I have several plugs and the garage door opener, all setup with HomeKit, using the this app app for firmware updates only.
Despite what so many are complaining about, the setup was simple and straight forward if you followed the directions correctly.
The plugs have worked flawlessly so far, in multiple uses.
The garage door opener is great, but this is one where I started having an issue. For about the first 6 months it worked without issue. Then it started opening and closing respectively on its own, despite no automation to do any such thing, and it happens at random. This creates a grave security breach. I am still working with tech support on this issue, which have been responsive; so I will update later on this issue.
As for the this app app, it is very basic, but will get the job done. Have not noticed any problems that can be directly associated to Meross .
I agree with others, but especially for HomeKit users, we should not be required to register with this app to use Meross locally or update the firmware. You have no reason to want our information.
