I’ve not really had a chance to see how well this works because I’m not convinced AURAApp has been working since I got it. And since I got it AURAApp just seems to have gotten more broken, specifically the update three weeks ago which removed my goal and when I tried to update it back to what it was before I’m presented with three options, which are all the same option. Going into advanced, it won’t allow me to set the option I want. After taking measurements I get a “congrats” message saying I reached my goal but my stats have been the exact same since I got the strap the week after Easter. So, does it work? Who knows but Id have to image that my stats should have changed, especially when I’ve seen a marked visual physical change. I’ve been told the issue will be fixed in the next update but who knows when the update will happen. That never got answered. For now, I’d say save your money.
Update 3.5.1: I was able to set my goal back up but now I’m getting Bad Data errors every time I try to take a reading, which wasn’t a problem before (although given I got the same reading every time before, maybe I just wasn’t getting the errors).
All being said, I’m still not convinced this works but will update again in the coming weeks as I attempt to use it again.
Do NOT ever buy this piece of garbage! The product itself is a CHEAPLY made hunk of crap and AURAApp is almost as bad! The company did offer me a refund after I complained to them... BUT it’s not worth my time returning AND I felt I needed to warn others about this horrible product so they do not waste their money or time on something so cheap, poorly made and inaccurate. ALSO the band (with the oversized CHEAP sensor on your wrist) is too small for the parts that holds it to your watch... the band slides side to side and since it’s so cheap the band hops/jumps giving you the sense that your watch is giving you a notification... and it’s not! YET AGAIN this “product” is the most worthless waste of money and time I have EVER seen!!! OH... AND!!! You need to be in a SILENT room using two hands about an inch away from your phone’s microphone to take an inaccurate “reading” that doesn’t register 95% of the time. When it does POSSIBLY read something it’s so off that my doctors laugh and shake their head! BTW I’m a nurse in a sports medicine facility with the United States Army!
Purchased 2 of these for the wife and I and neither of the bands work. Tried installing and reinstalling still can’t get it to work. Highly disappointing as I was looking forward to using the data. I guess I wasted $300.
Got a response to each out to customer support . Did that 2 weeks ago and still haven’t received a reply. I have changed the batteries but still working. Keeps telling me that there is no charge just feel that the product just doesn’t work. Very misleading. Should be able to sell a product that doesn’t work. To the point I will take legal action to get my money back if company not willing to stand behind their product and replace it. But first need to have customer service response. I won’t hold me breath.
I can’t even give a review for the strap because AURAApp won’t let me login. I thought it didn’t create my account but then entered my email and password I created. It just spins. I was curious as to how long it would just spin without logging me in and finally gave it up after 3 hours and 20 minutes - I just let it go while I was working on some school work. I tried deleting and reloading AURAApp , turning my phone off, making sure everything was up to date, and contacting customer service. So far no contact back and it still won’t let me login. From my point of view the product is not the problem, AURAApp is. But since I can’t use the product without AURAApp , it’s useless. If I could have left 0 stars, I would have.
I was so excited for this device but having used it I’m so disappointed. This product, app, and customer support are awful. The readings are all over the board, 1 lb in self reported weight difference cause the readings to jump around dramatically. If you told me this is a gag gift that just makes noise and spews random numbers I’d believe you. It also struggles to connect A LOT and when it won’t connect the troubleshooting suggests contacting support. When I did and said that I needed solutions to these issues or a refund they only replied with this form. On top of that if there’s even a little bit of ambient noise it doesn't work it has to be nearly silent because most of the functionality seems to be sonic not bio impedance through the electric sensors like the website and advertising suggests. AURAApp is missing numerous features advertised like telling you when fat will burn, the metrics give huge “normal” ranges statistically not recommended healthy ranges or ranges for different goals and it also doesn’t give you any advice to improve them. Also the strap feels cheap and Velcro’s on both sides making it difficult to tighten evenly. When not strapped on the ends of the strap easily fall out of the watch and are annoying to rethread. Complete waste of money I would not recommend this product to anyone.
I purchased the Aura strap 2 with the hopes it would provide accurate health information to help me achieve some fitness goals. The strap itself was alright, but a bit chunky where the sensors are located making certain exercise movements awkward. Over the course of the next week, AURAApp gave me the same readings almost every day. Nothing changed like water composition etc which should fluctuate. I felt skeptical the device would live up to expectations, so I decided to return it. I was told I’d be given a full refund upon receipt of the returned band. I returned the band in early September 2022. It’s now been a month and I’ve yet to receive my refund. Upon reaching out to their contact team, I was told they’re “having issues with returns.” I’ve also been denied any management contact information. This company is not trustworthy and the device was not accurate or beneficial. Save your money.
