Your Basketball Game In Focus...For The First Time Ever!

The this app App is absolutely amazing! I use it everyday to track my basketball workouts. You can compete in periodic challenges with players all over the world or increase your skills each day to rise to the tops of the leaderboards. The Nex Team has developed a world class app that they continue to enhance with new features. If you play basketball and have an iOS device then you must have HomeCourt. The Nex Team is very responsive to user feedback and have an outstanding support staff. You can sense that they are passionate about their app and are eager to help. They even responded to my emails on the weekends over the Christmas holidays - you can’t get any more dedicated than that! Thank you Nex Team for what you have created so far. I cannot wait to see where you take us. I’ll keep shooting around, you keep pushing the limits of technology to capture my workouts in innovative new ways and give me new ways to measure my skillset. Deal? ;)

I loved the app before......

I loved HomeCourt before the update where you need to pay money for the trial. I actually thought that I would get on my schools basketball team but now there are barley any games to do that require basketball that fare open. And I can’t even train on the beginner 5 minute workout I could only do the dribble basics !!! It makes me sad that now I am forced to pay. And I loved HomeCourt before because all of the games were unlocked and I understand that you need money but 8 dollars per month??? That seems expensive to me. And I was on the leaderboard for spilt step math in fifteenth place and I was the only girl on the leader board but after the update it did not show me on the leaderboard!!! I checked and I did not get beaten by somebody and they took over 15th place and stole my spot. Now I can not do split step math and show that a girl can be on the leaderboard too.

Good at first but then fustrating!!!

I downloaded HomeCourt cause I love bbal and I practice a lot so I thought why not get better? So I downloaded it and it was great it had a bunch of different categories to choose form to practice so I did ball handling and I crushed it!! So then I thought why don’t I try conditioning and this is where I started hating HomeCourt . So it said track your push-ups, jumping jacks, high knees and so on so I did pushups and I started doing them it didn’t even count one!!! Ridiculous!! So I was like how about jumping jacks once again another mistake I started doing them and it didn’t even count one! So I’m starting to get fed up so then I do ball handling again and I started doing all the moves and I didn’t even count one! I’m so fed up with HomeCourt! Don’t even get me started in the ball height routine because that was just a nightmare it was like low and I was doing it and it was like you’re doing it wrong wrong and I was doing it with the right hand HomeCourt is a piece of crap don’t get it unless you have a lot of patience which I don’t! Not getting this again!

My favorite app but leaderboards need moderating

Let me start by saying this is without question my #1 app that I use and it synergizes great with my iphone/apple watch/airpods. I play basketball 3x per week minimum and this has motivated me to turn a simple shoot around session in to a 1500+ calorie burning session. I lost 25 lbs over the past 3 months and this app has been integral to my success.

My one and only gripe is the leaderboards need some more attention, I was excited for some of the shooting drills, particularly “around the arc” (3 pt shooting drill) but more often than not the #1-#5 on the leaderboards are people basically cheating or its a 10 year old kid shooting closer to the hoop on a small rim. I’m 33 years old, I would hope that my competition would be equal and or fair. Maybe age brackets?

Still, my favorite app, I work for (without saying names) a huge cell phone company and I enthusiastically inform my customers about HomeCourt. Thanks for what you guys have created.

Great idea, mostly good execution

Overall, HomeCourt does a valiant job at tracking. However, three main issues:

1) Battery issues. It’s logical that HomeCourt would eat battery like crazy; and while that does happen, it’s understandable. However, HomeCourt somehow causes the battery estimator to go crazy. I started with 50 percent battery, and just two minutes later my phone said I was at 1 percent. I plugged in my charger, then about two minutes later it said I was back at 45 percent. Not sure if it’s HomeCourt or the phone.

2) Overheating. I have an 8 plus, so age has something to do with it, but in order for HomeCourt to work on full power without slowing down or missing things, I have to take the phone out of its case AND run a desk fan to blow air across it. Otherwise after about five minutes HomeCourt slows down, misses actions, and overall creates a frustrating experience. Once it overheats, I have to take the phone off HomeCourt , let it rest for a couple minutes, then resume. Again, probably not all HomeCourt ’s fault, since it does require a lot of processing power.

3) Had trouble dealing with hand movements. On the agility training, occasionally will miss hands hitting targets very far away. Again, likely due to phone overheating.

Overall, a promising app with a few frustrations here and there, but if you temper expectations, it’s a great companion app for working out.

