Why does payDFAS not work? Why does the website not work? Why is there even a debt to begin with? Answers I shall never receive.

How nice of you to create an app developed so service members can pay you back with interest for a mistake you made. Seems right up the ally for Uncle Sam to profit off of its own mistakes. Even at 1% interest rate that is too much. The fact that this happens so much is appalling and should have been fixed many years ago.

First of all, horrible app and full of bugs. Second.. shame on you for collecting over $2,000 in debt close to two years after my deployment. Sure feels great to have all that money taken away from me in the middle of a pandemic. I fear for my my brothers and sisters who are not as financially responsible will be negatively affected by YOUR mistake and sent to collections where you’ll absolutely wreck their credit. Shame on you for making such a grave mistake and taking your sweet time to correct it. I’m glad I left the service in October. This only reaffirms that I made the right decision.

Continually received error messages while trying to make a payment. Error after error. But in the end, multiple payments were actually processed erroneously. Beware

Trying to make these stupid social security payments but payDFAS says I need to update it. Problem is, I have the newest version of payDFAS ! And the debt and claims website doesn’t have a payment option!

I paid the invoice in full in 12 feb, and got another bill on 22 Feb with interest charge. I saw they took the money out of my bank account but I’m unable to see what left i actually owe and I’m just playing a guessing game.

Wont let me scan QR code’s because the “OS is no longer supported”. Haven’t been able to figure out the issue. App is updated, phone is updated..... app is just trash like all other military stuff.

15 years after my service ended I stop getting my tax returns because these people garnished my returns for a $2000 overpayment I never knew about. Then because I never payed there’s over $2000 in interest .$4000 I owe. During a pandemic and a leader who’s made inflation go through the roof. Thanks for my service a..holes.

The green weenie coming after me over a year after separation. They ruined my knees and my back, why not my wallet too?

One would think after two years and only 1 other review, any attempt to fix payDFAS would have been made.
Much like the “how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop?”The world may never know.
Mail a check, its faster

No longer supports new OS - so why include it as an option in your letters?

Why advertise it if doesn’t work!

6 months after getting out and I’m told I owe money due to the social security opt out from September to December 2020 that service members weren’t allowed to opt out of if they were nearing the end of their contract with plans to discharge. Got a letter in the mail telling me to pay my amount due and lead me to the website (which is constantly down) and payDFAS, which simply doesn’t process your payment. Typical government incompetence.

I’ve been paying on this broken app for 4 months. I’m finally at the last payment (I think because there’s no way to actually see if payments have gone through other than my withdrawals from my bank going into the void.)
but I can’t make this payment due to payDFAS saying I need a new version as soon as I re-download. Fix your stupid app so I can take your stupid debt off my report.

This is the most frustrating app I’ve ever used. Received $50 bill a week before it was due on Xmas eve. I went on payDFAS like it said and it would not process my payment no matter what I tried using bank, card, or even PayPal . Kept saying error. Then go on their site just for it to say it’s down. Then a week later I get ANOTHER one in the mail and now they’re charging me $150?! How disgusting this company is. Served 12 years just to be treated like trash.

Fix your app. You want me to pay the debt yet don’t allow me to process a payment

I’m genuinely surprised payDFAS worked as well as it did. Based on the majority of negative reviews I almost passed on this one, but I gave it a shot and glad it worked out. My only concern was not seeing the payment go through for a couple days, but it eventually posted to my bank account. I’d recommend giving it a try, and hopefully it works for you as well.

Loved it, quick and easy. No hassle. I believe payDFAS has been updated and that makes it way way way better.

The idea is amazing. No need to enter account information. Immediate confirmation of the payment. No need to write a check and mail and wait forever hoping that the check is not lost in transit.

So unlike the other reviews where much disappointment was put forward, I only have a minuscule amount of disgruntled complaining to do. Down loading payDFAS to all of 22 seconds, about the same amount of time it takes a GE700-701D-CC to start. payDFAS then sensed that my camera needed access so why not, clicked OK. Scan bar code was next, that took all of 10 seconds, all the fields were automatically filled. Hot diggity we are getting somewhere now. Fill in the amount that DFAS overpaid me. Dang I wanted you to let that slide. Ok now PayPal, going once, ok twice, three, four, five, six .... well I’ll get my debit card then. Hey that works! Paid! Boy am I happy!

payDFAS is easy to use. Just scan the code and enter the information. I was nervous about the negative reviews, but realized that they are really old. payDFAS has been updated and works fine as of 02May21.
