Video player has no controls

It seems that the video player has no control other than pause. I emailed the company several ti es and tried to ask through FB messenger but I get no response. Also, there is no help section in StrengthTraining to learn how to work things. The videos and content are pretty good but it’s a lot of money to be frustrated with the playback restrictions. You can’t go back or forwards 15 seconds and you can’t adjust the playback speed. Or, it seems like you can’t. I’ll never know because there is no customer support. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Plus, StrengthTraining crashed over 14 times in 1 hour. I ended up messaging them through their FB page to ask them to notify their customer support team that I have been emailing. The social media numbskulls keep telling me to “email customer service” as if they can’t understand my words that say I have been emailing customer service. What a circus.

Needs an offline option for Mac

UPDATE: To the developer,
Thank you for your response! I saw videos can be down loaded off line, this is a nice option. Is there anyway to view the anatomy section off line to use as a reference? Thank you again for your response, I look forward to your updates for mac next month.

If the developer reads this, do you have a time frame for when an app eill be available for mac computers?

I love StrengthTraining, it’s one of the most thorough and complete kinesiology related tools I’ve used to date. My only reason for taking off two stars, is there is no offline option for mac.

I realized after purchasing StrengthTraining , it was going to be highly inconvenient to constantly work online and be at the mercy of my internet speed or connection where ever I chose to used the program while working on my computer. While I love the program, this is a must for the price of this to be able to work offline on one’s mac.

I have seen a few other feedback similar to mine and it looks like the developer is working on this. I can’t wait for the ability to work offline! I hope it happens soon, I just bought a year subscription.

Mandatory for School

StrengthTraining theoretically is great. Except, the search function is broken. This is really frustrating when compounded with no ability to sort results, only a crude filter capability. My instructor for my resistance training course with ASU lists the exercises verbatim per module on the syllabus, and I search the exact terms. The entire list of exercises that uses only one single key word from the phrase I typed. For example, I search “front squat” or “front squat (dumbbell)” and every single squat exercise listed on StrengthTraining shows up. Worse, my target searched exercise is regularly toward the end of the list, making me sift through the entire listing for the correct exercise for my course work. Exhausting. Please fix this.

Great App

I just started using StrengthTraining and it great. My only issue (after signing up for a yearly subscription) is that under the exercise section. There’s an option to filter by what equipment you have. The filter function doesn’t seem to update the list. I set all the equipment I have and then the first few exercises it suggested required sliders (not selected).

Not a deal breaker and I’m sure an easy fix, but only reason -1 star. Overall very informative and easy to use.

I really like this app, but…

I really like StrengthTraining, but thing I wish the developer can do better is allow us to zoom in and out and move the body up and down. For example when I go to the head and neck it’s annoying to just see a close up view of the back the head and upper taps. I would like to be able to zoom in and out and see the bigger picture. Or when I click on the “trap” - it cuts off the upper traps. I find this be extremely distracting so I find that I have to use another app the get a better picture.

Please update!

Great app but ran into a glitch in the paid upgrade process

Update: I received great customer service and now it’s working as it should.

StrengthTraining is wonderful for learning about strength training and is worth the money for the plan without the ability to add clients. I am not happy because I paid to be able to build workout programs for two clients but StrengthTraining won’t allow me to add anyone. I updated StrengthTraining , force closed it, logged out and back in- nothing worked to allow me to add clients. Every time I try to add a client, I am told I need to upgrade. When I click the upgrade button, it reminds me that I already paid to upgrade.

It’s been eight hours since I paid and although I was supposed to have immediate access, I was not able to send my client a program - just individual videos like I could do without paying extra.

Amazing Guide

A highly informational, detailed, and educational guide and indispensable tool for human movement and biomechanics. My only critique is that they offer different sections (eg. Anatomy, Posture, Strength Training, Yoga) that you have to pay separately for. I remember using this years ago when it wasn’t compartmentalized like this. It sort of feels like those are paywalls and it’s just unfortunate they aren’t included in my purchase. Otherwise, its great and love this company! Been using this for years!

One of the best Anatomy apps for strength

I have found nothing like StrengthTraining that takes an exercise and shows the muscles at the upper and deeper levels of my body. It is very educational and has shined some unobvious weaknesses that I have to compensate for through injuries I have. Without StrengthTraining I would not have understood muscles and areas of my body that were affected by exercises I was doing. If you are a diehard exercise person that wants to improve your health. This is a must have application it doesn’t require a medical degree. It talks and exercise language and shows live working example and animated example of the muscles being used and how to do the exercise in the gym. Try this you’ll love it.

