Poor Mobile App Response/Connection
Where do I begin with the problems that this app has. I have missed out on so many donation opportunities due to this apps poor user connectivity. For example; today after work I had an appointment set for 4:20pm. I wasn’t going to be able to make it so I tried accessing it at 3:23pm and couldn’t get into it to long enough to change my appointment. It’s now 4:57pm and still haven’t been able to access it. I’ve logged out and logged back in multiple times and still won’t load any proper info. No account balance, no current donation times, and no future times either. I get the same error message 10-15 times daily when checking for appointments. “Sorry an error has occurred please try again”. You hit the retry button 10 more times before it actually registers the choice you have made and then puts you pack into a viscous cycle of improper loading and connectivity. You try to sign out and sign back in and more problems occur. It sits on the same loading screen directing you to log in after you’ve entered your password and pressed login. This app needs help. I know it’s not my connection because it’s happened way too many times and I’ve missed way too many opportunities for this to be my connection issue. My work is roughly 13 miles away and in between those miles and minutes of waiting I’m still left without an answer or change of appointment. Please fix these reoccurring issues so I can donate in a easy, peaceful fashion.
“Something Went Wrong” messages
When this app works, it works great. But it often does not work well. Lately especially, but since having the app, I get something went wrong with a frowny face. I can retry but usually it doesn’t help, even when it looks like it does. In other words, it doesn’t sign me out, but it doesn't function at all. I can’t make appointments, can’t check my balance, etc. I then close out the app, and hope that when I open it back up all the glitches will be fixed. Usually that isn’t the case. Usually it will automatically sign me out, and I have to sign back in. Half the time, it doesn’t accept my signing in and I have to wait. Usually after a couple of hours, I am signed back in and everything seems to be functioning. My issue right now is that the calendar is not working and cannot make an appointment.
Someone replied to my previous review about this app saying they haven’t had any issues like what I described. Well, it’s been 5 months and I’m still having the same issue. I have redownloaded the app, talked to center employees, and restarted my phone. Nothing seems to fix the issue that the app always logs me out and tells me “something went wrong”. It’s ridiculous. It sounds like more people have issues with this app than people who like it. Maybe the developer should actually look into the issues and fix the things people say are wrong with it. I downloaded the app with the belief that making my appointments, checking promotions, and checking the card balance would be much easier. I was definitely wrong. The app always tells me “something went wrong” and asks me to log out and log back in, only to have it still not work. What a complete waste of space on my phone and time I’ve spent trying to get the app to work. Before you start promoting an app like this and promising that it will make things easier, big issues like that need to be resolved.
Developers need to recode this app.
I just got referred from a friend the other day to start donating plasma. I walked in without using the app because it refused to let me link my google account for near 24 hours. After finally successfully linking my account, I pretty much can’t log in to my account. It no longer recognizes my login because it tells me “unsuccessful login in attempt.” I know my google password as I can still easily log right back into my email from any computer. On top of that, after it erroring out, I have to delete the app and reinstall it because it refuses to let me retype in my password. It attempts to auto login and puts itself into a loop. For a company trying to receive plasma donations, I’d think y’all would pay your developers a little bit more to make a successful app. I keep seeing developer responses of “its most likely your device,” but the amount of reviews I’m seeing with the exact same issue would say other wise. All three of my Apple devices fail to log in. Thanks for your time! I love the facility, just not the app.