My Favorite App on My Phone

this app gives me the motivation to exercise every day doing something I love. The variety and the challenges offered through HomeCourt give me something to look forward to everyday.
My game has improved over the past year as I’ve consistently used this app. Every part of my game has been taken to the next level. The pay off came when I had the chance to start playing in games. My confidence level had increased tremendously because of the hours and hour I spent using this app. This was evident in the games I played and marked differences in my stats from last year to this year.
Download HomeCourt and get playing if you want to have a fun challenging way to take your game to the next level.

Fun but has some issues

I live using it, am waiting to get a basketball so I can try out the shooting portions. But, in the leaderboards it is just little kids cheating half the time. For example, in the split step reaction for agility leaderboard, kids just sit on chairs, then cris-cross their legs back and forth and barely have to reach to hit the green targets. I find myself constantly reporting these attempts, but I Don’t want to have to do that non stop. I suggest you guys get some moderators so that they can actually look at the leaderboard and ban those people who are cheating. It makes me mad because I am so confused as to why? They are just cheating themselves. Anyways, it’s a great app, sometimes is hard to set up and get a good spot, but that isn’t the apps fault. Make it harder for kids to cheat, and also have some moderators or someone checking and banning the people who are cheating.

HomeCourt experience

HomeCourt is great! I love all the shooting ball handling etc activities that they have. I have mainly used ball handling and I had no issues what so ever. I used it every day for a month until I got on today, it told me I needed to update HomeCourt . I did not thinking much of it, when I went into HomeCourt a lot changed. I still was able to do my workout but a lot of my features were taken away that I really enjoyed to use. This included the skill rating, how to view my workouts and much more. I dislike how I had HomeCourt and had those features and in an update with no warning they were taken away from me. I would love some of those key features back without having to pay 70 dollars a year for an app. Overall I love HomeCourt and just hope they change a couple things.

Inaccurate

The idea of HomeCourt is very good in my opinion. It gives you plenty of activities to do and it is really good exercise. However it is very inaccurate in the shooting area. I just completed a drill that required thirty shots from the elbow and when I was finished it had said that I had only taken nineteen shoots and that half of them were threes. In all fairness I was not using a tripod but I do believe it should be able to track free throws, layups, and floaters accurately without one. Shooting isn’t the only region where HomeCourt falls short. Ball handling is very frustrating to complete with a decent time because it dose not count all of your dribbles! It is one of the most frustrating things to see. On top of that, it drains your battery and the screen turns black sometimes when I am doing exercises that require the screen lol. Overall I think it is a really fun app, but without the right gear, it can be pretty frustrating.

The Best Basketball Video Game of All Time.

I was sitting on my couch, playing 2K, listening to the NBA Street Vol. 2 soundtrack, when I felt this urge to play a different game. The day before, I wanted to go hoop but couldn’t because of quarantine, so instead, I downloaded HomeCourt and did a couple of dribbling drills. I’ve never in my life felt like I was truly the main character in a video game, but this app? It made me feel like that. I am the one earning my badges, I am the one getting faster, stronger, and quicker. I had tried this app a year ago but where it is now compared to then is night and day. HomeCourt turns the mirror on your MyPlayer. If your virtual player has got all the skills and you don’t, then get on it. No VC required.

Simply Amazing...but one suggestion

I’ve never written an app review but I just had to for HomeCourt because it is that incredible. I wish something like this existed when I was learning the game. The accuracy and simplicity are jaw dropping. To be able to keep stats on shootarounds like this is beyond helpful. The games look fun and can’t wait to try some of them out.

One suggestion: come out with a ball that can be tracked to a player. That way more than one person can be shooting on the hoop at the same time and still have stats tracked. But make sure it’s a high quality ball. Only downside is that my daughter and I have to take turns or we have to be on separate hoops.

Amazing, motivational, but needs more content

This is a great app, the motivates you to work harder, so does the leaderboard. HomeCourt will motivate to become better, and if you want to be on the leaderboard you have to put in the work, working is for winners, champions, legends. #mamba mentality
HomeCourt does tell me if I should have more arc and/or a quicker release, after this Coronavirus pandemic ends this will help me perfect my shooting, because that’s something I need to work on.

The only thing I would like is for HomeCourt to have program, like a jump program, a speed program, strength program, film study and videos with scoring moves. That would be an awesome update. Overall I just need more stuff to do.