I saw an add on Facebook for the watch strap and loved all the features so I bought it. It’s so difficult to get a reading. It took me about 20 minutes just to get the first reading, even though I was using it exactly as the instructions stated. I was only able to get 2 readings before the strap completely stopped working. It wouldn’t light up or connect. I reached out to support and told them I had done all the troubleshooting and it still wouldn’t work. I asked for a refund. They gave me the run around and just gave me troubleshooting instructions which I had told them I had already tried. I guess I won’t be getting my money back. Don’t waste $150 on this thing. It’s pure trash!
Strap took an hour’s worth of work to connect, involving *multiple* install/uninstall/reset watch/reset phone cycles. At least 20 times. Then strap/app would require multiple attempts before finally taking readings. Then battery died, prematurely it seemed to me, but okay. Tried two new batteries and strap/app still won’t connect. I’m sure I’m past my return period, if there was one. So that’s $149 USD and hours of my life down the drain. Could not be more aggravated.
Update: Could not use the strap or app for WEEKS because iOS update supposedly broke AURAApp . Also, the strap appeared to be broken, but rather than giving me the refund I requested REPEATEDLY they sent me a replacement, which also took an hour or so to get working. Now, it’s hit or miss whether it will take a reading at all. Oh, and my data with the new strap is significantly different than the date with my old strap, as if two different people were taking measurements. So, it’s frustrating, unreliable, and apparently inaccurate. For $149.
Hello!!! I am writing you again because I have realized that after receiving the aura band 2 for the second time, the device you sell did not work, it was useless... again the same thing happened as the first... it only worked once!! But I never took measurements... But its green led never turned on... But it never responded!!!! The truth is that I am very disappointed with the product... so much so that I want my refund! I would not recommend it to anyone on the planet... the product seems to be made or built for a single measurement! After playing sports (tennis) it stopped working out of nowhere...
and I am disappointed because I precisely purchased it to measure the level of dehydration in the body.. and today I almost fainted from dehydration thinking that the device worked!!! The truth is it is a deception.
In addition, this product has very poor engineering in how it was created, its design is vulnerable to water entering either through sweat while doing sports or water when bathing or any type of liquid. When you open it for the first time to change the size of the strap and you close it again it is never watertight and it is always vulnerable to water entering, even your own body sweat entering it.
Without further ado, wasting time. I want to know how we solve this? Will you give me my money back? I will return your inoperative bands to wherever you want! I am not interested in having a garbage product.
I really wanted to like this product, but it has been a complete disappointment. I tried two different "Straps 2" and neither functioned properly. Despite keeping the device clean and dry, and ensuring the battery was correctly installed, it consistently failed to take measurements and displayed errors. I followed troubleshooting prompts to no avail. Even after reinstalling AURAApp on both my watch and iPhone, the issues persisted. Additionally, AURAApp itself is problematic; despite setting the wake time to 70 seconds, the monitor still turns off prematurely. There's no "start measuring" button, so you have to position your hands correctly and hope it begins to work, but often, it does not. Trying to tap the screen with my nose to activate it felt ridiculous, especially when I discovered AURAApp had shut down. On the rare occasion that it does start measuring, it invariably ends with an "error: incorrect data" message. They sent a replacement, but it had the same issues. Obviously, they refuse to offer a refund because it's past the warranty period, so I'm thoroughly frustrated.
This has to be a scam. I never write reviews but this was so bad it compelled me to. I waited two months, yeah you read that right, to recieve my band. I give some leeway due to the Covid 19 pandemic but two months is pretty unacceptable. What’s even more unacceptable is that I sent 5 emails to customer service and they replied once! My questions about shipping and tracking were never answered. Once I finally did get the strap and connected it, it was EXTREMELY inaccurate. I am a very active person and have had multiple body fat testing done. This includes DXA, calipers, and hydrostatic testing. These test have me right around 10-13% (-+1%) body fat. I tried over 10 times before I even got my first read. When I got it to finally read it told me I had 50% body fat. I repeated it for 10 more times and each time got a vastly different reading. Each one being more wild than the last. I can not believe that this product has good reviews and am highly skeptical that the other reviews are people from the company or paid. Oh and they do not have a customer support number so good luck trying to get them to respond. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
I was really looking forward to this watch strap and hoping it would be a useful tool for my weight loss. However, it barely works. There is no button in AURAApp to begin measurement, so you just have to assume the correct position for measuring and hope it starts on its own, which happens about 5% of the time. The rest of the time I am unable to get a measurement. AURAApp on my phone and on my watch never sync correctly so my phone will say my last measurement was much longer ago than it actually was.