The app seems to have everything I expected and I’m very pleased with the features and intuitiveness, especially since both scheduling and card balance information are in one interface. Nice job. The scheduling functionality needs improvement though. Many “oops something went wrong” messages, so bug fixes are necessary. But more than that, I would like to see a simple summary of all upcoming appointments (just like the ‘Upcoming Appointments’ button on the website.) Currently I can only see one upcoming appointment from the home dashboard and tapping on it doesn’t allow me to more appointments. Also, when navigating through the calendar and tapping on a day with an existing appointment, I cannot see the details for that appointment. I really liked the online color coded monthly view calendar and would appreciate a similar visual in the app.
Good but needs a little improvement...
I actually LOVE this app. It lets me do everything I need and the user flow is great. I only have a couple issues that drive me crazy. :) 1) the “sorry please try again” login attempts that everyone else has mentioned does happen, but it actually doesn’t bother me much. I swipe/close out of the app and go back in then it’s fine. Obviously it would be nice if it was fixed but not my biggest issue. 2) the thing that bothers me most is that the app crashes/go to my phones home screen every time I schedule an appointment. The appt does schedule but it doesn’t sync to my phone calendar (yes I have permissions set up and have uninstalled/reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, etc.). So I then manually go in and add to my calendar and have to log back into the app. 3) I wish the list of history for your balance card showed where the spending was from. At least just the store name. I’d like to track that a little better from the app. 4) lastly, I wish it let you see a list of all the appts scheduled instead of “arrowing” through them individually. Again, overall the app is great for what I need it for. And point #2 is the only reason I didn’t give it 4-5 stars. The other points would be nice but not much of a factor in my rating.
Frequent error making it necessary to logout/login multiple times
This is a very frustrating app. Every time I go into the app, I am able to look at the home screen for a few seconds before the frowny face. Tells me something went wrong, at which point I log out (because retry does NOT work) and login again. Same thing happens. I have to do this several times. And this seems to be the only way to make an appointment because calling the center never works. So there have been several days where I just skip donating because the app is so terrible. It seems to have gotten worse in the last few months also. After reading other reviews, any from a year ago, it is clear they are not interested in fixing this issue, so it may be time to find another donation center with more reliable software.
Doesn’t live up to the potential.
The layout and potential of this app is great but unfortunately it rarely works correctly. I can never get on the promotions page without receiving an error message and I then have to log off and back on. Lately the funds have been slow to update. I had trouble making appointments last week. I’d love to make referrals but the referral tab does not actually have a link. It just sends a text that says to donate. No way to link the referral to myself at all and no phone number or app or website for the person to know where to go to make an appointment. It’s useless. When the app works, its fabulous, but it just doesn’t get there. EVER.
Nice App but Needs A Rescheduling Option!
I just started using the app yesterday, and so far I like it a lot. I would appreciate being able to see a list of my upcoming appointments instead of only the next one—this option is available on the website. There also doesn’t seem to be any option for rescheduling an upcoming appointment—this option also is available on the website. As someone else previously mentioned, the error “something went wrong” appears way too much on the calendar tab—obviously some bugs are still crawling around on the app and need to be worked out.
Won’t let me in
Every time I click on the app it literally takes forever to even upload the usual image and the sign in features. I’m even having issues logging in which has been a tendency with this app. I have to close this app out several times before it will even let me in except this time around completely it is just giving me issues that’s why I am even giving a review.. If it would just have kept doing the other stuff I wouldn’t care as much but now this is just to much can’t even login in with my finger print which hasn’t been an issue until a few days ago like I said. Think it may need to be fixed either on my end or on the developers end
PLEASE ALLOW 2 DONATIONS TO BE SCHEDULED AT ONCE!
I actually really love this app. The speed at which it updates your card balance is particularly impressive. The only drawback is that, due to the stipulation of one day in between donations, you cannot schedule two appointments per week. I personally have to donate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I have no problem selecting a Wednesday donation that fits my schedule, however this means I have to wait until I have finished my Wednesday donation to even schedule my Saturday donation. This has resulted in me being unable to donate at times due to lack of availability from the center. Allowing two donations to be scheduled at once per week with the same stipulations of one day in between would make this app perfect.
For an overall model relying on the “convenience” of donation, and a large portion of that aspect relying on this app that it would run well BUT IT DOES NOT. I CANNOT log in more than half the time. (‘D guess in the neighborhood of 75%) Sometimes it doesn’t recognize me, sometimes it’s just stalled and never opens, sometimes it opens then stalls right away. It’s a problem so often I’m surprised when things work smooth. This means I cannot schedule appointments, check my balance, or do any of the work BioLife wants me to do for myself. There is no convenience here. Just wondering why I’m foolish enough to try again and again.
Sooo many errors
The app is incredibly intuitive & the layout is so great. But I get error messages (“oops something went wrong”) CONSTANTLY & am prompted to log out & log back in. It usually happens when I am trying to access the scheduling interface, but today I can’t even log in without getting the error. Then it tells me my login info is wrong (it’s not). When i click “forgot password” it tells me there’s no account for my email address. There’s no way around it either. It is so annoying to have to fight with this dang app to be able to use it. The amount of stuff I should be able to do is irrelevant if I can’t even use the app! Today is particularly bad but it gives me issues every single time I use it. If everything wasn’t in the app I wouldn’t even bother.
Current balance and promotions
Aside from the terms of service page, (Don’t forget to click the “Done”I button at the bottom left.), it does what it’s meant to do. It looks like they’ve integrated everything that you need in order to schedule your appointments, including child care. I love that the app gives you your current balance and transaction history. The promotions tab helps you monitor your progress with every visit, on the promotion you currently elected to take. Overall, it’s well designed and easy to use. Thanks.
Used to be good
I’ve used the BioLife app for the better part of a year, it used to be great. I could quickly get in and get a donation appointment. Recently I can’t even manage to do that. At the opening screen, pressing the current donor button does nothing and I have to wait for it to automatically log me in, then when I finally log in it’s a 50/50 chance it will bug out and force me close out of the app and reopen it. When I tried to use it today it just kept looping making me close and reopen the app. I might get to the choose a donation time screen and it would say “something went wrong” and yet again force me to reopen the app and try again. This makes me really not want to even try donating if my time is just wasted on a terrible app.

This app does work well for my Android however it would be nice if the fingerprint worked or at the very least I could have the app remember my user ID email so I don't have to type it in each time I log into the app.

Can only quote or reiterate the issues/complaints I've read so far.. can't get in, locked out (former app worked like a breeze), etc. I'll just show up & tell them apps not working, let them deal w/it. 👎👎👎
