It would be running in the background overnight

So I got HeartAnalyzer because 9to5mac recommended it. After downloading it for whatever reason it wouldn’t show on the watch until I powered down both watch and phone then it finally showed up in my watch apps. My biggest problem is that while sleeping it would run my activity in the background so now upon waking up I already have 600 calories burned, I’ve stood the entire night and almost 100 minutes of exercise. This happened three nights in a row, and I would notice that on the top of my watch it show a white out version of the activity logo. But when I check my workouts nothing was posted, matter a fact none of my workout apps said I did anything. So I was really confused, now this happened when it was a set as a complication on my watch face. I didn’t bother to see if it did the same thing if it wasn’t a complication, but I went ahead and deleted it and now my watch is back to normal.

Also during those three times that my watch was going it would almost completely drain my battery.

Best-in-Class Apple Watch Heart Rate App

I’ve tried many of the Apple Watch heart rate applications, free and paid, including some of the front runners such as Cardiogram and HeartWatch. Heart Analyzer has become the best in class. It’s most recent update brings a deluge of data to the watch, while maintaining an easy to read and navigate user interface. The infograph modular complication brings up-to-date heart rate readings with an at-a-glance max/min data set. The iPhone app easily integrates data from third party exercise applications like FitBod and provides additional insight to your health based on heart rate algorithms. I would recommend this to anyone interested in a heart rate app for their iPhone and Apple Watch.

Was excited until......

When I first saw all the metrics this apps provides I quickly bought all premium features. Then I noticed that HeartAnalyzer would crash when I go into workout data and slide the bottom heart information bar. Right when getting into the “metrics” view. I have rebooted phone, reinstalled app, open and Close HeartAnalyzer and done it with and without rebooting phone when doing HeartAnalyzer reinstall. I sent an email to the developer but then noticed they say it could take up to 10 WORKING days to respond. I downloaded HeartAnalyzer because it was features in 9to5 as amazing which it looks like it is but can’t say if I can’t use one of the main features! Anyways, I know software is unpredictable but when a paid app has this issues (and apparently known based on other reviews) I think is unacceptable. I sent them a video with the exact issue since it only happens on that specific instance just to try to help. I hope it doesn’t take 10 days to get it fixed because I really look forward to use HeartAnalyzer .

Better Than 5 Stars

This is a very well thought out app. There is so much information in HeartAnalyzer but it doesn’t get in the way or clutter up any screens. It shows a lot of information among other things valuable information about your heart. I got this because I’m recovering from a near death fight with COVID-19. I am still supposed to monitor my oxygen levels. So if you have an Apple Watch series 6 this gets even better because the series 6 has the oximeter and HeartAnalyzer has your oxygen information in it also. There are 3 premium upgrades available for purchase. The nice thing is that you don’t have to renew each month.

Time Scale Doesn’t Change

I paid for the premium feature to be able to customize the infograph display on my watch. However, changing between the “Auto 3/12 Hr” and “Fixed 6 Hr” options has no effect on the displayed graphs. Selecting different colors for the graphs also has no effect.

I also have some concerns about the information provided to interpret EKG rhythms. I am a former Paramedic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor. I think EKG interpretation is beyond the scope of what HeartAnalyzer is intended to do. It takes more training to understand the significance of the different parts of heart rhythms. The information provided could confuse lay users about what they are seeing, possibly causing them to think it is harmless and delay seeking medical help when really needed.

Update - I sent two emails to the developer about the problems with the scales on the graphs. I got no response. I’m going back to HeartWatch.

Much, much better than expected

I just needed an app that would show me my heart rate over the course of a day. HeartAnalyzer does that and much more.

For example, it averages daily heart rate over the course of a year. I got lazy over the enforced COVID stay at home period and quit exercising. A few months ago, I resumed exercising. The retrospective annual graph shows an increased heart rate during the period I slacked off and fortunately, a corresponding decline beginning when I resumed exercising.

The feedback has motivated me to keep exercising. That alone is worth the purchase.

The developer has an excellent User Interface sense. Want better detail on a part of a graph? Just pinch and zoom and you have it. You might think “Pfff! Pinch and zoom is not new!” You would be right but their are too many apps that don’t implement it when they should. This one does.

The care that it took to implement that small detail permeates HeartAnalyzer .

Lots more but i hate writing on my phone. Just buy it.

So much and so little clarity!

I got HeartAnalyzer to hopefully give me a nice chart of continuous HR so I can see How my heart is responding to daily activities. Simple. Why do you make it so difficult, with your various metrics, to get a simple picture of ongoing csrdiac activity. Please get rid of most of the analysis. It’s not helpful to me or my doctor or anyone else I’ve shown the readings to. The other app worse than yours is Welltory who seem to have hired too many social or health psychologists. Please get back to simplicity and clarity. Most of us are not data scientists and don’t wish to be Data’d out of our ways of handling our bodies and ourselves.

