I loved the old app so much. The layout, the colors, everything was so nice. I especially loved how user-friendly it was, as I’m not that good with technology. However, when they updated GateCityBank on September 24, 2024, that’s when I started to dislike GateCityBank. I understand change is inevitable and I understand every app must get updated, but usually when apps are updated they’re updated for the best, not the worst. And in this case it’s for the worst. The layout is very confusing. There’s way more options than there were before, it’s constantly logging me out, so I have to continuously log myself back in. Sometimes when I am logged in and I click on something it will log me out. Overall, GateCityBank is not user-friendly and it’s not something that I would recommend people use. Please stick to the online version rather than using GateCityBank , at least they didn’t change that.
I have never seen such a poor update ever. Why “fix” what isn’t broken?!? I have used GCB for so many years and have never been let down with the mobile app that would lead me to leave a review! There are countless things I do not like but my biggest is that so often GateCityBank doesn’t even work and I get a white screen when I go to open GateCityBank . I have had to delete GateCityBank and download fresh to get it to work for me too many times. Please revert back to the old app! This doesn’t even feel like a GCB app anymore. :(
If you’re going to make an update to a working app, please make sure GateCityBank doesn’t break. I’ve had several technical issues that I just had to wait out such as checking my updated balance after making a purchase given and after was given false information on my balance. Please quickly adjust whatever is wrong with GateCityBank .
Everything about gate city bank, GateCityBank and the people are amazing, i just wish i could get my paychecks on Tuesday instead of Wednesday
Overall a good app except for taking photos for mobile deposit. Trying to take a photo of the back of a check and getting it accepted in the first three goes is impossible for me.
The recent update is functionally pointless as it broke the log in.
When trying to enter my info to log back in after the update it tells me it can’t find my record (?) which shouldn’t be hard bc I’m giving you my SSN.
But it is hard, they can’t do it, I have bills to pay and GateCityBank doesn’t function on its most basic level.
It wouldn’t be an issue if GateCityBank , I don’t know, didn’t get a functionally pointless ui update.
Gate City is by far the best bank I have ever done business with ! The Dickinson branch has amazing customer service that is always available to help or answer any questions.. “I highly recommend Gate City”
I love the new update, and especially like the financial wellness and new card functionality. I’ve used it to easily audit my subscriptions and cancel a few I was no longer using, and the savings goals are neat.

The best part about GateCityBank, is the mobile deposit device.
I’ve used a variety of others, but this one seems to be far more accurate than all the other bank apps.
Before the update GateCityBank felt old and outdated now it’s amazing and everything feels newer!

I like it that we have a high security system on it but could we find an easier way to get logged in on your phone? I have to remember Codes that you put in makes it harder to access fast
