I had a very poor experience with Casa. I was initially misled to believe that the $10,000/year subscription was the only one. Only after I said that was far too much did they mention a $2,100/year option. I thought that sounded more reasonable, but at no point was I told there were lower-tier plans available.
I purchased the $2,100/year subscription, then later found out they also offered $250 and $1,000 options. I hadn’t even used any of the services yet, and a couple weeks later I told them that I was misled into thinking the $2,100 and $10,000 options were the only ones.
At that point, I asked to switch to the $1,000/year plan. They basically brushed me off. I had to reach out again, this time telling them that I’d be more comfortable just eating the $2,100 and never using any of their services and never renewing again if they wouldn’t allow the downgrade. Still, they refused.
I told them if they want to be cutthroat and just take the money, fine, but they won’t be getting my business again. It says a lot about a company that would rather mislead and alienate customers just to grab more money upfront, instead of working with them to build long-term trust. I would’ve been a lifelong customer.
They turned down a $1,100 refund, money they would have recouped the following year, and in doing so, lost what could have been $40,000-$50,000 over the years.
Not a good look for a company that expects people to trust them with long-term security to be so short-sighted..