PS. I would be happy to help you design something that aesthetically, emotionally and critically is organically appealing to real people, not your version of real customers

Awesome App

For a while, I’ve been looking for an app that helps me understand how exercise and daily activity affects my cardiovascular health day to day. I used to use the Apple Activity and Health apps to track this, but after multiple HIIT workouts, I realized that those apps don’t really give me insight into how my heart is adapting.

HeartAnalyzer has so many great features and deep analytics that I wouldn’t be able to list them all if I could. I’m able to track every type of statistic you can think of and see a day on day, week on week, year on year change in each.

I fully recommend this.

I feel this app saved my life

I got HeartAnalyzer to give me data about my fitness levels and understand my heart statistics. Then I started suddenly getting out of breath on easy rides. Looked at the trend features and saw that my heart rate was off the charts. I immediately quit drinking coffee and tried to fix things different ways. Also improve my diet. Took 3 months to get my heart back right.

Also love the trends and analytics. Love trying to make the trends better.

Thank you heart analyzer. This is my first written review and you were worth it. Best heart app out.

Heart Rate Recovery Flawed

FYI to athletes looking to track HR Recovery, the “Deep Analytics” HR Recovery functionality is flawed HeartAnalyzer. The issue is that most, if not all, workouts will include some kind of a cool down period before completing the workout where much of your HR recovery can be realized. HeartAnalyzer isn’t able to recognize that condition. I noticed that my HR Recovery numbers were being scored as “poor” in both the 1-minute and 2-minute periods. My 1-minute recovery is typically 35-38 bpm but HeartAnalyzer was reporting only 5-7. Hmmm. That’s when I realized it was only looking at my HR when I clicked “end” on my workout. I then tested HeartAnalyzer by performing a workout where I immediately ended the workout without a cool down and it correctly calculated my recovery. So just be warned that if you utilize any kind of cool down, HeartAnalyzer will misreport your HR Recovery.

premium purchase not registering

I paid for HeartAnalyzer but in HeartAnalyzer there’s some features that keeps telling me that I need to upgrade to premium. Is this a glitch ? All my stuff is UTD so if this isn’t fixed and I can’t access all my heart reports from up to 4 years ago; very disappointed. Because this has potential to be a great app for cardiac patients like me that has a loop/pacemaker that uses Apple Watch as a secondary way to monitor themselves and compare data and report things to there electrophysiology drs. The way the monthly charts are broken down here are wonderful; I can just email/ and send to dr or show ER dr if there’s an issue as a quick comparative especially for trends.

Great App!!

I was looking for an app it made more sense of my watches ability to measure my heart rate, and as luck would have it, I found this great app.

I appreciate the fact that the developer has my privacy in mind, and all data stays on the phone, and not sent to a website somewhere as Fitbit does.

The developer has been very responsive to questions and bug report, and seems to be very dedicated to maintaining and improving HeartAnalyzer .

As a software developer myself, I know all too well sometimes bugs will creep in even though you’ve done your best to test and try to prevent them. I feel the developer has been very proactive in attempting to squash said bugs, As you can see there have been three updates in the last week.

The live heart rate feature on the watch, And the graphing options are excellent.

Keep up the good work! And thank you for caring about your users.

Update messed it up

App was working OK with the expected quirks of a free app. It was not accurate, neither did it work all the time. I was able to track my sleep to a certain extent with the old view.
After the latest update, views are just a joke. It takes a PhD to decipher the data under “sleep times”. You can not get a quick glance to see how long did you sleep last night (whether its accurate or not!). You have to stare at the log for a while to extract the info you need! Not sure who recommended this view to the developer! I quit using HeartAnalyzer and decided to “offload it” using the new ios11 feature to preserve old readable histories logged before the update. A great example of a decent product with a horrible representation!

I want to like it but…

I love having complications on my watch face, but HeartAnalyzer has given me nothing but problems so far. It doesn’t update the complication unless I open HeartAnalyzer manually or force a refresh, or clear out the data cache. Really a pain and there don’t seem to be any other options to fix the problem. I’ve been watching this thing like a hawk and it will go for an hour to an hour and a half with no update on complication. Again, I have to open manually. What’s the point? I’m on watch OS 8.1 and iOS 15.1. App is updated to. Plead fix soon. Might eventually consider a premium purchase if I can at least get a consistent reading on my complication.

Great app very useful!

I have severe sleep apnea, HeartAnalyzer has provided me with great insight into my O2 saturation and heart tracking and trends. You really need to use it with the apple 6 watch to collect the data. I wear the watch at night and the information has helped me manage my apnea. Only negative is you can only print or send a monthly summary with limited information as of this writing. I wish i could print more detailed reports. Thanks to the developers, great job!