Best training app for basketball

Its really great, I can see how much they put work into HomeCourt for us so that we can train and get better each day. Best basketball training app, nothing can beat it, this is going to help all hoopers. But if they could add no dribble handle drills, because I cant dribble in the house, and I live in Chicago and its cold and snowing this time of the year. So I cant dribble outside without a big coat on, I dont want to have any excuses to get better so could you add no dribble workouts for us that cant dribble in the house or outside this time of year, that would make it 5 star fr and thank you fir making HomeCourt! Stay on the grind yall 💪🏽🏀

Great app

I love HomeCourt honestly. 2.9 update is amazing finally!!! I usually wait all day or half day to get a court alone even if a wait it gets too dark. This update knows who you are and tracks YOUR shots, not other 6 people on the court and wasting your balls (your currency for amount of shot you can have). HomeCourt has drills and events that are really fun and good prizes that make you push yourself harder. What I would recommend that there should be people commenting on your shots and a slow motion tracking of your form to get the best out of you. We need more events and fun stuff on the feed. ✊🏻Besides that I would recommend this to any hooper!!!✊🏻

Frustrating

HomeCourt has its ups and downs. Expecially the dribbling drills. I’m doing the 10s one where you switch between crossovers, left and right hand, and I’m getting scores like 30+ seconds because it doesn’t count most of the dribbles. I really try to enjoy HomeCourt but honestly find it frustrating. And most of the shooting doesn’t work either. If you want to get help for basketball, I would advise getting some sort of trainer. Whether it’s irl or it’s some sort of online training, take that over this. It’s too inconsistent. If your going to pay for an online service, I would highly recommend egt. I am using them rn and have this a go and got frustrated way too easily when I was essentially being cheated.

Best and only app of its kind

Like the title says HomeCourt is in a league of its own it’s got so many different workouts for any kind of situation (hoop, home dribbling, conditioning) I can’t find a single bad part of HomeCourt it’s overall pretty much perfect just one thing I feel like users would enjoy is being able to mute the sounds that come with making a shot or the little coin sound every single dribble, it gets annoying cause I’m always listening to music if I’m working out, other than that though, HomeCourt is perfect.

Just one problem

HomeCourt is absolutely the best app for anything basketball wise, but I have just one problem. I downloaded HomeCourt two days ago, and It worked great for an hour and a half. Now, I am sent back to my home screen after using this app for 2 minutes. It has done this on my IPad Mini and my iPhone 12 Mini. After two minutes of use I am kicked out of HomeCourt every time. I have made sure my devices are updated to the latest iOS version, and I have deleted and reinstalled HomeCourt . I have really enjoyed using HomeCourt, but now I am unable to get just two minutes of time on it. This rating would be a 5 star if I could figure out how to make it work.

People who cheat and does not count your dribbles that’s much.

There are people who cheat and like still get on the leaderboard word can get back on the leaderboard like they should be banned for like a week or two to learn their lesson well sometimes they keep doing it and it’s annoying to get on the leaderboard and to pretend like you’re very good on the leaderboard but like it’s just dumb because I have to work very hard to get a good score on my drill and they just use cheats like crossovers and they still get their drill like all done in all good and a very good score that goes on the leaderboard like I saw one video where this kid did you have a basics and all he needed to do is crossovers and the dribble basics it doesn’t count my left or right sometimes my crossover dribbles it says wrong hand

Setting up issues

I really like HomeCourt I’ve only used twice the setting up process is really confusing to me we moved into a new house that has a standard basketball goal , when I’m setting it up I would prefer HomeCourt to be in a horizontal view instead of in an panoramic view because the goal is facing way from me at a straight view I understand that HomeCourt need to be able to see me and the basketball goal itself , I would prefer HomeCourt to be able to use in airplane mode because it would make it easier to save data since I don’t have any WiFi at the moment , also I feel like isn’t catching me where I’m shooting the ball from in the current area or it would pick it up from the right place , so otherwise I love HomeCourt and I love everything about it .

Love the app by my iPhone 6s overheats

HomeCourt really works and I think is only going to continue to improve based on the recent updates I’ve seen.

HOWEVER, I have a an iPhone 6s and my phone overheats when using Shot Science (I actually get a warning on my phone that it’s overheating and I can’t use it again until it cools down). I paid for the full subscription, but can’t really use it because of this. My phone did not overheat when I was using the free version without Shot Science, but started overheating once I paid for the full subscription and started using Shot Science. Is it possible to turn Shot Science off, or add a middle-tier subscription service where you get unlimited shots per month but don’t get the Shot Science technology?

Best app

Update: Five stars now up from 4, just an amazing app if you love to shoot around and crave data.