When I do manage to get the watch app to work, it struggles to get an accurate reading even though I am following the correct procedure. All in all, this has been a huge letdown.
I like to test various technologies to measure whatever I can going on with my body. This one seems to be all over the place. Maybe the answer is more scans at different times (even though it says to measure the same time each day). Anyway it stopped scanning entirely after just two weeks. It gets about 8 seconds into the scan and stops. I’ve got all my settings & troubleshooting setup correctly but even if it worked after say 500 attempts, my stress level at that time would be through the roof because of this band. Very disappointed because I wanted this to work so bad. We need better smart bands like this so we can do more than what the watch alone can.
1. First, you can tell that most of these 5 star reviews are fake plants just by the wording. Many of them reference functions that don't exist.
2. I have the Apple Watch strap and the quality is very poor. The design is terrible requiring 2 straps. The Velcro started to rip on day 1.
3. The device works 50% of the time.
4. So far body fat for me is substantially off. It's says I have body fat of 38%, but I am a long distance runner that runs 40 miles per week 5'10" 160 lbs. My real body fat is closer to 8%.
5. I purchased for the hydration tracking, but it's terrible. Mine is always 50%-58%. I tested and drank nothing for 24 hours, my readings were the same. Then I tested is by drinking a gallon of water and testing it every hour after, for 12 hours, still at 53.8%. This thing will never provide accurate real time info. You can't use it for pre race or post race at all.
6. Shipping and ordering took months and months, with spotty customer service.
7. My guess is the Technology is just not ready yet, if it was, Apple would probably make its own.
I’ve been using it for several months now, and while the idea is great the actual product is sooo glitchy. I keep waiting for updates to improve it but still as of today the same awkward glitches occur. The worst glitch is that the Apple Watch shows one set of data and the phone shows different data! I don’t even understand how that’s possible. Doesn’t the watch gather everything and just share it with the phone? I’ve even retested it and still the data is different, most stats are off by 2%. Same date and timestamp, different body readings. So I don’t know which set of data I’m supposed to look at. My phone says I’m getting fatter while my watch says I’m improving. Which one is it? I think I’ll just go back to more legitimate inbody reading machines.
When I first heard of the Aura Strap, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Took forever to receive my strap for my Apple Watch, and I would say customer service was very poor. Once I got my strap, I notice the Apple Watch app was very glitchy. The communication between the watch app and the phone doesn’t seem to always communicate properly. I also would love more information on the metrics they provide. What’s a good hydration level? How do I compare to other. This product and app have so much potential and I hope they continue to improve.
The advertisements for the product are that you can take control of your hydration. However, you can’t take control of something just by knowing the metrics...they have to give you cues and suggestions of what to do with the metrics, or what they mean. What is a good level of hydration? Shouldn’t AURAApp tell me if/when I need to hydrate more or increase electrolytes? That’s what I was looking for. I use a very accurate biometric scale daily and the numbers I get from the device are usually close, but not the same. Sometimes they are incredibly off from the other inputs (including a handheld monitor) taken at the same times and under the same conditions.
I want more analysis of the data and direction using the results to optimize behavior and fitness. I would LOVE this band if it offered deeper insights as it looks cool and is very convenient.
I received the band and it worked to make a measurement and then that was that! So I thought, here we go, I wasted another 150 dollars! But, I thought I would give it a try and emailed to the company telling them that it wasn’t working! I received an email the next day with a list of suggestions to try! I told them what I tried and that nothing was working! They asked me for the receipt and my address and asked me if it was ok if they sent me a replacement! Well, 5 days later, I received my new replacement, working beautifully and now I have to deal with the fact that I have 35 lbs of fat and how I will get rid of them! The bad really works and I did a measurement on my wife and it totally sounds accurate! I love numbers! Thank you AURA band and thank you for fixing it for me!
I will admit initially I had trouble getting readings. However, once I figured it out, the insights provided into my body. Composition are absolutely incredible. I have a scale that gives advanced body composition notes, but having both allows me the opportunity to get a better idea of exactly where my body is at and what I need to continue working on or refocus on. AURAApp itself is intuitive, although I do wish the readings from the watch came through to the phone, a little bit quicker, I don’t know that that’s necessarily an issue with AURAApp as much as it is my environment and the significant amount of Bluetooth devices I have.