Graph y axis range issue

Hi Team,
New graphs are great but in the tap heart rate range each graph for 3 days shows different range. So even though we can see 3 graphs for comparative analysis of today, yesterday, and day before yesterday but since y axis range is different, user can not comprehend if today’s graph is sharper than previous day or not.. not having same heart rate range makes it less effective.
Solution: min and max heart rate range should be lowest and highest of 3days and graphs should be plotted against same range. This would give optimum utilisation of the trend and graphs

Thanks

Heart Rate Analyzer

HeartAnalyzer is a real game-changer for doing a deep dive into your cardiovascular health. The graphics and deep data analytics available to the user are world class. The watch app is a powerful and convenient portal into your heart health on the iPhone. I look at this data almost daily, and appreciate the thoughtful and useful manner in which it is laid out and organized. Job well done to the developers and premium content creators. Incredibly valuable app to own and use to improve your health.

Great app, horrible service

Five stars for HeartAnalyzer . Hands down the best heart metric app I’ve found. However, I feel part of the obligation of selling an app is to provide customer service when a question or issue arises. With this developer, I’ve experienced zero response to my support emails.

A simple “Yes, we can look into that” or “No, that feature isn’t on our radar” would suffice. Their approach seems to be to collect my payment and then ignore.

Step up your game and your all important rating will improve.

Heart Analyzer is AMAZING

I have atrial fib, and it's very important to me to know what my heart is doing. Heart Analyzer gives me a mammoth amount of information that is easy to understand and assimilate. Then at month's end, I get a detailed report of all things cardiac, including a tremendous amount of data that I would never have known, and most of it is free. For about 4USD (one time!!) there is an additional wealth of information available. Heart Analyzer is the single most valuable app on my Apple Watch.

I want to like it but . . .

As much as I want to like HeartAnalyzer I can’t use it. My exercise rings on Apple Watch Series 5 will literally go from less than 1/4 way around to full and complete in less than 5 minutes of typing. I could see that possibly if it happened daily because I’m a telephonic nurse and type all day long. Problem is it might happen once every few weeks and it throws off my averages. I thought maybe uninstalling and reinstalling would resolve it but it did it again today after a few days of being reinstalled. I’ve purchased every extra on HeartAnalyzer too because I really like what it does as a nurse but the inaccurate exercise numbers is a killer for me.

Great app but need support

Has worked really well for me until the recent update which was advertised as a complete overhaul that would include more frequent complication updates but now it hardly updates ever. Usually have to open app on my watch to update. I do have refresh on.
Regardless of this I’ve really enjoyed HeartAnalyzer and it’s worth every cent.

Needs another update

I’ve had the a app for a long time. The old version really didn’t do much, looked forward to new version. After updating, it would constantly open itself, and when I swiped right, would shutdown. It also caused a glitch in my Apple Watch to continue my activity rings from the previous day. I normally stand for 12-13 hours, get about 900 calories, and exercise for about 70 minutes. When I got the new update, I got 23 hours standing, 265 minutes of exercise, and 2564 calories. Totally messed everything up. Deleted app, everything works fine now.

It’s great!

I love HeartAnalyzer it’s gives detailed info about your heart but also other things important for fitness. BMR etc., but you have to get the premium for a small fee. I’m not one to buy premium apps but this one allows you to try it out before purchasing it. If your not satisfied after the trial you can still have access to the free app that provides detailed info.

Amazing complication, great dev communication!

Everything about HeartAnalyzer is incredibly informative and easy to understand. The complications for the S4 are great, and there really isn’t any other app out there that provides this. The developer is easy to reach, responds to emails, and is open to suggestions. Definitely my go to app for heart rate related data!

Stopped syncing with 📲 iPhone

I had previously purchased and was very pleased with my Premium Services. However in January 2018; Your App has ceased to stop syncing with my iPhone & Therefore NOT in keeping of my heart rate daily history. HeartAnalyzer requests that I repurchase my 'Premium Services' to restore my history.
After months of using HeartAnalyzer. I am mostly definitely finding this a frustrating & absolutely non negotiable! So my advice to those of you looking for a great heart monitoring.....
Do not pay 💰 for the services that will not guarantee your absolute & historical satisfaction! Unless you are looking for disappointment!

Best app for Apple watch

This is the single best app for Apple watch and surprising Apple hasn't included this functionality natively like Fitbit and other teachers. HeartAnalyzer Bridges the gap with other fitness trackers and while not 100% accurate is really darn close and extremely useful. Thanks so much! Also the developer is fantastic at responding to emails!

Great app

This is a great app but I would like to see a comprehensive detailed info section on how to better interpret the graphs. Pictures are not enough help. They are very confusing and explanations of how to read them are not available. It would help to have instructions on how to read the data.

Overwhelming data

Incredible amounts of data, going back to when I turned my watch on. Very impressive and accurate. Just tried the free trial and there is even more data available. Recommend trying this one.
