Dollar General DG GO Reviews

I love shopping at dollar general. I was so excited with the release of the DG App that allow us to download digital coupons. The DG GO app seemed like shopping heaven, or so I thought. DollarGeneralDGGO tells you that you have to turn on the Bluetooth to utilize the pricing. I do that each time. I have only been able to retrieve 2 prices on it, and they both showed up literally 3-4 minutes later when I had given up and moved on. I wonder if there is something in the store itself keeping it from working. Often when trying to use the DG App for my coupons I will scan an item to see if there is an available coupon and I have little to no service, even though I had perfect service in the parking lot.
These recent problems have recently steered me away from shopping at DG unless absolutely necessary. I do hope these issues are addressed and corrected soon.

Explain to me why I can’t use the scan feature unless I allow location tracking. What does my location have to do with checking the price of an item? The whole app is essentially useless unless you give up all rights to privacy. I hate companies that lock everything unless you give them complete control even when there is no need for them to know that information. Also there should only be one app for Dollar General not 2. Space on my device is at a premium. It is bad enough that every single store you visit practically requires and app which demands your personal information these days to get coupons but this is extra excessive.

The idea behind DollarGeneralDGGO is great but the execution is HORRIBLE. I scanned all of my items with no problems. As I get to the checkout, I scan the barcode for paying. The first time it said I had an item that had a sensor or some sort. See a cashier. The cashier tells me to try it again as nothing had a sensor on it. I tried it two more times and it did the same thing. So I tried it with only food and it worked.

Now I have four pending transactions on my account because of this. The store manager says the other three will fall off but I’m pretty sure I’ll be back in the store this week getting the actual refund.

Went to use DollarGeneralDGGO at Dollar General and it would not allow me go to my cart to checkout. I wait all week to do my shopping at DG on Saturdays in order to get the most bang for my buck and couldn’t even get my stuff I had waited all week to get. The cashier offered to scan the items on the register but told me that my coupons would not work. All of this after standing in line for a good ten minutes. I felt embarrassed having to walk out of Dollar General leaving all of the items that I spent 20+ minutes searching for in a store full of people. Thanks Dollar General for this awesome experience- NOT!!!

It’ll tell me my password is wrong and every single time I have to reset it, it tells me I don’t meet the requirements. I exceed the minimum requirements each time. I will come up with the most absurd combo and it’ll still tell me it doesn’t meet them. Then eventually I’m either locked out or it’ll randomly email me saying my password change was successful (which at this point I’ve tried so many I have no idea which one was even successful because the page never tells me it’s successful!) I loved the connivence of DG Go but I’m tired of fighting it if something happens and I need to rest it.

I was so excited for DollarGeneralDGGO. With all the sales and percents off you never really know the price, and sometimes clearance items are actually lower. I get not all stores are set up to checkout on the phone, but the UPC’s are for the store, so would it be so hard to allow the scanner to work at least? This seems like a pretty easy fix, that would take DollarGeneralDGGO from useless to extremely useful! The closest store I could scan at is 193 miles away. Hard pass, this one is a fail. I’ll happily give it another chance and amend my rating if the scan feature is ever enabled for ALL stores.

I was so glad to know, the DG GO app would allow you to scan products to discover the price, considering the DG app, doesn't have the capabilities to do so, which is strange in & of itself. However, 50-75 % of the time, the price is lower on DollarGeneralDGGO than at the register, which is less than inconvenient. It causes problems w/the DG cashiers & mgmt, bc they don't care what the price is indicated on DollarGeneralDGGO & they aren't going to honor it. It's bad enough, you can't find a price on the shelf, let alone for the store not to honor the price on their own nationally accessible app. Many DG stores need to become more customer friendly.

When using DollarGeneralDGGO and it showing the coupons (savings) coming off then getting to the register and the price is different ... not liking this! It doesn’t pull the digital coupons correctly.. example... buy 2 cottonelle save $5.00 or $1.00 off one I think is how it was.. I bought 2 & only got $1.00 off.. on DollarGeneralDGGO it showed the $5.00... I went back in and they told me it pulls the lower coupon ... it shouldn’t if I bought 2... would not fix it!!! So no I’m not satisfied but thought I would love DollarGeneralDGGO and now it’s false advertisement 😞

I used to love using DollarGeneralDGGO. Now I’m not sure if it’s an issue with my local DG Go enable store, my phone or what...but now DollarGeneralDGGO no longer recognizes I am at a DG Go store. When DollarGeneralDGGO works, it’s freaking awesome (bypass the usually long checkout lines is great and the money it can save you by finding missing coupons is fantastic). Until this gets fixed I’ll have to revert back to finding savings at Target as their app works.

I love DollarGeneralDGGO.! In the beginning it was a dream but one day I was in the store making my scans and realized I’m not getting the 10% off for utilizing DollarGeneralDGGO and has been this way every since. I’ve contacted Customer care I actually just emailed once again I’ve not had no response at all. also I realized that DollarGeneralDGGO isn’t pulling my coupons from the dollar store go app as well as the dollar store Digital coupon app. Other than the 10% off and the coupon pulling I really don’t have no use to use DollarGeneralDGGO anymore. Very disappointing for me.

When DollarGeneralDGGO works this is a wonderful app. But the huge issue I have with DollarGeneralDGGO . Is why in the stores that have DollarGeneralDGGO do you have to take your cart up to the front of the store to scan items. You should be able to scan your items throughout your trip in the Dollar General and put it in your cart. I feel like this a bunch of wasted time for me when I am in a hurry to get in and out. Please fix your stores so we can use DollarGeneralDGGO inside the stores.

App works great once I’m signed in. I love the convenience and the discounts it offers. However, it never keeps me signed in. I have had DollarGeneralDGGO for several weeks and even with a wipe of my phone and upgrade to iOS 13 I have to enter my email and password every time like a new user. The check box ‘keep me signed in’ has no effect.

DollarGeneralDGGO is amazing to use! Always helps me find the deals I am looking for, and even some I wasn’t looking for! The only downfall I would say would have to be if you don’t have any service/signal on your phone it won’t let you scan the items. BUT, most of my dollar generals have guest WiFi that I can hop on while I’m in the store and I can use DollarGeneralDGGO that way! Overall, a great addition to my phone and my wallet!!🙌🏼

So far I love DollarGeneralDGGO. Most of the stuff in clearance aisle is tagged wrong or not at all, so it's nice to be able to scan instead of asking (bothering) the employees to scan everything....especially when they can't do price checks on the registers or they get in trouble and they have to use those stupid hand held things that NEVER work and when they do they are SUPER slow. Soooooo, DollarGeneralDGGO is pretty freaking awesome. So far....

I live in a small town in Arkansas. We only have a grocery store, family dollar and dollar general. So they stay pretty busy with only one cashier. Our dollar general just recently got the dg go. I downloaded DollarGeneralDGGO and have been using it since! Even my husband likes it due how much money we save!! I just wish I knew how to use my digital coupons with it!