I have one suggestion, don’t know if anyone else relates. I personally shoot on two courts, one outdoor, one indoor, as the door one is not always available to me. So outdoor double rim, sometimes with wind, I just don’t have the same stats. I would love the ability to separate workout data for different types of courts. Outside my FT% is 20% lower than when I’m inside, would love to try to raise them both independent of one another.

I absolutely love HomeCourt. Total game changer in motivating me to get out there and work on my shot.

Perfect App!!!!

I used HomeCourt training my 13 year old today and I’m blown away. This is the missing piece to his workouts.
I called my son who is currently playing Division 1 basketball and told him to download this immediately. This allows him to monitor his form during his individual workouts and make corrections.
I contacted support for a little set up assistance and the response was quick and clear.
I hope when HomeCourt really catches on it will be beneficial and remain affordable to kids. HomeCourt can change a lot of kids games for the better.

Needs one thing

This overall a great app. I only tried it once and it’s already good! Although when I recorded it, it showed in my profile which I didn’t want people looking at. U guys should make a private account where it doesn’t show the video bc I wanna see my progress of my shooting but I do not want other people to see the video. Or u developers could make an option of making our videos private or not but it still shows the stats. I hope u Guys see this and make tht a thing thanks for making a great app. :)

Fantastic app. So easy to set up and use

I couldn’t believe how easy it was to use HomeCourt. Usually, I have to roughly keep track of my own shots when I go to the gym. HomeCourt does so much. The heat map and streak features are amazing. I’ve been playing basketball for fun for 20 years and never seen anything this lightweight and simple. Unbelievable display of tech. Love seeing my own progress and watching video. Love that it took a minute to set up and it’s very accurate. Would definitely pay for this, so that it’s free is a huge bonus.

By

Very good app

If you are looking for a good app to track your shots, this is the one. You don’t need to tap anything like most shot trackers. For me I got to shoot 1000 shots a month till I had to pay. But it is definitely worth it. It tracks shot percentages, shot chart, your vertical, release time, and gives you workouts! And many more things. Don’t listen to the 1 star reviews, they just don’t want to figure it out, most times you can just email them or go to the website. GET HomeCourt!

8 dollars a month for unlimited shots.

Almost Perfect

As a basketball junkie, I’ve been looking for ways to improve my game. This technology is revolutionary and probably one of the greatest apps I’ve ever used from a practicality stand point. The only thing is that the tracking system does have flaws but very minor. I just shot 167 attempts today and from what I could tell, only a few were tracked incorrectly. It would be be nice if we had the ability to change a miss into a make or vice-versa. Still the tracking is 95% on point.

Once was my favorite app

I used HomeCourt all the time a few months back. I decided to start using it again in my free time and realized all the cool updates they made to HomeCourt . I was happy to use it I went home and realized that a once free app had turned to requiring money or you could only use it once a month, not even once considering I can put up a thousand shots a day.

Decided to write this review when yesterday a notification popped up on my screen saying “what’s stopping you from getting 200 shots up this weekend?”. It was ironic because I was thinking you are what’s stopping me app with your 300 shot limitation.

By

Love this app

I remember seeing this in one of Apple’s keynotes. I tracked about 30 minutes of shots for the first time and decided to keep my monthly subscription.

However, that 30 minute workout is 1.3gb on my phone. I exported the video but obviously I can’t keep doing this or I’ll fill my phone up in a couple weeks. Please let there be a way to keep your workout and session stats but delete the video to preserve space.

Great Resource until...

I really love HomeCourt when I first started using it and love to set it up when I go to shoot at the gym. However, just as of recently HomeCourt has begun to crash on me when my workout has gone roughly over an hour… This didn’t used to happen and I don’t know why it started happening but it is somewhat frustrating, as I have lost multiple workouts now due to this issue. PLEASE FIX

Anthony’s Ball Is Life

Great App, I’ve use Bluetooth connected basketballs in the past to track shots,
This is just as accurate if not more accurate, I’ve yet to use it with a 5ft Tripod. But I’m sure the accuracy at that level is near perfect.
I'd definitely recommend for anyone trying to improve there shot. I use the videos to watch and correct deficiencies in my form.
Not to mention I no longer need to count in my head to keep up.

Love this app

HomeCourt is AMAZING it has helped me so much with learning how to improve my shot. The contests are amazing and it is even cooler that you can win real prizes. Another thing is these people actually care sending out surveys on how can they improve their app. What’s even better is they make actual improvements and not just bug and performance issues have been fixed anyway awesome job guys👍
