Best Workout App
First off, I fell in love with Gymshark brand last year and even more so when Lulia on Instagram became one of their athletes (she’s amazing) so I jumped at being part of the app. I love being able to search a wide variety of exercises and a lot that can be done at home or gym ones can be modified for at home. You can follow their current athletes workouts or make your own. I think my fav part of the app though is how easy it is when you start a workout to go through it with how many sets/reps to your liking, how much weight being used etc. it’s just a breeze and makes keeping track of what I’m doing so much easier than texting it on the iPhone notepad 🙄 thank you Gymshark! But I gave it one less star because I’d like to see more athletes and over time maybe some other variations of workouts otherwise it may get dull on that part of it.
Loving this app - a few suggestions
I’m loving everything about this app so far. To keep improving it I would love for there to be a place to keep track of body measurements to how that progresses and changes with my workouts. Also I wish when adding an exercise to the library I could add a description or explanation of the exercise and that I could also change the details of the exercise after it is created. Finally I wish there was a way to see what all muscle groups I have hit in the week based on the exercises logged to see if I missed something or just for a general overview. Loving the app and can’t wait to see what y’all do next!
So far I love the app! Everything is great. The only thing I was wondering that you could add is something to make tracking maybe a little more faster and easier ? What I was thinking is. If you do chest day and you track it then the following week, you did chest day again but no increase in weight or reps or sets. I would like to see a function to just click what you logged in the past and just be able to log it again if you did nothing different. If that makes sense? That way, you don’t have to sit there and put in all the reps and sets manually if it was the same workout.
Great and functional!
It’s really great to see what some of Gymshark’s athletes are doing and it helps set a template for creating your own workouts! Plus a lot of workouts have videos so if you are just starting up and are unsure on how to do a workout you are given an example on how to do the workout correctly. The only room for review that I see as needed is that when you remove workouts from your plan during a workout they seem to reappear. Another thing that would be cool to see is a social element so that we are able to encourage, inspire and be inspired by what our peers in the industry are doing. Thanks!
Easily worth the price
Just started using this about two weeks ago and I absolutely love it. The workouts by the coaches are great and the way it tracks your progress is great as well. However, I would like it if I didn’t have to find the plan I’m on every time. Unless I’m not finding a way to do this, it does become an annoyance going through the plans to pick the one I’m currently on. Also, it would be nice if it told you what week you were on in a 6 week plan! Just tracking workouts better would make this 5 stars. Still, easily worth the price!
Great app - almost everything I need
So far this app is great. I like the ability to either follow or create your own workouts/workout plans. Also, it has a pretty impressive selection of workouts and videos to demonstrate how to perform the workout, which I really enjoy. I do wish that they had some traditional cardio options to help me round out my routine within the app. For now I just do cardio and can’t log my runs, biking, or swimming. In my opinion, adding some of these traditional cardio options would complete the workout/plan feature. Overall, great app.
Nice workout plans but app needs a lot of work
I was really excited about this app and i guess i had high hopes for it. First of all the plans are great; i like how it also breaks down your workouts by specific muscle groups, for example instead of just legs, you have the option to look up quads, glutes, hamstrings. That’s wonderful. What i am very annoyed is unlike other apps such as Strong it does not connect to your health app, activity app let alone your Apple Watch alone. This is a big no-no since while I’m at the gym i use my watch as a tracker and i love my health app for keeping track of calories, cardio and so on. Hopefully this will change otherwise I’m just going back to my Strong app.
Great app! Can’t wait for more features!
The only reason the app didn’t get 5 stars from me is because before I got the app I would use a self made table on apple notes. My table allowed me to quickly see what weight I did last week for each exercise because it was in the row above. However the app does not yet support this kind of feature during your workout, but I know they are constantly working towards new features for the app and will add something similar eventually. Great community to be a part of!
Love the app
Absolutely a great app! Would highly recommend...something that might be added to make it even better is maybe putting a weight tracker also..maybe a place to input your weight, body mass, even body measurements along with the date to keep better track of your body as it transforms...maybe even a video on how to properly measure different sections of the body the right way along with the body tracker...just a suggestion but it’s a great app regardless!!
Great design and function!
Always looking for easier ways to track my workouts. This is so much better than anything else I’ve used. Huge kudos to gymshark for creating something that benefits not only experienced weightlifters but those who are also just starting out. This app has helped my workouts become more efficient, safer (the videos are a good reminder of proper form), and more fun. Proud of gymshark for releasing something that helps people live healthier and happier lives :)
Good, minor improvements wanted, not needed
This app is pretty great when it comes to building and maintaining your own exercises. You can interface and add workouts that are and aren’t on the premade list, my only issue is that it’s hard to move around work outs after their added during the creation of a new work out. How they did workouts was also cool. You can put how much you actually did during your circuit or set.
Problem with 1 Rep Max Calculations
One of my biggest issues is the way 1 rep maxes are calculated in the app. If I do a set of 315x8, the app says that my max for that lift is 315. A system should be implemented that calculates 1 rep maxes based on reps, the way that the JEFIT app does. JEFIT even congratulates you when you hit a new PR, for example if my personal best is a set of 315 for 8 reps, and one day I complete 315 for a set of 10, JEFIT then calculates my new 1 rep max, and congratulates me on the new pr. I think that would be a perfect addition, and is the only thing keeping me from using the Gymshark app as my primary workout tracker.
i love this app so much, I wanted to find a good app that can help me understand what exercises focus on which part of the body. The custom plans are categorized so easy, and it gives video samples and instructions, which I love. for people who want to look into starting a routine or simply want to start working out, but don’t know where to start, I would definitely recommend this app. there are so many positives about this app.
I love this app so much! Through the whole beta launch I loved it! Some days I didn’t know what to workout or didn’t really want to and it was super easy to just go into the app choose and athlete and use the workout plan provided! It’s helped me track how much stronger I’ve gotten and it’s kept me going! I would recommend this app to anyone who is just starting to workout, it won’t disappoint you!
I was so excited for Whitney Simmons to have a bunch of workouts in one place! Love her workouts and the workouts she put up on the app! Gymshark definitely makes it a lot easier to track the workout and has a timer for in between sets! Love it. I only give it 4 starts because some of the workouts say ‘s’ in them but doesn’t say what the second exercise is within that exercise
