 3back score, rather than combining all games.

A community average/percentile chart would be great too for each n value!

Dear developer,

Great app and love the stats page BUT
CAN YOU PLEASE 🙏🙏 put the start button on the bottom of the screen instead of the top?? I know this sounds like the epitome of a first world problem but it really is annoying to start by moving my finger all the way up top to the screen, just for me to start playing on the bottom

I love DualNback. It’s ease of use is a bonus. Initially, I didn’t know how to play but easily found all settings and detailed instructions/videos in the profile section.

I’ve noticed a vast improvement in my working memory since beginning DualNback. I’ve tried other Dual N-Back apps but none compare.

I’m grateful.

I used to use Brain Workshop on Mac but it stopped working on Catalina. This is a great replacement and the best one I’ve seen on iOS

Customizable within limits. No ads. You do have to pay to get beyond 4-back, but it’s unreasonable to expect people to make apps for free and it’s $8 a year, which I think is reasonable.

My only question is if there is a way to pay some fee to get rid of the ads. They really aren’t overbearing in any way, but I’d still like to be able to get rid of them if that is possible. Otherwise I am finding DualNback to be very enjoyable!