Newbie Personal Trainer

I love StrengthTraining 's demonstrations, like how I can set up the workout for others. It definitely helps me practice to become a PT, as I'm currently studying to be a NASM-CPT. It gives all the correct information along with more. This is definitely a great app to learn and use if you're a trainer or just want to learn body movement. Also, the videos break down what body part you're doing and the action.

Essential App

I love StrengthTraining! I’m a personal trainer and use it not only for helping with exercise selection with my clients, but for guidance on how to cue proper form. Additionally, when clients have aches, pains, pulls, etc., I can look at the 3D muscle diagrams and get an idea what might be going on so I can tailor exercise selection. Finally, it’s just a fun way to learn about body mechanics!

Best app for training

I use StrengthTraining on a regular basis to learn new exercises and proper form. The videos clearly show targeted muscle groups, form, and alternative exercises. As a personal trainer I use StrengthTraining to keep my skills sharp. The videos are excellent, providing accurate information. The “common mistakes” videos are helpful in illustrating what not to do, especially when learning a new exercise.

Fantastic for Rehab/Pre-hab Exercises

If you’ve ever used the muscle-wiki website, StrengthTraining is like that but 1000x better. I got this initially because I needed some exercises to strengthen one of the minor muscles in my back due to a repetitive injury, and I wasn’t in the position to go to a physical therapist. Now I use this for all of my rehabilitation and pre-habilitation work. It’s fantastic, and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Sooooo helpful and great resources!!

I love StrengthTraining!! This has truly helped me to feel comfortable and confident during my workouts, while remembering what muscles are being facilitated, which helps me to remember what to engage/focus on. I learn best visually and this has been great!!! StrengthTraining is resourceful for fitness trainers, healthcare professionals and nonprofessionals (where you’re on your own learning to do things more properly). Thank you for always updating StrengthTraining and showing creative and standard exercises!

Fantastic!

I have used StrengthTraining for over 8 years. It was good when I started using it, and it just keeps getting better and better! There is so much that you can learn that is applicable immediately for yourself, and your clients. Most injuries, barring traumatic injury, are due to muscle imbalances and poor mechanics. Strength by Muscle & Motion is an excellent way to address both muscle imbalances and poor mechanics in a very effective manner.

Phenomenal Resource

As a personal trainer, I love StrengthTraining for several reasons. One being that I can find a wealth of ideas in order to create interesting and effective workouts. Another is the excellent way it breaks down muscle mechanics and movement. This visual proves to be an excellent way to help educate my clients on how and why certain exercises benefit their physical wellbeing and overall health. I highly recommend StrengthTraining as well as the others related to this.

Love this app!

I’m a personal trainer and I love Muscle & Motion! Whether I’m on my phone, iPad or lap top I can look up exercises or stretches for any muscle group, or see detailed anatomy videos. This makes it so much easier to understand muscular anatomy than trying to just memorize muscles and try to imagine them moving (or technically, causing movement). Not cheap but 100% worth it IMO. I’ve had a subscription for 3-4 years now and I’ll continue to subscribe for the foreseeable future

Must Have

After almost 10 years of weightlifting, I began experiencing joint pain. I realized that I've been doing things all wrong, so I went to square one and began to learn how our bodies actually work. StrengthTraining is able to teach me everything I'm learning from my physical therapist, including the proper posture and common mistakes. I recommend StrengthTraining with a good book like Built From Broken to understand how our muscles work and minimize the injuries.

So helpful

Great app for helping me enhance my muscle memory and activation when doing strength and mobility exercises. I have a hard time activating certain muscles (as we all do if we’re not trained to), and I’m trying to tackle those issues to decrease lower back and knee pain when running. The visuals here make that a lot easier. Way better than watching someone else do an exercise at the gym, and helps me see which muscles are responsible for different pain points or tightness.

BEST EXERCISE APP OUT HERE!

I’ve been using StrengthTraining since the beginning phases. As a Heath and Fitness instructor, StrengthTraining is irreplaceable. It provides comprehensive information on exercises that includes correct form! The illustrations and real life animation is simply impeccable! Thank you for your continued knowledge and application! It is always my go to. The BEST!
And it CONTINUES to get better AND BETTER! ..with audio and new material being added frequently. I have come to respect and rely on the brilliance and dedicated research development of the creators of StrengthTraining. StrengthTraining is still the BEST by far. I am forever a fan.

Great app

I am a Pilates instructor and fitness professional. StrengthTraining has helped me show my clients what body part is being used when in action. It is difficult to show exactly the body parts when being used to clients so StrengthTraining has helped for them to see and visualize the body parts that is being used. It really is a great app, keep up the great work.
