TL; DR - extra scans didn’t download and refund refused

Privacy4Cars says two free scans, great! But Privacy4Cars counts a use on scan start rather than scan completion, so if you get interrupted, as I was twice, your free scans are gone.

Fine, no big deal, it’s only a couple of bucks to get unlimited scans, it was free, so I buy the extra scan. Privacy4Cars says purchase successful but then says there was a problem with Privacy4Cars Store. Fine. I restart my phone and try again, same thing.

I’m selling the car that day so I borrow my wife’s phone. I’m expecting some big nine-point process but I get five screens of photos to navigate the menus to an option that on my Toyota that removed all my data. Great, but it would have been easier on a single page. It took two more pages to clear the garage door opener, and then that was it. Two process points.

I sold the car and then on Jan 16, the bill comes from Privacy4Cars Store for two downloadable content purchases. I told Apple that I didn’t get the content and received a refund. Ten days later the charges reappear and this time, Privacy4Cars Store will not refund my purchases.

It’s not about the money, it’s about doing the right thing. This company doesn’t do the right thing.

Tested with instructions for an F-150 and it basically walked me through resetting the infotainment system, such an obvious process that you literally go to Settings -> Reset. No instructions or ability to reset anything else. Demands location information for no good reason. Useless and deleted.

Uitextfield and comboxes are empty

Bought scans for one vehicle and Privacy4Cars keeps telling me to buy more scans

Privacy4Cars crashes when I select my vehicle. All text is white on a white background. Impossible to read.

Tried to register as an individual changed the way I imputed data but kept getting alerts that my data was not entered correctly. Must be a flaw with Privacy4Cars.

I have deleted my info before on my vehicle. It was very easy to do and I didn’t have to even look it up. This just told me what I already knew and it used one free lookup that I didn’t even use like most other users.

Sweet idea: why do you want me to create an account in your database so that I can remove my data from another database?

Lol: guest account has 2 free wipes. However, if you uninstall and reinstall after using them, you get two more free wipes. This trick earned you 4 stars instead of 2.

Used this while on vacation. Easy to use and it works!!

This makes great sense. Especially, if your vehicle is being sold or changing hands. Privacy4Cars is totally intuitive and truly valuable in removing PII from cars.

Privacy4Cars is extremely easy and clear to follow. Provides a great resource to protect individuals personal information and should be used by everyone before selling or trading in a car.

What an amazing idea this was! I can clear the data in seconds instead of searching for hours on the web. I didn’t realize my data is kept on any car I paired my phone to! Hats off to the developers and project leads on this home run!

This is a privacy app but you're requesting access to my camera, my email, my VIN, and according to the google play and app store, my location. Literally just a glorified instruction manual on how to click two buttons. I can go into my car's settings and click reset without giving you all my personal data. This might be the dumbest app I've ever seen in my life. The fact that you need to register an account tells you everything you need to know about this app. STAY FAR AWAY from HeyAuto and Privacy4Cars. You can go into your car's computer settings and click reset on every single model car on planet Earth. And if you still can't figure that out, a simple 2 second Google search should clear things up. You don't need to download this privacy-invading worthless app. HeyAuto, Brent Lane, and Brett Jones are known scammers.
