Can’t think of the last time I was this disappointed with a purchase. The product has so much potential in the concept and falls flat on its face in execution. The method for transferring your work from the tablet surface to Blackboard is via your phones camera... What an awful approach to a cool idea. Making it a digital file would have been so much better in transferring the text. The slightest bit of glare in the photo (which is next to impossible to avoid with this type of screen) renders the photo almost useless. The screen grabs Boogie Board uses in its promotional shots are not even close to the real outcome. This idea needs a lot more work before before anyone should consider using Blackboard or product.

Blackboard looks so cool, but cannot get pen to pair. Tried so many times, eventually gave up.

App installs fine, however no icon ever shows up and if you click “open” from Blackboard Store, the program opens for two seconds and the shuts down.

Title... was great. I don’t know what happened but it’s impossible to save to the correct folder cause it doesn’t show their names, probably some sort of glitch but it’s not usable. 2 stars since before it was great

I have scanned three items so far and each time I press save function, the twirling circle that indicates it’s doing something just keeps going. I had to restart my phone each time to see the saved item. This is very frustrating and makes it unusable to me unless this is fixed.

Blackboard is great, love the folder system, but the one thing I absolutely don’t get is why you can’t take pictures in a horizontal layout. If my notes or drawings are taken in a landscape positioning, I’ll want to take my picture like that, but the snapshot I’ll take will squish the picture to be tall vertically. If this issue was fixed, I’d easily change my review to five stars.

App seems to lock up every time I go to save a file.

This is a good app right now - I can’t make it crash, and so far there’s only one thing I can’t figure out. If there is a way to delete folders, I haven’t found it. But everything else is great.

I wouldn’t like every document in Blackboard to sync to a cloud or webdav service. However I hope future updates will include a quick option to send selections to such services.

Carbon Copy Pen: works perfectly with Blackboard ! Today I saved 4 pages of notes in the pen and synced later in the day. Awesome!

The CC Pen actually doesn’t feel that great in my hand so I will still be using other styluses and scanning the this app.

Kent Displays was kind enough to send extra styluses to me and I love the flat one with the pink tip for drawing. The glare issue is very difficult when using Blackboard to save my drawings though, and maybe Blackboard can never compensate for it.

Advice: flatbed scanners are a great way to save your this app contents without glare.

Amazing app and it works really well and I haven’t had any issues with it but my biggest complaints with Blackboard is that it doesn’t automatically scan the this app, you have to drag a handles until the frame lines up with the bezels on the screen then you can scan it and also there’s no way to show scans in a folder you have to manually go to the folder tab and then look through a folder to find specific docs. If you could just sort and show all scans by a folder or change the chronological sorting rather than staying on the main screen that says “no documents” and having to switch to another tab that would be very nice. Other than that it’s a great app that deserves five stars but gets docked 1 star for those 2 reasons.

It works with the this app just fine. I do not know what another reviewer was talking about with glare - the this app is very low glare.
The two issues I have:
1. Should preserve the aspect ratio of my frame selection. Seems to be squishing.
2. Should allow choice to relive background pattern such as horizontal lines or dots. These help when drawing but should not be in the final drawing normally.

Otherwise works well.

No good if it is only viewable on the device it is captured on. A phone is portable but its screen is really small to look at pdf size files.
Need an option to be able to back up captures to cloud drives automatically (onedrive, google drive, etc.).

I enjoy Blackboard a lot, but I can't reliably use it the way I want to without it syncing to some kind of cloud storage. If anything happens to this phone, all my important notes are gone. If they could add that function, this could become a central app in my routine.

this app by Boogie Board is so much better than Rocketbook because you don’t have to worry about erasing the Boogie Board with a wet cloth and having to use the wet cloth over and over again. I like this app by Boogie Board because it’s a lot cheaper and a lot better than Rocketbook. I would strongly recommend this app by Boogie Board to anyone who wants to go digital. 👍👍

I picked up both the letter and note-sized editions. It took a minute for my iPhone to register the pen and worked well showing the battery level and able to see my work on both tablets. This helps get my thoughts down rather quick and effortlessly. Thank you to the team at Kent Displays for putting this Kickstarter project up, and coming out with a set of flawless products.

I originally bought my boogie board for fun and recording quick games of keeping score. After six months of use I Wished there was someway I could record everything I was writing on my boogie board so we could have hey leaderboard turns out there was an application and boy was I in for a treat.
There was an app. It was free, had a professional as well as casual interface, thorough extras in Hance meant and a very useful calendar. Blackboard was more than I can Asfoor and was available before I ever asked for it in my eyes this company has far exceeded my expectations and is well deserving of a five star review in the $14 I paid for this 9 x 7“ boogie board.

While it’s true, the glare is an issue with capture, Blackboard otherwise works great. On the Boogie Board I create a document, scan the finished project using Blackboard then save for archive. Now here’s where it’s really useful: you can open file and edit! I opened my file, made edits using pen, highlighter, or eraser [only erases edits, not the original info from Boogie Board] and again saved the new doc. But wait, there’s more: I then shared the new doc with my workmates by text or email. Nice!

The reviews claiming you shouldn’t have to use your phone to retrieve the notes you take are moronic. The product is advertised stating that’s what this is. This device feels like you are writing with a pencil and Blackboard scans your notes and you can upload them to your google drive right from there. I am so excited I never have to write on another pad of paper again.

Okay okay so it’s in its early stages but could we please have some more effects and other helpful things? It would be nice. Keep up the good work!
